The quiet of the night is suddenly shattered by the sound of thunder. A swirling whirlpool of rainbow colors and lightning emerges in the sky. From the whirlpool frantically emerges a dragon. Most of its scales are a cloudy white, but the color of its underbelly and inside of its claws are colored a light grey. While its eyes are colored a sky blue, however the dragon was covered in several gashes in its natural armor with a light coating of dirt and blood. The saddle attached to its back was hanging on by a thread.

Clinging on to the saddle was a tall, young woman in her early twenties with short, shaved on the sides dirty-blonde hair with a squarish slightly masculine face. She was dressed in ragged chainmail armor covered in blood and dirt, hers and her enemies, and rapped in a filthy ragged brown cloak. The two partners looked like they had not rested in days.

"Did we lose them," the dragon asked her partner. "Probably not. Let's not take any chances," responded the rider. But just as she cut off the magic for the portal, a great black shadow flew out of the remains of the portal, unleashing an unholy shriek as it streaked across the night sky toward its prey.

The creature looked similar to a dragon. But where a dragon was covered in bright scales it was covered in dark, thick, leathery skin, giving it the appearance of a starved dog. Where a dragon would have a jaw full of sharp teeth, the creature had seven-foot-long sharp beak under a pair of eyes the size of a grown man's fist without pupils or irises. Along with large leathery wings that it used to quickly catch-up to the dragon and rider. It was a Lethrblaka, a creature that hunted all creatures in its path, its favorite meal being the flesh of humans and dragons.

On top of the lethrblaka's back was a hunched over figure dressed in a ragged black, hooded cloak. From the hood glinted two large eyes without pupils or irises above a chinless face with a sharp beak that clicked over a purple barbed tongue. The figure appeared to be a man, but it was a Raz'ac, one of the lefthrblaka's unholy spawn.

Dragon and rider quickly turned to meet their foe with a challenging bellow. The two titans slammed into each other, biting and clawing frantically to crush their opponent. All the while, rider and Raz'ac clashed swords while defending their mounts. The rider wielded a white bladed sword that matched the color of her partners scales with clear stand in the pommel, while the Raz'ac wielded a sword with a leaf-shaped blade. The dragon attempting to clamp down on the Lethrblaka's neck, while her enemy tried to spear her with its long beak, aiming at her eyes, neck and belly. "Give us the eggs rider" shouted the Raz'ac as they locked swords. "You will never have them," shouted back the rider.

Soon enough, the titans released each other as they hovered and circled their opponents, searching for an opening to finish each other off. It was only then, while both parties were wounded leaking blood, did the Lethrblaka look down and realize exactly where they were. Above deep water, a lethrblaka's and Raz'ac's worst fear as they couldn't swim. Suddenly overcome with panic, the lethrblaka without any prompt from its rider turned and flew away, quickly disappearing into the dark sky. The Raz'ac looked down and began to click and shriek in its species unique language. "Mother, what are you doing? We can finish them now." Its mother without looking up answered in a panicked response. "Look down and you'll know why." The Raz'ac then turned looked over his mother's side and realized why. If he had eyelids they would have blinked in fear and quickly turned forward before saying "Never mind, please continue." Never looking back or down as they flew northeast away from the battlefield.

Rider and dragon could only watch as their enemies disappeared into the night. "We're not going to pursue them Eivor?!" The dragon asked her partner incredulously. "No Agaravel, we've been flying almost non-stop for over a month now. We must find a place to land to recover before we can pursue them. We also have to consider the eggs we are protecting; we can't risk them falling into their hands." Agaravel could only huff in annoyance and resignation, knowing that she is right. As they began to fly away, Eivor looking into the saddle bags to check on the eggs. Soon enough she began to panic as she frantically checked and recounted their precious cargo. "Eivor, what is the matter?!" Asked Agaravel turning one eye to glance at her partner. "One of the eggs has fallen out, the bag must have been ripped during the battle" she shouted as she peered through a hole in one of the bags. Agaravel roared in panic and anger as she quickly dove down to the ocean and began to frantically scan the surf for the missing egg. "Agaravel, were too exhausted to search for the egg. We have to find land to rest and recover." Agaravel looked back at her partner as she moaned in concern. "But the egg-"

"Is indestructible and won't break from a fall this easily. We still have to look after the rest of the eggs. We can search for it later, I promise" Eivor tried to assure her partner. Agaravel could only roar in anguish as she knew her rider was right. If they tried to search for the egg, they would eventually collapse into the sea from exhaustion and drown. As both parties flew away, neither noticed as a silver egg briefly gleamed in the moonlight as it drifted away on the ocean surf.

Three Days Later

Takobah Municipal beach park

The beach once noted for its excellent ocean view, was now nothing more than a garbage filled wasteland. Years ago, this place was once a scenic place where children could enjoy the beach, couples could go for a quick dip but now it was nothing but a dump where people would take advantage of the ocean currents bringing trash here to illegally dump years of trash and filth. Ranging from small stuff such as ruined appliances to even old washing machines and vehicles. However, that is not to say the place has been completely forsaken. A single boy was seen carefully lifting some heavy pieces of garbage and carrying them out to an old red truck parked next to the beach. The youth was in his late teens but noticeably short for his age and was quite skinny. He had messy black hair with green highlights, large round green eyes, and had four diamond shaped freckles on each cheek. All in all, despite these, some people would say he was quite plain looking compared to most people his age. His name was Izuku Midoriya, and he why was he lifting garbage you ask?

About one month ago, Izuku life and fortune had been changed forever when he met none other than his idle, All Might, the number hero and the symbol of peace. After witnessing Izuku risk his life to rescue his former childhood friend turned bully, All Might offered Izuku the chance to inherent his quirk, One for All, a power passed on from generation to generation. For most of his life Izuku had been ridiculed and bullied for wanting to be a hero, even though he was part of the unfortunate twenty percent of the population that did not have a quirk. But he continued to study and analyze any form of power in an attempt to discover a way for him to become a hero without a quirk. But thankfully, he ended meeting All Might and the rest his history. Unfortunately, Izuku never spent any part of his childhood exercising or preparing to enter U.A., All Might alma mater, and the top hero school in the country. All Might warned him that if he was to be given the quirk now there was a good chance that his unprepared body break down and his limbs would go flying off. So, to cut back on lost time, All Might gave him an intense work out regime to prepare him for the quirk and the difficult Hero course exam in the next ten months.

Speaking of whom, said hero was currently overlooking his potential successor progress. But instead of the muscular super star the world knows him from tv, is now skeletal emaciated fellow, more bones than skin. Five years ago, All Might had fought a desperate battle against a powerful enemy that left him wounded an unable to use his power for more than three hours a day. But now he had chosen Izuku Midoriya to inherent his power and was looking forward to the entrance exam.

The hours went by as Izuku continued to haul trash from the beach. Taking frequent breaks every so often to conserve his strength. Just when they were about to close shop for the day, something glinting the water caught Izuku's eye. Later, he never knew what drew him to that object in the water, maybe it was fate or destiny at play but that didn't matter. "Young Midoriya, your trainings done for the day, where are you going?" All Might called out to his successor. "Sorry, All Might, there's something glinting over there." Answered Izuku as he ran to the sea. Upon reaching the object, he was surprised to find a small, oval shaped silver stone bobbing in the water. As he picked it up, Izuku was surprised to feel how warm and smooth it was despite it floating in the ocean.

"Young Midoriya, what do you have there?" His mentor asked as he came back to the truck. "I found this floating in the ocean All Might. Any idea what it is?" He asked as he showed the stone to All Might. The number one hero carefully looked at the stone and answered. "I don't know, I've never seen or heard of anything like this before." But after looking at the stone, he then noted the look in his proteges' eyes. "You're not planning to take it home, are you?"

"Well, I guess it could be used as a reminder of why I'm doing this. A souvenir to help me remember that I'm cleaning this beach not only to help me reach my goal of entering U.A.'s hero course, but I'm also trying bring back the beaches natural view." All Might couldn't help but smile and let out his characteristic laugh as he turned into his muscular form. "Such an inspirational thought. Very well young Midoriya, if that stone will inspire you to keep up the hard work, then I see no reason for you not to take it." Then he almost immediately deflated to his unpowered state. "But I do suggest you keep it hidden till you get home. Something with that color and smoothness could get a villains or a kleptomaniac's attention."

Izuku realized that he was right. Stuffing the stone in his nearby pack, along with some of his notes from school and workout sessions as he quickly made his way home. No one knew that day, that the hand of fate had once again pointed her finger at Izuku Midoriya. A boy who would change the fate of two worlds forever.

Afternotes; I just couldn't believe that after all this time, there have been so few MHA and Inheritance cycle crossovers. Well, here you go folks, my idea of how Izuku Midoriya becomes hero society's first dragon rider hero. Inspired by A Rose's Scales by pokemon1280 and Wings of Freedom by jikker jack. Like it, Hate it, don't care I just had to get this story out of my head. Enjoy and till next time Leo out!
