Chapter 7.
The Mobian Cat had one thing in mind now, to make her parents proud. She planned to do this in the best way she knew how. There was no time for self-doubt. Hershey had people counting on her.
She glanced at a picture of her and Drago. They both looked so happy together. Hershey smiled at it. Sure they had their rough times, she thought to herself, but there were happy ones too.
"Drago wouldn't lie to me. Would he?" she said to herself.
She found herself starting to have doubts, could she trust him? Sure there were good times, though there have also been bad ones. He was unpleasant when angry.
She shivered at those thoughts, Hershey hugged herself. Her eyes were closed. She then took a deep breath, then she blew.
"That's better..." she murmured.
She opened her eyes, a look of determination on her face. There was no time for doubts. Hershey needed to have faith in Drago and herself.
"I have to do this, for you two." she looks at Cocoa and her father in a picture "And for Mobius. There is no room for doubt."
She stands up, feeling a steely resolve from within. There was no time for doubts to cloud her mind, not now. The Mobian cat left her room. She was mentally preparing herself. She took her disguise with her.
Back at the castle, Snively was running to stop Robotnik's secret weapon, the Ultimate Annhilator. First he will make some modifications to it. Ones that shall end this war. Modifications that will end his uncle's reign of terror.
"I have to do this now." Snively thought to himself, feeling determined "I can't risk waiting until after I stop Hershey and save the Princess."
Soon, he saw the doorway leading to the operation room. He smirked as he ran inside, Dr. Quack was in there. Snively did not notice the doctor at first.
"What are you doing here?" The Mobian Duck asked contempuously.
Snively took notice of the doctor. He sighed in annoyance, the Overlander did not think anyone had been in here. How was he going to explain himself. He did not trust the duck to keep a secret.
"Well, not that it is any of your business." Snively stated, in a false haughty tone "But I have come to check on the Ultimate Annihilator. Under his excellency's orders."
"Oh really?" Dr. Quack asked.
"Yes, really!" Snively seemed annoyed "Want to ask him yourself?"
"No sir..." The doctor muttered in disdain.
"Good, now excuse me." Snively goes over to the computer operating the weapon.
He looks back to Dr. Quack who has his back turned. This eases Snively's mind somewhat. He was not aware that Dr. Quack was listening in. Snively pressed some buttons on the computer, then the weapon was onscreen.
"Yes!" The man silently cheered.
He then configured some things on the computer. On the screen it said "Target Location: Knothole Forest.""
Now all Snively had to do was pick a new target. He already had one in mind; his uncle. The man thought back to everything his rotten tyrant of an uncle put him through. He also thought of all the pain Ivo Robotnik has caused throughout Mobius. The guilt also wore heavily on Snively's heart. As he also had a hand in causing pain in Mobius.
"He deserves to die, for what he's done..." Snively seethed "The least I could do, is ensure his death."
It now read ""Target: Ivo Robotnik." An image of the despot was shown in place of the forest. Snively smirked at this.
He pressed a button to confirm the target. The words "Target Confirmed" were on the screen. What Snively did not know was, Dr. Quack had been looking over his shoulder. The duck saw what was occurring, but said nothing.
Snively brought the image of the Annihilator back on. The Overlander left the room not saying another word to the Doctor. Dr. Quack waited for awhile longer. He left too in order to rendezvous with the Freedom Fighters.
Snively raced to the tower, the one where the plan to frame Sonic was to take place. He found a hiding spot. The Overlander believed that this would be the best place to wait. He sat down.
"Mother, if you are watching." Snively thought to himself "I won't let you down, not again."
The next day, Sonic and Sally were in Robotropolis. Sally used her horizon view goggles to scope out a building. She pointed it out to Sonic.
"There's our target, Sonic!" She told him.
Sonic looked concerned for Sally "You sure you're up to it, Sal?"
Sally listened to his concern, honestly, she had been a little on edge. Though "a little" might be an understatement. There was no time for those worries now though. She had to be strong. Everyone was counting on her to succeed.
"But of course, are you?" Sally asked, confidence in her voice.
The blue hedgehog perked up hearing his best friend's tone. He was glad that she was feeling alright. Sonic smiled at her.
"I'm always up for trashin' ol' Ro-Butt-Nik!" He smiled sounding as confident as ever.
Sally smiled at his confidence, when she was with Sonic, everything seemed possible. He helped her feel strong inside. The squirrel princess really admired him. Even more then that, far more. She loved him, lot.
Then she frowned, looking more serious "Just remember to follow the plan!"
"You got it." he took out his rappel gun "First we got to get to where we're going."
He fired the gun to the building top. As Sally held on tightly to him. They were pulled to the building. Soon they were on top.
Hershey was on one of the towers. Waiting for who she assumed was Snively, Drago told her to expect him. Little did she know, he was on another part of the tower. Sitting against a nearby pillar. He woke up from his sleep.
"Huh? Where was I?" He asked himself.
Then he looked to Hershey, thankfully, she did not notice him. The Mobian Cat was in her Sonic costume. Snively knew of this part of her disguise. He stayed hidden trying to think up a plan.
Hershey was a bundle of nerves herself. She could not stop fidgeting. She knew that if she killed Snively it would be a major victory. Soon after, they will be able to stop Robotnik.
"You can do this Hershey." she told herself "Drago and everyone else, they are all counting on you."
Speaking of Drago, he was nearby by with Lupe and the other members of Wolf Pack. Little do his "allies" know, he is working for Robotnik's side. He has a smirk on his face that Lupe and the others don't notice.
