Mind over Matter

Chapter 2

-Nezu-

"Hello everybody!" Nezu cheerfully greeted his faculty as they entered the staff room, the regular Hero Entrance exams finally finished so now it was time to decide who would be in which Heroics class, "Are you all ready?"

"Hnnnnnnn." Aizawa grumbled, the man burrowed in his yellow sleeping bag even while curled up in his chair. How someone can be as insistent on students being logical and adult like while constantly whining, grumbling, and complaining like a child whilst sipping on juice packs always baffled him.

"To start with, I wish to inform you that I've finally convinced the Board of Directors to allow me to increase the size of the Hero courses." Nezu preened, it upset his OCD that the Hero Course had two classes while all the others had three "It's only two extra students this year but I have permission to keep increasing it every few years and if there are no issues, I can eventually add a third hero class." Aizawa sunk deeper into his bag.

"Well first off, do you have any hard declarations for the classes?" Ectoplasm worked to get the meeting back on track, the staff knowing that Nezu had the right to make declarations on who went into what class but usually listened to suggestions from his staff.

"Yes, first off we shall have the Recommendation Students of Midoriya and Tokage in the same class along with Kamakiri, Shiozaki, and Asui." Nezu declared as the faculty blinked in confusion, pulling up the files to try and see why.

"May I ask…" Cementoss trailed off before Midnight and Present Mic's eyes lit up.

"Because Green Hair Forever!" the two energetic teachers shouted happily.

"Indeed!" Nezu beamed, ignoring the loud thunk as Aizawa's head met the table, "Meaning the other class will get the recommendation students of Honenuki and Yoarashi."

"So which group goes to what class?" Cementoss asked, the fact that Aizawa and Kan always taught the first years not being argued.

"Our green haired guppies go to Aizawa." Nezu smiled at the man who was still being punished after the 'entire class expulsion' stunt from last year. He'd approved of the temporary false expulsions to scare students, not actually kicking students out long enough to show on their permanent records, or him lazily skipping out on actually teaching so he'd lost a lot of his 'teach as you would' privilege. Kan just seemed happy that he was getting the recommendation student whose quirk has the most direct combat applicability in Yoarashi's wind quirk.

"There were a couple other recommendation students who failed the recommendation exam but made it through the regular test." Hound Dog grunted, "Yayorozu and Todoroki, right?"

"Indeed." Nezu managed to hide his expression of distaste at the response those two not passing the first test got. Endeavor had been quite upset at first, not to mention young Todoroki. Then there was the fact that upon being told that he failed due to the proctors feeling him refusing to use half of his quirk was a poor mindset for a Hero, Endeavor had seemed smug and young Todoroki had seemed even angrier. If the practical exam, where he'd wrecked a mock battle city area with a giant glacier which also blocked the other testers from entering, then it was pretty clear he hadn't gotten over himself. Miss Yayorozu on the other hand seemed to be developing confidence issues after learning that she failed to pass the recommendation exam due to her poor ability to either think on her feet or have creations pre-made with uses planned out.

"I'd recommend they join Aizawa's course as well." Present Mic thought aloud "The Todoroki kid relies entirely on one half of his quirk so someone who can shut it off and try to force him to listen might be of use. Yayorozu on the other hand would probably benefit from Midoriya as a classmate. The kid's quirk, along with being in the other courses too, shows he's going to have a lot of focus on the fields the girl needs to improve in." and so the debating continued. Why one student would benefit more from one teacher or a certain classmate over those from the sister class.

Eventually the classes were finished with Class A having the students of Midoriya, Tokage, Kamakiri, Shiozaki, Asui, Shinso, Yayorozu, Todoroki, Iida, Bakugo, Jiro, Kaminari, Tsunotori, Ashido, Kirishima, Aoyama, Hagakure, Tokoyami, Ururaka, Sero, and Mineta.

Class B was made up of Yoarashi, Honenuki, Kendo, Ojiro, Koda, Sato, Shoji, Awase, Kaibara, Kuroiro, Kodai, Komori, Shishida, Shoda, Tsubaraba, Tetsutetsu, Fukidashi, Bondo, Monoma, Yanagi, and Rin.

"Well everyone," Nezu clapped his hands excitedly "that was fun but now I'm off." Pushing a button, a panel on the desk slid open as his favorite new toy was revealed.

"Is…is that a hoverbike?" Kan gaped at the sight of the shiny Nezu sized vehicle.

"Indeed!" Nezu squeaked as he got on, putting on his new helmet and biker's jacket he'd gotten for himself after acquiring the hoverbike "Midoriya made it for his recommended Support Course Exam. Now Nezu, AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

-All Might-

"Uncle Might, I'm home!" All Might found himself smiling as the door open, his beloved niece Melissa walking inside with a bagful of groceries from the shop on their street.

"Hello Melissa!" All Might smiled as best he could, even in his tired and weakened state, "Getting used to the area?"

"Of course." the brilliant young woman smiled "I have to if I'm going to be going to UA soon."

"Atta girl!" All Might laughed, puffing up for a moment before Melissa jabbed him in the gut with a stick, making him deflate.

"No wasting your time Uncle Might!" the girl gave him a steely look that made him gulp, the memory of her terrifying rant that she had put him and her father through upon learning of his condition during his last visit to I-Island.

"Right, right, sorry!" he gave a sheepish laugh, "Anyway, I was thinking of setting something up so you can meet some of your future school mates before the year starts." He had his successor at UA, there was that boy who Nezu had recruited to attend UA, and they could perhaps bring some friends of their own.

"That sounds great Uncle Might!" Melissa perked up, looking excited at the chance of having friends. There had never been many children her own age back on I-Island and now that she was here, both to help make gear for his successor to adapt to One for All as well as her self-proclaimed duty of taking care of him, she knew nobody outside of himself.

"I'll work on setting it up then." All Might laughed, puffing up once more before feeling Melissa's ominous aura.

-Omake-

-Mirko-

"Aaaaaah, that was fun." The Rabbit Hero smirked as she saw the bruised and busted up perverted hacker getting loaded into a police car while some more technologically gifted Detective heroes kept going through the man's house to see if there were more crimes that the green haired computer kid hadn't been able to detect.

"Agreed." Ryukyu smirked, the Dragon Hero having taken great pleasure in avenging the honor of her intern.

"Can't wait for that kid to start doing work studies and internships." Mirko cackled as her fellow heroines all gave her baffled expressions.

"But…you work alone." Ragdoll voiced the groups perplexion.

"That kid's voice is a super-computer." Mirko was near drooling as she voiced her thoughts, beautiful visions dancing in her mind "Just think about how quickly he could get all my paperwork finished!" the other heroines were silent for all of three seconds before the building was full of arguments on who the high-tech Green Bean would be working for.
