"WHOOOOOOOA!" Mona yelled as she continued to fall as she tried to grab onto a rock wall to try and slow her descent, digging her nails into the wall in the process as she would slowly descend… and then came to a somewhat gentle yet hard stop on the ground. "Mmmph!" She grunted. "I'm okay!"

She would then look up and see her friends falling. "Hang on, I got ya!" She said, holding her hands out but Camrin would use his Rope Spear to embed it to the wall and rappelled down, Chloe grabbed the spear and did a few flips before gracefully landing as Zoey would do the same as well, while Anthony fired some ice dust from his staff to form a small ramp for him and Jen to safely land on.

"…Or you guys can take care of yourselves." Mona sweatdropped as Camrin pulled the spear off the wall and caught it.

"Well, that's one way to drop in." Anthony said. "I imagined a cave would be embedded on a cliff wall."

"Not this one, apparently." Jen said. "Great Cave of… Pitfalls."

"That seems to be a likely name for this place." Zoey said, brushing herself off.

"Well, in any case…" Anthony cracked his knuckles. "We're definitely in the Great Cave, so we might as well do some exploring."

"Right!" Jen nodded as they walked forward and found themselves in a tree-like area where their first encounter was a Knuckle Joe shadow boxing, completely unaware of MAJC walking in as they walked past him and a friendly Waddle Dee… and then they found their first treasure chest.

"Score! Right out in the open~!" Mona grinned as she hopped down and reached for the treasure chest… right as someone else touched it. "Huh?" She wondered as she curiously looked at a blue Squeak. "What's with this cutely adorable bunny mouse… thing?"

The Squeak curiously looked at her… before pulling out a bomb and throwing it in her face, which immediately exploded. "AAACK!"

"Mona!" Camrin exclaimed as the dust cleared as Mona blinked through the soot on her face. "Are you okay?"

"What did I do to deserve that?" She asked as she punted the blue Squeak away, then she reached to open the chest, but a claw arm grabbed it. "Wha…?!" She yelped as she looked up to see a UFO grabbing it.

"I got it!" Jen said, shooting the claw arm to release the treasure as Mona dove for the treasure right as a few other Squeaks dove for it and resulting in a fighting dust cloud that got most of MAJC, aside from Anthony and Zoey, involved.

"What in blazes is going on here?" A voice asked as they saw Daroach approaching them as the dust cloud settled down, resulting everyone either strangling the other, a bomb about to be lit, a hammer about to clobber Mona, a gun pointed at a ninja mouse and what have you.

BGM: Fawful is There (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story plus Bowser Jr's Journey)

"Blegh… this cave is infested with mice!" Mona said in disgust. "Bomb throwing midgets, a weird mouse in a UFO, a ninja mouse, a dapper looking mouse and… a big ugly mouse!"

"I happen to be very intelligent, thank you very much." Doc said.

"You say "ninja mouse" as if it's a bad thing." Spinni said.

"Thank you." Daroach nodded.

Storo, meanwhile, sulked in a corner with a depressing aura around him. "I'm not ugly…" He said as a few Squeaks hopped over to cheer him up.

"For the record, we're Squeaks." Daroach said.

"What's the difference?" Chloe folded her arms.

"Have you ever seen a mouse wearing fashionable attire?" Daroach asked.

"…No?"

"I thought so."

"So, if I might be so bold to ask… who are you?" Anthony asked. "Just saying "the Squeaks" isn't enough."

"Ah, we are legendary treasure hunters searching for treasure the world over, and may we be so bold to suggest that it's not only Dreamland that we scour the lands for treasure, but Popstar's moons as well… particularly the one known as Gensokyo."

"Uh… gesundheit." Mona said.

"Interesting… so you're treasure hunters as well, eh?" Anthony smirked. "We happen to be treasure hunters ourselves. We are team MAJC from Remnant."

"Never heard of you." Spinni said.

"Ah, Remnant, you say? We have visited that place before… mostly to deal with a purple mushroom problem. We have been planning to pay Remnant a visit and discover its treasures." Daroach mused. "However, we decided to take a detour once we have heard of the Great Cave Offensive."

"So that's what this cave is called? Interesting." Camrin said.

"Fancy." Anthony chuckled. "We heard about this cave ourselves and decided to see what makes this cave so "great".

"Two treasure hunting teams… how fascinating!" Daroach mused and then had an idea. "So, who is the leader of team MAJC?"

"Technically, it's Mona… but I'm the brains of the team." Anthony said. "Anthony Halyard."

"Charmed. So how's about a proposal… a wager, if you will."

"I'm all ears."

"Considering we have a lust for treasure, how about we have a friendly little competition to see who gets the most treasure in this cave?"

Anthony smirked. "Oh… a little race to see who gets the most? Sounds like fun."

"Indeed. What do you say?" Daroach asked, extending his arm.

He let out a chuckle. "We accept." He said, shaking Daroach's hand.

"Very well. We shall begin our little competition." Daroach said as he turned around. "Oh, and by the way… we don't play well with others. So if we ever cross paths, do not expect a warm reunion."

"I figured you'd say that. You're on." Anthony said as the Squeaks disappeared.

BGM: Underground Forest Area (Kirby Super Star Ultra)

"Well, I guess we have a rival now." Jen said. "Heh, well, this got interesting."

"And they left the treasure behind~!" Mona smiled, opening the treasure… only to see a note. "What?!"

"Thought it would be so easy? This contained a gold medal worth 10,000 G. The hunt is on. - Daroach."

"Heh… looks like this is going to be a fun challenge." Anthony smirked. "Let's move." He said as they headed off, seeing some Lovelies guarding a pedestal while some Waddle Dees and a Waddle Doo wandered nearby.

"Looks suspicious." Zoey said.

"Yup." Chloe nodded, taking out her halberd. "So sorry about this." She said as she cut the Lovelies down as Anthony and Jen would push the block forward to reveal a hidden room as Jen walked in and spotted a treasure chest in the water.

"Ah!" Jen smiled as she dove in and swam down, opening up the treasure chest.

Gold Coin obtained! - 1,000 G

Jen swam back up to the surface and then walked out. "Here Mona… something to tide you over." She said, tossing her the coin.

"Oooh!" Mona took it. "Shiiiiny!" She grinned before putting it in her pocket. "Alright, we're on the board now! Let's go!" She said as they climbed up a small cliff and took out a Gator as Zoey would destroy a bomb block and then two other bomb blocks, then she would hop down and noticed lava pouring out, preventing her from reaching the other side. "Oh!" She yelped and jumped out.

"Bad news. There's lava pouring out of the bottom. There's no way I can get through." Zoey said.

"Well, that's unfortunate." Camrin said and noticed two Squeaks hopping out of a small hole with a whip on their heads, one of them letting out a taunting giggle at them… until Chloe front flipped and took the whip away from them.

"I'll take that!" She said as the Squeaks let out a yelp.

Whip obtained! - 6,800 G

Chloe would quickly knock out the small minions and walked over to them. "Here, you might get better use out of this." She said, tossing it to her brother.

"Thanks!" Camrin said, catching it with a grin as they would climb up another cliff and then hop down into a hole as they would go into the next area, climbing up a cliff and dodging a Birdon shooting feathers at them but they would avoid them as they would climb down a ladder and went toward the left, opening doors while Jen shot a Scarfy because she didn't trust it as they climbed up a ladder and opened up a few other doors… to see an empty treasure chest.

"Ack!" Mona yelped as Anthony found a note attached to the treasure chest.

"I foresee in our future with this crystal ball that we will win this competition. - Daroach."

Crystal Ball obtained by the Squeaks! - 200,000 G

"Clever." Anthony chuckled.

They would hop down and landed to where they originally started but this time they went right as they hopped into a pool of water and swam around, dodging some curious Squishies as Jen would see some star blocks, where she would shoot them as they would climb out and found a treasure chest, opening it up to obtain a Lucky Cat statue.

"Awww, cute!" Zoey smiled.

Lucky Cat obtained! - 500 G

"Somehow, I feel as if this is worthless." Camrin said.

"Ah, at least we got some more cash under our belt." Anthony shrugged as they went back underwater as they would swim around until they found the door that led to the next area, and as they did, they would see crumbling platforms all around, and one of them had a treasure chest dangling above them.

"Hmm…" Camrin rubbed his chin in thought as they made their way across while the platforms crumbled behind them. Camrin turned around and used his whip to snag the treasure chest. "Anthony, burn the rope!" He requested as Anthony did so, and when the rope was cut, Camrin, with the help of Mona, yanked the whip and the treasure chest to them before it hit the lava.

"Booyah!" Mona said, opening it up and pulling out a sword. "Ooooh, fancy! I'll keep this!"

Seiryu Sword Obtained! - 142,000 G

"Woo! I've got a machete and a sword now. Go me!"

"A machete that you never use because you rely on your fists." Camrin pointed out.

"Eh, I like to collect things." Mona shrugged as they climbed up and noticed Anthony making his way down a ladder. "Did he find something?"

"Something caught his interest, yes." Jen nodded as Anthony came back up a moment later.

"I think this will be useful." He said, pulling out said item from his pocket.

Screw Attack obtained! - 80,000 G

"That looks familiar… I can't remember where I've seen it." Zoey said.

"Eh, looks ugly." Mona said.

Anthony attached it to his chest. "I think it looks cool." He said as they climbed up and already seeing an opened up treasure chest between two Bronto Burts with a note attached.

"We got a little peckish… it was either this or suffering the wrath of an angry puffball again. - Daroach"

The Squeaks ate the Echigo Candy! - 8,000 G and a satisfied sweet tooth.

"None for us? Aww…" Chloe pouted as they walked ahead, hopping down into a small watery area as they swam ahead and destroyed some Star Blocks until they climbed out of the water and up a few ledges as they found themselves another treasure chest.

"Let's see what's in this one." Jen said.

"…My faunus senses are tingling. I don't trust this one." Mona said.

"What? It's not like it's a mimic or anything." Jen said, opening up the chest… when it suddenly vibrated and a mask popped out… but it was't just any mask.

It was Phanto.

BGM: Boss - Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All Stars)

"Whoa!" Jen yelped.

"Someone who's not really a faunus picked up on something like this?!" Chloe said in surprise. "What the hell is this?!"

"I don't know, but this thing's gotta go!" Camrin said as Jen proceeded to shoot at Phanto, but the dust bullets did nothing as it dove right for them, but they avoided it as Phanto charged again as Anthony would jump up, as the Screw Attack activated and struck Phanto, making it fall back as Anthony landed on the ground.

"…Hmm." Anthony mused, pulling off the Screw Attack and looked at his staff as Phanto charged at him, but Mona grabbed a hold of it.

"Oh buzz off! Go bother someone else!" She said, throwing Phanto away as it smacked into a few Squeaks.

"Squeak…?" A Squeak wondered as Phanto stared at them and gave them a menacing look as they squeaked in terror and hopped away as Phanto chased after them.

"You're welcome." Mona said, dusting her hands off. "Next time a Faunus doesn't trust something. Listen!" She said and walked off while a confused Waddle Dee pulled up a sign.

"But she's not a true Faunus… right?"

"You get used to it." Camrin said as he walked off with a chuckle as the others followed suit, rolling their eyes while smiling over Mona's shenanigans.

As they went into the next area, they would see Storo walking away with a treasure chest. "Oh no, you don't!" Camrin said, grabbing the chest with his whip and pulling it away before Storo could realize what was going on.

"Hmm?" Storo wondered and then realized his treasure was stolen. "Hey!" He yelled, pulling out his hammer.

"Looks like we have to fight our way out of this one." Jen said.

"Welp, what's a few scraps?" Anthony chuckled.

BGM: Squeak Squad Theme (Kirby: Squeak Squad)

Stop, Hammer Time! - Storo

Storo jumped into the fray and proceeded to hammer them, but they dodged the attacks as Mona went running in and punched him in the gut and Jen would shoot him with electric dust. Storo simply shrugged these off as he hammered Mona, but she backflipped to avoid them as he swung his hammer to hit Jen, making her slide a bit.

Anthony ran over to Storo, twirling his Dust Staff as sparks flew out of it, activating the Screw Attack as he would swing the staff and electrocute Storo, making him bounce back as Camrin would thrust his rope spear into him, Chloe swinging her halberd and Zoey swiftly kicked Storo in the gut.

"Tickles." Storo chuckled, swinging his hammer down but they would dodge it as Anthony proceeded to throw fire dust at him from his staff, which was enough to engulf the big guy in flames as he let out a pained squeak as he fell on his back… but he got back up and turned red.

"Oooh, he's pissed!" Mona said.

"This battle's already over." Anthony said, having figured out his weakness as he unleashed a stream of fire from his staff, engulfing the big guy as Storo fell on his stomach in defeat as smoke rose from his body… and waved a white flag in surrender.

"Yeesh… I feel kinda bad." Mona said.

"Oh, he'll be fine." Anthony said, opening up the chest. "To the victor goes the spoils."

Star Stone Obtained! - 82,100 G

"Oh, and it's shiny too." He said, tossing it to Mona.

"Woo!" Mona fist pumped as she put it in her pocket as they would head off while Chloe took the time to put a bandage on Storo's forehead.

"There you go, big guy." She said, patting him on the head and went off to catch up with the others who were busy knocking out Plasma Wisps and Simirrors through a corridor, and at the end of the corridor, they would see an open treasure chest while some Gordos moved past them.

"Going out with a "Fang", get it? …Hello? At least it's better than a certain blonde's jokes. - Daroach"

The Squeaks obtained the Beast's Fang! - 7,300 G

"Booooo." Mona pointed her thumb down.

"I dunno, I thought it was pretty clever." Chloe chuckled as they went into the next area, where they were greeted by a few Magical Sweepers and Tacs, but were quickly defeated by them as they would hop down and noticed a few Squeaks checking out a yellow Squeak wearing a bandana, doing some poses with it… and were immediately KO'd by Camrin and Chloe.

"All of that for a bandana?" Camrin asked.

"Might look cute on one of us." Chloe said, picking it up.

Bandana obtained! - 1,990 G

The team would then make their way up a ladder and hopped down on a platform where Jen would notice a treasure chest as she ran toward it while shooting up Magical Sweepers as she opened up the treasure chest and pulled out a glowing rainbow heart.

"Hmm?" Jen wondered as the heart would glow and went inside her chest. "What the…" She would immediately feel herself absorbing it as she felt herself float up and closed her eyes, before opening them as her right hand burst into flames and her left hand crackled with electricity.

"Whoa… what's all this?" Jen wondered to herself. "I feel… great!"

Seasons Heart and Weather Powers Obtained! - 250,000 G

"Whoa! Putting the magic in team MAJC." Mona chuckled. "What do we call this? The magical Maiden…?"

"No." Jen smiled. "For some reason… I feel like I'm one with the seasons." She said, pulling out her guns and shooting up lightning and rain.

"Okay, that's spring." Anthony said.

Next was fire bullets.

"That'd be summer." Zoey said.

Next was bullets that pushed everyone away, AKA wind.

"That's fall!" Chloe said, as Jen would shoot out ice magic.

"And that's winter." Camrin said.

"Oooooh! The Seasonal Maiden!" Mona grinned.

"I got something better. Gun Maiden." Jen smiled as she walked off with a hum.

"Well, that'll do it." Anthony chuckled, watching Jen toss up a fireball up in the air with her hands before extinguishing it.

"I could get used to this." Jen chuckled as they wandered into the next area where they would find themselves surrounded by a large body of water.

"It's quiet… be careful." Anthony said as they walked across the boardwalk with their weapons at the ready. As they did so, something bubbled up near the surface.

"Hmm?" Zoey turned her head. "Watch out!" She yelled as a massive whale breached out of the water. What was odd about this particular whale was that it had a dopey smile and a pipe sticking out of his mouth.

"Looks like we got ourselves a fight!" Anthony said.

Boss (Kirby's Return to Dreamland)

Dopey Whale - Fatty Whale

The Fatty Whale would land on the boardwalk as it would aim down and try to attack them by spraying water from its blow hole, but they would avoid it as Mona would proceed to punch it in it the face to knock it back as Anthony would jump over and Screw Attacked him with his staff.

The Fatty Whale would proceed to curl himself up to a ball and would roll toward them as he would bounce on the ground to try to trip them up, nearly crushing Camrin but he would have rolled away in time as he and Chloe swung their weapons to strike him.

"Have some of this!" Zoey said, swinging her feather duster and electrocuting the Fatty Whale, causing it to roll into the water where it would try to shoot her with water from his blow hole in retaliation before diving inside and then breached out of the water.

"Alright, I'm ending this!" Jen said, her hand crackling with electricity and shooting a lighting bolt at the Fatty Whale, electrocuting it as it fell onto the boardwalk and then she aimed her gun and fired an electric bolt into the sky as a massive lightning bolt struck the Fatty Whale, then she planted her hands on the boardwalk as a plume of fire rose up from underneath the Fatty Whale and struck him.

"Hrah!" Camrin yelled, throwing his spear like a javelin as it pierced through the Fatty Whale as he would "pop" like a balloon and flew around before slamming into the water, dazed stars circling over it.

"Oh! I wasn't expecting to pop him like that." Camrin said, retrieving his rope spear with a sheepish chuckle.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. Let's go." Anthony said as they walked off together.

Meanwhile, at Castle Dedede…

"What?!" Dedede said in surprise. "You mean to tell me a group of teens fell into the Great Cave Offensive?!" He said as Bandana Dee nodded. "Oh, that's not good… I've heard tales of how treacherous that cave can be. I would go ask Kirby but he's not here at the moment."

In Gensokyo…

"Poyo!" Kirby exclaimed.

"I'm just getting warmed up, little guy!" Yuyuko smirked as they proceeded to eat the food in front of them.

"Who exactly is winning this?" Sanae wondered.

"I don't even know anymore…" Adaleine sighed with Ribbon staring on in disbelief.

Back at Castle Dedede…

"Well, maybe we can ask Meta Knight." Escargoon said.

"He's busy patrollin' the sky today." Dedede said. "Hmm…" He folded his arms. "Well, there's one possibility that I know who would make the Great Cave Offensive look like nothin'."

"Oh?"

In Atlas…

The airship docked at the station as Ironwood approached the ship along with Clover who had accompanied him. "Couldn't bring Esdeath along?"

"No. She got caught up in something regarding Beacon. She won't be long." Ironwood said.

"That's fair." Clover nodded. "Thought you could use some good luck?"

"Yes." Ironwood nodded as the two waited for "Commander Syrup" to show up, but she didn't come out. "Commander Syrup, come out with your hands behind your head!" Ironwood called out, but no one came. "Commander Syrup!"

Ironwood let out a growl. "Let's go." He said as he and Clover walked into the ship, only to see it completely empty. "It can't be empty… where is she?"

"Hmm?" Clover turned his head, spotting a note on the command deck as he took a look. "General, you might want to have a look at this." He said as Ironwood walked over to read the note.

"So sorry I couldn't make my flight~! Hope to see you some day, James ol' boy. - Captain Syrup."

Ironwood let out a growl, punching a wall in frustration. "Dammit! She tricked us…" He growled.'

"What do we do now?"

"Put out a warrant for her arrest. I need answers." Ironwood said, and then his scroll started ringing. He would pull it out and see it was Esdeath. "Ah, Esdeath." He said and answered it. "Hello? …What's wrong? You sound a little out of it." He said as he listened to her. "Mhm… oh… I see… what?! Slow down, what happened?"

Ironwood's eyes widened before his expression turned somber. "I understand. Get back here as soon as you can… alright. Love you, honey." He said and hung up, slowly walking out of the ship.

"What's up?" Clover asked.

"There was a Grimm attack on Beacon. Several of Beacon's star players were unavailable so she and a few warriors set off to defend Beacon. However… it came at a cost."

"That being?"

Ironwood stopped walking and turned to Clover. "The Fall Maiden has passed."

With Syrup…

"Hmhmhmhm." Syrup chuckled, descending toward Mantle with a parachute. "Hope he liked his present." She said and then landed on the ground, disposing of the parachute. "Now, back to Diamond City…" She hopped into a Warp Pipe and disappeared into it.

Meanwhile…

"So, where are we going anyway?" Makoto asked after they picked up Phoenix.

"Some friends." Sae responded. "Let's just say they're detectives you want on your side."

"Oh? Sounds like you know them rather well." Phoenix said.

"Indeed. They helped me out with a few cases if you weren't available." Sae smiled as she knocked on the door.

"Come in." A gruff voice said as they walked in, where they would see the office was dark. "Ah, miss Nijima!"

"Hello boys." Sae greeted warmly.

"How ya doing?"

"Pretty well. Listen, we need your help with something."

"Oh? What seems to be the problem?"

"We were hoping you'd help us out on a job. It's about bringing Captain Syrup to justice."

A crocodile emerged from the shadows, resting his elbows on his desk. This crocodile in particular had headphones and a chain around his neck.

"And what's in it for us?"

Ibuki: Ooooh, the plot thickens!

Yeah... and i've never really been a fan of Fatty Whale. That stupid dopey smile and that stupid pipe just made him look absolutely stupid, and it got dumber when you saw his entire face during one of his attacks...

Ibuki: Soooo, shall we tally up how much the Squeak Squad and MAJC have in total so far?
