Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, Junichi Masuda, Shigeki Morimoto, Ken Sugimori, Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoshi Tajiri and Shigeru Ohmori.

Bryant: Generation 4. Arguably the most popular generation of Pokemon so far in terms of both games and anime.

Thea: Whenever Nintendo didn't announce the remakes, their fans decided to try to kill the workers. So let's kill two of their starters!

Bryant: Torterra, the Continent Pokemon.

Thea: Infernape, Dragon Ball in Pokemon.

Bryant: Really?

Thea: And Empoleon, the Emperor Pokemon.

Bryant: For this battle, we'll be looking at everything these Pokemon and their previous evolutions can do naturally and by themselves in the games before the remakes.

Thea: No tutors, Z-Moves, HMs, TMs, EVs, IVs, Egg moves, or Items! We're also taking Pokedex entries literally and using both those and Stats to scale Pokemon to each other.

Bryant: I'm Bryant Reese.

Thea: And I'm Thea Price.

Bryant: And we're here to analyse these three fighters and find out who would win, a WI Battle!

-Line Break-

Bryant: Starting out the trio of Sinnoh Pokemon is the Grass-Type starter Turtwig, the Tiny Leaf Pokemon.

Thea: Turtwigs are my spirit animals. Sleep, drink, and just relax.

Bryant: Really?

Thea: F*ck no. These muscles don't stay strong by themselves!

Bryant: At level 18, Turtwig evolves into the Grove Pokemon, Grotle.

Thea: Wait, shouldn't the last Grass-Type Middle Evolution starter be the Grove Pokemon? Its name was Grovyle.

Bryant: … At level 32, the Grotle eventually becomes the powerful and durable Torterra.

Torterra:

-Continent Pokemon

-HP: 300 (Above Average)

-ATK: 200 (Above Average)

-DEF: 193 (Above Average)

-SP. ATK: 139 (Average)

-SP. DEF: 157 (Average)

-SPD: 105 (Average)

Bryant: Being a massive land turtle, Torterras are known for their incredible physical Attack and Defense while also possessing a high HP stat. Being a continent Pokemon, there have been Pokemon who have actually been born on its back. It possesses a shell actually made of incredibly condensed soil, allowing for a tree to grow on its back. Said tree often causes groups of Torterras to be known as Walking Forests.

Thea: You think that's crazy? It's called the Continent Pokemon cause people thought that the lands were made up of Torterras buried underground. That's when you know that this is big sh*t. But despite being big sh*t, Torterras are pretty nice. They even let Pokemon live their entire lives on their backs. Pretty homey for a Pokemon. And it's got its very own security system in its different moves.

Moves/Abilities:

-Ability: Overgrow

-Physical Attacks

=Wood Hammer

=Razor Leaf

=Crunch

=Earthquake

-Special Attacks

=Giga Drain

=Leaf Storm

-Status

=Leech Seed

=Curse

=Synthesis

Bryant: As mentioned before, Torterras boast high Attack and Defense combined with high HP, making it a physical tank.

Thea: Basically, it's meant to take a bunch of attacks that affect it in a physical way, instead of special attacks.

Bryant: Though those attacks aren't out of question. Its two Special Attacks are quite useful. Giga Drain can absorb the health of others, helping it recover.

Thea: Who says hurting others doesn't heal you?

Bryant: And Leaf Storm is a powerful attack which can rip through opponents, though it lowers its already low Sp. Attack.

Thea: But why use those attacks when it has its Physical Attacks in the form of Earthquake. As the name implies, it makes Earthquakes!

Bryant: It can attack with Razor Leaf in the form of sharp leaves being shot like a machine gun. Or use Crunch when opponents get too close.

Thea: But it can really shine when it uses its signature Wood Hammer attack. Where it takes the tree on its back and slams it down on people!

Bryant: The PokeDex describes this as having the user slam it's body onto people. Consider that an average Torterra is about 700 lbs. And imagine that slamming into you.

Thea: It can also explain why the Wood Hammer does recoil damage, so Torterra's can't just spam the attack. Though it can make up for it with Synthesis or Leech Seed to regain health, and Curse helps increase Attack and Defense while slowing the turtle down even more.

Bryant: Being a Grass and Ground Type, Torterras are capable of overpowering Water, Ground, Rock, Electric, and Steel types. Even Fire and Poison-Types can be harmed thanks to Torterra's Ground-Typing. They can take hits from Ground and Rock-Types, and Electric attacks can do nothing to harm it.

Thea: This also means that Grass and Ground-Type moves are boosted thanks to Stab Bonuses, which are when the move's Type matches the Pokemon's Type. Stab Bonuses give a 50% boost in damage, so the 100 damage Earthquake becomes 150!

Bryant: And when they reach lower levels of health, they can make up for it with their Overgrow Ability.

Thea: Basically, they get a 50% boost in power when they reach a third of their health. So Wood Hammer has 120 points of power. So that becomes…

Bryant: 180 with Stab. And with Overgrow, its points become 270.

Thea: Damn.

Bryant: What's more, Torterras have Attack Stats which rank above a multitude of other Pokemon and allow them to keep up with others.

Thea: Pokemon like Tauros, who can knock thick trees over by themselves. Or Aggrons, which can dig through bedrock. It's even able to keep up in power with a previous What If Battle combatant, Swampert, which can pull around entire 1 ton boulders by themselves. But that can't compare to when they pull around 138 tons boats!

Bryant: Torterras are powerful, but they're not unbeatable.

Weaknesses:

-Slow

-No way to make up for lack of Sp Stats

-Weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Bug-Types

Thea: Torterras are obviously large turtles, so they can't move all that fast, so it's harder for them to keep up with other Pokemon. Combine that with the fact that they don't have a lot of ways for dealing with Sp. Attackers, they're options are limited.

Bryant: But Torterra's biggest weakness is arguably its own Typing. While the Grass and Ground Typing allows for powerful offense, it makes for bad defense. A Grass and Ground Type is weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Bug Types. And the Ice weakness is a times 4 weakness as both Grass and Ground are weak to it.

Thea: And considering how many popular Flying, Ice, Fire, and Bug types there are, it's no surprise that Torterras can find themselves in trouble. At least in Sinnoh they don't have to worry about too many Fire-Types. Well, too many.

Bryant: As such, a good Pokemon Trainer must build a good team to support the Torterra and their weaknesses.

-Line Break-

Bryant: Second in line in the Sinnoh Starters is the Fire-Type Chimchar, the Chimp Pokemon.

Thea: Which gives the definition of burning farts. I mean, it literally has a flame on its butt that's powered by gas in its belly.

Bryant: Ugh. At level 14, Chimchar evolves into Fire and Fighting-Type Monferno, the Playful Pokemon.

Thea: Playful my ass. It's flaming tail is literally a weapon. Gives a whole new meaning to Tail Whip.

Bryant: At level 36, Monferno reaches its ultimate form. The Fire and Fighting-Type, Infernape. The Flame Pokemon.

Infernape:

-Flame Pokemon

-HP: 262 (Average)

-ATK: 191 (Above Average)

-DEF: 132 (Average)

-SP. ATK: 191 (Above Average)

-SP. DEF: 132 (Average)

-SPD: 198 (Above Average)

Thea: Infernapes are the most skilled of all the Sinnoh Starter Pokemon, spending their time training and creating their own fighting styles. Their fighting styles are based all around using high agility and climbing skills to use all of their limbs in a fight. So arms, legs, and tails. That's five things punching you at once.

Bryant: And their stats showcase this clearly. Infernapes specialize in Attack, Sp. Attack, and Speed. Their fierce and fiery spirit is showcased in their crown of flames.

Thea: Man, they look so badass. Almost as badass as their arsenal!

Moves/Abilities:

-Ability: Blaze

-Physical Attacks

=Close Combat

=Flare Blitz

=Mach Punch

=Acrobatics

=Feint

=Punishment

=Fury Swipes

=Facade

-Special Attacks

=Fire Spin

=Flamethrower

=Uproar

-Status

=Taunt

=Calm Mind

=Leer

=Torment

=Slack Off

=Nasty Plot

Bryant: Infernapes are aggressive fighters, relying almost entirely on high Speed, Attack, and Sp. Attack to take out their opponents as quickly as possible. To do this, they use powerful Fire and Fighting Attacks to overwhelm their opponents at both close and long ranged combat.

Thea: It's got moves like Flamethrower to scorch foes, wear them down with a vortex in the form of Fire Spin, or just scream as loud as they can with Uproar. It really is an anime Pokemon.

Bryant: But Infernape's Physical Attacks are just as powerful, and more plentiful than Special Attacks. It's Mach Punch is extremely useful in that it allows one to attack before others. Acrobatics has double power without Items and allows one to attack with a flurry of strikes.

Thea: If someone's got up their guard, they use Feint to get around it. Status? Facade gets double the power. And if someone tries buffing their Attack, Infernape can punish their audacity with, Punishment.

Bryant: But an Infernape's most powerful natural attack are both Close Combat and Flare Blitz. Close Combat is an all-out onslaught of powerful strikes. But though it's powerful, it comes at the price of lowering their Defensive Stats.

Thea: Eh, that's not the worst it can be. Infernapes are all about Offense, so they don't care too much about Defense. Flare Blitz is just as powerful, where Infernape covers itself in fire and slams into opponents as hard as it can. But it's got a major recoil effect, so if it does too much damage at once, Infernape takes a lot back.

Bryant: But while the recoil can be pretty hard, Infernape knows Slack Off, which allows it to regain health.

Thea: Two lazy Pokemon.

Bryant: Taunt prevents other Pokemon from using their own Status moves, Leer lowers Defense, Torment prevents spamming attacks-

Thea: And you know how we said that Infernape doesn't have as many Special Attacks as Physical Attacks? Well it can make up for that by using moves like Calm Mind, or Nasty Plot. And on top of having Stab for both Fire and Fighting, it also has the Blaze Ability. Which is the Fire-Type equivalent of the Overgrow Ability.

Bryant: Fire and Fighting has been considered to be overdone, which is sort of true. But it's useful in fighting Grass, Bug, Ice, Steel, Rock, Normal, Dark, and Steel-Types. A good variety of Pokemon. And the Fire and Fighting-Type can take hits from Dark, Steel, Bug, Ice, Grass, and Fire-Types, making for some decent defensive options.

Thea: Sure, they did it three times in a row, but have you seen how many Normal and Flying Types they have? Sure, I get that they're starters but the only real problem is that they did it three times. And it's the fans' fault for making it popular.

Bryant: Infernapes are fast and powerful. In fact, the Pokedex states that Infernapes are unmatched when it comes to swiftness.

Thea: Which is wild, considering that includes Machamps!

Bryant: Machamps are stated to be capable of throwing punches at speeds fast enough to throw a thousand of them in just two seconds. Considering four arms, and each throwing the same amount, for one Machamp arm to throw 125 punches in a second, it would have to punch once every 0.008 seconds, or 8 milliseconds. The fastest punches thrown came out to be 334 in a single minute, or one punch every 0.18 seconds. An impressive feat, but still over 20 times slower than a Machamp.

Thea: So Infernapes can throw punches that are faster than sound!

Bryant: Fast and strong, but not perfect.

Weaknesses:

-Low Defense

-Limited coverage

-Weak to Water, Ground, Flying, and Psychic

Bryant: Infernapes are naturally attuned to being almost entirely offensive. If they can't take opponents out quickly enough, they can be put in bad situations quickly.

Thea: Especially if they're against Water, Ground, Flying, or Psychic-Types. Fire and Fighting-Types are pretty limited in terms of what they can do in defense. So they need to play it smart and play it strong.

Bryant: It's important for a smart trainer to make a team to make up for Infernape's weaknesses.

Thea: You said that before.

-Line Break-

Bryant: Finishing off the list of Starter Pokemon of Generation 4 is the Water-Type Piplup, the Penguin Pokemon.

Thea: This Pokemon has quite the attitude. It hates accepting food from people, and it holds its head up high despite the fact that doing just means it's going to fall even more easily.

Bryant: At level 16, Piplup evolves into the Water-Type Prinplup.

Thea: Just as bad as the first. Every Prinplup thinks that they're the best in the world. Well, at least they can sorta back up with their wings being able to snap trees.

Bryant: And at level 36, Prinplups evolve into the mighty, Water and Steel-Type, Empoleon.

Empoleon:

-Emperor Pokemon

-HP: 278 (Average)

-ATK: 159 (Average)

-DEF: 162 (Average)

-SP. ATK: 204 (Above Average)

-SP. DEF: 186 (Above Average)

-SPD: 112 (Average)

Thea: What's with that beak? Why does it look like a crown?

Bryant: Empoleons are also prideful, almost as much as their previous evolutions. However, they're also more mature. They prefer to avoid unnecessary disputes, and will do so unless their pride is threatened.

Bryant: Empoleons specialize in Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense, preferring to fight ranged battles instead of close quarters ones.

Thea: But they're more well rounded than one would think.

Moves/Abilities:

-Ability: Torrent

-Physical Attacks

=Aqua Jet

=Metal Claw

=Drill Peck

=Fury Attack

=Bide

-Special Attacks

=Bubblebeam

=Brine

=Whirlpool

=Hydro Pump

-Status

=Water Sport

=Swords Dance

=Mist

=Swagger

=Growl

Bryant: Empoleons can use powerful and useful attacks such as Aqua Jet, which allows it to attack with priority. Basically, it let's them attack first.

Thea: Metal Claw lets it attack with steel claws, Drill Peck let's it use its beak as a drill, and Bide lets it absorb damage and redirect it with double the power, though they had to stay still for two turns.

Bryant: And while Empoleons have lower Attack Stats, they can close this distance with Swords Dance, which doubles their Attack.

Thea: And they don't rely on just Physical Attacks anyways.

Bryant: An Empoleon's most powerful natural attack is Hydro Pump. A powerful cannon of water which can decimate most foes.

Thea: It can attack with bubbles in Bubblebeam, for some reason? Brine doubles in power when opponents have less than 50% in health, and Whirlpool traps foes in a vortex of water to drain their health.

Bryant: Swagger may raise a Pokemon's Attack, but also confuses them. Mist prevents a Pokemon from changing Empoleon's stats, Water Sport lowers Fire Attacks, and Growl lowers Physical attacks.

Thea: Empoleons can also boost their abilities with Torrent, which does the same thing as Blaze and Overgrow. Empoleons are pretty fast, being able to swim as fast as a jet boat, which is about 60 miles per hour. And on top of that, they can cut through ice with just their wings. I guess their wings are made of steel too.

Bryant: Empoleons have Sp. Attack Stats which rank above the likes of Charizards. Charizards can melt boulders, which requires 2,181,856 joules of energy. As Empoleons have greater Sp. Attack than Charizards, they might be able to reach a similar level of power.

Thea: Empoleons are also Water and Steel-Types. Which means they're capable of taking on Fire, Ground, Rock, Ice, and Fairy Types. And when it comes to defense, they can take hits from Normal, Flying, Ice, Water, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy-Types and are immune to Poison-Types. Water and Steel. Not bad.

Bryant: Empoleons are certainly capable of standing out from the crowd, but they're not perfect.

Thea: How many times have you said that?

Weaknesses:

-Extremely prideful

-No natural Special Steel moves

-Weak to Electric, Fighting and Ground-Types

Bryant: An Empoleon is naturally prideful to a fault. If their pride is questioned, they can be put in dangerous situations. What's more, they only have Special Attacks that are Water-Types. Combine that with their weaker Physical Attack Stat, and their Steel-Type is really only meant to be used for defensive strategies.

Thea: Sure, that can work in some situations, but they're weak against Electric, Fighting, and Ground-Type Pokemon. So despite their plethora of resistances, they're still a breakable shield.

Bryant: It's important for a smart trainer to make a team to make up for Empoleon's weaknesses.

-Line Break-

Bryant: Alright, the stage is set, time to start this dance.

Thea: Battle ready, set, GO!

-Line Break-

An Infernape sprinted through a forest on all fours, grunting as it sped past the multitude of trees before skidding to a stop. The flame-headed Infernape took a stance as they faced towards a large tree. The tree shook before rising out of the ground, revealing a Torterra. The Torterra grunted as it shook some dirt off its head and stomped around to face Infernape. A splash came from the nearby lake, revealing an Empoleon soaring out and landing on the ground. The three Pokemon stood at the ready, waiting for one of the others to make the first move.

Fourth Generation Clash!

Fight!

Infernape went on the aggressive and hurled itself towards the Torterra, viewing it as the biggest threat. Literally. Torterra growled as it was covered in a dark red light, indicating its use of Curse. Infernape didn't falter as it continued to charge. It slammed a Mach Punch onto Torterra's face, only to get pushed back. Infernape landed, but ducked under a stream of bubbles.

Empoleon attacked its competitors with more Bubblebeams, but Torterra lifted up a foot and slammed it down. The ground shook beneath them, dealing good damage to both Infernape and Empoleon, forcing them to their knees. Infernape gritted its teeth before it's eyes flashed red, startling Torterra. Empoleon hurled itself off its feet and shot towards Torterra like a bullet, it's body spinning like a drill. Torterra grunted as the penguin's Drill Peck combined with Infernape's Leer caused it to stagger to the side. Infernape saw its chance and used Mach Punch again, zooming towards Torterra and slamming the high speed punch, knocking it backwards. Torterra snapped towards Infernape, only for the monkey to avoid the Crunch. Torterra shoved itself to the side, slamming the edge of its shell against Empoleon.

"Leon!" Empoleon grunted. Annoyed with being shoved, its wings glowed as it slashed at Torterra. The land turtle grunted before raising itself up and trying to slam its feet down on the penguin, who jumped back to dodge. Infernape landed on Torterra's back and began slashing at its back, causing Torterra to try to throw Infernape off. Empoleon fired another Bubblebeam at the two, forcing Infernape to leap off. Torterra grunted as it was hit by the bubbles.

Infernape grunted as it dashed behind Empoleon, recognizing the threat of the Water-Type moves. Empoleon grunted as a fist slammed against the side of its face, knocking it to the side. Infernape blasted it with a Fire Spin, creating a vortex of flame around it. Torterra roared as it charged towards Infernape, its footsteps shaking the ground. Infernape charged towards Torterra and attacked it with Acrobatics, blitzing the slower Pokemon and causing it to stagger again. Torterra roared as it swung its tree around, trying to smash it against Infernape.

Empoleon growled at the sight of the other two fighting and seemingly not caring about it. It quickly used Whirlpool, creating a counter vortex to the Fire Spin, causing the two to dissipate. Empoleon, freed, charged towards the other two, catching their attention. It used Drill Peck again and targeted Infernape. The Fire Ape accepted the challenge and kicked off Torterra's face and hurtled through the air towards the penguin.

Infernape's Mach Punch and Empoleon's Drill Peck clashed and sent both flying back. Infernape landed and shook its hand as Empoleon shook its head. Torterra suddenly slammed into Infernape's back and sent it flying. Empoleon blasted Torterra with more bubbles while Infernape got up with a grunt. It slumped in its sitting position, quickly using Slack Off to recover. It's eyes glinted as it followed with Nasty Plot.

Empoleon attacked Torterra with another Drill Peck, doing more damage. Torterra growled and managed to shove Empoleon back. The penguin grunted as it was slammed against a tree. It opened its mouth and let out a Growl, the sound wave washing over Torterra. Torterra growled as it made its way forwards. Infernape hurled itself forwards and landed on Torterra's back. It grabbed onto the edge of the shell and unleashed a powerful Uproar in Torterra's ears, causing the Pokemon to roar and collapse.

Infernape hurled itself towards Empoleon and kicked off a wing. The two Starters exchanged blows and blocks before Empoleon was flip-kicked away. Infernape dashed up to Empoleon and slashed at its beak. Empoleon grunted as it was sent staggering back. Infernape tried Fury Swipes again, only for Empoleon to counter with Fury Attack. Infernape leapt back and used another Uproar, but Empoleon resisted the attack thanks to its Steel-Typing. Empoleon fired back a Whirlpool, causing Infernape to counter with a Fire Spin. The two attacks collided and canceled each other out, creating a cloud of steam.

While the two were battling, Torterra got back up, shaking off the powerful scream. It's tree glowed as it casted Synthesis, recovering from the damage. Torterra shook its tree and fired a powerful gust of wind with leaves towards the two Pokemon. Empoleon and Infernape were caught off guard by the Leaf Storm and sent flying. Infernape slammed against a tree while Empoleon found itself on its belly. The two stood up and got ready to fight the Continent Pokemon.

Infernape leapt into the air and into a tree. Its eyes flashed red, lowering its opponents' defenses. Empoleon gathered water at its beak and fired a Hydro Pump. Infernape dropped out of the tree, letting the Hydro Pump break through the top of the tree. Torterra stomped, shaking the ground and forcing its opponents to their knees. Infernape leapt into the air again and blasted a stream of fire towards the Torterra, scorching it. Torterra grunted and staggered back, not expecting the flames. Empoleon turned towards Torterra and fired a Hydro Pump, forcing it to step back. Infernape charged towards Empoleon, grabbing it and throwing it towards Torterra. Torterra swung its tree and used its full weight to smash Empoleon away with Wood Hammer.

Infernape pressed its fists against the ground. The flame on its head poured over its entire body, covering it with blue fire. Torterra roared as it began charging towards Infernape. Empoleon covered itself in a blanket of water before rocketing towards the two. Flare Blitz, Wood Hammer, and Aqua Jet slammed into each other, creating a large explosion. Torterra slid backwards, panting heavily. Infernape collapsed on the ground, shaking. Empoleon breathed heavily as it got up.

The three looked at each other, resting. Suddenly, Empoleon roared into the sky as a sudden blue energy surged around it. Infernape gritted its teeth as its hair exploded into a pillar of flame and it roared. Torterra also roared like its enemies as it was covered in green energy. With their abilities activated, the three Pokemon prepared to give it their all.

Infernape's chest expanded and a powerful burst of flame shot from its mouth. Empoleon dodged the attack and fired back a dark blue stream of water. Flamethrower countered the Brine, creating a cloud of steam. A barrage of shining leaves shot towards the two. Infernape's Flamethrower turned the leaves into ash, and Infernape charged towards Torterra. Empoleon shot towards the two with another Drill Peck, only for Infernape to suddenly jump back. Infernape's fist glowed and slammed into the side of Empoleon. Empoleon landed on its feet and began glowing white. Torterra used Earthquake again, shaking Empoleon and Infernape.

Torterra charged towards the two and tried to use Wood Hammer again. Infernape immediately unleashed a powerful Flamethrower, scorching it. Torterra charged through and smashed the Wood Hammer against Empoleon. The penguin Pokemon glowed brighter, and the energy gathered at its wing. It swung the wing and slammed against the Torterra, unleashing massive damage. Torterra roared as it was lifted into the air and broke through a tree.

Infernape narrowed its eyes and charged at Empoleon. The penguin Pokemon turned and fired a powerful Hydro Pump. Infernape lunged under it and uppercutted Empoleon. Infernape reared back and began unleashing a powerful barrage of punches and kicks before kicking off Empoleon. The Close Combat forced Empoleon to a knee, leaving it open. Infernape roared as it was covered in its flaming aura for Flare Blitz. It rocketed towards Empoleon and slammed into it, creating a pillar of blue flame. With a massive roar, the Fire Ape forced through Empoleon's torso, leaving a large hole. Infernape skidded to a stop, allowing Empoleon to fall to its face.

Torterra got up from where it had fallen, shaking but still roared. Infernape roared back and blasted Torterra with another Flamethrower. Torterra tried to force its way through the flames, but was overwhelmed. With a final roar, Torterra was burned away, becoming a pile of ash.

Breathing heavily, Infernape took a moment to rest before roaring into the sky, pounding its chest.

KO!

Thea: What did I say? Dragon Ball.

Bryant: Empoleon's Water-Type advantage over Infernape was cancelled out by Infernape's Fighting-Type advantage over Empoleon. And Torterra's Ground-Typing meant that it could counter one of each Pokemon's Types. Meaning that the usual Typing advantages each Pokemon had individually is cancelled out.

Thea: But those aren't the only edges that count in these fights.

Bryant: Each three Pokemon had their own advantages over each other. Torterra had the edge in Attack and Defense, Empoleon had the edge in Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense, and Infernape had the edge in Speed and arsenal.

Thea: Yeah, Infernape had powerful and useful moves that let it take full advantage of its dual typing. Torterra had those two, but it had a smaller variety of moves, and Empoleon didn't have a single Special Steel Stab. Granted, that wouldn't help out all that much.

Bryant: Infernape also had moves which could prevent its competitors from turning the tides. Taunt could stop all Status moves, Torment prevented powerful attacks from being used repeatedly, Leer could lower Defensive changes, and Slack Off could restore health.

Thea: Torterra did have healing moves, but Giga Drain is pretty weak due to low Sp. Attack, Leech Seed didn't heal a lot at once, and Synthesis could be cancelled thanks to Taunt. And Empoleon didn't have any healing moves, so all damage it takes sticks around.

Bryant: What's more, Torterra and Empoleon's attempts to raise their Attack Stats only played to Infernape's advantage thanks to the move Punishment, which did more damage as the Attack Stat rose.

Thea: To be fair, Infernape wasn't uncounterable. Drill Peck was super-effective, Torterra's Earthquake meant that it could fight at a range, Bide could potentially take Infernape out right then and there, Water Sport weakened Fire moves, Infernape couldn't raise its Attack Stat, etc. But Infernape could easily get all of its moves off first.

Bryant: Right. Remember, Infernape could outspeed all of its competitors thanks to its higher Speed Stats. What's more, out of the three Pokemon, Infernape had the most training and skill. Meaning that it would use moves that would turn the tides sooner than the other two, and would use the moves that would counter theirs.

Thea: So all in all, Infernape was just too fast, too versatile, and too skilled for the other two to keep up. It was just hot for this fight. Which means that the winner of this WI Battle is Infernape!

There we go. The Pokemon Battle Royale for my favorite trio of starters, though I do like Gen 5 overall better. Hope you enjoyed it. The next nine chapters will be dealing with characters who have a trope which I consider to be scary. Things like types of monsters, kinds of people, or who they represent. This is to make up for the fact that I probably won't be uploading a Halloween chapter for Halloween this year. Trust me, there are some awesome fights on the way. The first one, is dealing with Serial Killers. As per the usual, leave a review. Azure out!

"Thea, what are you doing?"

"Playing Yandere Simulator. And leaving hate comments on hate comments on Yandere Dev."

"Yandere Simulator? Hmph."

"What's with that response?"

"Forgive me if I do not find a game about killing random underaged girls to help a girl who is unable to talk to her crush to be entertaining. I prefer the more heart pounding and properly challenging stealth aspects of the Hello Neighbor game."

"You clearly are not playing Yandere Simulator properly. Yandere Sim, is a puzzle game. You have to figure out the right paths to take to get to the good ending, and there are multiple good endings and multiple bad endings, and there are awesome Easter Eggs-"

"I suppose we'll agree to disagree."

"Or."

"Or."
