Chapter 1: Not So Bad

New Start

Death wasn't what i was expecting, i thought it would be just nothingness, the end of everything. But it wasn't that at all, it was… different. At first it was nothing but darkness and a vague sense of… self? It's hard to put into words, i was still aware somehow but at the same time i was nothing at all.

Anyway that's not the point, after what could have been seconds, hours or even years since it was impossible to tell i started seeing my life play out in my head. Every tear, every laugh, every love, every death and everything else. It was not a pleasant experience nor was it a bad one, but sitting through your life over and over again was not fun.

So again after what felt like an eternity something happened, i started to feel again, a heart beat, an arm twitch. But it felt wrong, not like it used to be at all, almost alien.

It wasn't until the blinding light of the outside world reached my eyes that i realised what had happened. I never believed in reincarnation but my mother did, she would always say that nature was the greatest recycler and that when we died it would recycle us too, i guess she was right.

But i'm sure even she didn't think that when you reincarnated you went to a different world entirely. What am i getting at? Well when i took in the faces of my seemingly new father and mother i realised that i wasn't in for a normal life at all. My father was, somehow, 'Fugaku Uchiha' and my mother was 'Mikoto Uchiha' i had apparently taken the place of Sasuke Uchiha.

Now my first week in this world was nothing but annoyance, not being able to do anything was so frustrating, but i was able to adapt. After i had adapted i got to thinking, i didn't want to follow the normal timeline but if i didn't i would lose the advantage of knowing what's coming. My goal was clear, have fun and maybe if it was possible, take over the world, not because i wanted to make a better world or because i cared for the people, it was because it sounded fun.

What i haven't mentioned was that when i was born… again. i had awakened the sharingan, maybe it was because of my memories from my past life that triggered it, or maybe it was because the umbilical cord was around my neck when i was born. But regardless i was the first in history to be born with them. Feeling the drain on my chakra for the first time was so fascinating, it wasn't a feeling i could describe since there was nothing in my old life to compare it to. Though it didn't drain my chakra nearly as much as i expected, it was so low that when i got older i saw no reason to ever turn them off.

As the years passed by one thing was clear, i was not like Sauske at all. I didn't just mean in personality but appearance and even in name. For some reason i had the same looks i had in my past life… well except for my hair colour. My name was 'Elios' which was also my original name, my hair was shoulder length and disheveled.

I wasn't the timid boy that Sasuke was, i was a fighter through and through. I would train in secret all the time, i would spy on others in the training grounds in the hopes of learning some techniques with the sharingan. Fugaku seemed to take a greater interest in me but Itachi always found a way to upstage everything i did, i knew why he was doing it so i didn't mind.

For the most part i kept my true strength hidden from everyone, not for any real reason i just didn't like showing off… well not unless girls were around anyway.

The night of the massacre was not a surprise, i was expecting it and even waiting for it to happen. I had no intention of saving anybody, what i wasn't expecting was to actually care about what happened to my parents. I never considered them my real parents because i could still remember my originals, but for some reason i was crushed when Itachi showed me what happened in the world of tsukuyomi.

I didn't realize it at the time but since my eyes had fully matured by this point i actually awakened my mangekyo sharingan before i passed out. I know what you're thinking but i didn't have enough chakra to use it at this point, in fact i wouldn't have enough for years to come.

At the academy i distanced myself from Sasuke once again, i was always a social person in my old life, i didn't go out of my way to make friends or anything but when i was invited out for a drink or someone would strike up a conversation i would happily oblige. So in the academy whenever Sakura and Ino would come up to me i would talk to them, we became friends pretty fast, though they still fought like cats and dogs because of the crush they had on me. I found it funny to be honest.

I would play shogi with Shikamaru often enough to get to know him, i would cloud watch with him sometimes and choji was alright too. Kiba was always at my throat because the girls loved me and i always kicked his ass in training. Shino never spoke to me and neither did Hinata, Naruto was the same as i remembered from the show, apparently me being in the place of Sasuke didn't change him much.

On graduation day things played out the same as normal, i passed with ease, Naruto failed and went on to steal the scroll, learn the shadow clone jutsu and become a genin.

It was just before we as a team met Kakashi for the first time that i realised how i could succeed at taking over the world. I had just finished talking to Sakura about something that didn't matter.

I went through how i would take over in my head a few times before something clicked. I suddenly knew how my eyes worked, almost as if i had always known. I knew that my left eye had a strange ability, one that would make things very simple in a lot of ways and more difficult in others.

After making eye contact with the target an almost tribal tattoo would appear on the lower abdomen that wraps all the way around to the back. It was similar to Kotoamatsukami… in theory. It made it so the target would do anything i wanted as long as i said it to them, it also altered their mind so they believed it was their choice. However unlike Shisui my ability wasn't limited to once in ten years, only once a day. But the marks that appeared on my targets were permanent unless i removed them, though that wasn't all, there were three levels to this ability. Level one is verbal commands, with level two another tattoo like mark appears around the neck and it allows me to use mental commands, with level three another mark appears on the forehead, it essentially makes the target an empty slave to my will, i never intended to use that level though. Last but not least… It only worked on women, I named this power after one of my favorite abilities in anime history, Kyoka Suigetsu. as for my other eye it was more combat orientated but more on that another time.

It was on the roof that i noticed things change a little, Naruto gave the same speech but Sakura didn't.

"I want to be the greatest Kunoichi in history... " she left the part about wanting to marry me unsaid but i knew what she wanted. She had taken my comment about liking strength literally, so she had started saying she wanted to be the strongest. I didn't mind, women never looked at me twice in my old life… well most women didn't.

When it came time for me to talk i chose to be vague, i didn't want people to keep an eye on me which they would do if they knew my real goal. "I like too many things to bother listing, same with dislike. I have one hobby, and my dream is… well i'll tell you some other time."

I could see the gears in Kakashi's head turning, he was analysing every word i said. After he told us about the training ground and what time to show up he left us there. I left right after without a word to Sakura or Naruto.

It was the morning of the bell test and i treated myself to a big breakfast, despite Kakashi's advice. I also took my time in getting ready, gathering up all my tools and sealing them in a scroll. I was about two hours late by this point, i wasn't worried since i knew that Kakashi was going to be late himself. So having prepared for the day ahead i set out for the training grounds.

"Elios you're so late! What have you been doing?" Sakura asked me as i strolled into the area as if i didn't have a care in the world, i smirked before i responded.

"Sleeping in, eating and getting ready for today." Before Sakura could even speak, Naruto chimed in.

"But Kakashi told us not to eat!" I smirked again as i lent against the wooden post, his yelling was kind of annoying.

"He did, but since i figured he would be late again i decided to ignore him." Naruto and Sakura looked shocked at my casual disobedience.

"You can't just ignore sensei's orders." Sakura said carefully, trying not to seem so bothered.

"Well i can, i just shouldn't." Both of them couldn't find a response to that and just went back to waiting, though they kept sneaking glances at me as we waited.

Kakashi appeared not too long after i arrived, he used his lame ass excuses just like i knew he would, though he seemed to watch me more closely than i remembered. As usual the test started and just like Sasuke i took to the trees but unlike my canon counterpart i activated my sharingan to watch the fight. I did this so i could get a feel for Kakashi's speed.

After Naruto was tied upside down to a tree, like the idiot he was, i made my move. I made a set of hand signs "fire style: fireball jutsu!" i launched a small fireball at Kakashi who dodged by leaping back, as he landed he had to dodge yet again as i fired off another small ball of flames at him. While he was in the air i threw a kunai at the rope holding Naruto up, cutting him free. "Naruto on me!" i said to him while crossing my fingers in a familuare form.

Naruto grinned and followed suit. "Yeah!" He made a dozen clones while i made only one, his clones charged into battle while mine was getting ready to attack. Naruto and his clones didn't last very long against Kakashi but they provided an opening, which is all i needed.

My clone jumped into the air above everyone and fired a dragon flame jutsu, pushing the clone far into the sky with the force of the attack. I got Naruto out of the area just in time, but before the smoke even cleared Kakashi's hands grabbed our feet from below the ground, which i was expecting. We were pulled into the earth by Kakashi who then stood over us looking a little surprised.

My clone that was now falling wound up a powerful kick aimed at the grey head of my sensei, he managed to block the attack by crossing his arms, the kick cracked the ground from the force, my clone then grabbed his arms in the hopes of keeping him still.

Another clone, which was created by the first one, threw a dozen shuriken with wire attached, they wrapped around the grey haired man and were pulled tight, popping the clone holding onto Kakashi. However the man who was now trapped was a clone himself who popped right after he was immobilized. I felt my other clone pop and knew it didn't work, but it was a good plan.

Kakashi was now standing over us again with an impressed expression.

Unlike in the original Naruto wasn't tied to a post when the bell test was over, we also passed since we worked together. Though Kakashi took note that we didn't work with Sakura but was otherwise satisfied with our performance. We decided to have lunch together, to celebrate.

The lunch went on for way longer than i expected, we all had a great time. I covered the bill since i had plenty of money, though i couldn't believe how much food Naruto could shove down his throat. I was in the process of walking Sakura home, i was going to test something and needed to be sure no one was watching, especially Kakashi. But i was pretty confident no one was following us.

It was time to test if i had enough chakra to use my left eye, if i didn't i could just use a normal genjutsu to make Sakura forget.

"Sakura stop for a second." She stopped and turned to me.

"Yeah what is it? Why are your eyes closed?" She asked while stepping towards me.

"Well i want to show you something." i said cryptically, i opened my left eye and felt a small trail of blood leak out of it. "Kyoka Suigetsu!" i saw her eyes widen for a second then they closed, my left eye went blind which was a side effect of using it, i would be able to see tomorrow. My chakra dropped to almost zero, i felt exhausted.

"Elios? Weren't you going to show me something?" Sakura asked, she didn't remember what just happened, another side effect though this one wasn't unwelcome.

"Sorry i meant to say ask you something."

"Oh, well what did you want to ask?" I smirked before i responded.

"I want to know if you would do anything i tell you?" I could almost feel the tattoo on her abdomen blaze to life, affecting her mind.

"Of course." She said smiling brightly like it was the most obvious question in the world. I couldn't help the small giggle that came from me, it worked!
