Shinji Ikari walks around the empty streets of Tokyo-3, reading his newly release manga. He closes it and pulls out a picture from his duffel bag of a beautiful woman in a bikini and was told to find her. But now he doesn't know what to do. A message on the intercom said to go to the shelters so he wonders if he should go there or keep searching for her?
"Mother, where are you?" He stops himself once he hears what sounds like a child. He sounds sad which makes Shinji concerned as he puts his manga and picture back in his bag.
"Kid are you alright?" Shinji shouts, hoping that he can hear him. He looks around but can't find him.
"I can't find my mommy. Daddy wants her back." The voice of the child speaks and then he hears crying. "The bad people took her."
"That's terrible." Shinji said with tears dripping down. The idea of a mother being kidnapped fills him with sadness. He lost his mother when he was young and the thought of her being alive but captured hurts. "Please come to me. I'll help you find your mother."
But he hears silence, no voice around him and he gets worried. Suddenly he hears rumble and sees a monster a couple of blocks away. It is hitting skyscrapers, smashing windows and concrete. But then it stopped. It looks around and Shinji can swear he hears what sounds like crying coming from it even far away.
A car flew out of nowhere and stopped in front of the teenager. The door opens to reveal Misato Katsuragi, the woman he was looking for. "GET IN!" She orders but he keeps looking around. "KID WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
"A child is nearby! I don't want him to get hurt!" Shinji replies but she grabs him and pulls him into the car.
"Sorry kid but that Angel is getting closer." She apologizes and closes the door. The car drives away as Shinji looks out the window and it looks like the creature was staring at him. He looks at her enraged.
"Why did you kidnap me? There was a child there!"
"Hey sorry about that Shinji but Third Angel was getting too close for comfort and what do you mean by child? I didn't see no one."
This makes Shinji confused. "But I heard him crying, saying that someone took his mother."
Captain Katsuragi tries to reassure him. "He will be safe. The child will no doubt head to the shelter."
But the teenager doesn't agree with her but stops himself once he sees a gun strap to her hip. He looks up to see Third Angel jump in the air and land in front of the car. Misato tries to stop the car but it grabs the vehicle and lifts it to it's eye level. Both of the humans in the car freak out once the angel grabs the roof and ripped it off.
"Shit! Shit!" Misato is scared shitless but Shinji stops once he hears the voice again.
"Will you help me find mommy?"
The teenager looks at the angel with his eyes widened and gets up from his seat. "Is that you kid?"
"What are you doing Shinji?!" The Captain shouts at him but he ignores her.
"My name is Sachiel and she is one of the bad people that took mommy."
"You kidnap a mother?!" The teenager interrogates Misato, who is confused by this question. "What are you talking about?! We are being held by a fucking monster!"
She pulls out her gun and aims at the angel. But Shinji doesn't see a monster, but a child wanting to reunite with his mother. He grabs her arms and fights over the pistol.
"Let go, Shinji!"
"No I will not!"
*BANG*
Shinji shakingly holds the gun as Misato falls on her seat, holding her side that has been shot. "W-why Shinji..?"
"A son protects his mother, the one that gives birth to them no matter what. I will not let you or father stop this kid from saving his mother." He explains as Sachiel holds out his other hand. The teenager jumps and lands on his palm. Captain Katsuragi dives under his seat to grab her second gun. But the Angel lets go of the car. She looks down to see the ground getting closer but she closes her eyes, accepting her fate.
*SPLAT*
At the NERV base, Gendo Ikari is looking at the screen of the Third Angel's rampage. But he is getting annoyed about a certain agent and child. "Where is Captain Katsuragi and the Third Child? They should've been here ten minutes ago."
"Sir, we are looking for the car." Maya Ibuki said as she and the others were looking at the monitors. Makoto Hyuga looks and sees a crashed car upside down. His eyes widen once he sees blood dripping from the bottom. "Is that her car? Oh my god. Doctor, you may want to see this."
Ritsuko Akagi walks to his computer and sees the car. She begins to tear up once she realize her best friend's fate. But she can't grieve once she feels the HQ shaking.
The building is rumbling as Sachiel is just outside the base. Shigeru Aoba is scared shitless as he looks at the Third Angel but sees something odd. "Commander Ikari! There is something on the angel's shoulder!"
Doctor Akagi looks at the monitor and sees a child on the angel's shoulder. "Is that..."
Sachiel punches the HQ, making many freak out except Gendo who knows what must be done. "Get First Child now."
The doctor nods and orders the guards to go get her and now. "What are you going to do sir? That appears to be your son on the angel's shoulder."
"Then he will die." Is all he says as Rei is being dragged to Evangelion Unit-01 but her injuries are making it hard for her to move. The HQ's walls are being bombarded by the monster's fists. "Drive the Unit-01 now Rei! Ritsuko begins to launch!"
"Roger!" Dr Akagi shouts as Rei is about to close the door and activate Evangelion but then a giant fist appears and hits the mech, knocking it over and Rei falling out of it. "Everyone run!"
The Mech is knocked over, crushing some unlucky guards and technicians. Rei Ayanami tries to stand but her injuries are too grave. Shinji lands beside her and looks around. He looks at his pistol and then the girl that appears to be around her age. "Now child soldiers? Damn you father, what kind of monster are you?!"
The Third Angel enters the base and keeps hitting the walls. Shinji yells at his new friend. "Sachiel! Bring this place to the ground!"
It slams its hand to the ground to block bullets that were about to hit Shinji.
"Keep firing! We can't let them into the basement!" Dr Akagi orders two guards as they keep trying to kill him. The angel drags his hand and crashes into her and her guards into the wall. Shinji watches his friend create a crater to walk deeper into the base. He grabs a rifle from a down soldier and aims it at the bluenette. Her legs are trapped under the mech which makes the son of Gendo feel sad. "I'm sorry, I will put you out of your misery. I just wish we meet differently."
*BANG*
Sachiel smashes the facility with Shinji behind him. Suddenly the speaker comes alive to reveal his father talking with disgust in his voice. "To all NERV soldiers, Shinji Ikari is a traitor to mankind and is helping Third Angel! Shoot to kill!"
"There he is!" An agent sees the traitor and fires at him. Shinji held his head in fear but Sachiel hit the soldiers. He then feels the presence he has been looking for. "Mother!"
The angel punches the floor, breaking it and Shinji jumps and holds on to Sachiel as they both fall. They land together and see a giant corpse nail to a cross. "So that's her."
"Mother..." The Third Angel looks upon her and it sounds like it's crying with happiness. Shinji smiles that his friend's mother is safe. Until he feels a massive pain on his chest and falls to the ground. Gendo Ikari reveals himself from behind Lilith.
"You damn mistake! Do you know what you have done?! Years of planning, the chance to revive Yui is all ruined BECAUSE OF YOU!" The NERV commander shouts with rage and insanity. He was supposed to use the children to kill the Angels but they haven't even taken out the Third Angel.
"I dont't know what you are talking about but I must stop you. You are a criminal that kidnaps and hurts people. Nothing but scum." The son insults his father who is pissed at his reason for ruining NERV.
"Criminal?! I am trying to revive my wife! The one that made a mistake in birthing you!" He insults his own son and aims his gun but Sachiel grabs him and holds him. "What are you doing freak!? Let me go!"
The angel throws him and he slams into the wall breaking most of his bones from the impact and the rest once he falls. "No one talks that way to my friend."
Shinji breathes in and out, feeling his vision fade. He hears the words of his father and can't help but wonder if it is true. "A mistake? Am I really..?"
"Don't listen to him." Sachiel interrupts his self-hating mood and grabs him. He hugs him, giving him love that he hasn't felt growing up. "You reunited me with my mommy and stop a group that wanted to hunt us. Come, let me introduce you to her."
He carry his mother's savior and walks to her to hug her. Their bodies sink into her body and she awakens from her slumber. Her body begins to grow and explode, creating an ever expanding blast. Gendo, with his broken body, can only shout in rage as he is enveloped in the explosion.
"Mein Gott, what the hell is happening?!" A redheaded teenage girl shouts for someone to answer as she and others are looking at the TV and see the news of the Third Angel just entering NERV. She can't believe that this is happening. Asuka Langley Soryu is supposed to be the one to take down the Angels and be the celebrity prodigy she sees herself. But now that future seems unlikely now that Sachiel may have ended the Angel Wars in a single battle. She and Ryoji Kaji can only watch in shock as an explosion comes out of NERV destroying everything on site then the news helicopter, creating static. Asuka can only mutter to herself, in denial of the situation. "No no no no. I am dreaming. I have to be. I'll wake up to a call that orders me to Tokyo and kill the Angels. I'll be the best pilot in the damn world!"
While the Second Child is having a breakdown, Ryoji Kaji walks away and makes it to ledge of their building with his suitcase. He throws it over the building and takes out a cigarette and lits it. He blows out smoke and thinks of his love. "Misato... Maybe we'll see eachother on the other side." He sees the explosion getting closer and just close his eyes, accepting his fate like the one he loves.
"How did this happen?!" HISS
"Damn Ikari fail!" HISS
"The dead sea scrolls didn't show this outcome!" HISS
Keel Lorenz has his hands over his face. SEELE has failed, the Third Impact has started and now the Human Instrumentality Program is in ruins. He can do nothing but curse Gendo Ikari's failure as the ground rumbles.
The Earth succumbed to the explosion. The world becomes a desolate wasteland, no humans or animals or plants. Two beings look around the land and then each other. The woman cries once she sees him. "Adam?"
"Lilith." The man hugs his wife when she returns, happy that they have reunited. They look from a ledge and see the lifeless world. "So humanity failed."
"Yes Sachiel was the one to rescue me along with another." Lilith said as Sachiel appears before his parents, holding the body of Shinji.
"Mother. Father. Please save him." The Angel of Water begs his parents while he holds the human. "He was willing to help me save mother."
"Son, a human cannot be revived. Though I am thankful for his actions, he cannot come back." Adam let down his child but he shakes his head, refusing to let his friend die.
"Please! I'll gladly sacrifice myself to give him life again. Let him take my place." He begs which shocks Lilith. There is a difference between recreating humanity and reviving a single human. Both her and her husband can revive a human but there must be a sacrifice and then that human must replace the angel.
"You do know what you are asking for Sachiel?" Lilith warns her child. "This human will live again but he must do your job as Angel of Water. He will lead the life of an angel, destruction and death is all he will know."
If Sachiel had eyes, he would have tears. He wants to help his friend and give him his life back but to do so will require Shinji to lgo through his life where battle is all he knows. "Do it. I believe in him. I know he will succeed where I have failed."
The progenitors nod and accept his answer. They clasp their hands together and Sachiel begins to disappear. He looks at his friend one last time as he fades. Shinji stirs as he feels life coming back to him and opens his eyes to his new life and the next incarnation of humanity.
Constantine jumps to the portal of his creation and lands in his House of Mystery. He quickly closes it but he can hear the demons he scam that they will find and torture him. "Yeah yeah come back once you find more original threats."
He walks away and heads to the bar to fetch himself a pint or two. Though he stops once he sees someone sitting at a bar stool, reading what looks like a comic book with the title None Piece on it. He appears to be a Japanese teenager with brown hair, wearing what appears to be a plug suit with the top white and bottom blue. "Oi Orchid, who's this bloke?"
"An angel sent for a test." The spirit of the house appears out of nowhere to the shock and annoyance of John. Black Orchid wanted to know what it means to be human so she took the form of a nude woman with purple skin.
"Jesus Christ! Stop appearing out of nowhere! So what, has God come to smite me? Trust me, you'll fail like the others. So how about you take your arse and comic and get the hell out of here."
"I'm not from that pantheon." He comments and gets up from the stool. "My name is Sachiel and I was sent by my parents to test humanity. Trust me, you'll need a team to stop these threats." The second Angel of Water holds up his book and stretches his arm so it hits John's face. "By the way, this is a manga not a comic Constantine."
Author's Note- So I'm going to explain as best I can for plot holes. The story started when I had a funny thought: Shinji thinks his father is a super villain. It's not like he knows that much about him and NERV is not exactly the good guys. Plus being 14 gives him a vivid imagination. As for why he helps Sachiel, he sympathises with people that lost their mother.
