(Chapter 11: Kong escapes, part 2)
(Location: Tunnel)
Mechani-Kong was using the rocket boosters that were on his back plating to fly through the large tunnel that Apex had created specifically for their titans to travel through, the insane speeds at which the maglev cars could travel through provided the cyborg with enough velocity to reach the Monarch Arctic facility in no time at all.
Its enemy was Kong, and every single employee of Monarch was an enemy as well. No mercy, just destroy. The systems had been powered down for now as the cyborg could be controlled by Walter while he stayed at the Apex base within Seattle, Washington. Behind the yellow glowing eyes were cameras that were broadcasting live feed to the base, allowing for Walter and his personnel to see what all was happening.
It could detect the HEAVs that Monarch had stolen were somewhere under the Arctic, the cyborg had been programmed to not enter the Hollow Earth due to the unknown dangers that existed within the inner world, so it would wait until Kong arrived back to the surface before attacking.
(Location: Hollow Earth)
As everyone began to depart from their HEAVs, several sagoth warriors came running up to them all wielding swords and spears, the sharp edges of them made out of obsidian. These things were lethal in combat and provided the simian humanoids victory almost every time they fought against their enemies.
With the humans surrounded, they knew there would be nothing they could do against their hideous looking foes. Being forced to surrender to the sagoths as Captain Gordon threw his arms up to signal his submission.
"It's been a while, you bunch of freaks..." Laura said with hatred in her tone of voice, she remembered when she had her battalion fight against a horde of these fiends on the Golden Gate Bridge and how they were almost defeated until Godzilla shown up and saved the humans from certain doom.
Jia cowered in fear next to her foster mother, Dr. Andrews who she herself was deeply afraid of these sagoth humanoids. Never once did Ilene want to get involved with these creatures but now she had to, she no longer had a say.
After a few intense minutes of being stared down by the vicious sagoth guardsmen, Tamurka let outa signal to disperse them so he could see the human hostages now.
"What did you think was going to happen?" He asked with a grin as he approached our heroes who all stared towards the slaver with both curiosity and anger.
"I didn't know humanity still existed down here." Laura said to herself that to which Tamurka had heard her say.
"Humanity has existed down her for billions of years and still they thrive. What makes you think that we would have perished?" Tamurka explained.
"I thought the titans would have killed your asses a long time ago." Laura replied.
"Shame, we've enslaved the titans. Look at your beloved Kong, all chained up. I was told by Ren Serizawa that just thirteen years ago Kong fought Godzilla, now look what we've reduced him to. A slave in chains..." Tamurka answered coldly.
The Monarch personnel went silent, not knowing what they could do against their captors now and to save Kong. It was Tamurka who would speak up again.
"How did you all even discover where he was, we have no traitors here. Every slave and every king of Pellucidar are loyal to the higher ups. They are loyal to Emperor Serizawa, there is no way you could have came here!" Tamurka barked until he noticed Jia glancing over towards Kong with a sorrowful expression.
Tamurka, being raised in the Hollow Earth, was taught of the symbiotic relationships certain titans have with other beasts, as well as the mysterious telepathic connections between certain humans and titans. Having knowledge of this mystical element, he immediately and correctly jumped to the conclusion that Jia had a telepathic bond with the mighty ape.
"Ah, the girl..." The slaver said with a menacing smile as he approached Jia and got into a kneeling position with a mock of a friendly smile as he brushed his rough calloused hands through her silky smooth hair.
"Keep your hands off her!" Dr. Andrews screamed as she went to retaliate but the sagoths moved in closer with their deadly weapons that was aimed either at their head, throat, or chests.
"Oh, I wouldn't dare fight back now. You're surrounded by my sagoth guards, you stand no chance..." He warned as he waved his finger before turning his attention back towards Jia.
As Tamurka stared deeply into her eyes, he retracted his hand from her head and placed it on the ground at her feet, she looked confused but her eyes went wide when she discovered what he was doing...
Come with me, I can get you closer to Kong A voice was heard in her head, she had never heard a voice before, not any that spoke English. She was astounded but all at the same time she didn't trust Tamurka. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he wasn't going to get her closer with Kong at all, it was a setup.
I'm sorry, but I refuse your offering Jia signed in response, getting a disappointed look from the slaver.
You don't have much of a choice Tamurka replied hatefully as he gently took Jia by the hand and began to pull her away from the rest of her friends and foster mother, she squirmed and fought with all of her might but unfortunately she was only a kid and couldn't put up much of one whatsoever.
"Jia! No!" Dr. Andrews exclaimed as she witnessed her adopted child being dragged off towards one of the obsidian towers, the central one where the collar was attached.
The Monarch personnel began to fidget around frantically but that only got those obsidian blades of the sagoths closer to their bodies, practically pinning them all against each other. Tears of fear streamed down Dr. Andrews' face, scared for what Tamurka might do to Jia now that he was alone with her.
The heart within Jia's chest pounded from anxiety as she noticed two large iron doors opening with a press of a button, allowing her and her captor inside of the central obsidian tower that climbed at least eight hundred feet in the air. It was sturdy enough to stand but it wouldn't be able to widthstand the impact of a titan attack at all.
Jia, having a decent amount of knowledge of how technology worked overseas from Monster Island, was surprised at the tech in which the people of the Hollow Earth had. Once they were inside of the tower everything within looked futuristic while almost everything on the outside looked ancient or primitive.
Control panels ran up and down the walls of the inside, there was a flight of spiral stairs that would slowly lead up to the top while in a central column was what seemed to be an elevator.
How do they have all this stuff? Jia thought to herself as she was dragged towards the elevator, the doors sliding open slowly following the press of a button.
The fear only grew worse within the child's mind, she had a strange feeling of the task about to be forced upon her and she didn't like what she thought it was going to be. Her lips began to tremble and her eyes began to water, on the verge of crying.
The elevator began to rumble as it began to rise upwards towards the top floor of the tower and Jia could feel the vibrations of the rattling through her body starting at her feet. Tamurka smirked as he could tell the child was on the verge of tears and so he placed his hand on the wall while the elevator shook to send another telepathic message to her.
There are others like him, don't be worried. Tamurka spoke causing Jia to let out a sob as she covered her nose and mouth as the tears began to fall from her eyes, this caused the slaver to snicker coldly as they finally reached the top of the tower, the iron doors sliding open.
As they stepped out there was another doorway to their right and left, presumably being the entrance to the stairway down to the bottom of the tower. They were on a large balcony of sorts with a guardrail to prevent people from falling, the sheer plummet down from the menacing height made Jia's stomach drop as they were eight hundred and fifty feet in the air.
Tamurka would guide Jia over to a control panel on the wall where several glowing buttons and a few levers were seen. Next to one lever was a lightning symbol of sorts that had different colors, red at the top and blue on the bottom this was what indicated the amount of voltage that would be sent towards the enslaved titan, the top being used to kill. The other lever would be pulled down to send the shock towards the titan, she didn't know what the buttons were for, she assumed that they were controls for the interior systems of the tower.
Jia took a glance over at Kong with tears in her eyes as he was seen looking over his shoulder with a defeated look in his eyes that killed the child on the inside to see, she hated him seeing depressed or scared and she hated what these Hollow Earth bastards had done to him. Tamurka grabbed her hands and positioned them on the levers for her, a tear was seen leaving Kong's eye as he knew what she would do seconds from now...
Meanwhile down at the bottom of the towers, Captain Gordon had a plan to get out of this situation. He gently nudged Laura while all the sagoths were focused on what would happen to Kong.
When I draw my katana out and bring it back into the monkey fuck behind me, duck. Repeat this message to the others He mouthed to her, she nodded her head before nudging Ilene Andrews to get her attention.
When Captain Gordon draws out his sword and brings it back, duck. Spread the message to Vergil Laura mouthed.
They would repeat this message until everyone that was currently at the mercy of the sagoth's received it.
Back up at the top of the tower Jia shut her eyes slowly and after a moment of controlling her breathing, she would feel herself floating. When she opened her eyes again, she would be standing in front of Kong when in reality she was at the top of the obsidian tower, astral projecting herself down to the ground. Astral projection or out of body experiences were common for the Iwi people, they didn't truly know what it was nor did they know the name of this capability but they treated it as a gift. The only things she was focused on was Kong and herself, everything around the two was a dark void.
I'm going to save you Jia signed to Kong with tears rolling down her cheeks.
Don't be afraid She continued before opening up her eyes once again after imagining herself being at the top of the tower, now she was back in reality instead of the astral world or the spirit world.
Jia then brought the switches up and down, Tamurka laughed wickedly for a moment until he noticed that Kong wasn't dead or shaking violently from being electrocuted at the highest voltage. He took a quick glance over to the panel to notice that Jia had set the voltage to the lowest and the shock didn't even harm Kong in the slightest, it just sent a cool sensation running through his body!
Kong, ready to fight back now, let out a mighty roar to the heights above as he brutishly jerked his arm forward which snapped the chain from one of the obsidian towers with a thunderous boom!
"You fool!" Tamurka screamed furiously as he scooped up the child and marched towards the guard railing, Jia fought and squirmed which distracted him from throwing her over.
Kong tore his right arm forward again and once more pulled out the chain and pulley system from the tower to his right and behind him, loads of obsidian crumbling to the ground as the entire two towers that had the shackles and chains connected to them began to fall!
The ape then reached up as quickly as he could and crushed the collar that was around his neck, literal tons of rusty iron went crashing to the ground below him. The sound of a large chain smacking into the ground was heard seconds later as the chain was no longer connected to the collar now that it was destroyed.
It was then that Captain Gordon drew his katana blade from his sheath with a defeated sigh, the sagoths had their attention on the humans now as they drew their blades even closer to them. One of them noticed that Gordon was lifting the sword up as if he was about to drive it into his own gut to commit an act of seppuku or something similar.
"Duck!" Captain Gordon screamed as he jerked his blade back forcefully to stab into the gut of one of the sagoths, causing the simian humanoid to shriek in agony. He ducked as well as the other humans to time it perfectly as the other sagoths lunged forward to go for the kill only to have their weapons graze off of each other and stab into themselves!
"Scatter!" Gordon cried out as the humans began to crawl away, some of them immediately fighting back against them!
Vergil Snow would rush into one of the sagoths and powered up with his legs to lift up the enemy and slam it down with authority! The impact of the slam was enough to get the fiendish threat to let go of it's obsidian blade.
Laura Belinsky would perform a double legged takedown to another sagoth that was still standing and quickly mounted it. She intertwined her legs with the fiend's legs into a grapevine pin as she brought her gloved hands over its mouth to prevent it from biting her, the takedown would result in this respective sagoth releasing its spear.
Captain Gordon would stand up and spin around to quickly slice off the head from a sagoth that had moved in behind him, a plume of blood squirting from where the head used to be. He looked to his right to see a sagoth coming towards Laura who was still mounting the sagoth under her, the old captain would throw his katana towards the simian fiend and it would pierce its skull through the mouth, killing it instantly and saving her life!
Carson Michaels stood up to see a sagoth moving towards him to go for a slash at his neck with an obsidian sword, he would duck under the dark colored blade and ram his elbow into the gut of his foe which knocked it back enough for him to draw out his pistol and unload two rounds into the gaping maw of the sagoth, blood shooting from the back of the head, it was dead.
It was at this point the three sagoths that were still standing retreated towards the city to alert the others, it was crunch time now.
Captain Gordon would take out a pistol and unload a round into the forehead of the sagoth in which was violently struggling under Laura to finish it off while the blonde had it pinned beneath her.
All at the same time, Tamurka had hurled Jia over the edge and she let out a cry of fear as she began to plummet towards her death, Kong noticed this as he turned around. She was falling at an alarming rate towards the ground!
The large ape hurled himself at the central tower to try and break her fall, Jia would end up landing into a mass of shaggy hair that coated his upper body like football pads, softening up her fall only slightly as the impact ultimately still knocked the wind out of her. The impact that Kong's shoulder made to the tower was enough to make it begin to crumble which Tamurka felt.
"Damn you!" The slaver cried out as the massive primate crawled back all while Jia held on for dear life to the large patch of fur she had landed in, the rest of the tower continued to crumble, taking Tamurka down with it!
"We must get to the HEAVs, quickly!" Captain Gordon yelled as he rushed towards one of the aircraft, the rest followed after him as fast as they could. Kong had escaped his chains and now it was time to get back up to the surface.
Jia continued to hold on tightly to Kong's back as he ran on all fours towards the mountain before jumping up with a great vertical leap! The primate grabbed hold of the hillside before starting to scale it, he would no longer be mining from it and that he was thankful for.
As Kong vanished over the top of the massive hill in just a few vertical bounds, the HEAVs would follow after him a couple of minutes later. Going at full speed after their primate ally as they all began to head back towards the Hollow Earth portal.
(Location: Tunnel)
It was close, the cyborg knew it for sure as well. Mechani-Kong curled up the large metallic gauntlets for hands into fists. The cyborg ape continued to use a mixture of the boosters on its back as well as the technology of the tunnel to swiftly carry it towards the Antarctic facility that still stood.
The cyborg saw darkness at the end of the light tunnel, indicating that a large iron door was there blocking the way through to the other side where the unsuspecting Monarch officials and employees would be surely attacked and decimated.
Its systems could also detect that the HEAVs were coming towards the base again but they were still beneath the surface of the ice, it didn't matter. The aircraft would return to yet another destroyed Arctic facility, this would be the third one that was demolished. The first one was by Alan Jonah when he awoke Ghidorah, the second one was when Maguma ravaged it, and now this one would be destroyed by Mechani-Kong.
A bionic warbling sound came from within the cyborg, sounding similar to that of a devious chuckle...
