![]() Author has written 3 stories for Familiar of Zero, Sword Art Online/ソードアート・オンライン, and Star Citizen. Hey there, all you strangers. Currently, I'm reading/watching about twice as much as I'm writing. I like performance cars, swords and other mêlée weapons, Star Citizen, reading stories, writing stories, roleplaying games, firearms, drawing/sketching things and computers. With no particular order to that list. Oh—and music. I really like music. I've listened to a lot of production music [mostly trailer/soundtrack music] and all manner of EDM subgenres recently (from drum & bass to glitch hop to progressive house), but I don't thoroughly dislike any genres. I believe I listen to folk the least, though. I don't have favourite series of literary works, per se. I like creators, usually because they write more than one series. Trying to list them all would be a little too much, but there's doubtless a lot. On a side note, I write dates as YYYY.MM.DD [the full reverse of most Australians]. If you want to use weapons in combat scenes realistically, research is invaluable. For swords, I'd recommend what others such as Agent94 have gathered, as well as several essays on The ARMA's site available on Mediaeval and Renaissance martial arts and Peter Johnsson's Paradoxes of Sword Design lecture [under an hour at 1.5x]. Oh, and I can't forget this neat piece on the geometric nature of historical swords [watch The Sword: Form And Thought at double-speed if you want]. Lastly, I'll reinforce that all of Matt Easton's videos are very useful for information on the use of a variety of weapons, primarily (but far from limited to) curved swords such as Imperial British sabres [sparring videos included]. [2018.03.15] Been a long time since I was last around. Things have happened, as they tend to do. I have more time to write nowadays, but that's not entirely focused on fanfiction. Combining that with how long it's been since I last saw this website – more than long enough to lose old documents, and long enough to lose interest in old works – the things I have on here are now classified and prefaced as dead fics. There'll be more, eventually, but I know that don't write consistently enough to serialise a story, not yet. Maybe a one-shot, or a shorter story published all at once. But no more overly ambitious and thoroughly tedious works for now. We'll see what comes out of this year. [2020.02.01] Ouch, time really flies, doesn't it? I don't even know if I can write the same sort of fics I was working on before. I even stopped reading fics for a while, couldn't get through any. But now I'm back in the writing groove, it seems, so I'll see what comes out of this. No promises that the old titles sitting here currently will come back in ways people expect, but I also won't put out anything I'm unhappy with. Also, what? People are still reading UBV? Dang. | |||||||
