New School & New Friends

It had been a couple of days since Ash & Delia moved to Iki Town in the Alola Region. After the celebration, the Mr. Mime Ash had met, was taken in by the Ketchums & became a housekeeper & caretaker for Ash when Red & Delia went out & Ash & Hau had become good friends. Right now, Today is Ash's first day of attending Pokémon School.

"Okay, do you have everything you need?" Delia asked

"Yes." Ash nodded

"Pencils?" Delia said

"Yes." Ash said

"Notebook?" Delia said

"Yes Mom." Ash said

"Alright, sweetie, just making sure." Delia said

"You don't have to worry about a thing, Ash." Red said "You'll be able to learn new things & make new friends while you're here. Besides, you won't be alone since your friend Hau will be attending here with you."

"Okay." Ash said

"Ahoy!" A voice called out

Ash & his parents looked & saw 2 men, the first man had tan skin, black eyes, black hair, wearing a white hat with a rainbow decoration in the front, glasses with a teal frame, a white lab coat with rolled-up sleeves, gray baggy pants with a teal stripe and white drawstrings & some teal shoes with a white outline. The second man had dark skin, long gray hair, & resembled Professor Oak. He was wearing a short-sleeved teal collared shirt, which is decorated with red Goldeen and several white circles, white shorts & blue flip-flops.

"Professor Kukui, Professor Samson Oak." Red said

"Hey Red, good to see you." Kukui said

"Hey guys, my wife & I are here to drop off our son at school." Red said

"Oh, then you must be Ash, my cousin Samuel Oak told me all about you." Samson said to Ash. "I'm very glad to meet you, it'll be a treat having you going to school here."

"Thank you." Ash said

"Kukui, Samson, please take care of our son." Delia said "The last thing we want is for anything—."

"Don't worry, Delia, we'll take good care of him." Kukui assured

"Yes, we're gonna have so much fun with him around." Samson said as he ruffled Ash's hair "Isn't that right, Ash?"

"Mr. Oak, stop, you're embarrassing me." Ash blushed as they chuckled

"Thank you Kukui, thank you Samson." Red smiled

"Bye honey, we'll come back to pick you up from school." Delia said as she hugged her son & kissed his cheek "We love you."

"I love you too, Mama." Ash said

"You be good at school, okay little Lightning Flame?" Red said

"Okay Daddy, see you later." Ash said

After Red & Delia left, Kukui took Ash to the classroom. Not only did Ash see Hau, he saw a short chubby boy, with orange hair & green eyes, a dark-skinned boy with red & brown hair in a style resembling fire, a girl with blue eyes & short blue hair, a tanned girl with green hair & green eyes, A girl with green eyes & platinum blonde hair with two braids at each side of her face, a girl with auburn hair & blue eyes, & a girl with blonde hair & blue eyes.

"Boys & Girls, we have a new student, he's new in the Alola Region, so make sure to make him feel welcomed." Kukui said as he turned to Ash "Would you like to introduce yourself?"

"My name is Ash Ketchum & I moved here from Pallet Town in the Kanto Region." Ash said as the class except Hau & Kukui looked at him in awe

"He's cute." The girls thought

"Very good, take a seat." Kukui said as Ash took a seat in his desk "Okay, role call, Hau."

"Here." Hau said

"Lillie."

"Here sir" the girl with green eyes & platinum blonde hair said

"Sophocles."

"Here." The boy, with orange hair & green eyes said

"Kiawe."

"Here." boy with red & brown hair said

"Lana."

"Here" the girl with blue eyes & blue hair said

"Mallow."

"Here." the girl with green hair & green eyes said

"Kairi."

"Here Professor." The girl with auburn hair & blue eyes said

"Winry."

"Here." The girl with blonde hair & blue eyes said

"Ash."

"Here." Ash said

After a couple of hours, it was time for recess. The kids were playing outside as Ash was sitting on one of steps

"Ash." A voice said

Ash looked up & saw Samson

"Hey Professor." Ash said

"Why are you sitting here by yourself? Are you in timeout or something?" Samson asked as he sat next to him

"No sir." Ash said

"Then why aren't you playing with the others?" Samson asked

"I just don't feel like playing." Ash said

"Ash, I know how you're feeling, Samuel told me about your problem & what you went through." Samson said "But you've got to be brave, dear boy."

"How can I be brave? How do I know that they're not gonna treat me the same as I was treated back in Pallet Town?" Ash asked "You know the kids back in Pallet Town only became friends with me just to get close to Gary."

"I know, but I'm sure that won't happen again." Samson said "Technically, those kids had missed out on what a terrific kid you are."

"He's right." A voice said

Ash looked & saw Kuki

"Ash, these kids are good people & they stick out for each other." Kukui said "Trust me, they're gonna like you a lot."

"I don't think they are since I'm nothing but a loser." Ash said

"That's not true, just because you were called a loser doesn't mean you are." Samson said "The reason why they called you that is because they don't know you."

"That's right, like Samson said they missed out on what a terrific kid you are." Kukui said "You're smart, friendly, & very helpful."

"…Okay, I'll try." Ash said as he got up

"Atta boy, Ash." Samson smiled as Ash went to go play with the others

"I know what Ash went through was bad, but I didn't think it was that bad." Kukui said "I can't believe those people in Pallet Town just treated him like that."

"Yes, the poor boy was possibly shattered when he realized that he was used by those kids in Pallet Town. I hope the class can pick up the pieces & heal his broken heart." Samson said

Meanwhile with Ash

"Ash, have you come to play?" Hau asked

"I guess so." Ash said

"Great!" Hau said as he took Ash's hand "Let's play."

Ash ended up having fun with the class & making friends with them. For the past one & a half month, he & his classmates have been getting to know each other & have become close. Right now, Ash & his father were flying on their way to Kiawe's house

"We're almost there, Ash." Red said as he was flying on his Charizard with Ash

"Daddy, what's that?" Ash pointed at a volcano

"That's Wela Volcano." Red said

"It looks very hot." Ash said

"I know." Red said

When Ash & Red landed at Kiawe's farm.

"Ash." Kiawe called out as he ran towards them

"Hi Kiawe." Ash greeted

"Hey Red, it's good to see you again." A voice said

Ash saw a dark-skinned man & a pregnant dark-skinned woman

"Hello Rango, Sima." Red greeted

"I see you brought your son." Rango said

"Yep, this is Ash." Red said

"Hello." Ash said

"Hi there Ash, I'm Rango , Kiawe's Dad & this is my wife Sima." Rango smiled

"Well, aren't you a handsome little doll?" Sima complimented

"Thank you." Ash blushed

"Are you & your dad here to help us out?" Rango asked

"Yeah." Ash nodded

After Ash & Red helped Kiawe & his family with the chores

"Hey boys, I thought you might want something to drink after all that hard work you've done." Sima said as she approached her son & Ash while holding a tray with two glasses of lemonade on it

"Thanks Mom." Kiawe said as he took a glass

"Thank you, Ms. Sima." Ash said as he took the other glass

"You're welcome." Sima said with a motherly smile as she felt her unborn child "Oh, the baby just kicked."

"Really? Let me feel" Kiawe said as he placed a hand on her stomach "Whoa."

"Do you wanna feel, Ash?" Sima asked

"Um…" Ash said shyly

""It's okay, sweetie, just put your hand on my stomach like this." Sima said as she took Ash's hand & placed it on her stomach

"Wow." Ash said in awe as he felt the baby kicking

"She's very energetic, isn't she?" Sima said

"Yeah." Ash said

"Alola." A dark skinned old man said as he approached them

"Grandpa." Kiawe said happily as ran up to his grandfather

"Hello Kiawe." Kiawe's grandfather smiled as he rubbed Kiawe's head

"Hey Dad." Sima said

"Hello Sima, how are things?" Kiawe's grandfather said as he noticed Ash "Who might this be?"

"This is my friend, Ash Ketchum." Kiawe said

"Oh, so your Red's child? It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Ahi." Ahi said

"Nice to meet you, sir." Ash said

"Grandpa's the Island Kahuna here in Akala Island." Kiawe said

"Wow, that's awesome." Ash said

After they ate dinner, Ash & Red were having an evening walk until they saw Ahi & his Charizard

"Ahi." Red called out

"Hm?" Ahi said as he looked at them "Oh, Red, Ash, what brings you here?"

"Ash & I were just having a walk, what about you?" Red asked

"Just staring at the smoke coming out of Wela Volcano with Charizard." Ahi said "Care to join me?"

"Sure." Red said as he & Ash sat down on the log with Ahi

"Hey Ahi, may I ask you a question?" Ash said

"Of course." Ahi

"Why do some Trainers catch Pokémon that have one Type?" Ash asked

"Hm, trainers have their own reason to be one Type Trainers." Ahi said "My reason for becoming a Fire Type Trainer is because the fire allows us to live. Fire can be something to fear, at times it can burn everything in its path, causing great destruction. But it can also become a beacon for humanity, which is what civilized the world. So rather than use the Fire to destroy life, I became a Fire Type Trainer nurturing life like the fire from Wela Volcano." Ahi said

"I never thought of it like that." Ash said

"Ash, do you wanna know why I chose Charizard as my starter when he was a Charmander?" Red said

"Why?" Ash asked

"Because my Dad gave me the name 'Red' hoping that when I grow up it will help me have the passion & energy of a red hot fire, so I decided that my first Pokémon should be a Fire Type Pokémon that will help me live up to the name my father gave me." Red said

A few days later, Ash & his parents were going to have lunch at a restaurant called Aina's Kitchen, a restaurant owned by Mallow's family.

"Ash." Mallow said as she ran up & hugged Ash.

"Hi Mallow." Ash said

"Bounsweet." A fruit-like Pokémon said as it approached Ash

"This is Bounsweet, my Pokémon." Mallow said

"Hi Bounsweet." Ash said

"Hello, Mr. Red." A green haired boy said "Dining in today?"

"Yes Ulu." Red said

"Party of 3?" Ulu asked

"Yes." Red said

"Right this way." Ulu said as he led them to a table.

"Hey Red." A green haired man said

"Hello Abe, how's the restaurant business going & how's your wife?" Red asked

"Going great & she's fine, is there something I can make for you & your family?" Abe asked

"Can you make us some Alolan Stew, please?" Red said

"No problem." Abe said

"Daddy, can Ash help cook with us?" Mallow asked

"Sure, if it's alright with his parents." Abe said

"It's okay, just make sure he doesn't cut or burn himself." Delia said

"Okay." Abe said

After they finish cooking the stew

"& that's how you make an Alolan Stew." Abe said

"It looks delicious." Ash said in awe

"Alright Ash, you can go back to your seat now, the food will be out in a minute." Abe said

"Yes sir." Ash said as he went back to his parents

A week later at Ash's house

"Ash, your friend Kairi is here." Delia called out

"Hi Kairi." Ash greeted

"Hi Ash." Kairi smiled

"What are you doing here?" Ash asked

"There's someone I want you to meet." Kairi said

"There is?" Ash said curiously

"Yes, he lives in the forest, wanna come with me?" Kairi asked

"Can I, Mom?" Ash asked

"Sure, but Mimey has to come with you." Delia said

"Okay." Ash said

Ash, Kairi, & Mr. Mime traveled in the forest until they arrived at area with berry trees

"Grandpa Forest, I brought a friend." Kairi said

Just then a big bluish-green & white Chinese Dragon-like Pokémon came out from the bushes

"Drampa." The Pokémon said

"Whoa." Ash said surprisingly

"Mime Mime." Mr. Mime said defensively

"Wait Mr. Mime, it's okay, he's harmless." Kairi said

"Mime?" Mr. Mime said

"Ash, this is Grandpa Forest, he's a Drampa." Kairi said

"Wow, it looks so amazing." Ash beamed amazingly

"Drampa." Grandpa Forest said as he approached Ash

"Uh…Hi Grandpa Forest, I'm Ash, Kairi's friend." Ash said

"Dram." Grandpa Forest said as he sniffed Ash before licking his face "Drampa"

"Hey, stop, that tickles." Ash laughed

"Here Ash." Kairi said as she gave him small red berry

"What are they?" Ash asked

"They're Haban Berries, try them." Kairi said

"Okay." Ash said as he ate one before making a bitter face "Mm!"

"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you." Kairi sweatdropped "Haban Berries are very bitter but they can be sweet once you get used to them. Mallow, Lana, & I call them Bittersweet"

"Whatever you say." Ash said

"Would you like to play with me & Grandpa Forest?" Kairi asked

"Yeah." Ash nodded

After an hour of playing with Kairi & Grandpa Forest, Grandpa Forest flew Ash, Kairi, & Mr. Mime back home.

"Thanks, Grandpa Forest, see ya later." Kairi said

"Drampa." Grandpa Forest said as he flew off

"I had a great time, Kairi." Ash said

"Me too, hope we get to play again another day." Kairi said as she kissed his cheek "Bye Ash."

"…Bye." Ash blushed as he held his cheek & watched her leave

Another month had passed & Ash got a chance to hang out with each of his classmates. He went to the Hokulani Observatory with Sophocles & their families, went fishing with Lana & her family, visited Lillie's house where he met her brother & parents, & visited Winry's house where he met her parents & grandmother.

That's right everyone, Kairi from Kingdom Hearts & Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist have made an appearance in this story. Hope you liked it, stay tuned for another chapter, Morpho Out.
