At the same time the clothes she was wearing were starting to change from a modern t-shirt and blue jeans to more traditional Nordic style clothing. It was at this moment that Hiccup realized who this young girl was. He decided to sit back and see what his eldest daughter Valka would do. Rebecca on the other hand was now a little scared and to her Valka was a ghost and the fact that she had a conscious mind made it all the more creepy.
How?
Rebecca asked and Valka turned to her and tilted her head at the question.
What do you mean?
Valka asked as Rebecca gestured at Valka's clothes and began to babble like a complete idiot. Finally she composed herself and asked about the clothes. Valka looked toward the stars as her face showed signs of contentment.
I'm sure that I am over a thousand years old, but my family has been watching over our clan to see if one of them would bring about the return of the dragons.
Valka said and by now Hiccup knew that this was an important vision. From what Valka was telling Rebecca she could deduce that the dragons had all but disappeared and it was up to the Haddock clan to bring them back to the forefront. He wanted to step in and begin to introduce himself but he saw that his daughter had everything well in hand. Valka knew that Rebecca had no idea what was going on. He knew that she hadn't met him yet but he would have to wait for the right moment to show himself. Meanwhile Rebecca was looking around to make sure that no one else was around as she pulled out an old book. Valka smiled and sat down next to Rebecca as she looked over her shoulder.
I see you already have the Book of Dragons. That book can only be held and read by any Haddon family, where did you find it Rebecca? And can you read it at all?
Valka said and Rebecca looked over at her and slowly nodded her head.
I got it at a thrift store down in Pacific. Actually for some reason I can and it makes sense and I don't know why these symbols look so familiar to me.
Rebecca replied and it was then that Valka began to look into Rebecca's eyes and start to tell her that she was a part of something that she couldn't even begin to imagine. Hiccup could see that what Valka was saying was getting to Rebecca. She was a smart girl and she easily understood what she had to do. He was just a little worried about how she was going to go about doing this. Finally he saw that Valka had finished explaining what Rebecca was going to have to do big at some point and was now starting to disappear. As soon as Valka completely faded away another person started to walk up with a bunch of firewood. Hiccup decided to wait and see who this guy was.
Hey Jason…
Rebecca said as the twin man put down the firewood. He then looked over Rebecca's shoulder to see what she was reading about and rolled his eyes.
Again with this old book, huh.
Jason said as Rebecca then looked up from the Book of Dragons and turned to her older twin brother. As she did so she started to hear distant thumping as if something big was coming her way. Hiccup could also hear the thumping sound and turned to look behind him. What he saw did not surprise him. It was the white Night Fury that had been shot out of the sky walking towards the camp. It stopped just short of the clearing that the camp was in and looked at Hiccup. Hiccup was unsure if the white Night Fury could see him or not. The question was soon answered when the white Night Fury gave a curious coo.
Can you see me too?
Hiccup asked as the white Night Fury's expression changed quickly to one of complete and utter excitement. It started to hop around where Hiccup was standing. Every time the white Night Fury hit the ground there would be an audible crash. It quickly got the attention of Rebecca and Jason as they were less than a hundred and twenty feet from the Night fury.
Do you hear that?
Rebecca asked as Jason nodded and pulled out a gleaming .44 magnum pistol. The white Night Fury caught sight of the weapon and tried to fly away. It started to cry out in fear loud enough for Rebecca and Jason to hear the white Night fury clearly.
Wait!
Rebecca cried out and Jason stopped short of actually getting a glimpse of the white Night Fury and turned around. He was confused on why his sister had stopped him before he could have a chance of seeing what was making that noise.
What's wrong?
Jason asked Rebecca and then cautiously approached the area were the crashing sound was coming from and at the same time Hiccup pressured the white Night fury to slowly walk out into the open.
It'll be alright, she won't hurt you.
Hiccup said and this statement seemed to convince the white Night Fury that Rebecca and Jason had no intention of harming it. This coupled with the fact that it looked like that Rebecca and Jason was a little worried about whatever was making the crashing sounds. As Rebecca got closer to the edge of the clearing she could see the white Night Fury's eyes looking right at her. It actually spooked her as she could tell that whatever was out there was huge. When she saw that it was starting to move toward her she immediately started to back up. Once the white Night Fury was out in the open both Rebecca and Jason became very defensive. Jason pointed his .44 magnum at the dragon while Rebecca kept her distance from the dragon. Of course the White Night Fury was a little defensive as well since Jason was pointing a type of weapon at it. Then Rebecca saw the damage to the right wing and realized that this creature had already been through a lot.
Jason Wait! Don't hurt her.
Rebecca said and Jason looked over to his sister and just looked at her like she was crazy. He kept the gun trained on the dragon and kept a close eye on it.
Look… Whatever this thing is it's dangerous.
Jason said and Rebecca looked into the white Night Fury's eyes and saw that its wing was still causing some pain.
It's already injured, the right wing has been torn up.
Rebecca said and Jason looked over to the right wing and saw that it had been shot with a 12 gauge shotgun. The wound was still fairly fresh and was very dirty from what looked like a crash landing. He could tell that it was going to get infected unless they treated the wing somehow. He looked at the white Night Fury's face and saw that even if it wanted to fight it was too weak. Though the expression on its face was still very cautious of him. Even as he put his weapon down the white Night Fury still didn't quite trust him enough. Jason looked at Rebecca and began to sigh.
It looks like we'll have to get this thing back home so we can disinfect that wing.
Jason said and Rebecca looked over to the white Night fury and smiled.
I'll have to go back home and get the trailer so we can get it out of here.
Jason said as Rebecca nodded and allowed her brother to leave the camp in his truck. As soon as he was out of sight Hiccup felt like it was time to make his appearance. He slowly walked out of his hiding spot and within Rebecca's line of sight. As soon as Rebecca saw him in his Viking attire she quickly stood up.
Another one?
Rebecca said and Hiccup chuckled and looked over to the white Night Fury. He then ran his hand up the dragon's neck and began to scratch under its chin.
She's definitely something.
Hiccup said as Rebecca nodded and sat back down in front of the fire. She was closely examining Hiccup just so she could know how to react if something were to happen. But when she saw his prosthetic left foot she knew he was no threat. Hiccup walked up to the campfire and sat down next to her. He then looked at her and saw that she was about his age.
So who are you?
Rebecca asked and Hiccup cleared his throat and began to explain who he was.
My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.
Hiccup began and Rebecca snorted in laughter as Hiccup's name was uncommon in her current time. Hiccup got a little upset by this.
Hey where I come from it's common to call the runt Hiccup.
Hiccup said as Rebecca looked at him closely and smiled.
You are not a runt. If anything, you are perfectly normal.
Rebecca said and Hiccup looked at her and he was about to tell her she was wrong until he notice that she was just about as tall as Astrid and looked like she weighed about the same. He knew that Astrid wasn't a "hiccup" and figured she would bulk up later on but he began to realize that he and Astrid were the same size. While he was scanning Rebecca there was some movement in the forest. It snapped both Hiccup and Rebecca back to reality and they both stood up to face whoever was coming toward them. Then to Hiccup's relief he heard a familiar voice.
Hiccup! Is that you?
The voice said as Hiccup and Rebecca stood there.
