Ash's First Pokémon
Ash got back home from school
"Mommy, Daddy, I'm home." Ash called out
"Hey honey, how was school?" Delia asked
"It was good, Professor Kukui gave me this Pokémon Egg as a school project." Ash said
"Oh, that's amazing, son." Red said as he ruffled his son's hair "Do you get to keep the Egg if you pass?"
"Yeah." Ash nodded
"Awesome." Red said
"Be sure to take care of it." Delia said
"Okay." Ash said
The next day, the Ketchum Family had visitors.
"Professor Kapatelis, It's so good to see you." Red greeted a woman in her 40s named Julia Kapatelis
"It's good to see you too. Why, I haven't seen you & Delia in years." Julia smiled
"We know, it's been so long." Delia said "What brings you here to Alola?"
"I came to study the ancient histories here in the Alola region. When I found out that you were living here, I just thought I might drop by for a visit, I hope you don't mind." Julia said
"Oh no, it's fine, we're happy that you're here." Red said
"Who is this little darling?" Delia asked after noticing Diana
"This is Diana Prince, my foster daughter." Julia introduced
"Greetings, Mr. & Mrs. Ketchum." Diana said as she was holding her Egg
"Hello, you must be one of the new students that comes to Ash's school." Red said
"Is Ash here?" Diana asked
"Yes, he's up in his room, you're welcome to go see him." Delia said
"Okay, thank you." Diana said as she bowed before going upstairs
(In Ash's room)
Ash was taking care of his Egg until there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." Ash said as he was taking care of his Egg
"Hello Ash." Diana said as she entered the room
"Hi Diana, what are you doing here?" Ash asked
"My foster mother's visiting your parents & she took me with her." Diana said
"Oh, okay." Ash said
"What are you doing?" Diana asked
"Taking care of my Egg." Ash said as his Pokémon Egg was on a pillow wrapped in a blanket
"Can we do that with mine?" Diana said
"Sure, I have an extra pillow & blanket." Ash said
After putting Diana's Egg on a pillow & wrapping it in a blanket, the two kids stared at their Eggs
"Hey Diana, what is your favorite Type of Pokémon?" Ash asked
"I love Steel & Fighting Type Pokémon." Diana said
"Why's that?" Ash said
"Because when I think of Steel Types & Fighting Types, I think of warriors." Diana said
"Warriors?" Ash repeated
"Yes, Fighting Type Pokémon remind me of how warriors fight & Steel Type Pokémon remind me of how their swords, shields, & armors are made out of." Diana said
"Wow." Ash said in awe
"Do you ever wonder what our Eggs are going to hatch into?" Diana asked
"I don't really care what Pokémon it hatches into, I just hope we can be best friends once it hatches." Ash said
"Yeah, me too." Diana said "Ash, forgive my curiosity, is it true that you & mother were also from Pallet Town like Red?"
"Yes." Ash nodded
"If that's true, then why did you leave?" Diana asked
Ash told Diana about his life in Pallet Town, she was shocked & felt sad & sorry for him.
"Oh…" Diana whispered sympathetically
"I just couldn't understand it, I was living a happy life in Pallet Town, but one day it just didn't feel like home anymore. People liked Gary more than me because he was the grandson of Professor Oak. Sometimes I wish I was Professor Oak's grandson so they could treat me the way they treat Gary." Ash said sadly
"Ash, you don't have to be the grandson of a Pokémon Professor or the son of a Champion to get people to like you, I like you just the way you are." Diana said
"You do?" Ash said
"Yes, & so does everyone else in class. I know what it's like to feel alone, but warriors have a special proverb they carry." Diana said
"What's that?" Ash asked curiously
"'A warrior's home is where they need no armor', it means 'home is where the heart is. Wherever your heart is'" Diana said wisely "You understand?"
Ash stared at her in awe, before smiling
"You're right. Besides, I am home." Ash said as Diana smiled
"That's the spirit, would you like to meet my foster mother?" Diana said
"Yeah." Ash said
After Diana led Ash to the living room.
"Julia?" Diana said
"Yes, what is it, dear?" Julia asked
"I want you to meet my friend, Ash." Diana said
"Oh, you must be Red & Delia's little boy. It's nice to meet you, I'm Professor Julia Kapatelis." Julia said
"Nice to meet you, Professor." Ash said as he shook her hand
"My, look at you, you look exactly like your parents." Julia said
"Thank you." Ash said
"Professor Kapatelis used to be our school teacher when Daddy & I attended Pokémon School back in Pallet Town." Delia said
"Ash, do you remember your old babysitter?" Julia asked
"You mean Nessie?" Ash asked
"Yes, she's my daughter & she told me all about you, I'm looking forward to getting to know you." Julia said as he pet Ash's head with a smile
"You too, Professor." Ash said
After Diana & Julia's visitation ended
"It was nice seeing you again, Professor." Red said
"You are always welcomed in our home." Delia said
"Thank you, you two take care." Julia said
"Bye Ash, I'll see you soon." Diana said as she kissed Ash's cheek & left with Julia
"Bye." Ash smiled
During the weekend, Diana told her friends Barbara, Kara, & Zee about how Ash was treated. Kara was mostly angry, Zee was mostly disgusted, & Barbara was mostly shocked. Like Diana, they felt sad & sorry for Ash. When Red & Delia told Julia how Ash was treated in Pallet Town, she was disappointed in how the people of Pallet Town treated him in such a way. On Monday, Kukui inspected the each of the students' Eggs
"Alright class, I've checked your Eggs & they're in perfect condition." Kukui announced. "All of you passed."
The class cheered, but then their Eggs started to glow & everyone watched. A few seconds later, the Eggs hatched. Hau got a Rowlet, Daisy got a Happiny, Serena got an Eevee, Chloe got a Yamper, Sophocles got a Togedemaru, Kiawe got a Charmander, Mallow got a Chikorita, Lana got a Popplio, Lillie got an Alolan Vulpix, Winry got a Mawile, Kari got a Skitty, Jinmay got an Aipom, Diana got a Honedge, Kara got a Hawlucha, Zee got a Fennekin, Barbara got a Noibat, Carol got a Spritzee, Kairi got a Ralts, Helen got an Alolan Sandshrew, Silvia got a Meditite, Téa got a Hatenna, Orihime got a Duskull, Gwen got a Joltik, Mary Jane got a Spinarak, Angelica got a Magby, Mera got an Oshawott, Misha got an Elekid, Crystal got a Rotom, Mayl got an Emolga, & Françoise got a Piplup. Everyone was happy & excited, but Ash's Egg was still glowing.
"Professor, mine's still glowing." Ash said
"Don't worry Ash, sometimes these things take a little time." Kukui said
"Oh my gosh, I can't wait to see what an is!" Barbara said excitedly
A few seconds later, Ash's Egg hatched & shined in a white light. When the light faded, it revealed a small pale yellow mouse-like Pokémon with pink cheek pouches & black & angular, ear-tips, collar, & tail.
"Pi?" The Pokémon said
"It's a Pichu." Kukui said
"You're so lucky, Ash." Sophocles said
"Hi Pichu, My name's Ash & I hope we can be great friends." Ash greeted
"Pi." Pichu said as it sniffed Ash before smiling "Pichu!"
Just then Pichu climbed up on Ash's shoulder
"Congratulations Ash, you have received your very first Pokémon." Kukui said "Same goes for the rest of you. Remember this is your first step in becoming Pokémon Trainers, so raise your Pokémon with love & care & one day in the future, you will surely succeed in becoming Pokémon Masters."
"Yeah!" The class cheered in determination
After school was over, Ash went back home
"Mommy! Daddy!" Ash called out
"Hey Lightning Flame, you seem excited." Red said
"I am, my Egg hatched into a Pichu." Ash said gesturing to Pichu
"Pichu." Pichu smiled as it waved
"Aww, it's so adorable." Delia said in adoration
"Mime Mime." Mr. Mime smiled
"Also, your Mom & I have some news for you." Red said
"What's that?" Ash asked
"Ash, we're gonna have a baby." Delia said
"Really? Does that mean?" Ash gasped in surprise
"Yes, you're gonna be a big brother." Delia smiled
"Yay!" Ash exclaimed happily as he hugged his mother "I'm gonna be the best big brother ever!"
Red & Delia chuckled as they hugged their son

Why I gave Téa a Hatenna: because Hatterene looks like the Dark Magician Girl
Why I gave Helen an Alolan Sandshrew: Because of Sonic the Hedgehog
Why I gave Zee a Fennekin: Because Delphox looks like a magic kind of Pokémon, plus I nickname my Fennekin Zatanna
Why I gave Orihime a Duskull: Because Duskull & it's evolution chain look a bit like Hollows
