Davidab931: Naruto is the only person who can help himself with his trauma. But only if he wants to move forward. I know I said it was Pillarmen, but when Santana and Wham killed those soldiers, Awakening wasn't playing so I didn't mention it.

Chapter 8: Savage Tenacity
Alley…
Curled and shuddering was a familiar feline, its tail between its golden legs.
"Donatello… *Hic* Donatello…" Regulus cried sadly as it shuddered, tears streaming down its snout as it curled further.
Its eyes were sealed tightly shut, remembering it's master as he was.
Before…
'That boy.' Regulus thought, a memory of Naruto resurfacing.
Flashback…
Naruto's severed arm grabbing Donatello's side, his fingers stabbing into Donatello as it injected corrosive alkali into his torso as it started to rot him from within.
"MASTER!" Regulus shouted from within Donatello's mind.
"FUUUUUCK IT HURTS!" Donatello screamed in agony as the foamy substance continued to flood his blood stream.
"It worked better than I had thought." The being stated, three voices coming from Naruto's mouth as they forced Naruto's body to get up, his eyes narrowed to show they had turned red.
'What is with this kid?' Donatello noted as he took notice of Naruto's voice and eye changes.
Donatello winced in pain, his side spasming as the severed hand violently squeezed Donatello's side, spreading more of the substance into his body.
"WHAT DID YOU DO!" Donatello demanded as he fell to his knee, dropping Regulus (who vanished back inside of Donatello) to grab the hand, intending to force it to let go.
"MASTER, YOU NEED TO RUN!" Regulus shouted in Donatello's head. "WE NEED TO GET HELP!"
"My body secrets a corrosive alkali." The being explained as they squatted down to Donatello, grabbing his chin to force the man to look him in the eyes. "And yes, it's painful as it rots you from the inside out, but don't worry, your death is going to be different."
Through Donatello's eyes, Regulus felt fear impale its heart as it saw nothing but the promise of death.
Naruto's fingers slipped under Donatello's skin, as if he was slipping on a latex glove.
Regulus and Donatello let out guttural screams that were silenced as his head was pulled into Naruto's shoulder.
The cat features retreated into Naruto's body, allowing his skin to bleach itself white and became slimy as his eyes became slug like eye stocks.
Naruto's flesh rippled as he pulled Donatello further into him.
Regulus felt second hand as a intense sizzling, burning sensation upon contact with Naruto's body.
Donatello let out a muffled cry, his flesh dissolving as he was pushed even further as he painfully lost feeling in his face and body.
"MASTER!" Regulus shouted, which was all it could do as Donatello was pulled inside of Naruto, not a single trace of him left as Naruto's arm and torso began to rapidly grow back.
Within Naruto, Donatello and Regulus could say it was hell.
They were inside what they assumed was the stomach.
The substance they were sitting in started to erode and eat way at Donatello's flesh and clothing, leaving his bones before they started to be eaten away.
All Regulus could do was sit, trying to move as its power weakened within the 'stomach' of the being that devoured them.
As it weakened, it shrank, giving it more room.
Once small enough, it lunged toward a small tube upward.
It was a tight squeeze, forcing the stomach acid that coated its body to burn Regulus, but with its tenacity, it forced its way out, hitting the stone ground after several tense minutes, staring upward at Naruto after he puked it out.
Flashback End…
'That kid!' Regulus thought. 'THAT KID!'
The feline's spine tingled in anger, its miniscule magic flaring, a small spark.
'THAT KID!' regulus growled as it unfurled from the fetal position, planting its paws on the ground. 'IT'S ALL HIS FAULT!'
The spark of magic becoming a roaring inferno as the once cat sized lion let out a roar, which echoed on the streets of Athens as it regained its true size, cracking the walls of the buildings that surrounded it.
Next day, Litochoro…
"We will be right back, you too." Chisato said as she and Griselda walked away from the two children, going into a nearby building that had a large window, which allowed Naruto and Xenovia to be observed as they sat in the small park by the adults.
Naruto and Xenovia sat in silence as Naruto had his headphones over his ears, his music playing.
He glanced at Xenovia, who was sitting silently, looking anywhere but Naruto's direction.
Naruto deflated a bit, saddened due to the awkward silence that hung in the air like a fart in an elevator.
He sat up, determination in his eyes as he removed his headphones and put them and his CD player in his bag.
"Hey." He said, his chest tight in nervousness as he turned to face Xenovia. "Want to go play on the playset?"
"No," Xenovia replied in a dull tone, her face being neutral to the point she showed no emotion in her eyes as she politely faced him. "I am good."
Naruto deflated a bit as Xenovia turned away from him, but he took notice of something.
A small Spanish Stick insect was crawling in Xenovia's hair that was caressing her shoulder.
Naruto slowly reached out to grab it.
The Stick Insect saw his hand and moved aside, allowing Naruto's hand to bump into Xenovia.
Xenovia's eyes widened at the sudden contact on her shoulder.
Flashback…
Donatello's eyes squinted in pain, gritting his teeth.
He looked down and saw Naruto's hand gripping his side, digging hard enough to pierce his body, his blood soaking his clothing as the pain set it.
"FUUUUUCK IT HURTS!" Donatello screamed in agony as Naruto's white hand secreted a foamy substance that entered his blood stream.
Flashback End…
Xenovia shot off of the bench, slapping Naruto's hand off of her shoulder as her heart raced as she took deep breathes.
"DON'T TOUCH ME, MONSTER!" Xenovia screamed in a panic.
Naruto's body went cold at her words.
'Monster.' He thought as his heart dropped, his eyes starting to water.
'Oh, shit.' Xenovia thought as she realized what she had done when Naruto's head hung down.
"Okay, kids, we're back." Chisato sang as she and Griselda exited the building, Chisato's tone and face dropping when she saw the look on Xenovia's face and Naruto's slouched back. "Oh, is something wrong?"
Naruto wiped his nose with his wrist before getting his eyes.
"No," he mumbled as he stood up, grabbing his backpack. "There is nothing wrong."
Xenovia's face showed hurt and guilt as she pulled back her hand.
Griselda and Chisato were not dumb enough to not see there was an issue.
"Well, we do have some time before our flight," Chisato said as she approached the children, putting her hands on their shoulders. "Let's go get something to…"
Chisato's eyes widened before she gripped Naruto and Xenovia's shoulders tightly and pushed them to the ground several feet away from her.
Chisato gasped out in pain as her back hit the cement as Regulus the Nemean Lion pinned her to the ground, letting out an enraged roar.
Civilians screamed in terror as they fled.
"CHILDREN, RUN!" Griselda shouted as she ran toward the lion, summoning her holy sword, Durandal.
"WHERE IS HE!" Regulus shouted in Chisato's face, not noticing Naruto and Xenovia behind him as they got up and ran.
Naruto took Xenovia's wrist and fled, their minds racing hundreds of words a minute as they ran.
"I WILL KILL HIM FOR WHAT HE DID TO MASTER DONATELLO!" they heard Regulus shout from a distance before they turned at a street corner.
'We need to hide!' Naruto thought in panic as he felt parts of his flesh seemingly ripple like water, showing signs of transforming but returning to normal. 'I could fly, but then I would reveal my status as a fallen.'
Naruto stopped, turning to look behind him, Xenovia stopping as well when what seemed to be an explosion happened.
"CHISATO/GRISELDA!" they shouted as they wanted to run back there, but didn't.
"FOUND YOU!"
Naruto looked up and saw Regulus atop one of the buildings.
He was a giant metallic gold lion, slightly bigger than an average car.
As if struck in the head, Naruto's gripped his head in pain. It felt like his brain was rattling against his skull as the sclera of his eyes slowly fogged into a dull gray.
Regulus jumped from the roof as Naruto pulled Xenovia into an alley way.
"I'll find you, your scent will lead me straight to you!" Regulus proclaimed as he sniffed the air, catching their scents and took off in the alley.
He caught sight of Xenovia as the two turned a corner, prompting him to start the chase.
A trash can was thrown as he turned the corner, making Regulus avoid it, losing sight, but not scent of them.
Regulus dove through the alley, barreling through everything that he had to, dead set and laser focused on the death of the blond-haired boy.
He ran past multiple giant garbage bins.
Naruto held his hand over his mouth and his other hand over Xenovia's as they hid under bags of trash in one of the giant bins.
Naruto felt sick.
His headache was much worse than before as his vision started to blur, his muscles ached and holding them up as he was taking everything he had.
Xenovia could feel her heart pound within her eardrums as she prayed to God for safety in silence.
They heard Regulus run into the bin, both nearly screaming out in fear as the bin moved violently, banging against the wall.
Several seconds passed in silence.
His body seemingly giving out, Naruto's hands dropped as he gasped for air along side Xenovia.
Her eyes were wide as she cried, hyperventilating.
'We are going to die.' She thought over and over again, a harsh reality setting in.
Naruto gripped his head.
'No…' He thought as he felt his hands start to become coated in fur before it receded. 'No… I can't… I don't…'
"WHERE ARE YOU!" regulus shouted several dozens of feet away, realizing he had lost their scents. "WHEN I FIND YOU, I AM GOING TO KILL THE GIRL, MAKE YOU WATCH HELPLESSLY AS I DO SO YOU KNOW WHAT I HAD TO EXPERIENCE!"
Xenovia hiccupped as she instinctively grabbed Naruto, pushing her face into his body to muffle the sounds she made.
'I dragged Xenovia into this.' Naruto thought weakly, his sclera now black, the edges of his blue eyes tinting red. 'I should give myself up, that way, she won't suffer.'
His body jolted, rattling some of the trash surrounding the two, which was heard by Regulus.
As the lion doubled back, Naruto's headache worsened.
'I don't want to lose control.' Naruto thought as he spasmed. 'But if I let that lion kill me, no one else will get hurt.'
Naruto pushed Xenovia off of him, attempting to leave, only to be pulled back in.
"What are you doing?" Xenovia demanded in a choked tone.
"I'm leaving, I'll draw its attention away from you." Naruto stated as he tried to break her grip. "It wants me, so when I am far enough, go back to Chisato."
"YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!" Xenovia shouted in shock, grabbing onto Naruto's waist tightly.
"I FOUND YOU!" Regulus shouted as he rammed into the garbage bin with enough force to flip it into the air seven times and land on its side.
Naruto, Xenovia, and the trash rolled out, both of the kids being scuffed up from the asphalt.
"You thought you could hide from me!" Regulus growled as they got up, walking around them predatorially.
"Xenovia, run!" Naruto shouted as he pushed her behind him toward the alley entrance and ran toward Regulus. "JUST RUN!"
Regulus pounced Naruto.
As if DIO used The World, Naruto saw everything come to a stop in time.
Regulus's mighty clawed paw aiming for his head, intending to kill him.
Xenovia behind him to scared to move.
'If she can escape, I can die knowing she is safe.' Naruto thought as the lion's paw was centimeters from his skull.
Naruto felt a hand on his shoulder, causing him to turn to see it. It was ghostly, tangible, but translucent.
"We can't let you." Two voices said in unison. Two very familiar voices, one male and one female. "We are going to protect you."
His cerulean blue eyes became red as time resumed, his hand shooting up, smacking Regulus's paw upward, disrupting his attack and making him stagger backwards.
"Xenovia," Naruto said calmly as he widened his stance, prompting the young girl to look at him, watering eyes widening as she watched Naruto's body transform. "Stay behind me."
He looked like a fox, with two ears and a bushy tail sprouting from his spine, but his legs became digitigrade as he grew a few inches. Orange fur covered his body as his face extended into a snout.
But the revelation wasn't over as two black wings sprouted from his back as his claws became coated in Light.
"What the hell are you?" Regulus asked as he growled, his instincts warning him about how dangerous his opponent was.
"I'm Naruto." Naruto replied as he sped forward, jumping from his place with his wings allowing him to glide over the trash bins.
With the distance closed, Naruto delivered a powerful swipe to regulus's head.
A golden ichor liquid spewed from his head, as if it was blood, but it quickly evaporated into nothing as Regulus hit the wall, cracking a giant part of the building.
Naruto spun his body, delivering a devastating kick to Regulus's head, destroying the building as the lion was sent through it.
Naruto's assault ended with that.
Disengaging his Light weapons, he turned, flew over to Xenovia, and scooped him into her arms, taking flight.
Xenovia grabbed onto his neck tightly as Naruto flew into the air.
He flew to a nearby building, landing on top of it.
"Stay here." Naruto stated, however his voice sounded different, as if he was talking in two voices, one male and female.
Xenovia nodded, her brain not able to catch up with what was going on.
Naruto turned, but halted.
"Naruto had hoped you two could become friends." He stated in what appeared to be the 'third person' point of view before jumping off the roof and gliding down to the rubble.
Regulus broke free, only to get slammed into by Naruto.
Grabbing the lion, Naruto took flight into the air once again, but the golden lion would not allow it to be easy.
"STOP SQUIRMING!" Naruto shouted as he was whipped in the face by Regulus's tail.
"FUCK YOU, FREAK!" Regulus shouted as he continued to attempt escape.
Naruto could barely fly straight.
Regulus's tail swung and wrapped around his neck.
"WHAT!"
With a violent yank, Regulus forced Naruto to lose control over his flight, sending both of them crashing into a beach, miles away from Athens.
The sounds of the waves drowned out Naruto groans as he tried to get up, his wings retracting into his back before he instinctively jumped into the air to avoid Regulus's attack, which caused a crater in the sand.
"You, stupid cat!" Naruto shouted as he landed on the ground, creating a Light Sword in his hands.
Regulus smirked as he took the hit, shattering Naruto's weapon.
"Heracles could not pierce my hide with any weapon, what makes you think you could do better?" Regulus antagonized as he swiped at Naruto, making the boy block, his arms being cut open by Regulus's claws.
An idea popped into Naruto's head.
"Yeah, you're right, so I guess I'll follow his footsteps!" Naruto shouted, his voice sounding like three voices, before he grunted and it returned to the two.
Rushing forward, Naruto jumped over Regulus's swipe attack, creating a long Whip of Light with both hands.
The Whip went around Regulus's throat as Naruto landed on his back and shrank the Whip as small as possible.
'He plans on choking me!' Regulus thought as he tried to cut the light, but was unable too.
"JUST DIE ALREADY, ASSHOLE!" Naruto shouted as he pulled as tight as he could to choke the golden lion like Heracles did in myth.
'Good… plan…' Regulus thought as his eyes started to roll into the back of his head. 'But unlike Heracles, you are inexperienced!'
Regulus attempted to buck Naruto off, and in arching his back enough, wrapped his tail around Naruto's neck.
Constricting it tightly, Naruto grunted in pain, nearly passing out, as his neck was almost broke.
"NOT ENOUGH!" Regulus choked out as he squeezed tighter.
Naruto couldn't take anymore.
He released his weapon, causing it to fade into particles, and grabbed the tail around his neck.
Regulus's tail whipped Naruto around before throwing him into the ground.
Naruto landed on his knees several feet away, only for his hands to barely make it up to grab Regulus's open mouth.
Regulus's fangs pierced Naruto's flesh as he attempted to chomp on Naruto's head.
With lack of footing, Naruto was pushed through the sand before his back was on the ground, Regulus's greater weight being used effectively keep him pinned.
Grunting in pain, Naruto's eyes closed as his elbows hit the ground, unable to push against Regulus's strength.
"Use our power. We could defend ourselves with a hardened shell."
"We can use steam to keep it at a distance."
"We can obliterate it with a fist of magma."
"Or dissolve it with our acidic alkali."
"SHUT UP!" Naruto shouted in agony as he lost his grip. "I WON'T USE A POWER THAT HURTS PEOPLE!"
"WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO!" Regulus shouted as his fangs sliced through Naruto's tendons as he continued his dive for Naruto's head.
'I'm dead.' Naruto thought as Regulus's mouth engulfed his head. 'Ayame, I hope I can find you in the next life.'
Black tendrils wrapped around Regulus, yanking him off of Naruto.
"WHAT!" Regulus shouted as he attempted to break free, but his restraints weren't budging.
Regulus heard the clicking of heels approach him.
"Nemean Lion…"
Regulus and Naruto, who was still awake, turned their heads to see Chisato walking toward them.
Anger in her emerald eyes.
"You dare hurt my charge for petty vengeance.?" She asked as her magic flared.
A golden light enveloped her, her hair shooting upward with it as the black strands turned vibrant golden yellow.
"It… no… it can't be you…" Regulus whimpered in fear. "I know you!"
A binding tendril snapped itself around Regulus's snout, silencing him.
"Normally, I'd kill you." Chisato stated as a portal opened up. "But then you'd just go back to Michael, so spend some time in the underworld to reflect on your actions."
Regulus was shoved into the portal, which sealed itself shut.
"Chis…" Naruto gasped out, falling onto his back as his arms slowly started to close.
Chisato's hair faded back to black as she took a deep breath before running to Naruto's side.
"Naruto, I was so fucking worried!" Chisato yelled as she pressed her hands against him, magic glowing in her hands to analyze the damage. "He attacked us, but fled the moment he didn't see you. Griselda and I expected he ran, but then we found Xenovia on the roof! She told us what happened and so I… I…"
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she started to administer healing to Naruto, his eyes lidded as he started to feel the exhaustion and pain as his adrenaline slowly ebbed away.
"I thought I would lose you too!" Chisato cried, her body shuddering as her tears fell on Naruto's arm.
"I'm sorry I worried you." Naruto mumbled to the best of his ability as he started to return to his normal human form, his tail and ears vanishing as he shrank while his legs became human like. "I was scared… and didn't want to hurt anyone, but I guess I can't help but do that."
Chisato choked at his apology.
"I forgive you, Naruto." Chisato replied as she continued to heal him. "Can you forgive me for not…"
Naruto's eyes had dulled, showing he was no longer conscious.
Chisato bit her lip, and accepted this fact.
'It isn't the right time yet.' She thought as she continued to heal Naruto. 'I will, when he is older.'
After his wounds were safely closed and healed, Chisato picked Naruto up, putting him on her back.
With a simple application of magic, Chisato and Naruto appeared back in Litochoro beside Griselda and Xenovia in a secluded area from public view.
"NARUTO!" Xenovia shouted as she ran to Chisato, seeing Naruto being carried by Chisato.
"He will be fine, Xenovia." Chisato said as she smiled at the young girl. "He just needs some rest."
Xenovia sniffled as she nodded, unable to stop her crying fully as she saw all the blood on Naruto.
Chisato's smile became a nervous one as she looked at Griselda.
"So, I guess you have some questions." Chisato nervously chuckled.
Meanwhile, Underworld…
"DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT!" Regulus shouted as he lashed out at anyone that was near him.
He had been sent to the edge of the Bael territory, where very few had lived, but he sadly had landed in a small village of devils.
"SOME ONE CALL THE SATAN'S!" A man shouted before being cut down.
"THERE ISN'T ENOUGH TIME!"
"I'LL HANDLE THIS!"
The remaining villagers stood in silence as a young devil King landed before the Lion.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!" Regulus shouted, his golden body coated in fresh blood and his breath spewing saliva and blood.
"I am Sairaorg Bael," Sairaorg introduced as he activated the ability of his Mother's House while discarding his jacket. "And I am here to tame you."
Chapter 8, DONE!
Well, this one I'm a bit conflicted with, but I enjoyed it non the less.
We got, Naruto's first full body transformation with him in control, then we have the reveal of Chisato's godly power, after that Sairaorg meets Regulus.
I know, it isn't the best, but it is something to help characters move forward.
Next chapter should have Naruto and Chisato in the Vatican with Michael. Hopefully.
