"Do you think MAJC will ever be on par with the other teams like RWBY, JNPR, JINX, CFVY, SSSN, ATMC… just to name a few? I mean… we don't have semblances, we don't have aura…"

"Well, we did team up with JINX earlier. Not to mention we helped Team RWBY find their team leader in the Galar Region… not to mention we helped out Weiss and Blake in the Crown Tundra, so it's not all bad. And let's not forget Delfino."

"Good point. It would help to be more recognized though. Just… not with the unwanted attention like what happened in Diamond City."

"Yeah… although, it's funny. Before Nyx gave us a call, I was about to announce that I've heard rumors over a mysterious cave in a place called Dreamland… a place filled with treasure and wonder."

"Dreamland, huh? Isn't that where JINX went off to with CFVY?"

"Yeah. I'm not sure what the cave is called though… I've heard it was a great cave. Can't remember that last bit though."

"Well, looks like we know what we're doing."

"Yeah, and you know what? To hell with semblances and aura. We can prove to everyone we don't need a magic shield to protect us from harm or any of those fancy superpowers that everyone has. All we have is our wits… and by golly, that's enough for me. After all, we're an unofficial team… and yet, as cheesy as this sounds, it's official to me."

"Yeah, we'll show everyone that you don't need those things to get the job done. So… a great cave in Dreamland… all of us ragtag group of misfits exploring this wondrous cave. Sounds like fun."

"Yeah, it sure will be."

"And we'll make the most out of it… my criminal."

Jen took a deep breath, smiling at that day she and Anthony had that moment. She looked out of the cave, seeing nothing but blue sky. Another sandstorm had passed and she was still stuck in Mona's cave, though she was on the lookout. Anthony and Camrin had wandered outside to hunt for some food while the others were hanging around in the cave.

"They'll be back." Chloe said. "They always do."

"Yeah, I know… I just hope no one has found them."

"They'll be fine." Chloe reassured.

"Yeah, those two are great at stealth." Mona said, munching on a chip. "It's all good." She said, glancing over at Zoey who was looking rather worried while looking through her scroll. "Something wrong. Zoey?"

"Mmm… it's what that Eggman guy did." Zoey said. "It's just… I can't help but worry."

"Eh… it's all just a bunch of hot air." Mona said, waving it off. "I'm not worried one bit. Though that sword relic interests me… I wonder if it's shiny."

"It's your family, isn't it?" Chloe asked. "They live in Atlas."

"Yeah." Zoey nodded. "Ruby might have calmed people down over Salem… but…. I can't help but worry some people didn't listen." She said. "Not to mention… what happened in Toad Town a few days later."

"What is it?" Jen asked.

"There's this blue substance that started showing up and has been poisoning anyone who touches it… and is corrupting them. Grimm are getting infected, these shadow creatures called the Heartless…" She showed the photos on her scroll. "Some people call it… Phazon but I'm not sure what it's called. What makes things worse is that the infected Grimm are making it to Beacon Academy and are quickly spreading this blue substance over Vale."

"Oh my…" Chloe whispered.

"And… it just worries me. What if it spreads to the other areas… like Atlas?"

"Oh come on, Atlas has a barrier around it." Mona pointed out. "Sure, Mantle is screwed but Atlas will be fine."

"But what if a soldier got infected in Mantle and made his way to Atlas?" Zoey pointed out.

"…Oh."

Zoey clutched her scroll tightly. "I'm worried… I… I need to step out for a bit." She said and walked out of the cave. A few minutes later, Camrin and Anthony came back.

"We're back!" Camrin said.

"And we got some treasure too." Anthony said, dropping a few rabbits and snakes.

"Aww… rabbits…" Chloe pouted.

Outside, Zoey was leaning on a cliff wall, taking a deep breath and put her head back, closing her eyes. She was deeply worried about her family in Atlas. She knew how civilians react to certain things and she knew damn well that Eggman caused quite a stir. Then there was the whole Phazon thing that's making headlines and there's no doubt in her mind that's going to cause even more of a stir, especially if the Grimm are infected.

She knew her family was calm under situations like this… but everyone else was not like her family. They could be caught in a massive riot or a Grimm attack in case if the barrier somehow fell.

She had to do something… she quickly started calling her family. "Come on… pick up… pick up…" She said.

"Hello?"

Oh thank the gods… Zoey thought. "Hey, it's me. Listen… I need you guys to do something for me. It'll help put my mind at ease."

"What is it, hon?"

"I need you guys to get out of Atlas. Now. With everything that's been going on, I-"

"Honey, breathe. We'll be okay. We were actually planning on leaving for a while until the chaos dies down."

Zoey sighed with relief. "Okay, good... I know there's the crater underneath Mantle, but I don't think that's a good option."

"What do you suggest?"

Zoey closed her eyes, trying to think of a good spot for them to lay low for a while. "...Sarasaland. I've heard they've got a terrific princess there and she'll gladly find a place for you to take shelter for a while." She said, not knowing that Daisy is up in space."I'll send you the coordinates."

"Got it!"

"Call me when you get there... Oh, and mom? Tell dad I said hi."

"Will do. Love you!"

"Love you too." Zoey smiled, hanging up as she sent them the coordinates to Sarasaland before sliding down and landing on her butt in the sand.

"They're in good hands..." She whispered, a relieved tear escaping her eyes.

"You're a heck of a good daughter." Mona said, sitting down next to her in the sand.

"Oh, you heard that?"

"I got worried." Mona smiled. "And hey, it could be worse."

"Like what?"

"I dunno, Atlas could... fall out of the sky and your parents would be caught in the middle of it." Mona said, before smiling. "Buuuut we don't have to worry about that happening. It's a big floating city, I don't think anything would happen to it."

"Even if it did somehow fell... I'm glad my family would have been away from it."

Mona grinned. "See? Silver lining!" She beamed.

"Yeah, I guess you're right on that." Zoey said as Mona wrapped her into a hug.

"It's gonna be okay, Zoe. And besides, I think maybe the heat died down so we can make our way back to Windpath."

"You think so?"

"Everyone's focused on Eggman and this... Faz-On thing, and really... would anyone really believe a pirate? They're all a bunch of liars anyway."

Zoey chuckled. "Good point."

"I'll go get the rest of the team and we can go back to hanging around at Windfall!" Mona grinned.

"Right." Zoey smiled as the two walked back into the cave, unaware of some airships coming in.

"Alright, we're heading back to Windpath!" Mona grinned.

"You sure that's a good idea?" Jen asked.

"Yeah, I mean, everyone's focused on Eggman and this Foe-Zoney thing. I'm sure everyone's forgotten about us." Mona said. "After all, people focus on one thing on the news, and by the time something new comes around, everyone gets short term memory loss and forget the first thing ever happened."

"She's not wrong." Chloe said.

"Sooo, we can head on over to Dreamland and find this Great Cave to locate the treasures!" Mona beamed.

Anthony chuckled. "And that, my friends, is how you know the heat died down." He said as they walked out of the cave.

"Yeah, now let's go and-"

"We have you surrounded!" A voice said as they saw the Atlesian Military surrounding them. "Team MAJC, you are under arrest! Put your hands behind your back!"

"What...?" Zoey wondered. "Does General Ironwood know what you are doing? Has he authorized this?" She demanded but the soldiers said nothing, some of the soldiers seemed to be a bit nervous. "Does General Esdeath know what you are doing too?"

"That doesn't matter!" One of them said, aiming his gun at Zoey. "Put your hands in the air. Now."

Zoey let out a low growl. "This has unauthorized action written all over it."

"Zoey, what do we do?" Chloe asked.

Zoey activated the baton in her feather duster. "Only one thing we can do."

Anthony smirked. "Fight our way to Dreamland."

Mona grinned. "Alright, time to make an epic comeback!"

BGM: The Comeback (All Good Things)

Mona went running over to a few soldiers, quickly dodging the gun shots as she punched one in the gut and sent him flying. She would then turn around and barely avoided getting grazed in the cheek as she used an uppercut to knock a soldier into the air.

Anthony would swing his Dust Staff, freezing a few soldiers in place as one would sneak up behind Anthony to shoot him in the back, but his gun would have been shot off his hand from Jen. He let out a yelp as she would shoot him in the gut with electric dust to electrocute him.

Camrin threw his rope spear at one soldier, only he dodged and grabbed the spear, smirking and then yanked him, only Camrin had anticipated this and used the momentum to jump and drop kicked the soldier to knock him down as he then breakdanced on a few other soldiers, then Chloe jumped in and swing her halberd on one who attempted to shoot at her brother.

"Zoey! Find us an exit point! There's going to be more coming!" Chloe instructed as one soldier tried to shoot her but Mona slugged him in the face.

"Right!" Zoey nodded, as Anthony threw up an ice wall with the ice dust from his staff as she looked through her scroll. "Ah! There are a few vehicles nearby, just south of here!".

"Motorcycles?" Jen asked.

"They seem otherworldly."

"Then let's get out of here!" Anthony suggested. "Mona, make a path!"

"Coming through!" Mona said, grabbing a soldier and throwing him over to some other soldiers, which opened up a path. "Path is open!"

"Let's move!" Anthony said as they started running while Zoey would stun a few individuals that would dare try to shoot at her charges.

"I see something!" Jen said as they continued to run, noticing the vehicles were covered in sand. Anthony put up another ice wall to block out any gunfire.

Instinctively, Zoey would dust off the sand and as the sand cleared, they saw that the vehicles were none other... than Air Rides. One for each of them!

"Coooool! I got the big one!" Mona said, hopping in a Bulk Star.

"I got this." Anthony said, hopping on the Shadow Star.

"This looks cool." Jen said, hopping on a Jet Star.

"I got... this emerald thing." Camrin said, hopping on a Swerve Star.

"This one speaks to me." Chloe said, hopping on a Winged Star.

"These look like they belonged in a race, but were long forgotten." Zoey said, hopping on the last one which was a Rocket Star.

"Well, good enough for a getaway!" Anthony chuckled.

"Let's roll." Jen said as the Stars roared to life as they started to move forward as they would start to life up into the air.

"Oh wow, these things can fly!" Chloe said.

"Nice." Anthony smirked.

"Mmph! Rrrgh!" Mona grunted.

"Mona, what's wrong?" Jen asked.

"I don't even know how to work this thing!" She responded as the Bulk Star lifted up only to come back down and Thwomped any Atlesian Soldier that tried to arrest them.

"Sorry! Pardon me! Trying to figure out how this works!" She said as she kept doing it repeatedly, mostly by accident as she kept crushing the soldiers.

"Yes, because pressing all the buttons and seeing what they do is a valid tactic." Chloe said half-sarcastically.

"Alright, got it under control!" Mona said as she lifted off and joined them, but noticed one straggler dangling from the air. "Hey, get off, you stowaway!" She said, making the Bulk Star shake vertically to make him fall off.

"AAAAAAH!" He yelled as he slammed into the sand.

"Alriiiight! Here we come, Dreamland!" Mona exclaimed as they all flew off.

End BGM

"Uuuungh..." One of the soldiers groaned.

"I'm okay..." Another groaned as a few soldiers stumbled around, trying to find their weapons.

"That could've gone better..." One of them mumbled.

Up on one of the airships, a soldier came walking up to a commander. "Commander, we lost contact with Team MAJC. However, we are currently tracking them now. They seem to be going to space."

"Can this machine go into space as well?"

"I dunno... maybe? I mean, none of us have been to space before."

"See to it that it does go to space. Make sure they are apprehended."

"Very well." A soldier saluted and then ran off.

The commander smirked, taking off her helmet as it was none other than Captain Syrup herself. "Take my Bottomless Coin Sack from me, will you?" She chuckled. "Your days are numbered, MAJC."

In Atlas...

"Who authorized an attack on a measly cave in Vacuo?" Ironwood demanded.

"You did, sir." A soldier said.

"I didn't authorize anything!" Ironwood told him.

"Well, according to our new commander... you did."

"Commander? Who is this commander?"

"Apparently her name is... Commander Syrup. She has paperwork and everything. She has a file too."

"And this is the first time I've heard about her." Ironwood clenched his fists, a deep growl escaped his lips. "Patch me through. I need to have a word with her."

"Yes sir." The soldier saluted and ran off.

"Ma'am! We're receiving a communication request, it's from Ironwood himself."

"Patch him through." Syrup smirked as a screen popped up.

"This is General Ironwood. Who are you? I did not authorize an attack on Vacuo!"

"Oh, General... I was just doing you a favor~ After all, I'm sure you heard about what happened with this Team MAJC some time ago."

"I have, but there has to be a good reason as to why they would do such a thing to that woman, which is why they were a low priority."

"Then you're welcome. Me and my men are taking care of it as we speak. In fact, one of your ships is chasing them in space already~"

"In space?! They're not suited for that kind of trek!"

"Not unless you find an emerald that gives off plenty of pure energy~ My men will be fine~"

Ironwood growled. "Commander Syrup, return to Atlas at once. I need to have a word with you. Alone."

Syrup smirked. Got ya. She thought. "Will do. I'm on my way back~" She said as she turned off the communication. "Oh James, you don't know who you're dealing with~"

In Dreamland...

BGM: Green Greens (Kirby Super Star Ultra)

The Air Rides came to a gentle stop in some tall grass. "Aaaand here we are!" Anthony said as they hopped off.

"Wooooow! It's so pretty!" Chloe's eyes sparkled.

"No kidding." Anthony nodded. "Now, let's go find this cave."

"Yeah!" Mona nodded as she started walking. "We just have to find a large cave and we can easily-"

Camrin let out a gasp. "Mona! Watch where you're walking!"

"What are you talking about? It's not like I'm walking off a cliff or anything... that's funny, why does it feel like I'm walking on air?" She wondered as she looked down to see that she was over a giant hole in the ground. "Oh..." She whispered before she fell. "WAAAAAH!"

"Mona!" Anthony exclaimed as one by one, they fearlessly jumped into the hole after Mona.

End BGM

Unbeknownst to them, a Waddle Dee with a Bandana on his head spotted this as his eyes widened, and in a panic, he quickly ran off to Castle Dedede.

Meanwhile...

"Hmm..." Makoto Naegi walked around Toad Town, rubbing his chin in thought while also avoiding the blobs of Phazon around town. "I shouldn't let this attack distract me. I need to focus on this case." He said to himself as an ambulance went rushing by, swerving through the Phazon.

"According to Kiri, she believes that Team MAJC was frames by this Captain Syrup. And according to one of the members of JINX, they mentioned something about Syrup lying through her teeth."

He folded his arms. "Mmm, but where would we find this woman anyway?" He wondered, unaware of where he was going.

"Watch it!" A voice yelled, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Ack!" He yelped and noticed he was about to step on some Phazon. "Oh!" He backed up.

"That was a close one." The voice said as Makoto turned to the source of the voice, seeing that it was none other than Sae Nijima.

"Oh, you're that private investigator, aren't you?" He asked. "Sae... Nijima, was it?"

"That would be me, yes." Sae nodded. "Are you with this Future Foundation?"

"Indeed, I'm friends with Kyoko Kirigiri and Asahina. My name is Makoto Naegi."

Sae looked at him in surprise. "Incredible... I have a sister with the same name."

"Oh, is that so? That's cool." Makoto smiled.

"You looked deep in thought. Something on your mind?"

"Yes, I'm looking into the case with Team MAJC and Captain Syrup. Kyoko had a feeling that Syrup was lying through her teeth on the news. She asked a member of Team JINX, Nyx, I think, if what she said about Syrup was true. She responded by saying that Syrup is railroading them. She was going to check this case out... and then of course, Eggman happened."

Sae nodded. "Truth be told, I was planning on looking into this case myself. I, too, find Syrup's testimony to be suspicious. Unfortunately, I got caught up with a lot of cases, I didn't have time to get around to that one."

Makoto smiled. "Then how about we work on this case together?"

"Sounds like a plan. All we know about Syrup's last known location was in Diamond City, so I suggest we start there."

"Agreed." Makoto nodded.

"But before we go, I need to give someone a call." Sae said, pulling out her phone. "We worked together on a few cases ever since I've moved here."

"Oh?"

"Hey Maya, it's me. Is Phoenix available? He is? Great... have him meet me at my office." She said and then hung up.

"Friend of yours?"

"Yes. Let's just say... Syrup isn't going to last long." Sae said with a small smirk.

Also, yay, a Nintendo Direct tomorrow! I don't know who the final Smash character will be, but watch as Doom Guy gets in and Sora is a Mii fighter just to spite me and me making fun of my predictions in that Chibi skit.. then again, I gave up on Sora when Sephiroth was revealed... oh well. It was a fun ride... wait, hold on, Ibuki where are you?
