Conner Kenjiro is my name and this is my tale of how I became the top student at duel academy. I have red and black spiked hair, and I have a dark blue eye and a golden eye. My story starts in my third year at another dueling school where I already reign as one of the Six Duel Kings. It all started when I'm approached by this noob who thought he could take me on and take my crown. I'm sitting by the creek talking to two girls when all of a sudden this dork came up to me and held up his deck.

"I got a lot of rare cards to beat you Conner!" said the noob

"Yeah, I'm sure" I said to him.

"I challenge you to a duel Conner!" the kid shouts. "One last match! This time I'll get you!"

I got up from my spot and ask the girls to reserve it for me. That spot by the creek is quite popular with the students after school especially the girls.

I put on my duel disk and we duel.

The noob started first. "I summon Hero of the East in attack mode! he said and he summoned a samurai in green armor Atk/1100 Def/1000 LV 3."

"Now its my turn!" I said. "Your hero is a zero, noob! I play the spell reinforcement of the army. With this card I can add a warrior to my hand. Now I summon Dual Avatar Fists - Yuhi!" I summon a cooler monster that looks like he's from Tekken. The other kids cheer for my monster making the other kid mad because they were on my side. Atk/1800 DEF/1000 LV 4/

"Go Yuhi, beat down his Zero of the East!"

Yuhi runs toward the lesser monster. He would have taken him out if it wasn't for that stupid Negate Attack card. I kick the dirt. "Typical beginner using Negate Attack to save you. You're going to have to do better than that if you want to beat me, kid!"

"Oh, I will! I'm going to beat you and take my place with the Six Duel Kings ha ha ha ha. I draw and I equip Hero of the East with Bashing Shield and it will increase his attack by 1000 points making him stronger than your fighter. Now I summon the All-Seeing White Tiger in attack mode. Yes, now I have two powerful monsters to beat you with. Go, Hero of the East, destroy his Dual Avatar!"

The kid's samurai flies toward me and stabs Yuhi in the stomach. I lose Life Points. Then the kid commands his tiger to strike me next but I was ready.

"I activate the effect of my Dual Avatar Feet - Kokoku" A fighter dressed in white morphs in front of me and blasts the tiger back with fierce kicks. Since his defense was 2000 and the tiger's was 1300, he couldn't strike my life points and I was safe from his attack.

"Yay!" A group of girls cheers. "Conner! Conner! Conner!"

That made the other kid even madder. He hated that I was more popular than him.

"Stop! he shouted. "You should be cheering for me!"

I laughed at him. "They won't cheer for a noob like you. I sacrifice Kokoku with his special effect to fusion summon a monster. I summon Dual Avatar - Armored Ah-Gyo."

Kokoku turned into white flames that turned red and transformed into a warrior monk with black and red armor.

"Wow!" cried the kid. "I've never seen that card before."

I command my monster to attack and then beat him. The kid picks up his cards and goes running away.

After I beat him the principal of the school comes to the fields where we kids hung out and asks me to follow him to his office. As we walk down the hall he says to me: "Conner, your one of the best players in this school, and you have made me proud my boy."

"Meh," I said to him. "There's no challenge here. I'm getting really bored."

that makes the principal smile at me even more. "Which is why I made a phone call to an old friend of mine. Come with me."

The next thing I know the principal takes me to the gym where some guy in a dark blue coat is waiting for me. "So you must be Conner Kenjiro he said"

"Yeah that's me," I said

"Good. Your skills got wind of Dr. Vellion Crowler."

"Crowler, I said, you mean that guy that looks like a woman?"

"Sure if that's what you think," said the guy in the blue. "He instructed me to scout you since you're one of the best if not the best player in school. Well it's time to test out your skills."

"Fine," i told him. "If you wanna face me that bad. But why do you wanna scout me? What is this for?"

"Dr. Crowler thinks you have the skills needed to attend duel academy. The best dueling school on the planet. Only the best of the best can go there."

"Duel academy? For real? They want me to go?"

"Yes. The higher ups think it would be a waste to leave you here like this. But they sent me to see how good you really are. Now, get your cards ready. Its time to duel!"

"All right," I said. "Finally I can leave this dump of a school and go to a place worthy of my talents."

"Then I suppose you don't mind if I start first!"

We both power up our Duel Disks.

"I will start first!" said the guy in the blue. "I play pot of greed and draw 2 cards. Next I play graceful charity and draw 3 cards but discard 2. Now for delinquent duo. This card lets me discard a card from your hand and then you discard one."

I send my cards away. "That the best you got!" I shout.

"Oh, there's more where that came from!" He had 3000 LP since he had to pay 1000 to play delinquent duo. "I set a card face down and end my turn!"

"My turn! I summon Yuuhi of the Souten Fist! And then I set one card face-down and attack you with Yuuhi!"

Yuuhi jumps to attack.

"I activate my trap, negate attack!"

"Damn, I hate that card!" I said.

The scout draws. "You're going to hate what's coming. First, I activate brain control! This card lets me seize one of your monsters. Then I play cost down. I discard a card from my hand and one of my monster's levels is reduced by two. I sacrifice your Yuuhi to summon the Creator!"

He summoned a big red giant with 2800 ATK points.

"And it gets better. When the creator is summoned I can summon a monster from my graveyard. Go primineral kongreat!"

The creator casted a spell that summoned a big giant gorilla thing the size of a mountain. It had 3000 ATK.

I look at his monsters and laugh. "Is that supposed to scare me?"

The scout was not impressed. "I'll teach you to respect my monsters, punk! I attack you directly and end this duel!"

"I don't think so! I activate my trap, souten returns! It lets me bring back a souten monster from my graveyard. I choose Koukoku of the Souten kicks! And it lets me summon a Souten token to my side of the field. Also, since Koukoku is summoned, I can add a souten trap to my my hand."

"Sure, your life points are safe, but your monsters aren't! Creator and kongreat attack!"

His monsters pummel Koukoku and my token.

"Scared yet!" shouted the scout.

"Pleased, your barely even a challenge. I set two cards face down and end my turn."

"Oh, a wise guy huh? Well, I'll teach you! Creator and Kongreat attack!"

"I activate my trap!"

"What! You set a trap for me!"

"Yeah. First, Lost Wind. This card will cut your Kongreat's attack by half! Then, Souten's Duty! which lets me banish as Souten spell or trap and then it becomes that effect. I banished Souten Returns which brought back Koukoku, in turn letting me add a Souten card to my hand and another token to protect me!"

The weakened Kongreat and the Creator destroyed Koukoku and the token again but this time I was sure I was going to get him.

"I set a card face-down and summon Yuuhi of the Souten Fists!"

"Him again! I beat him before, and I'll do it again."

"Not this time! I sacrifice him to activate his effect. I add a Souten spell to my hand. And now I activate it! Souten Calling. It lets me fill my monster zones with souten tokens. I can use them to fusion summon Souten monsters from my extra deck! I tribute four Souten tokens to summon Gaia of the Souten Fists and Gaiun of the Souten Kicks!"

More powerful versions of my fighters were summoned, ready to do my bidding and take down the scout. He looked at me with fear as my two warriors stood on both sides of me.

"First, Gaia allows me to destroy a monster you control! Take out his Creator!"

Gaia jumped up high and smashed his fist in the Creator's face. The monster blew up. Wind blew around us. The scout screamed like a girl but I was still like a statue. I then commanded Gaia to attack his Kongreat, vanquishing the last of his monsters.

The principal smiled because of how proud he was of me. "I told you Conner was good."

The scout was confident he could beat me. In his hand, he had a mirror force. "Heh, heh, heh, if I use this, I can wipe the field of his monsters." He set it and ended his turn.

"And I'll activate my trap!" I said. "Souten's Duty. You remember what this does, right? Well, I just so happen to have another Souten Returns in my GY. And I'll use it to bring back Yuuhi! My turn!" I said as Yuuhi jumped out and stood next to me. "I summon Kokukou of the Souten Kick and use Souten Exorcism to destroy him and your face-down card."

"What! Oh nooo!"

"That's right. Now you're wide open for a direct attack! Yuuhi and Gaia, attack and finish this duel!"

My two fighters jump up and beat the scout down. He groans and then his LP go down to 0. "Oh, man. This kid is good!" he said.

I power down my duel disk and say goodbye to the principal.

"I know you'll make us proud at the academy, Conner," said the principal. "Good luck."

"Heh, I don't need luck. Who do you think I am? Joey fucking Wheeler? I've got the skill needed to take on those so-called elite students at Duel Academy."

The scout picked himself up and brushed the dirt off his jacket. "We'll just see about that," he said. "Just because you beat me doesn't mean you can beat the likes of Zane Truesdale or Chazz Princeton. And there's a new up-and-comer named Jaden Yuki. He may be in the lowest-ranked dorm of the academy, but he's no pushover. He's slowly becoming one of the best."

"Heh, if a low-ranked student is your best, I'd hate to see your worst."

The scout gave me an angry look. "Pack your bags, junior. Tomorrow we'll see just how good you are."

And so that was it. I said goodbye to my old friends and prepared for my new life at the academy. What challenges awaited me there? I don't know, but I was ready for them.
