Here is the second entry in the Halloween collection of What If Battles. This fight has a character I care way more for than the previous one, so hopefully it can do better.
Disclaimer: I don't own Tekken or Soul Calibur. Tekken is owned by BANDAI NAMCO. Soul Calibur is owned by BANDAI NAMCO.
Azure: This Halloween entry involves two demonic beings. Jin Kazama vs Siegfried Schtauffen. Protagonists of NAMCO fighting game series. Their stories revolve around their conflicts against their families and a dark power that they wield. Their grown-up selves are more stoic in contrast to their younger selves due to their journeys. They served as an antagonist in the form of a powerful demonic being, but are people attempting to do good in this world.
-Line Break-
Bryant: The darkness of the world. It can turn even a heroic person into a dark being. But at the end of the day, they're the people of destiny.
Thea: And the people of techniques that you end up tying your fingers up together in an attempt to do them. Seriously, why are fighting games so dang complicated?
Bryant: Jin Kazama, the Devil of Iron Fist.
Thea: And Siegfried Schtauffen, the Knight of Souls.
Bryant: I'm Bryant Reese.
Thea: And I'm Thea Price.
Bryant: And we're here to analyse these two fighters and find out who would win, a WI Battle!
-Line Break-
Bryant: Behold, the Devil Gene. A supernatural genetic disorder created by the people of the Hachijo bloodline and passed down through generations.
Thea: It turns you into a devil! Suffice to say, there weren't a lot of fans of this. And the ones who were fans, were crazy.
Bryant: One person who was locked in battle with the Devil Gene was the father of one of the wielders. Heihachi Mishima.
Thea: Aka one of the worst dads and grandads ever. Seriously, this guy is completely insane. No wonder his son tried to kill him.
Bryant: Heihachi was the target of a Hachijo assassin, who was his wife, Kazumi. Despite her attempts, Kazumi failed and was killed. His son Kazuya, who was unaware of the truth, swore to avenge his mother and get revenge on his father. He would eventually do so, only to be defeated by Heihachi years later.
Thea: Kazuya and Heihachi were locked in battle, and the world trembled at their feet. But the world would soon find out that there was one more monster that would join the battle.
Bryant: Jin Kazama.
Jin Kazama:
-Age: 21
-Height: 180 cm
-Weight: 75 kg
-Former head of the Mishima Zaibatsu
-Studied mechanical engineering
-Wielder of the Devil Gene
Thea: This guy is like Evil Son Gohan. His mom and dad met in a tournament where his dad won, his dad knocked his mom up, his dad disappeared, and then he and his mom lived in the mountains.
Bryant: Jin Kazuma spent most of his childhood training with his mother on the island of Yakushima. They spent most of their time training in martial arts, and they were fairly happy.
Thea: Until Ogre, the first form of the God of Fighting, showed up and disappeared with his mom. Now alone and with the Devil's Brand on his arm, Jin swore revenge. He tracked down Heihachi and was taken under his wing, and began training in the Mishima-Style Karate.
Abilities/Arsenal:
-Kazama-Style Karate
-Mishima-Style Karate
-Kyokushin Karate
-Ki manipulation
-Force Field Generation
Thea: The Kazama-Style Karate is based on Daito-Ryu Aikijutsu, with a focus on throws, joint grabs, and grappling attacks. The fighting style over all is tailored to self-defense, and is shown in Jin's famous throws and reversals. The Mishima-Style Karate that Jin mastered is based on Shito-ryu, in contrast to Heihachi's Goju-Ryu and Kazuya's Shotokan. Shito-Ryu is fast and powerful, and draws from the roots of other forms of Karate. With these two styles, Jin has got a lot of techniques he can use.
Bryant: Kazama-Style has moves like the Demon's Paw, which strikes the midsection. The Corpse Thrust, which knocks foes off their feet. The Kazama-Style 5-Hit Combo, which is what it sounds like.
Thea: Mishima-Style gives attacks like the Dragon Uppercut, which is an airborne uppercut. The Electric Wing God Fist, which is an uppercut enhanced with ki energy. The Spinning Demon, which is a barrage of spinning low kicks that leave opponents open to a powerful finisher. Or the Mishima-Style 10-Hit Combo, which is a barrage of attacks finished with the Dragon Uppercut.
Bryant: And yes, we did say Ki. Jin can enhance his strikes with Ki, taking on the form of electricity and/or fire.
Thea: He can even create a ball of electricity which can stun the opponent. And his ki can even become a forcefield that protects him from attacks.
Bryant: With all this, Jin was able to take on Ogre, and defeated him.
Thea: Unfortunately, Heihachi actually had plans for Ogre, and wasn't too happy about Jin killing him. That combined with the fact that Jin might take over the Mishima Zaibatsu, Heihachi's company, led to Heihachi betraying Jin.
Bryant: Enraged by his grandfather's betrayal, something inside Jin snapped, and he lashed out, unleashing the curse given to him by his father. Jin unlocked the Devil Gene. And he became, Devil Jin.
Devil Jin:
-Enhanced strength and speed
-Teleportation
-Telekinesis
-Healing factor
-Energy Absorption
-Soul Detection
-Penetrating Fist
-Large wings
-Lasers
Thea: As Devil Jin, Jin has a lot more power. He's stronger, faster, tougher, and even has a healing factor.
Bryant: He can teleport short distances, cause machines to explode and choke people with telekinesis, detect souls, absorb demonic energy, and fire lasers from his forehead.
Thea: Jin also gained some powers in his base form, like the healing factor, laser, and a move called the Penetrating Fist. A fireball that stays in place for defense or a combo.
Bryant: He's also fast enough to fly in orbit, which would require him moving at speeds equal to 25 thousand miles per hour.
Thea: This Devil Power seems pretty cool to me.
Bryant: Except it isn't. Jin has struggled constantly to control and get rid of the Devil Gene in order to regain his humanity. The Devil Gene is something that could turn him into humanities' worst monster. And though he becomes somewhat of a monster, he did so in hopes of preventing him from becoming even worse by locating the original source of the Devil Gene and eliminating it.
Thea: That spamming A-hole Azazel!
Bryant: Fortunately, Jin isn't just a Mishima and a Hachijo. He is a Kazama.
Kazama Bloodline:
-Spiritual Powers
-Can ward off the Devil Gene
-Allows user to communicate with the dead
Thea: Turns out, the Kazamas are naturally attuned with nature, in contrast to the demonic Hachijos. They have spiritual powers, which lets them communicate with the dead and take on demons.
Bryant: Like how Jun was able to fight off Kazuya's demon when it tried to take over Jin before he was even born. It's because of Jin's Kazama blood that he eventually learned to control the Devil Gene, and become capable of turning it off and on at will.
Thea: It also prevented Kazuya from stealing the Devil in Jin. He even says that it was specifically Jin's Kazama bloodline that kept him from stealing from Jin.
Bryant: On top of that, Jin also traded his Mishima-Style of Karate for Kyokushin Karate, though the Mishima-Style Karate is still used in Devil form. Kyokushin-
Thea: Hold it Bryant. We agreed that I take care of all things martial arts and physical training.
Bryant: Go ahead, go ahead.
Thea: Kyokushin Karate is considered to be the strongest form of karate there is. It actually plays well in mixing with the defensive Kazama-Style and the offensive Mishima-Style. He's got moves like Power Stance, which repels attacks and boosts his next strike, Avenger, which is an unblockable punch charged with ki, and his 10-hit combo, which is a combination of punches and kicks that can send anyone sprawling.
Bryant: He also has two Rage Arts. His base form's Rage Art attacks with a barrage of fast punches before finishing with a powerful haymaker, and his Devil form's Rage Art launches foes into the air before attacking them relentlessly and finishing with a powerful laser blast.
Thea: Jin is one powerful fighter.
Achievements:
-Flew into space
-Won three King of Iron Fist Tournaments in a row
-Destroyed the glass of a building with the shockwaves of his punches
-Destroyed an entire forest
-Started World War III
-Defeated Kazuya, Heihachi, Ogre, Jinpachi, and Azazel
Thea: Jin fought in and won three tournaments in a row, and even took over the Mishima Zaibatsu to start World War III. He and his dad punched so hard, they destroyed all the glass on a building with just the shockwaves. And he beat both Kazuya and Heihachi!
Bryant: Kazuya's own devil laser was fast enough to hit a satellite that was at an altitude of about 40 thousand kilometers, or about 24,854 miles. Judging the time it took for the laser to hit the satellite, which was about seven seconds, it's likely it was travelling at a speed equal to just under 13 million miles per hour, or just under 2 percent the speed of light.
Thea: The laser was also able to make a volcano blow up, which is about 100 megatons of TNT. But that's not even close to how powerful these guys really are.
Bryant: Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin are all comparable to Jack-7s. An earlier model of these robots, the Jack 6s, are capable of destroying a meteor six miles wide.
Thea: They say it's a diameter measurement, so we're treating it like a sphere. Which gives it a total area size of 113.1 miles cubed.
Bryant: Given what we have, this would require around 4 gigatons of TNT.
Thea: Eh, that's nothing compared to Jinpachi, who Jin beat too. That guy is said to be capable of destroying the world! Man, Jin is strong!
Bryant: But not infallible.
Weaknesses:
-Holy Weapons
-Devil Gene can still go out of control
-Mentioning his mother can enrage him
-Isn't exactly a good guy
Bryant: While the Devil Gene may be under his control, it's hard to know the exact extent of that control. There's still a chance he could lash out and become a savage monster if he's not careful.
Thea: Not to mention that holy beings are still able to keep up with him and beat him.
Bryant: It also doesn't help that Jin isn't exactly a hero. He started World War III after all. Still, Jin is ultimately the champion of the world. Soon, he will face his father and end the Devil's Bloodline, once and for all.
Thea: Unless Xiaoyu finally manages to get in his pants.
Bryant: Thea!
Thea: What? We all know she's a simp for him.
(Jin Kazama) You're wasting my time.
-Line Break-
Bryant: Behold, Soul Edge. An ancient magic sword given life with the blood and hatred of countless enemies and the host of the demon Inferno.
Thea: It turns you into a devil! Suffice to say, there weren't a lot of fans of this. And the ones who were- hey wait a minute.
Bryant: The curse of Soul Edge was one that held dire consequences. Should one become possessed by the corruption within, they will bring about an age of darkness and suffering. There had been many wielders of the blade, and should they lack the proper will and mental strength, they will be consumed by its power.
Thea: The sword took over an ancient prince, a pharaoh, a mercenary hired by the Romans, and even a zombie pirate. But there was one person that Soul Edge decided it really liked.
Bryant: A German knight known as Siegfried Schtauffen.
Siegfried Schtauffen:
-Age: 40
-Height: 172 cm
-Weight: 70 kg
-A German Knight
-Supposedly the perfect host of Soul Edge
-Wielder of Soul Edge and Soul Calibur
Bryant: Born in the late sixteenth century, Siegfried is the son of a brave knight named Federick and his wife Margaret. He spent most of his life training with his father in the art of swordsmanship.
Thea: And then one day, his dad went on a crusade in another country. Without a dad to guide him, Siegfried began hanging out with a group of delinquents, and they became a pack of thieves called the Schwarzwind. Did I say that right?
Bryant: Yep.
Thea: Badass.
Bryant: In an act of foolish pride, the Schwarzwind attacked a group of knights who were supposed run-a-ways from the army.
Thea: Turns out, they weren't run-a-ways, and were just being sent home from being defeated in the crusade. You'd think Sieggy's dad would be angry about that. And he would've. You know, if Siegfried didn't ACCIDENTLY CUT HIS DAD'S HEAD OFF!
Bryant: Blinded by the darkness of night and of his own pride, Siegfried killed his own father, and his mind broke. He fled into the forest, where his mind continued to attack itself until he convinced himself that the killer was someone else, and that the only way to kill that someone is with the powerful Soul Edge.
Thea: Damn. You know, I thought I heard sad stories, but this one takes the cake. Siegfried's quest to find Soul Edge led him to do some messed up stuff. He kept getting more insane until he found the dead Cervantes de Leon, who held the cursed sword.
Bryant: And after a battle with the demon within, Siegfried earned the right to wield the sword. He struck a deal with Inferno, promising to help collect souls in exchange for the resurrection of his father.
Thea: And so, after countless battles, Siegfried became the first Knight of Darkness, Nightmare.
Nightmare:
-Swordfighting skill across generations
-Cloning
-Teleportation
-Soul Edge
=Can change forms based on user
=Can corrupt wielders
=Fire and lightning generation
=Soul Wave
=Evil Seed
Bryant: Since these two are technically the same people with the same powers, Nightmare and Siegfried will be combined for their stats, but we'll be focusing on Siegfried for the lore.
Thea: Nightmare is a guy so powerful, it takes entire armies of people just to make him sweat.
Bryant: As Nightmare, Siegfried has access to the previous memories of the people who wielded Soul Edge. This means he has access to several generations of training and skill, putting Nightmare's skill level at a ridiculous level.
Thea: He's got training from England, Spain, and Germany, so he got a variety of different fighting styles. Shown in his numerous different stances and attack forms. What Siegfried lacks in speed, he makes up for in unpredictability and power. His signature style is probably German Longsword Fighting. A fighting style which focuses on attack and defense. Which makes sense since Nightmare is more about heavy swings.
Bryant: Nightmare can attack with lightning from the sky, fire to enhance his strikes, and claim countless souls using Soul Wave. He can also teleport, create up to three clones of himself, and corrupt people, turning them into mutated demons, using the Evil Seed. And should Nightmare himself be defeated, Inferno can manifest in a physical form and protect Soul Edge. Inferno, like Nightmare, has the memories of past wielders of Soul Edge, and can manifest any weapon he wishes, as well as control fire.
Thea: Soul Edge can't even be destroyed by anything but a weapon the exists on an astral plane. Nightmare is powerful enough to destroy just about anyone in his path, but Siegfried wasn't having it. He eventually came to realize the one who killed his dad was himself, and that Soul Edge is actually pretty bad for him.
Bryant: He and Inferno would battle for years, struggling for control over Siegfried's body. Until one day, he did battle with the French Fencer, Raphael Sorel.
Thea: Don't get it twisted, Nightmare beat the crap out of this moron. But he managed to hit Soul Edge, distracting it long enough for Siegfried to take back his body.
Bryant: After another fierce battle with Inferno, Siegfried saw something else. Something that would allow him to take on the Cursed Sword.
Thea: Soul Calibur.
Soul Calibur:
-Forged from a piece of Soul Edge
-Grants regeneration
-Ice manipulation
Thea: Remember how we said that Soul Edge took over an ancient prince? Well, the prince's father, the King known as Agol, took a piece of the sword and sacrificed his own life in order to create a weapon specifically designed to take down Soul Edge. Soul Calibur grants Siegfriend a few different abilities, and he can dual-wield the two giant blades in battle.
Bryant: Soul Calibur grants the user the ability to summon ice crystals in battle. He can use these to enhance his strikes or trap foes in ice. Soul Calibur also grants a healing factor, reinvigorating the people who wield it while countering Soul Edge's more parasitic nature.
Thea: But if these two swords were to combine, Soul Edge becomes complete once more, and it can cause Nightmare to enter his Ultimate Form. Night Terror.
Night Terror:
-Enhances abilities
-Flight
-Lasers from eyes
Thea: Night Terror can fly, control flames like Inferno, and fire lasers from his eyes. He's even said to be capable of destroying the world!
Bryant: But Siegfried never stopped fighting Inferno. And with these two swords in hand, Siegfried proved himself to be a mighty foe for any who crossed him.
Achievements:
-Pierced the clouds with a beam of energy
-Destroyed Ostrheinsburg Castle
-Reassembled Schwarzwind
-Defeated Nightmare and Inferno
-Defeated Ivy, Cervantes, Raphael
Thea: Siegfried as Nightmare was able to defeat Ivy Valentine, who was able to move fast enough to dodge bullets, putting her at Mach 2 speeds. Siegfried also tangoed with people who can keep up with lightning, putting him anywhere between Mach 60 to Mach 286. And Nightmare is tough enough to tank large explosions.
Bryant: Nightmare has taken down entire armies, devouring hundreds, if not thousands, of souls at once. At one point, he destroyed both a castle and a large cathedral with a swing of his sword.
Thea: How about the time he made a hole in the clouds!
Bryant: A feat which would require 392 megatons of TNT. And both Soul Edge and Soul Calibur are equal in power.
Thea: Siegfried might've been one massive badass, but he's not perfect.
Weaknesses:
-As long as he has Soul Edge, he can turn into Nightmare
-Can be overwhelmed by faster more aggressive opponents
Thea: Siegfried and Nightmare both have a bunch of different stances and techniques they can pull from, but they do prefer raw power over speed and precision. That means that while they're powerful enough to make up for that, they can possibly be overwhelmed by an aggressive enough opponent who uses speed.
Bryant: And Siegfried may have been able to force back Nightmare, but so long as he holds Soul Edge, Nightmare will always have a chance to rise.
Thea: Still, Siegfried never gave up the good fight. He's sealed away Soul Edge and Inferno before, and he even had someone chosen to be the new wielder of Soul Calibur. He reformed Schwarzwind, and reformed them from thieves to mercenaries, dedicated to protecting the world.
Bryant: Siegfried may have done some terrible things, but at the end of the day, he is the chosen hero. And all evil will fall before his blade.
(Siegfried Schtauffen) No need for words, I speak with this.
-Line Break-
Bryant: Alright, the stage is set, time to start this dance.
Thea: Battle ready, set, GO!
-Line Break-
Standing on top of a large tower was Siegfried Schtauffen, Soul Calibur in hand. Soul Edge was sitting on his back. The German Knight had his eyes closed as he felt the warmth of the rising sun. Footsteps caught his attention, and he turned around. Jin Kazama was walking behind him in a tracksuit, eyes focused on Siegfried.
"Wer bist du? Was willst du?"
(Who are you? What do you want?) Siegfried questioned as he turned around, Soul Calibur in hand.
"Anata no ken wa akuma no idenshi to dōyō no enerugī o motte imasu. Anata wa sore o tebanashi, kenkyū no tame ni sore o hikiwatashimasu."
(Your sword possesses energy similar to that of the Devil Gene. You will relinquish it, and hand it over for study.) Jin said as he stopped and faced Siegfried.
"Du verstehst die Gefahr von Soul Edge nicht. Du musst gehen." Siegfried said as he pulled out Soul Calibur and held the swords in a stance. Jin took off his suit, leaving only his pants and revealed his toned torso. He took his own stance.
"Anata wa watashi ni sakarau koto wa dekimasen. Watashi wa akuma no idenshi no sekai o torinozoku tame ni nandemo shimasu."
(You cannot defy me. I will do anything to rid the world of the Devil Gene.)
The clash of devils!
Fight!
Jin charged and threw a flying kick. Siegfried held his sword up and blocked the blow, causing a small shockwave to shake the area. Siegfried yelled as he forced Jin back with a swing. Jin landed and took his stance again. Siegfried and Jin charged at each other with fierce cries. Siegfried swung Soul Calibur down with a roar, smashing the ground as Jin side-stepped. He looked up to receive a fist to the face. Jin attacked with a fast 5-hit combo before sending Siegfried flying through the air with his Dragon Uppercut. Siegfried landed on the ground and rolled to his feet.
"Verdammt." Siegfried cursed. He took his stance as Jin approached. Jin tried to slam a Demon's Paw, only for Siegfried to block. The butt of Soul Calibur slammed against Jin's cheek and forced him back. Siegfried punched and kicked Jin before swinging Soul Calibur, knocking Jin back. Jin grunted as he skidded to a stop.
The two fighters charged again and clashed. Jin dodged Siegfried's sword swings and Siegfried blocked Jin's fists. Jin flipped on his back to dodge a swing and flipped back to his feet to slam a headbutt against Siegfried's face. The man grunted as he staggered back. Jin fell down and spun around on a foot with his leg extended. Siegfried was knocked off his feet with a grunt and punted with another kick. The German Knight landed with a grunt and glared at Jin.
Jin scoffed at the glare and charged again. Siegfried slammed Soul Calibur into the ground, creating a crystal in front of him. Jin roared as he shattered the wall with a powerful punch. He threw another punch, but collided with another sword block. His eyes widened as they met the eyeball of Soul Edge. Siegfried spun around and slashed Jin with both swords, drawing blood as he jumped back. Jin landed and took a stance.
"Tsuini anata no nōryoku o oshiete kuremasen ka?"
(Will you finally show me what you are capable of?) Jin said as he shifted his weight.
"Das ist deine letzte chance, dummkopf. Verlassen. Soul Edge steht nicht dir zur Verfügung, und du kannst es auch nicht kontrollieren."
(This is your last chance, fool. Leave. Soul Edge is not yours to take, nor is it within your ability to control it.) Siegfried warned. Jin charged again. Siegfried slashed with both swords again. Jin rolled under them and spun around, slamming a foot against Siegfried's hip. Siegfried powered through and slammed the butt of his swords in Jin's stomach, causing him to double over. Siegfried spun and blasted Jin with an explosion, sending him flying. Lightning fell from the sky and blasted Jin, earning a cry of pain. Lightning shocked him repeatedly until he was blasted back to Siegfried, who blasted him with fire.
Jin fell back, smoking slightly. He looked himself over with narrowed eyes. He looked up to see Siegfried charging. Siegfried spun and brought the swords down with a powerful impact. Jin dodged the swings and landed next to Siegfried. The two fought wildly, shockwaves emanating from their clash. Jin charged his fists with ki and threw another punch, striking Siegfried in the chest and sending him flying. The Devil Wielder charged after the German Knight. Siegfried rolled to his feet as he landed and spun around as Jin passed him. Jin tried his 10-hit combo, but Siegfried used the swords to block the barrage of punches and kicks. Siegfried called down lightning to separate them again. The electric explosion forced the two apart, and they took a moment to breathe.
"Anata no chikara wa inshō-tekidesu. Shikashi, anata jishin o sasaete kudasai. Watashi wa mō gaman shimasen."
(Your power is impressive. But brace yourself. I will no longer hold back.) Jin warned as he took a different stance. Siegfried called down another bolt of lightning, but the electricity was blocked by a sudden barrier. Siegfried charged again and the two clashed once more. Jin was knocked back by a sword swing, blood dripping down his chest. He growled and created a Penetrating Fist. The fireball stayed in place, confusing Siegfried. Jin slid under the fireball and swept Siegfried off his feet and launched him with an uppercut. Siegfried spun into the fireball, which exploded and launched him into another Penetrating Fist.
Siegfried slashed through the fireball and landed on his feet. He raised Soul Calibur over his head before impaling it in the ground, sending a trail of ice towards Jin. Lightning crackled in Jin's hand as he charged his ki before destroying the ice attack with a powerful strike, sending shards towards Siegfried. Siegfried blocked them with the two swords before being knocked off his feet by Jin once more. Something pulsed in Siegfried's head, causing him to groan in pain. The German Knight got to his feet as Jin was surrounded with a red aura. Siegfried charged and swung both swords with all his might. Jin dodged and took a deep breath. Siegfried turned to receive a powerful fist to the face. Jin pulmetted Siegfried with a fast barrage of punches before slamming a haymaker into the knight's stomach, sending him flying. Siegfried skidded across the ground, groaning in pain.
"Kono tatakai wa owatta."
(This battle is over.) Jin said as the red aura disappeared. Siegfried panted heavily as he tried to get up. He swung Soul Calibur towards Jin, only for the tyrant to catch the blade easily and yank it out of Siegfried's hands. He threw it to the side. Siegfried fell back and groaned once more.
"Ken o kudasai."
(Give me the sword.)
"Fliehen. Jetzt."
(Flee. Now." Siegfried said in a strained voice. Jin frowned and raised a fist. He brought it down with a yell, but was sent flying with a sudden pulse of energy. Jin landed painfully with a grunt. He pushed himself up.
"Kono chikara! Dākuenerugī ga kyūjōshō shimashita. Watashi wa... Watashi wa tamashī o kanjimasu. Katana wa iki teru no?!"
(This power! The dark energy has spiked. I... I sense a soul. The sword is alive?!) Jin grunted as he got to his feet and took a stance. Siegfried's yell was coming from the center of the explosion. Slowly, the form began to change. Jin watched with wide eyes. Finally, with a roar of power, Nightmare swung his sword and held it to the sky.
"Blood! Darkness! The world shall be plagued with my power!" Nightmare declared as he swung Soul Edge around. Soul Calibur rose up from nearby and shot towards Nightmare. The Azure-clad Knight held Soul Edge at the ready, and the two swords combined to form Soul Edge's complete form. "At last. At last, the time has come!"
"Kore wa kishi ga watashi ni keikoku shite ita kotodeshita ka? Kono ken wa Azazeru no kekkadearu ni chigai arimasen. Don'nani. Watashi wa kare to onajiyōni sore o hakai shimasu."
(This was what the knight was warning me about? This sword must be the result of Azazel. No matter. I will destroy it like I did him.) Jin said. His goal was no longer the possession of the sword. Nightmare turned to Jin with a sneer.
"You intend to destroy me? Fool! Tremble before my darkness!" Nightmare said. Jin charged forwards with a yell. Nightmare held Soul Edge and blocked a powerful punch that sent another shockwave to shake the stone tower.
"Pathetic!" Nightmare scoffed before swinging the sword. Jin was caught and launched into the sky. Nightmare held his sword up high. Energy built up in the center of the sword. In the air, Jin flipped so that he faced Nightmare as he fell. Jin pulled back a fist and yelled as he fell. Nightmare slammed the sword into the tower, creating a massive explosion. Jin's eyes widened as the explosion enveloped him. The tower cracked and crumbled, sending rubble crashing down. Nightmare landed on a chunk of the tower.
"My power is absolute!" he said. The rubble crashed down, creating a massive cloud of dust. Nightmare landed on top of it and roared into the sky in triumph. Something shifted under the rubble, catching his attention. Nightmare turned around.
"Still alive, are you?" Nightmare sneered. The rubble stilled, before energy burst out from under. Nightmare staggered slightly as he was hit with the shockwave. Two glowing red eyes appeared within the explosion, and a laser shot into space as a demonic voice roared.
"I will show you fear!" Devil Jin soared into the sky with a demonic roar, rubble being pulled behind him with telekinesis. Nightmare roared in turn as he was enveloped in flames. The two took to the sky as the flames fell away, revealing Night Terror.
Devil Jin shot towards Night Terror, slamming a fist against the evil knight's helmet and sending him flying down. Night Terror caught himself with a flap of his flaming wings and launched fireballs towards Devil Jin. Devil Jin hurled the rubble into them, destroying the fireballs. Night Terror appeared above Devil Jin and slashed his back, earning a cry of pain and sending his opponent down. The two clashed in the air, separating clouds as they collided.
Devil Jin flew back and fired a laser. The laser collided with Night Terror's chest and pushed him down into the ground. The knight slammed into the ground with great force, sending dust and rubble into the air. Devil Jin rocketed down towards Night Terror, who held up his sword.
"Watch this." the knight said. A pulse of energy shot from his sword. Devil Jin's eyes widened and he crossed his arms. The Soul Wave slammed into him and sent him flying. Devil Jin grunted as he was sent through multiple trees. Night Terror shot into the air, the red figure small from the distance but quickly growing larger. Devil Jin roared as he shot up. Night Terror was knocked off course and blitzed several times before Devil Jin appeared above him and spiked him down. He charged up his laser to fire, but Night Terror summoned a colossal pillar of flame, enveloping the Devil. Devil Jin roared before he fell out and landed on the ground.
"Soul Edge!" Night Terror called as he raised the vile blade into the air. Devil Jin rocketed towards Night Terror. The knight waited before suddenly bringing the sword down in a heavy slash.
"Burn them!" he roared. Devil Jin was slammed into the ground, creating another explosion of dust. Trees were sent flying, leaving just a giant pit. Night Terror swung Soul Edge around, dragging Devil Jin across the ground and hurling him to the other side of the pit. Devil Jin got up with a snarl, swaying as blood pooled down from his back. One of his horns was snapped in half.
"Burn!" Night Terror commanded as energy built up in his eyes. Devil Jin charged energy in his forehead as well. With a roar from both, they fired their lasers. The two beams collided, sending another shockwave that only widened the pit. Devil Jin grunted as he was being pushed back.
"You… INSECT!" Devil Jin roared, pumping more energy into his beam. The laser increased and overpowered Night Terror's. The knight's eyes widened before he was enveloped and shot through the forest, sending trees flying. Devil Jin flew up and shot towards Night Terror, shaking the ground as he slammed another fist into the knight's chest. Night Terror swung his sword with a roar, sending Devil Jin back.
The two stood, panting heavily. Devil Jin was bleeding from multiple deep gashes, with blood coming out the corner of his mouth. Night Terror had deep dents in his armor, blood staining it slightly, with cracks in other places. The two roared at each other before taking to the sky once more. They raced through the air. Night Terror growled when he saw Devil Jin going faster than him. He fired another laser from his eyes, one that Devil Jin avoided. Night Terror's lasers continued to chase Devil Jin until the man stopped in the air and shot back down. Night Terror's eyes widened before he was slammed into. Devil Jin's hand grabbed Night Terror's helmet and Devil Jin pulled Night Terror down with a roar. He threw Night Terror before him and fired another laser. Night Terror roared as the laser collided with him and slammed him into the ground, sending dust into the air once more.
The dust was quickly dissipated by another laser slamming into Night Terror. Multiple lasers continued to rain down on Night Terror, slamming into him. Devil Jin finally reached the knight and, with a mighty swing of his fist and a roar, crushed the knight's chest. The impact deepened the crater they were in. Devil Jin pulled his fist from the knight's chest, letting blood drip from it.
"You insolent fool!" Devil Jin hissed. He turned and began to walk away, wings spreading to take flight. Something seemed to pulse in the area, making him pause. Devil Jin turned, eyes narrowing as Night Terror's body turned into shadows. Soul Edge floated in the air before suddenly being surrounded with a ball of fire. Devil Jin took his stance as fire filled the crater.
"Darkness will consume, everything!" the voice of Inferno reached Devil Jin. The demon roared in pain as he felt himself being burned. Devil Jin looked up with eyes of anger, and forced himself to move. Devil Jin approached the figure in the center of the firestorm slowly. Inferno watched him with smugness in his eyes. Devil Jin raised a hand and plunged it into Inferno's chest, but only felt the handle of Soul Edge. Darkness began to cloud his mind.
"Take the blade. Become a part of me. Become my champion!" Inferno's voice echoed in Devil Jin's head. Devil Jin's transformation became undone, and Jin was left kneeling in the middle of a flaming vortex. Nightmare's armor began to form around Jin.
"My corruption has grabbed hold. You belong to me!" Inferno declared in Jin's mind.
"...Anata wa bakadesu. Anata ga anata no ototta chikara de watashi o yūwaku suru koto ga dekiru ka no yō ni."
(You fool. As if you could seduce me with your inferior power.) Jin suddenly scoffed. He began to glow a white light, the armor falling apart.
"What?!" Inferno gasped. Jin placed the tip of the large Soul Edge on the ground and looked at it with contempt. He raised his fist as it crackled with electricity.
"NOOOO!" Inferno roared. Jin's fist slammed into the blade, and with a mighty roar, Jin shattered Soul Edge into pieces. The flames all dispersed, leaving the smoking and burned Jin standing in the center of the crater. He tossed the handle away.
"Kore ga genjitsudesu."
(This is reality.)
KO!
Thea: Now that was a crazy fight.
Bryant: Siegfried put up an excellent fight, but Jin just had him beat in many categories.
Thea: To be fair to Siegfried, he did have some advantages. With several generations worth of memories to draw from, Siegfried was able to keep up with Jin with more experience and skill. And Soul Edge couldn't be destroyed by ordinary weapons, while Devil Jin is just harder to kill with regular weapons, and just easier with holy energy.
Bryant: Except it hardly mattered when Jin possessed so much more.
Thea: Soul Edge here was a tricky thing, but everything that made it dangerous was countered by Jin's Kazama bloodline. Soul Edge can take souls and corrupt people to turn them into monsters, right?
Bryant: Right. Which is the same thing that the Kazama bloodline had prevented in the past. The Kazama bloodline has protected Jin's soul from the corruption of the Devil Gene, and has even allowed other members of the Kazama family to interact with beings who existed on an astral plane, which Soul Edge exists in as well.
Thea: Which rendered a lot of what made Soul Edge so frustrating to deal with moot. Soul Edge couldn't even try to turn Jin into a Nightmare, since the Kazama bloodline gave Jin control over the Devil Gene, which does pretty much the same thing.
Bryant: As a result, Siegfried and Nightmare had to rely on their brute strength and speed to end this fight, something that they fell short of as well. Siegfried's scaling to his own lightning is shaky at best, but even if we were to accept it as fact, Jin could scale to Kazuya's laser, which was moving at two percent the speed of light. Even assuming Siegfried could move at Mach 286, the same speed as lightning, this would still make Jin over 61 times faster.
Thea: And while Siegfried may have the skill of multiple generations, Jin has a fighting-style that's about being fast and aggressive, which Siegfried struggles against. And despite the fact that it's Siegfried who relies on power over speed, he didn't even have that advantage.
Bryant: Siegfried's greatest feat of power came to be around 392 megatons of TNT. Meanwhile, the second greatest feat of power in Tekken came out to be around 4 gigatons of TNT.
Thea: And that was by a Jack-6 model. The same model that Heihachi, Jin's grandpa, one-shotted multiple of!
Bryant: Even assuming that Night Terror was three times as strong as Nightmare and that a complete Soul Edge was twice as powerful as an incomplete one, this would only get him up to 2.3 gigatons of TNT. Almost half of that of Jin's minimum.
Thea: Jin could beat both Kazuya and Heihachi back-to-back in his base form! And Heihachi made Jack-6 look like Jack-chump! And don't even get us started on Heihachi's dad Jinpachi!
Bryant: Who melted rocks with a storm he created. While this may not sound all that impressive, Jinpachi had actually melted enough to equal 45 gigatons of TNT. More than eleven times more than the meteor.
Thea: Sure, Jin might've needed the Devil Gene to do that, but that doesn't change anything. Jin still would have the power to beat Siegfried.
Bryant: Siegfried put up a worthy fight, but he was ultimately defeated by Jin's contrasting fighting-style, greater power, greater speed, and protective bloodline.
Thea: Jin just wins more Schtauffen than not. Which means the winner of this WI Battle is Jin Kazama!
It took me months to finally post Yandere-chan vs the Neighbor, simply because I didn't care that much about the matchup. I cared about this matchup, boom! Took less than two weeks. The fight is longer and better. It's impressive what passion can do. Though I will say that I did put effort into Ch 31. I shouldn't do matchups I don't care about, it's just disrespectful to people who do care about it. Anyways, as per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
ALT. ENDING
(Siegfried's Win)
"Darkness will consume, everything!" the voice of Inferno reached Devil Jin. The demon roared in pain as he felt himself being burned. Devil Jin looked up with eyes of anger, and forced himself to move. Devil Jin approached the figure in the center of the firestorm slowly. Inferno watched him with smugness in his eyes. Devil Jin raised his hand, but the fire suddenly exploded. Devil Jin roared as he was being lifted up. Inferno jammed a fire sword through Devil Jin, causing him to roar even more.
"Fire will consume your soul!" Devil Jin's eyes glowed, and he roared one more time before fire erupted from his body, incinerating him and turning him to ash. Inferno floated above the crater as fire spread through the forest.
"Everything will cower before my power."
NEXT TIME!
"Death walks among you."
"Your angel of death awaits."
