(Chapter 2: Dominance)
Around an hour had passed ever since Alan Jonah, Floyd, and a large handful of men managed to survive a rather brutal crash from their doomed airship in which had been destroyed by Kong who had detected a threat thanks to his telepathic visions.
Their goal was to reach a large shelter, rumor had it that a new outpost had been built on Monster Island ever since Outpost 33 was demolished by fake Godzilla several years ago at that point.
The group had been marching through thick jungle, the men were shocked that none of them had been attacked by the vicious creatures of this island in which was once known as Skull Island, an island notorious for many strange disappearances along the likes of the Bermuda Triangle. Alan Jonah was leading them, using a machete to slice through the brush as they continued to head through the thick foliage.
"How much further do we have to go until we reach this outpost?" A soldier groaned as he hopped over a fallen log.
"We'll go as far as we need to." Alan Jonah replied as he sliced the machete through a large leaf in which was in the way, a crashing sound coming from the massive leaf as it hit the jungle floor.
As Alan Jonah sliced down the large leaf, the group were shocked to see a massive grey colored lizard. It's jaws coated in blood as it ate from an antelope, these large lizards were carnivorous. It looked like a fatter Komodo dragon in terms of appearance, drool dangling out of it's mouth as it looked up to see Alan Jonah and his group of soldiers behind him.
"Nobody move a muscle..." One of the soldiers said softly, Alan Jonah rolled his eyes.
"This isn't Jurassic Park, quit acting like your life is in a movie..." The British man grumbled, but it was then that the carnivorous lizard let out a shriek before rushing towards the group!
"Open fire!" Floyd shouted as everyone dispersed from being in the tight formation that they were in, one of the soldiers getting attacked by the lizard as it tackled the man down.
The bullets did leave some damage on the big meat eater, but only small amounts as tiny holes were made in it. The carnivorous lizard growled and clamped it's powerful jaws around the throat of the soldier it had tackled.
"Bullets aren't doing shit, boss!" A soldier shouted to Floyd, whose mind was starting to race as he thought about other ways to try and take this beast out. Another soldier grabbed hold of a stick that had fell off a tree, and he proceeded to try and beat the lizard over the head with it as the beast killed the troop that it had taken down!
The stick only managed to piss the beast off, letting out a growl as it slowly looked up towards the soldier that was annoying it. Baring it's teeth laced with venomous saliva, Floyd dug into his tactical vest pocket to pull out a grenade.
"Are you trying to piss it off!?" Floyd screamed as the soldier hurled the stick at the lizard only for it to bounce off of it's thick skin, the right hand man of Alan Jonah pulled the pin on the grenade, and hurled it towards the lizard only for it to bounce off of it's head.
"Watch it!" Floyd shouted out as some soldiers rushed away from the vicinity of the blast, but the trooper that once held the stick was tackled by the lizard. He immediately protected his throat with his forearm, and he felt the teeth of the lizard pierce through his vest and thick clothing, causing him to growl in pain. He looked over to see the grenade, and he quickly grabbed hold of it before jamming down the throat of the lizard.
The grenade would end up exploding within the lizard, ultimately killing it by blowing the beast up from the inside. The blast still being strong enough to kill the soldier that the beastly lizard had tackled. The guts of the meat eater, and it's blood, flying everywhere, some of the bodily contents even landing on the other troops!
"That's two good men we've just lost, Jonah. How many more are we going to have get killed!?" Floyd shouted, Alan Jonah groaned in annoyance as he turned back around to face his greatest soldier yet.
"We'll lose as much as we need to before we reach that outpost, it shouldn't be too far from here considering where we've landed at on the island. Keep your eyes peeled, and stay as close as you can to one another so maybe we won't die as much!" Alan Jonah barked.
(Location: Outpost 62)
"Dr. Miles, the radars have detected that an ERR airship has crash landed on the island." A panicking scientist told another one about suspicious activity being picked up close to the outpost near the Eastern shore of Monster Island.
"Shouldn't be a cause for concern." Dr. Miles grumbled.
"Well, Mr. Miles, the ape has been acting not like his normal self. He has been pissed off ever since he downed that airship, and I've been closely studying him for the past ten years. Kong hasn't calmed down even though he destroyed the source of that zeppelin, there must be some survivors. God knows how many of them survived." Dr. Ilene Andrews said as she entered the break room where the scientists were sitting at and eating some food.
Ilene Andrews was known as an anthropological linguist, meaning that she closely studied humanity and their biology, cultures, and societies. They had close contact with the Iwi tribe on Monster Island ever since Outpost 33 had been built, and if you wanted to go even further back, perhaps when Aaron Brooks crash landed with his crew on the island back in the mid 1990s.
Dr. Andrews had been working with the Iwi for a while, and got to learn a lot about their mythology, way of life, and how they interacted with Kong. Some of the Iwi that actually spoke told the Monarch employee about telepathy, and how some various cultures from around the world came to communicate with various titans. A perfect example of this would be Mothra and the Shobijin.
It was said that Kong was rumored to have telepathic powers, and he did. No one knew if he had it with any of the humans though, it was only at that point a long standing rumor, but with reports of telepathy between certain titans and certain humans, there wasn't so much more doubt.
"Relax, Dr. Andrews. I hope you realize that this island contains several dangers, those creatures of the Hollow Earth are getting more comfortable with the overworld. They'll surely pick off whoever has lived." Dr. Miles replied, sounding very confident that if there was any survivors of the ERR zeppelin's wreck, they would certainly die due to the creatures of the island, and he had good reason to believe so.
"As much as we don't like those people, they have proven to be resilient bastards. We must be on high alert at all times, especially when titan DNA is on the black market." Dr. Andrews warned, Dr. Miles snickered.
"If you feel uneasy, go tell the guards to double up the defenses. If the kingdom of horrors out there doesn't get to the bad guys, then our guards can. We only have weapons that can take down megafauna, there is no way they can defend against that type of firepower." Dr. Miles responded.
(Location: Monster Island field)
"What's that?" One of the soldiers asked, pointing to something in the distance.
"A termite mound?" A soldier answered, except his voice was filled with confusion, and it was just a guess.
"No, it's something much bigger." Floyd replied to them both, the closer the group got to the large mound, they realized that it towered over them, and it was much more massive in scale than a tall termite mound. This was a Hollow Earth Vent, something that any creature could come crawling out of...
"We need to get as far away from that thing as possible." Alan Jonah said, and he began to walk faster to try and lead his group of troops away from this dangerous spot.
Suddenly, a large flock of leafwings emerged from the tree tops. Something had awoken them from their slumber, which made the troops look around, staying alert for any creatures that could make the flying creatures react that way...
The ground began to tremble lightly, but the intensity grew even further while they stood still. Something large had to have been moving beneath the ground, as the troops began to notice the ground moving around...
"We need to move." Floyd warned, a large explosive boom rocked the area as the large jagged rocks began to rise up in the distance.
"Methuselah?!" Jonah barked, balling his fist as he began to back away.
Alan Jonah had knowledge of several titans that were once in Monarch's containment, but they didn't believe that Methuselah couldn't make it to Monster Island with his weight, and how slow he moved.
Finally, the ground began to burst close to them. A low growl was heard echoing across the field, the troops immediately began to open fire as they started to back away from the large beast, whose body was camouflaged with the ground around him.
Dirt, and soil freely fell from the top of the beasts head, and back. It's large yellow eyes seemingly glowing as they glared at the troops down at it's front. This was a megafauna beast, originating from the Hollow Earth. One hundred and thirty one feet in length, it was huge.
It's body was like an armored tank, and the rocky ground had naturally fused into his back. This beasts name was Magular, and he belonged in the same titan family as Titanus Methuselah. Monarch didn't name this beast, nor did any other organization. It was his name according to ancient peoples of the Hollow Earth
Now although Kong could sense evil humans on the island, and he didn't care if the megafauna or titans killed them, Magular was still something that came from the Hollow Earth, and was therefore prohibited on the surface.
Kong's duty when Godzilla was not around, was to guard the overworld on Monster Island to prevent any titans or megafauna from the inner world from coming to the overworld. Although it may seem as sort of a dick move from Godzilla and Kong, they had no idea what existed within the depths of the Earth. Titans that ranged from different sizes to higher levels of danger lived within the inner world, the deeper you went, the more monstrous and brutish the beasts were.
Magular continued to march slowly towards the humans, baring his large fang like teeth at the people that trespassed upon the lands where he slept. He felt the insignificant prick of bullets connecting with his rocky body, practically feeling no pain at all. The humans were helpless, and powerless to this monster.
As the rocky brute began to rise his gigantic claw up, ready to crush the tiny bug sized humans, but before he could bring the punishment, a loud guttural roar filled the air. It was the mighty booming howl of Kong himself, Magular's reaction said it all!
The rocky monster shuttered, baring his teeth with both fear, and defiance. The monster roared, resisting Kong's order to head back into the deep hollows. The humans began to retreat as far as they could back from whence they came, hiding in the shade of the Hollow Earth vent which towered over them. The ground rumbled as Kong began to run towards the rocky brute, roaring viciously.
Magular stood his ground, and pawed at it like a bull preparing to charge, snorting hatefully. Large gusts of wind shooting from his nostrils, Kong stopped, slamming his axe down to the ground, the dorsal plate blade of the axe lodging itself into the ground! Kong would then proceed to pound the ground with his arms, once, twice, thrice, before finally pounding his chest a few times while letting out deep guttural growls, and threatening roars to the one that would not submit.
Kong's intimidation display was enough to send the rocky brute retreating into the Hollow Earth vent, sending Magular back from where he originated. However, the gigantic ape was aware of the evil humans still on the island that was once only his. The guardian of the island instantly spotted Alan Jonah, and his crew, and the amber eyes of the ape narrowed as he snarled at them.
Floyd, trying to be a badass, raised up one of his hands, and flipped the gigantic monkey off with a middle finger. Kong was confused by this at first, he was taught sign language a little bit by one of the children of the Iwi Village, but he had never once seen this gesture used before.
Kong snorted, before picking up his axe, and walked away from the humans. The mighty ape was still certain that these humans would be picked off, and he would have let Magular kill them had it not been for the rule that Godzilla had set in stone, no monster from the deep hollows should come to the surface.
"What was the point of that?" Alan Jonah groaned, rubbing his face into the palm of his hand due to how irritating Floyd could be at some times.
"I can't stand that bastard." Floyd growled, still enraged that the giant gorilla had downed their airship, something that he claimed could bring the ape down.
"I'm pretty sure he doesn't care, now let's keep moving before we wake something else up that he lets kill us." Alan Jonah grumbled, leading his men ahead further into the distance, trying to find Outpost 62.
(An hour later)
After walking through a massive field, Alan Jonah and his men would eventually enter the dense jungle once more. They had crossed the two gigantic skeletons that were Kong's parents.
They had been walking in this jungle for around thirty minutes now, nothing seemed to be bothering them. The usual annoyances got in the way in the form of thick shrub and brush that Alan Jonah hacked, and sliced his way through using his machete.
His men stayed on high alert, for they had already lost a few by getting attacked by that large lizard way earlier. Something that they noticed is that the several deadly creatures of the island weren't around as much as they were many years ago. Theories were thrown around that Ghidorah had something to do with it, others said that Godzilla's crowning sent them all back into hiding.
Now there were still some of those monsters roaming around the island, such as that lizard, and a few others. However, they were as active as they once were.
"I'm surprised not many of us have died yet." A soldier said, trying to say it in a joking tone, but it came off as nervous than anything else.
"That isn't right." Alan Jonah said, getting some of the soldiers to give each other incredulous looks back and forth to each other...
"What do you mean?" Floyd asked to his superior.
"This island's predators should be more active, hell, I haven't seen that much of the herbivores and prey around here that much. Something isn't right about this island at all, something is causing the wildlife to become more...inactive." Alan Jonah explained, bringing closure to his men's confusion.
"So something bigger, and meaner is causing this island to die in terms of diverse predators and prey?" A soldier asked the former M16 Agent.
"Yes, it's exactly what I think." The old man replied.
"Whatever it is needs to be pretty nasty, for something to cause an entire ecosystem to act differently." Floyd added on, his voice sounding concerned.
"It must be as powerful as Monster Zero." A trooper said.
"Why do you say that?" Alan Jonah asked.
"This entire island has been acting differently than it used to, the predators and the prey are not as active as they were before. If the things they say about this island are true, then I was expecting something far worse than what we've went through already. The last time entire ecosystems were altered to such an extent was when Monster Zero was alive, things are still in repair from the Mass Awakening in 2019. Now you got an entire island that is acting differently after things are somewhat calming down." The trooper explained his reasoning for believing that whatever had significantly changed the wildlife's behavior on Monster Island, must be pretty powerful.
"Well, let's hope whatever it is doesn't screw with our plans." Alan Jonah said with a grin, continuing to lead his men through the jungle.
All so suddenly, a trooper began to gasp for air, dropping her rifle as she reached up for her neck with both hands.
"H-help help!" She cried out before a loud crack was heard, her head being jerked to the side after being lifted into the air, and pulled back into the jungle.
"What the hell is going on?!" Another trooper cried out right before a loud snap was heard, and his body was seen falling in half as he screamed in agony!
"Protect the leaders!" Another soldier exclaimed, and the troops quickly formed a circle around Alan Jonah and Floyd Sanders.
Another trooper had his rifle suddenly ripped from his arms, and then he grasped his neck as he struggled to breathe similar to the female soldier from earlier. The trooper was then jerked into the jungle, letting out a scream of terror!
"They're in the trees!" A soldier cried out before he was knocked to the ground by an unseen force, a few other troopers were knocked over as well!
"I suggest that we get down immediately." Alan Jonah advised Floyd, and the two men crouched into a ball to try and hide themselves from whatever threat was attacking them.
"Fire at all angles, torch the jungle if you need to!" Floyd barked, wanting the men and women to exterminate whatever was attacking them at the moment.
The thunder of the heavy assault rifles filled the air as the bullets shredded through the brush, and the shrubs that was within the jungle. The troops could hear the bullets whizzing past the trees, connecting with the wood, stripping them of their bark when they connected, putting holes in the wood, and even knocking some of the thin limbs and sticks from them.
"Torch it!" Floyd screamed, his instructions causing one of the troops to pull a grenade out from their tactical vest, hurling it into the jungle as far as he could. Now a good few of the troops had already been jerked into the darkness of the jungle, being slain by whatever was attacking them.
When the grenade burst, a creature was flung into the air, it's large body coming to the ground again with a thud, the large bush breaking beneath it's weight when it landed!
"Enemy down!" A troop shouted before pulling a grenade from her pocket, and hurling it into the jungle. Once again, when it burst, another reptilian screech was heard as it's body was launched into the air!
Then the attacking ceased, and one of the soldiers headed over the corpse of one of the lizard people to examine it. The scales were rough like a crocodiles scales, and they apparently had the ability to blend in to their surroundings like chameleons, hence why they were able to remain hidden during their sudden attack. These creatures also had an extendable tongue as well, and they stood on two legs.
"Where the hell did these come from?" Floyd asked, looking beside him at Alan Jonah, who was just as bewildered as he was.
"I don't know, I've never seen these things before." Alan Jonah grumbled, clearing his throat as he looked around at the corpses of the men and women that were downed by these lizard freaks.
"Think they may have come from the Hollow Earth too?" A soldier questioned with a raised eyebrow, examining one of the creature's downed corpse.
"More than likely, that's where I would expect lizard people to come from." Floyd replied.
"We need to keep moving, everyone stay close, eyes up, stay sharp." Alan Jonah commanded, and the soldiers got into a tight formation as they continued to march their leaders towards the outpost.
(Not too long later...)
The troops continued to head further Northeast, eyes looking out for any sort of building that climbed into the sky like the mountains on this island. So far, nothing had attacked them. They felt as though they were incredibly lucky to have not been hunted down by any other predators that could probably be lurking on the island.
"What's that?" A trooper asked, pointing to something in the distance. This caught the attention of all the others, when they looked into the direction of where the female soldier was pointing, they noticed what appeared to be the top of a building that was just barely seen behind one of the mountains.
"That must be the outpost, let's move." Alan Jonah ordered, and it was then that the troops began to make their way towards what they believed to be the outpost. First they had to go through some thick jungle, thankfully, they didn't come across any other predators of the island.
As they made their way through the foliage, they started to hear some indistinct chattering among humans, as well as what could be large machinery moving about. A woman was also speaking over the intercom, this had to have been the outpost.
"The only thing we need is to find the map of the island, and once we obtain it, we'll locate the Iwi village." Alan Jonah explained.
"They aren't going to hand it to us without a fight." Floyd warned, Alan Jonah turned to the troops that weren't as numerous as they would be had Kong not destroyed the armored zeppelin.
"Why do you think I've brought these people with us?" Alan Jonah asked with a slight grin, Floyd turned to face the troops that had came along with them.
"It's not enough..." Floyd sighed with a hint of worry in his voice.
"It will be." Jonah answered to Floyd's worries.
The original plan in terms of entering the island was to have a hostile takeover of it, the end goal was to ultimately kill Kong if Godzilla couldn't be stopped, the big ape was next in line to be destroyed. Contained within the armored zeppelin was hundreds of soldiers, well trained troops, as well as several scientists. They would first take over the Monarch outpost on the Northeastern region of the island, followed by the Iwi Village, and then they would have the other important members of the mission play a part in taking out Kong.
Alan Jonah unexpectedly reached into the pocket of a soldier standing next to him, pulling out a grenade. He cut his way through the foliage to see a large door, a fortress had been built around the outpost, this grenade would no doubt, open up the wall they were standing in front of.
"Take position, it's about to get nasty." The British madman warned, the troops went into cover, some going behind trees, others hiding behind large bushes. A few other troops took cover in the shade, using the dark coloring on their uniforms to their advantage. Their rifles trained at the wall at their front.
"One grenade isn't going to do the trick." Floyd said in protest, but Alan Jonah was quick to reply.
"Two will."
(Meanwhile, inside of the outpost)
"Any updates on Kong?" Ilene Andrews asked Dr. Miles, who was sitting in the front of a large monitor with several screens on it. One screen was a satellite that hovered far above the island, in orbit like the International Space Station.
"I've detected him moving towards the Southern end of the island, probably going on his daily strolls." Dr. Miles replied, Dr. Andrews approached him, staring at the monitor.
"Zoom in, let's get a closer look." She advised, Dr. Miles clicked on the red circle, which was Kong's tracker.
"Get me the readings of his pulse." The woman said, Dr. Miles clicked on a label that said "bio-readings," and what came up was various signals such as his heart rate, his bio-acoustics, as well as his temperature, including a couple other readings, one of them giving a reading of Kong's bio-electrical powers.
When his pulse came up, his heartbeat seemed to be faster than normal, as a matter of fact, his heart was racing. The satellite shown that the big ape wasn't running either, so he must be very angry, or very afraid of something, or someone.
"Something's wrong...check his bio-acoustics." Dr. Andrews suggested, and so Dr. Miles done as his co-worker told him to do, despite being her superior.
Kong was growling, and he didn't sound nervous, but angry. It was as if he was trying to intimidate something, or felt that something was off, many didn't know this, but the guardian of the island had telepathic abilities, and could see when things were about to take a turn for the worst.
Kong had a vision of MechaGodzilla, the alien one, and he also had a vision of Bagorah, and the Gryphon, before their destruction even started. Right now, he was seeing a great gunfight going on at Outpost 62, and he was on his way towards it...
Suddenly, Dr. Miles' phone vibrated within his pocket, and he pulled it out to see what message he had received. It was not from a co-worker, but it was from one of the G-Team colonels, Laura Belinsky.
Kenny Anderson, and Laura Belinsky had been called in to try and stop two titan DNA smugglers who were on the run after obtaining Kong's DNA, their next target was Godzilla's DNA, planning to create their own titan by mixing Godzilla and Kong's DNA to create a brute that the world wasn't ready for, they also had plans to use Ghidorah's DNA as well to make things even worse, this plan by Apex was known as 'Project Prometheus.'
"What's going on?" Dr. Andrews asked upon seeing the shocked expression on her superior's face, he placed his phone down, and told her what had been texted to him by Laura.
"Titan DNA smugglers, believed to be with Apex, are trying to pick up Godzilla's DNA, they've already got Kong's." He warned.
"What in God's name are they doing with the DNA?" Dr. Andrews asked herself, sounding worried at whatever Apex was planning to do.
"Laura also told me that we should be on the lookout fo-"
Suddenly the lights within the room turned into a bright red that flashed on and off at a slow rate, an alarm blared within the room, and down the hallway.
A soldier barged into the room, holding a rifle in his arms, something was going on outside of this building, and whatever it was could potentially be a huge problem.
"We've got trouble, something is trying to take down a portion of the Western wall of the fort, and whatever is causing the issue, is coming damn close to breaking in. I want everyone in this room to find the tunnels, the tunnels are linked to safe houses that are built within a patch of jungle close by." The African American soldier spoke up in a stern tone, he was clearly ready to fight, and wasn't in the mood for talking now.
"You heard the man, let's get moving!" Dr. Miles shouted, his nervous voice filling the room as the other scientists followed after him into the hallway, to the left side of the hall were other scientists heading for the elevators that would take them underground where several tunnels would be, these tunnels were large enough to fit busses within them, basically the size of a tunnel you would see on an interstate that goes through a mountain.
(Back outside)
Several troops had already taken cover behind large equipment, and machinery. Their guns were trained at the large wall in which smoke was seeping through at a small opening at the bottom, it wasn't big enough for a person to squeeze through, but big enough for smoke, or any other form of misty elements to fizzle in. The hearts within their chests pounded like a war drum.
The threat outside of the wall wasn't numerous enough to outnumber them, but it would be foolish to underestimate the troops of the ERR, for the ERR has done major damage to Monarch over the years of their rivalry, and has killed several notable names.
Finally, an explosion blasted open a massive hole in the wall, taking precisely two grenades to get through the thick material. As soon as it was destroyed, rapid gunfire was heard coming from behind the dense cloud of smoke, several guards of the outpost were killed within seconds, for they couldn't see their enemy. The shots of the ERR troops were accurate for they were wearing thermal.
Like said in the past, the ERR were seemingly always one step ahead of our heroes.
"Fire into the smoke, you can at least hit one of them can't you!" A trooper shouted, and so the guards of the outpost began to unleash hellfire blindly into the smoke.
Outside of the destroyed wall, Alan Jonah, and his ERR troops were hiding in cover. They could hear the bullets zip past their heads, and they could also hear the bullets smashing into trees with loud pops, some bullets ripped through the bushes, striking one of the soldiers down, but several remained.
Two soldiers from the ERR squadron hurled grenades into the outpost through the destroyed wall, taking the guards within by surprise, and killing several of them at one go.
"Go!" Alan Jonah screamed, and a few ERR troops rushed through the smoke, hip firing at their targets, however, they walked into blind fire from their enemies, as several more guards came pouring out from the buildings within outpost, armed, and ready to defend.
The ERR troops that attempted to rush in were downed quickly when walking into the open, however, they still managed to take down quite a few guards, enough for the apparent leader of a bunch consider falling back.
It was then that another grenade burst, killing several more guards, and this was enough for the troops as they all started to dart back towards the buildings, trying to get in spots where there was more plentiful cover for them.
"Fall back!" A soldier was heard screaming, this was the cue that Alan Jonah needed to advance into the outpost, surrounded by the rest of the troops as well as Floyd who stood at his side.
Meanwhile, on the inside of a building. Ilene Andrews was listening in on the chaos that was unfolding on the outside. She could hear people screaming, explosive devices going off, machinery, and equipment was falling over as the fighting grew closer towards her.
Dr. Andrews had made a gutsy decision, she was going to stay in the outpost instead of leaving it, and she had an idea on how to stay hidden from the villainous ERR, or to just avoid the chaos if it got inside of a building.
When she entered the hallway, she noticed several troopers rushing down towards her, they seemed to be in retreat of the enemy outside, which told Dr. Andrews all she needed to know about what was going on.
"Get your ass into the tunnels, it isn't safe!" A soldier shouted before taking cover behind a large case, the contents within were various equipment.
Shots were heard ringing out down the hallway, and around the corner, the action was getting even closer. Dr. Andrews moved with haste into the next room, which was a laboratory, large tubes were connected to the walls with the bodies of the island's carnivores, and herbivores. On various tables were test tubes, and other scientific equipment. On the wall next to hear was a vent on the floor, figuring she had no other place to hide, she headed over towards a desk, opening it up to try and find something to open the vent with, since it was screwed shut.
While Dr. Andrews frantically rummaged through the cluttered desk in hopes of finding a screwdriver, the shots continued to grow louder, and more intense. Men were falling on both sides in the hallway, and she didn't see who was winning this fight.
"Monarch cunts!" Dr. Andrews heard the distinctive country accent of Floyd Sanders screaming like a madman down the hall, this caused her to pull out the drawer in a fit of panic, the drawer hitting the floor with a loud thud, as the cluttered items contained within it spilled out all over the floor, making a mess.
"Watch out, everybody move!" A soldier was heard screaming, his voice filled with surprise, and terror. A grenade had been thrown, and he noticed it rolling down the hall towards them. As soon as he screamed to warn his comrades, it was too late, the grenade burst, generating an explosion that killed most of them, save for a few who were at the end of the hall.
Dr. Andrews also felt the impact of the blast, having been thrown against a few tables, and smashing against a desk. Thankfully, she wasn't killed, but it hurt like a bitch, her ears were ringing from the how loud the explosion was since it was practically down the hall from her, one of the walls of the room had collapsed, a smoky haze started to fill the room.
She noticed a screwdriver laying next to a desk, and she finally had something to open up the vent with. The linguist weakly crawled over towards the tool, picking it up. In her mind, it was a race against time, she knew that the explosion had taken out several guards, and that there were only a few remaining.
"Do not let them get to the tunnels!" A soldier was heard screaming, apparently the ERR troops were advancing towards the guards through the smoke. The only way that the guards could tell was the noise of their boots on the polished floor.
After hastily moving to get the latch to the vent unscrewed, Dr. Andrews forcefully torn it from the wall, the latch making a clattering sound once it connected with the floor. She didn't waste any time in starting to crawl through the vent to get to another room while the fighting slowly came to a close on the outside of the laboratory.
Alan Jonah marched down the hall with a few more ERR troops behind him, having his hands on his hips as he examined the corpses of the fallen, feeling around for any loot with his boot.
"Tear this place apart, find me the map of this island, as well as any other things you deem worthy of taking." The British madman spoke, making sure everyone heard his voice loud, and clear.
The ERR troops began to search through the rooms, knocking over equipment, opening and shutting drawers, checking closets, doing anything to try and find anything of value.
Eventually, a troop came up to Alan Jonah with a folded up paper. He unraveled it to discover that it was a map of the whole island! A couple more troops approached him with other things that could be of use.
One of the troops revealed another Hollow Earth entrance was located within the Marianas Trench, not only was there a Hollow Earth entrance, but radiation had been steadily growing at a rapid pace, but then it would calm down.
Another troop revealed to Alan that Monarch was using other equipment as well, they were in the blueprint stages so they hadn't even started production of these experiments, but now that Alan had his hands on the schematics, he could use these devices against Monarch.
"Excellent, now we will rule Monster Island with undisputed power. Once we get Kong out of our hair, we will have dominance over the land." Alan Jonah promised darkly with a growing smirk on his face.
Ilene Andrews heard every word that he said, and the linguist began to fear for Kong, and the other inhabitants of Monster Island, having a bad feeling things were about to take a dark turn in a heartbeat...
