Hm, I want to write Yuma's Daughter Ch 18, but what can I put in it? I don't have enough ideas for a full chapter. I'll ask my friends.

Whelp. Plan B. Seriously, I blanked for months on this. So while I promised twenty chapters in total, I'm afraid that this is going to be the last chapter at eighteen. Thanks to everyone who followed this through to the end, and for all the support. Please enjoy.

"Dad?" Yuma Isogai looked up. He slowly turned around and smiled. His son Soichiro, Hadet's younger brother, was standing in the doorway. The youngest child walked closer to him and smiled at him.
"Hey dad."
"Soichiro, my son." Yuma wrapped a hand around him and gave him a small hug. "Where's your mom?"
"She's… she's fine." Soichiro assured him.
"Soichi, is something wrong?" Yuma looked his son over. Soichiro smiled back.
"Yeah, it's just that things are a bit stressful for me right now."
"What's wrong kiddo?"
"Just some things at work."
"Do I need to beat someone up?" Yuma made to get up, but Soichiro stopped him.
"Dad, come on. I'm old enough to keep myself up." his son promised. Yuma smiled sadly.
"My son has grown up so much. You and your sister. Neither of you need me anymore." he said. Soichiro stood up and pressed a kiss on his father's crown before walking out. Yuma turned back to the window in front of him, smiling in nostalgia.
Outside, Soichiro's smile turned down. He punched the wall next to him, causing it to crack.
"Woah dad, what's up with you?" the sixty year old man turned around to look at his children, a son and two daughters, holding their own children. The oldest child, a daughter named Tomoko, had a sneer.
"Your grandpa is just a bit, well-"
"Retarded?"
"Don't you dare." Soichiro growled. His daughter scoffed.
"Dad, the old man thinks your sister is Death. He's a moron who thinks that he was a badass bounty hunter."
"Don't you dare speak of your grandfather like that!" Soichiro boomed. Tomoko scoffed before walking away. The other two of Soichiro's children, Takashi and Hikari, looked between them with sad looks. Their children gripped their parents, too young to understand.
"Do you think of your grandfather like this too?" Soichiro said sadly.
"No, of course not dad." Hikari assured him. Her brother was more hesitant. He loved his dad, and his grandpa. Some of his happiest memories revolved around his grandfather. But the idea that his aunt was Death? The being who rules the spectral plane? Not to mention that the recent days are being more and more difficult to bear.
Yuma was constantly asking about his wife, Grandma Meg. The woman who died in a plane crash caused by terrorists twenty years ago. Yuma had disappeared for a while, and was found months later. Knocked out terrorists were around him, but there was blood running down the side of his face. Since then, Yuma has had a bad memory, and would often lash out in frustration and fits of anger, though he managed to avoid hitting his family. Now though, his memory had gotten much, much worse.
"Take care of your grandfather for a bit. I need to go find your aunt." Soichiro said as he walked away.
"How will he find her?" Takashi muttered. "She's been missing for the last forty years."
"She'll probably be here soon." Hikari said sadly.
"Dad, is great-grandpa about to die?" Takashi's son asked in curiosity. Being only ten years old, he didn't have that much of a connection with his grandpa. Takashi sighed before carrying the child away, saying that he was going to make some food.
Hikari peeked into the room, seeing her grandfather before walking away. Yuma stared out the window, an old man in his nineties. He wondered about his wife. Where was she? When was she going to get back? His attention was caught by a stranger coming into his room. She had a tray with a plate cover on it. She placed it on the table in front of him with a smile.
"Here you go grandpa. Hope you enjoy your lunch." she said before pulling the cover off. Yuma lit up at the sight of the plate.
"Oh, chicken! I can't remember the last time I had chicken." he said before picking up a fork with shaking hands and cutting a piece of the chicken in front of him. Hikari stood to the side.
"You had it yesterday. And the day before. And the day before." she muttered. Tomoko stalked in with a scowl and a slight bruise on her cheek. It looked like she and their brother got into another fight.
"You're feeding him chicken again?" she grumbled.
"Do you know anything that makes him that happy?" Hikari shot back. She watched Yuma eat his food with a smile and chewing slowly.
"Thank you young lady. What's your name?" he asked.
"It, it's Hikari. I'm your granddaughter." Hikari said sadly. Yuma blinked before smiling apologetically.
"Oh, I'm sorry Hikari. I, I don't know why I didn't remember you."
"It's fine grandpa." Hikari said as she pressed a kiss on Yuma's crown.
"Why do you tolerate him sis?" Tomoko grumbled.
"Shut up Tomoko." Hikari growled. Yuma looked between them with a frown on his face.
"Seriously, he's just dead weight! The only thing he's good for now is his will." Tomoko said. Hikari's fist struck the side of her face, snapping her head to the side. Tomoko and Hikari began to punch each other, pulling their hair and slapping each other. Suddenly, small, supposedly frail hands came between them. Their hands were pushed apart, and the two were pushed apart as well. Yuma stood hunched over, hands coming down to hang at his sides.
"You two, you two are sisters. If you can't rely on family, you can't rely on anyone." he said with a grave voice. Despite his shrunken and skinny body, there was an intense pressure on them. Tomoko looked away with a click of her tongue. Yuma sighed as he hobbled back to his chair, Hikari quickly coming over to help him sit. She threw a glare at Tomoko before helping her grandfather get comfortable. He gave his granddaughter a smile.
"Thank you…"
"Hikari."
"Right, Hikari." Yuma smiled. Tomoko walked out with a scowl.
"Hikari, dear. Be nice to your sister." Yuma said. Hikari bit her lip before nodding. She kissed Yuma again before walking out. Yuma turned back to his food.
"Oh, chicken! I can't remember the last time I had chicken."
-Line Break-
Soichiro was not happy when he got home. He couldn't find his sister despite an entire day of searching, his back was aching, and now he finds out that his kids have been hitting each other. He yelled at them for a bit before visiting his father again. Yuma was clearly tired out, so Soichiro helped his father into bed. Soichiro sighed before walking out and turning off the light. He walked into the living room where his kids were. A man who looked to be in his thirties was waiting there, hovering over the floor with his legs crossed. Soichiro's grandkids were shocked and were trying to figure out how the man was floating.
"Oh. Rokuro. Hey."
"Hey there Soi-kun. Had any luck finding your sister?" Rokuro asked. Soichiro shook his head. The son of Nagisa was older than Soichiro, but he still looked much younger with healthy black hair tied into a ponytail. Soichiro was slightly envious of that.
"I'm guessing by your question that you didn't find her either."
"Nope. Sorry." Rokuro shrugged. He looked at the hallway Soichiro walked out of as Soichiro shooed his grandkids away to find their parents. "How's your old man?"
"Tired, and still has amnesia. I'm honestly more worried about my kids." Soichiro explained to Rokuro the problem with his kids. How they're disagreeing with each other, and how Tomoko was viewing her grandfather in such a bad light.
"Heh. I wish dad was here. He'd know what to say." Rokuro sighed as he landed on the ground.
"How about Ane-Ue?" (Japanese term for honorable sister)
"Big Sis Sakura? She's in the middle of mourning Big Bro Sho."
"Oh, he died?"
"Yeah. Big Sis wanted a private funeral. It was just her, Tsutsuji, her husband, and their kids."
"Tell Ane-Ue that I'm sorry I didn't know."
"She'll forgive ya. The reason for a private funeral is that it's private." Soichiro and Rokuro sighed before Rokuro floated up again.
"Well, I'll keep looking for Hadet. You just stay here and take care of your dad."
"Thank Roku." Soichiro nodded as Rokuro flew out the window.
"One more thing before I go." Rokuro said as he turned back to Soichiro. "I'm not dad, and I don't think I know what I can say. But maybe try to find Tomoko's demons."
'Her demons?' Soichiro thought as Rokuro flew out. Soichiro thought this over before standing up. He walked through the halls. Past his father's room, past the bathroom, past his own room, before coming to a stop. He knocked on the door and opened it. Tomoko looked up at her dad from her spot on her bed.
"What?"
"Tomoko, I want you to spend time with your grandfather." Something flashed in Tomoko's eyes before dying down, replaced with a scowl. But Soichiro saw the flash, and he was firm in his decision.
"Dad, I don't want to."
"I don't care. Your grandfather doesn't have that much time left. I want you to spend as much time with him as you can." Soichiro said sternly. Tomoko looked down before looking back up.
"Fine." she spat.
"Good." Soichiro said before closing the door.

Yuma hobbled out of the house, hands gripping a walker as he slowly made his way to a car. He was dressed in a plaid shirt and khakis. Soichiro helped his father get in and sit in the back seat. He nodded to his daughter who scoffed as she got into the driver's seat. Takashi and Hikari also nodded to their sister, though Hikari's was accompanied by a warning glare. Tomoko flipped her sister off before ducking into her car.
"So, where do you want to go old man?" Tomoko asked dismissively as she pulled out of the driveway and drove down the road.
"Hm? Oh, I'm in a car." Yuma realized. Tomoko groaned as she continued to drive.
-Line Break-
Tomoko didn't know why her dad was making her do this. Why was she driving her grandpa, who barely even realized that he was in a car, around? She didn't know the first thing she wanted to do with him. After a bit of thinking, she pulled up to a clothing store.
"Come on old man. I'll get you some new clothes." she said.
"Ah, thank you young lady." Yuma was helped out of the car and hobbled to the store. Tomoko followed and began browsing through the different articles of clothing. Yuma walked around, leaning on his walker.
"Hm… I wonder where's the milk?"
"We're here for clothes!" Tomoko groaned. Yuma laughed sheepishly as he began looking over the clothes.
Tomoko rolled her eyes as she picked out several pieces of clothing and hurried into a dressing room. If she had to spend time with her grandpa, might as well make the most of it. She pulled on an outfit composed of a denim jacket, a yellow shirt, and blue jeans and looked herself over in the mirror.
"Hmph." she nodded.
"Happy birthday Tomoko! I got you that jacket you wanted."
"Wow! Thanks grandpa!"
Tomoko froze. She slammed a fist on the wall of the dressing room with a hiss. She took a moment to breathe and calm herself down. Inhaling deeply, she walked out to see Yuma waiting on a bench with newly bought clothes next to him. His eyes were closed, and he was breathing carefully. Tomoko recognized it as meditation and clicked her tongue in irritation. She quickly paid for the clothes and walked over to Yuma.
"Hey old man, we're done. Let's go." she said. Yuma snapped to attention and smiled.
"Hello young lady."
"Let's go." Tomoko repeated. Yuma stood shakingly and followed Tomoko out the store.
"Where shall we go next?" Yuma asked as he trailed behind his granddaughter. Tomoko scoffed as she looked away. Yuma frowned at this reaction but continued to follow her into the car.
"We'll grab some food and then we'll go home." Tomoko said as she pulled onto the highway.
"Okay. Where to young lady?"
"Well since you like chicken so much, why don't we go to freakin' Kyoto's Fried Chicken?" Tomoko said sarcastically.
"Ah, chicken. I can't remember-"
"Yesterday! You had chicken yesterday! Gah!" Tomoko groaned. Yuma chuckled sheepishly.
-Line Break-
"This is delicious." Yuma said as he took a bite from his food. Tomoko rolled her eyes. It was just a burger.
"Hurry up and finish eating so that we can go home." she grunted.
"..." Yuma studied Tomoko's face.
"What Old Man."
"What is your name?" Yuma asked. Tomoko's face twisted, and she stood up before storming out. Yuma took out his wallet with shaking hands and placed a few bills down before following after her.
"Young lady, why do you seem to dislike me so much? Yuma asked with a sorrowful look on his face. His granddaughter stopped and turned around with an angry look on her face.
"How can I not!" Tomoko snapped. "Every day! Every day, just looking at you…"
"Look at me grandpa!"
"Wow! That's impressive! You're doing it with just one hand."
"I can do better! Watch this!"
"In a one-handed handstand? Well done!"
"I'm the best in the family when it comes to doing pushups!"
"Now don't get ahead of yourself young lady. Grandpa can do that too. Watch!"
"You can do the stand, but can you do the pushup?"
"I can."
"Prove it! First to a hundred wins!"
"Alright!"
"Every day, I wonder…"
"Hey, what's wrong Tomoko?"
"My boyfriend dumped me…"
"Let me see that."
"...Grandpa? What are you- grandpa!"
"What, he deserves it."
"Seriously!"
"You're smiling."
"I am and I hate it!"
"Why…?"
"Grandpa! You're finally home! Are you okay? Where were you?"
"..."
"Grandpa?"
"I was the one who loved you the most!"
"I'm sorry, what's your name?"
"And yet… I'm the one you don't even remember…" Tomoko choked, tears running down her face. Yuma stared at the granddaughter whose name he couldn't remember as she cried.
"You remembered the other two as soon as they introduced themselves, even if it was only for a bit. You even remember that stupid meditation tactic. But why not me?" Tomoko turned away. Yuma frowned. He reached into his mind with all of his energy, grasping desperately for something. Anything. Finally, his mind grasped it.
"...Young lady. Your first boyfriend broke up with you in order to date your best friend." Yuma said. Tomoko blinked, turning around to look at him in surprise.
"What?"
"You were often compared to your siblings, viewed as their inferior despite being their older, and felt incompetant as a result. You show off quite often in physical contests, and often came over to my house to show off to me without having your father tell you not to. I taught you how to box, and you took your first win at the age of sixteen." Yuma said. He looked incredibly tired, but his voice was strong. Tomoko's eyes were wide, and she was silent.
"I remember… I remember you. I may not remember your name. But I, remember." Yuma said, before falling to his side.
"G-grandpa? Grandpa!"
-Line Break-
Yuma laid in a white bed, tubes coming from his arm. His eyes slowly opened, and he groaned slightly. Soichiro looked up from the side of the bed and stood up, coming over to Yuma's side.
"Dad? How are you feeling?" he asked urgently. Yuma looked over and smiled at him.
"Soichiro. Ah, when did you get so old?" Yuma teased. Soichiro smiled sadly.
"So it finally got fixed? If only it happened earlier."
"Yes. If only." Yuma sighed. Soichiro stood up and went over to the hospital room door. He looked out and gestured. Takashi, Hikari, and Tomoko stood up and walked in. Tomoko hung out near the back as Takashi and Hikari walked over to their grandfather.
"Grandpa, are you feeling okay?" Hikari asked gently.
"Hikari, Takashi. You two have grown so much." Yuma said. Takashi made a noise of surprise as Hikari gasped.
"Grandpa?"
"I remember everything now. I just wish, I did so earlier." Yuma coughed violently. Soichiro brought a cup of water to Yuma's lips, and the old man drank slowly. He swallowed before looking at them.
"Your father asked me a while ago to give everything to you three, as he is also old and has no need for them. Take my inheritance, and be people you can be proud of, and raise your children to be proud as well." Yuma said.
"Grandpa, don't talk about that now. Let's just enjoy things right now." Hikari said gently. Yuma smiled gently.
"I'm afraid we don't have enough time. I have strength to talk as I am, but my death draws closer with every breath. I have to speak now. Hikari, Takashi. You two have shown me great love and care. I know that if I die, you two will have no regrets. Tomoko." Yuma tilted his head slowly to look at his granddaughter. Soichiro gestured, and she timidly came forwards, head bowed.
'Tomoko… my older sister, who always held her head high with the pride of a lion, is cowering.' Takashi thought.
"Tomoko. I know you were hurting. I was a pillar for you, and I forgot you. You were hurt, and felt betrayed that the man who promised to always be there was not. I understand. And I-"
"Don't. I, I don't get to be forgiven. Even if I was hurt, I shouldn't have ever said those things about and to you." Tomoko said miserably. Yuma smiled.
"Tomoko. I do forgive you. It's the job of family to do so. And so I do. Be proud. Have the fire of passion fuel your soul, and let go of the shadows of your regret and bitterness. Be the granddaughter I loved so much. Promise me." he said. His voice was becoming weaker, and his lips barely moved. But every word rang true in Tomoko's mind. Her lips thinned, and she nodded. She leaned over and pressed a light kiss on Yuma's forehead before straightening. Yuma looked around his family, and smiled.
"My children. You have made life worth living after my wife died. I have no regrets, and no bitterness in my body. Be happy, be strong. Be together, as I taught you how." he said tiredly. With his final words spoken, Yuma Isogai laid his head down, and died. Hikari, Takashi, and Tomoko choked, tears running down their faces as their grandfather died. Soichiro bent over the bed, hugging his father's still body close before straightening. Nurses and doctors came in with equipment, but Soichiro raised a hand. They stopped, looked at each other, before approaching the body and taking it away slowly. The family of four stayed in the empty room, the air being filled with their tears.
"Come children. Let's do what he said." Soichiro said gently. Takashi and Hikari nodded, but Tomoko leaned against the wall with a thud.
"He forgave me. But I can't forgive myself." she said quietly.
"Tomoko. Every mistake apologized for needs to be forgiven by two people if it was genuine. The victim, and the culprit. If you feel as though you are beyond forgiveness, then you are closer than you think. Be and stand proud, and one day, you just might." Soichiro said as he gave his daughter a hug. He looked at the three.
"Now, we have to tell the rest of our family. Tell them what happened, and we can truly let our tears flow after." Soichiro said. "Be strong until then, okay?"
"Okay dad." Hikari nodded as she wiped tears from her eyes. Soichiro shooed them out the door. The three siblings began to walk through the halls before Tomoko stopped, drawing the attention of her siblings.
"Grandpa gave us three the inheritance. But you two deserve it more. Take my portion." she said.
"Nee-chan…" Takashi looked at her.
"Are you sure?" Hikari asked in concern. "You, you talked about it a lot before."
"Well, I was a real piece of sh*t before." Tomoko said. She nodded to her siblings. "If I want to forgive myself, I gotta make sure I change into someone worth forgiving."
"..." her siblings put their arms around her shoulder, causing her to look at them in confusion.
"Hey. We were at war for a while now. Let's stop, and be family." Takashi said with a grin.
"Family sticks together." Hikari said. Tomoko rolled her eyes and smiled. She wrapped her arms around their shoulders, and they continued to walk.
"Instead of giving us your portion, let's use it together. Use it in a way that will make Grandpa proud." Takashi said.
"Okay. What should we do?" Tomoko said. The three walked off, discussing their plan for the future as Soichiro watched this with a smile. When they disappeared, he opened the door of his father's hospital room.
"AHA!" he yelled.
"Yikes!" Hadet yelped as she fell down. Soichiro strolled up to his older sister and looked down at her with a harumph.
"So, you finally show up."
"Heh. Sorry Soi-chan." Hadet said as she floated up to her feet. The once four-year old girl was now in the body of a twenty year old. Her hair was smooth and as black as the night, and her skin was as white as the moon. Her eyes held the same intelligence it did when she was small, but it had the warmth that was always shown in the eyes of her parents. She smiled mischievously at her brother before kissing his cheek.
"Did dad…?"
"Don't worry. He passed on without any issue." she assured him. "He'll be judged, but something tells me he won't have anything to worry about. Make sure he doesn't by doing what he asked, okay?"
"I'll do that if you stick around more. Death or not death, you're a sister, and you need to help make sure the family stays together as a part of it. Promise that." Soichiro said.
"Still as demanding as ever. Alright, I'll see you more from now on. Promise." Hadet made an X over her chest. Soichiro grinned.
"Good." he said. Hadet saluted before disappearing into shadows. Soichiro walked out with a satisfied smile on his face, taking out his phone to make calls to their family. With his sister back, and his children reconnecting, he had a good feeling about the future.
And there it is, the end of Yuma's Daughter. I might remake this in the future, maybe turn the idea into an actual book, but not for a while, as I have many other things to work on. Thanks to everyone for reading my fourth oldest fic, and the Assclass fic that I'm most proud of. Stick around, as there is one more scene to this story before the curtains fall for good. As per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
Darkness. That was the first thing that he saw. It was dark, but it wasn't scary. The man walked through the darkness, shaking from old bones. But as he walked, his bones became stronger. His muscles filled out, and his skin softened. His hair darkened, and his body became straight. Yuma Isogai, as young as he was before, jogged through the darkness. Where was he going? He didn't know. But he just felt that he did. And eventually, he came up to a door.
Not feeling even the slightest bit tired from his run, he grasped the doorknob, and opened it to a flood of light. He walked in, and smiled. A woman was standing there in front of him, as beautiful as the day he lost her, in front of two golden gates with her hands on her hips. She smiled, and the two embraced and kissed.
"You finally came." Meg Isogai said. "I'd be more upset if it didn't mean you got to live more."
"Hope you didn't find someone else while I was gone." Yuma joked. Meg smiled and slapped his chest playfully. The two held hands as they walked away from the door and through the gates. Yuma lit up and waved. The Assassination Classroom, save from a few members, all hurried over to greet their class president.
"Soon, the Assassination Classroom will be all together again." Nagisa said as he walked up to him.
"Sorry Nagisa. I know you were waiting the longest." Yuma said. "Well, aside from Korosensei."
"No matter." Nagisa shrugged. A handsome, black-haired man appeared behind Nagisa with a beautiful woman at his side.
"We can wait for eternity." the human Korosensei said as he hugged Aguri Yukimura to him. "After all, the time I spent waiting for you all is nothing more than a distinct memory now that you are here."
"Come on Yuma. Since you're here, I'd probably be telling the story of my courageous death in World War III for the twentieth time." Nagisa said as he walked to where Akari Shiota was waiting.
"And you'll tell it again and again when Ryu, Rinka, and Karma finally get here. As well as their kids. Who do you think will be first?" Tomohito Sugino asked as he walked next to the group.
"Rinka. Ryu has a healing factor, so his aging is slowed, and Karma is too stubborn. He might live forever just to prove he can." Nagisa joked.
"He would." Tomohito sighed as he scratched the back of his head.
"I'm not entirely looking forward to telling my heroic death to the literal hundreds of Chiba kids though." Nagisa sweatdropped.
"I was very relieved to hear that only a third of them were biological." Korosensei sweatdropped as well.
"We can hear your heroic ventures later Nagisa. Right now, Yuma has yet another reunion." Meg said as she pulled Yuma along. The Assassination Classroom waved after him as the two walked along.
"This is where we'll be living for eternity." Meg said. Yuma looked at the house, jaw nearly dropping. Due to his, Meg's, and Soichiro's hard work, the Isogais' previous life of poverty was a bitter memory. But he was still stunned by the sight of the mansion in front of him.
"This is where the people who raised the previous Deaths come to live too." Meg said. "We'll be meeting all of them wonderful people who raised Hadet's previous incarnations. The ones who managed to get into Heaven anyways."
"It's beautiful!" Yuma exclaimed. A loud laugh caught his attention, and his smile widened even more.
"Indeed it is! Now come on Yuma!" Masumi Isogai said, the older Isogai being accompanied by his wife. "There's more."
"Remember the child that we lost? The one before Soichiro, from the miscarriage?" Meg asked quietly. Yuma looked at her with wide eyes.
"You mean…?"
"Baby! Come out here and meet your daddy!" Meg called.
"Daddy!" a little girl, only two years old physically, hurried out of the house. Yuma's face broke out in an even wider smile as he fell to a knee, arms open to accept his unborn daughter into his hands.
If this was a dream, he never wanted to wake up.
