So, I know some writers write ahead to get consistent updates...but, er, I don't feel like keeping information, and also, I don't think I could write ahead so much while still updating. Consistent updates are just kinda unlikely for my stories.

I don't own anything.

"Perseus? Like the hero." Jason noted.

"You're named after an ancient hero too." Percy retorted, pulling a new shirt own while tossing away his torched one. "Son of Zeus?"

Jason nodded. "Yeah, that's how I could defeat the storm spirit. You're the first demigod i've found, and i've been looking for demigods since I–since a while ago."

"Since you what? Since you," Percy frowned. He had been trying to think of it for a while, but Jason looked familiar. Not only the appearance, but also the wind, the lightning powers. It clicked. "You're that kid who escaped from the government a couple days ago!"

Jason stiffened, and his face turned dark, and Percy realized he might have been a little too direct. "Uh, sorry. It's probably a sore subject."

"It's fine." He said curtly, then sighed, before looking down. "Nice panda."

"Eh–oh." Percy hoped he wasn't blushing. "Uh, yeah..."

"I wish I had a pillow." Jason didn't sound like he was joking. "I've been sleeping in hard ground and alleys."

Percy grimaced. "I feel you. Anyway..." He quickly zipped up his bag. "I don't think we're safe here. I know a place we can rest for a while."

Jason hesitated only for a second, before nodding. "Lead the way."

"This is nice!" Jason commented, running his hand over one of the water beds. "How did you find this place?"

Percy tossed the weapons in corner. "There was a monster luring people through this. I killed him and took over, I guess."

Percy realized that sentence sounded really stupid, but Jason nodded like it wasn't anything new.

"...You're not surprised?"

Jason just shrugged. "I've learned that monsters can be anywhere. They can be disguised too. I had a teacher that was a blemmyae."

"A what?"

"A monster that looks human but with no head." Jason explained, before lying down on a waterbed, sighing loudly. "Been a long time since i've been this comfortable."

Percy decided not to ask how a headless monster disguised as a teacher. He surveyed his stash of weapons. All celestial bronze, twenty daggers, ten swords, eight spears, and a bunch of arrows.

"Hey, Percy–can I call you Percy? How did you survive that lightning bolt?"

Percy frowned. "I'm not sure. I suppose because Poseidon's the storm-bringer, so i'm resistant to lightning or something."

Jason sat up suddenly. "You're a son of Poseidon?"

"Yeah?"

Jason's eyes were suddenly bright with excitement, which made Percy a little uneasy. "Zeus is Poseidon's brother. That means we're cousins!"

Percy blinked. He was right. This was technically his cousin. Part of his family. Another one?

First his mom, then Triton, and now Jason, a cousin? Percy would be lying if he said he wasn't at least slightly excited. But Percy still remembered the sorrow and pain losing his mom, then having to leave Triton. Would it happen again?

This is different. Percy told himself. The last times he wasn't able to do anything. He was naive and inexperienced. He could change that this time.

"Oh." Percy said.

"I know!" Jason continued. "This is great! I never had a cousin!"

"Me neither." Percy admitted. "It's always been just my mom and I."

Jason paused his hyper-rant. "Your mom?"

"Yeah..." Percy hesitated, wondering whether or not to tell Jason about his mom. He had just met him...but Jason seemed like a good guy. And he was his cousin. "A–a monster came into our house one day. She–she didn't make it."

Jason's smile faded, changing into a bitter one. "Yeah, same story here. Except it was humans, not monsters. We weren't very careful with concealing our powers. Armed men suddenly burst into our house one day, trying to kidnap us. My mom tried everything to stop them. I never saw her again."

Percy nodded somberly. "So you do understand. I never like it when someone says, I'm sorry about your mom."

"It never feels sincere."

"But I'm sorry about your mom."

"Thanks." Jason said. He didn't seem very talkative anymore. Which was fair.

It took a couple of seconds to kick in, but Percy realized something. "Wait, you said, we, and us. Who was the other person?"

Jason blinked, but his expression became guarded, before he shrugged. "I suppose there's nothing to keep secret. It was my sister, Thalia. Both of us were taken into custody."

"For how long?" Percy pressed cautiously.

Jason scowled. "Almost four years. But I had a sudden increase in power a few days ago. I managed to bust out. They're probably still looking for me."

"What about your sister?"

Jason's hands clenched. "I don't know where she is. All I know is she's still in captivity."

Percy hesitated. Jason was getting more and more angry, but Percy decided to ask one more question. "Do you know who captured you?"

"A company hunting demigods. I don't know much, but they're called the Triumvirate Holdings."

It had been pretty quiet for a few hours. Crusty's Palace was very big, so space wasn't an issue, and also, Percy wasn't keen on going out again. Jason took a nap, but Percy trained on his water prowess. He had to be more adept and stronger with his powers. Percy liked to think there was a reason for everything. There had to be a reason why he had these powers. Everytime he had used his powers before was when he needed to protect himself, or someone else.

He manipulated small amounts of water at first, raising them up and then fusing and dividing them. Then Percy tried it with larger amounts of water, juggling them in the air.

Though, sometime later, maybe an hour or two, Percy's stomach growled. Loudly.

"I heard a lunch alarm." Jason's amused voice came from behind him.

"Shut up." Percy groaned, turning to him. "Though I don't have any food."

Jason sighed, running his hand through his blond hair. "I haven't eaten for a while now. Got any money?"

"Yes, but it's going to run out very soon." He had foolishly blown most of it yesterday. Percy had been kind of living with the mindset, live each day as your last.

Mostly because everyday could really be his last. "That's not good."

Percy shrugged. "Well, might as well use it today. We can find a way to get money tomorrow."

"I'm not sure that's a good idea, but I'm too hungry to argue." Jason pulled on a hoodie. "Let's go."

They exited the shop, and Percy double checked for the boys from yesterday, monsters, or government officials. Thankfully, this time, the alley was empty and barren. They left cautiously and hurriedly.

Percy tried to both scan his surroundings carefully and look inconspicuous. He probably wasn't being successful, but at least they made it to the fast food restaurant without interruption. Percy only let his guard down when they sat down at a table (and after making sure the waiter wasn't a monster).

"Here's your food." The waiter set the trays on the table. "Have a great rest of your day."

Jason took a huge bite out of his double cheeseburger. "Cheeseburgers. Food of the gods."

Percy tried to concur, but he was already halfway through his burger. All around them were families eating burgers and drinking sodas. Percy was about to chug down his soda when he spotted the new report on the tv. "Hey, Jason. Dude, look at that."

Jason, still chewing, turned to stare, and his food was in danger of dropping out of his mouth when he realized what it was.

"A recent fugitive of the U.S. Department of Defense has escaped, last seen in Brooklyn, New York. A reward money of ten thousand dollars is being offered for his recovery. Renegade Jason Grace, age 13, 5'8. Call 703-545-6700."

Suddenly, the cheeseburger didn't seem as appetizing. "Ten thousand? That's...wow."

Jason snapped a plastic fork, startling Percy. "I can believe it."

"What?" That much money just seemed so...unnatural to Percy.

"The Holdings has a ton of money. It's one of the largest and richest businesses in the world." Jason looked calm, but his hand was still trembling with the broken fork. "It owns property all over the world. But its motives are...mysterious."

"You think they're behind this?" Percy blinked, confused. "It said the U.S Department of Defense."

"The Holdings pretty much run everything in the shadows." Jason shook his head. "Most people don't know it exists. It's a national organization hell-bent on world domination, pretty much."

"So...you're saying the U.S Military is being controlled by the Triumvirate?" Percy asked.

Jason scoffed. "Some way or another. From what I know, they're everywhere. The Communist Party of China, the U.S. Military, the United Kingdom Parliament."

Jason rattled off the information, but Percy couldn't help notice how tense he was. His arms were trembling, fists clenched, and Percy swore he was grinding his teeth. He didn't know what the government had done to him. Percy didn't know if he wanted to know either.

"We're not safe here."

Jason nodded. "They'll be here soon."

"Let's go. Quickly." Percy said.

They only made it out the door before Jason stopped and hissed. "You've got to be kidding."

Percy followed his gaze. Twenty feet away, two men in black suits paced toward the restaurant. Cliche men in black, with the tuxedo and black sunglasses. "Secret agents? Monsters in disguise? Tax collectors?"

"Which one's worse?" Jason shook his head. "Look at the pin."

Percy squinted, and a badge on the first's chest read 'Triumvirate Holdings" in bright gold letters. "Crap. You think they might be here for something else?

"Unlikely. There's no reason else for it. I thought we would have more time, but," Jason cursed in Ancient Greek. "We have to go the long way."

Percy frowned. If they would walk directly back to Crusty's Waterbed palace, they would have to go past the officials. "Do they see us?"

"I don't think so. Or at least they don't know we're who they're looking for." Jason said.

"How do you know?"

"Cause we're not dead."

They walked briskly in the other direction, and Percy took some quick glances backward. "Are they following us?"

"No. They entered the restaurant." Jason sighed in relief.

Turning the corner, Percy happened to glance to his left at the clearing overlooking the water. A couple people were there, chilling and chatting, while some stared through the public binoculars. But in the center were two more Triumvirate agents, scanning the perimeter. "Get down!"

Jason had just noticed as well, and crumpled instantly, his face pale. Percy's face wasn't any less. They were so close, within earshot no less. One mistake and they would be under chase. These agents were everywhere!

At this point, Percy wouldn't be surprised if agents were right behind them. A demigod's luck was worse than Murphy's law. Everything that could possibly go wrong, would absolutely happen. Percy was desperately trying to figure out an escape route without being spotted. Not enough people to hide a quick retreat, and no path safe from the scanning eyes of the Triumvirate agents.

Percy took a risk and peeked over their hiding spot. The first agent tapped his earpiece. "Nothing over here. Are the half-bloods not at the restaurant?"

They didn't seem very cautious about talking about this in public. In fact, the second agent joined in. "Are you sure we're in the right place? This seems a lot of work for just one escapee, even if he is the son of Zeus."

"Respectfully, sir," The first agreed. "We still have his sister, it's not total loss–"

Suddenly both flinched like they'd been shot, before stiffening. "Yes sir. Apologies, sir."

"Let's go."

They both left, practically running past the still crouching Percy and Jason. Percy let out a big sigh of relief. "Jason. We're in the clear."

Jason was wide-eyed and short of breath, still looking down. Percy frowned and waved a hand in front of his face. "Dude, you alright?"

"D–did you hear what they said?"

"Well, yeah." Percy, confused, said. "They were arguing. Looking for us, which they might succeed if we don't keep moving, Jason."

"No, not that." Jason suddenly grabbed Percy's arm. "Percy, they mentioned my sister!"

Percy grimaced in slight pain. "Okay...so? I thought you knew where she was."

"Honestly," Jason shakily chuckled, his eyes wide. "I had no idea if she was still alive. We have to go after them!"

"What?!" Percy protested. "This is our chance, Jason. We don't even know–"

"HEY!" They both whirled around. Two more agents from behind them were running toward them, shoving pedestrians out of the way. "Stop right there!"

Jason reached in his pocket and took out a golden coin. Flipping it, it suddenly transformed into a javelin, and Percy took a quick step-back. "I thought it was a sword before!"

"Heads is sword, tails is spear." Jason quickly clarified, then pointing the weapon at the two agents. "Stay back!"

People scattered, some screamed, others recorded it on their phones, Percy didn't really care. He wondered what the mortals were seeing right now. Maybe they saw a rifle, or some other weapon. In any case, it terrified them.

The agents slowed, but didn't deter. Percy noticed they didn't care at all what the people saw. Fine them. Neither do I.

He took out Riptide, relishing the expression of uneasiness from the agents.

"Put your weapons down, boys." The first agent warned, with a voice that demanded no argument. "We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way."

Percy clenched Riptide tighter. "I don't think so." He glanced at Jason, who was in danger of lunging at the two and getting himself killed. Percy didn't blame him. Jason had been held captive by the Triumvirate for years.

"I'm not going back there." Jason hissed, raising his javelin. Percy realized with a horror that a thunderstorm was brewing. People were now gathering into a crowd, and if Jason wasn't careful, this whole clearing would be blown apart.

The second agent merely laughed, a sinister noise that sent chills down Percy's spine. Were these really mortals? "You think you can scare us, boy? I've faced hundreds of demigods like you. And where are they now?"

"Stop this, or we will put you down." The first agent repeated. Percy didn't see any weapons, but he was pretty sure they didn't need them to be dangerous.

More agents were coming. Percy and Jason couldn't take them all down. The agents were getting closer. "Jason!"

Thank the gods, he understood. A blast of wind flung the two agents back several feet. "Follow me!"

Jason looked like he was about to lunge at the stunned agents, but begrudgingly followed Percy. "Where are we going?!"

"STOP THEM!"

"Into the ocean!" Percy shouted back, running closer. The railing was just a few feet away now.

"What?! How will that–"

Thunder boomed, followed by the sound of gunshots. But it was too late. Percy dragged Jason off the railing, into the ocean far, far below, with Jason screaming.

It was a tad hard to concentrate with all the shouting, but Percy focused. A huge wave hurled from the sea, catching them mid-air.

By the time the agents got to the railing, they were long gone.

Percy and Jason washed up on a beach. Somewhere far, far away. "That. Was close." "We're not safe here." Percy sighed. "I think we might have to just go on the run for now."

"No." Jason stood.

"What?"

"I'm not running away anymore." Jason resolutely said.

Percy sighed. "Is this about your sister? Dude, you're obviously a top priority of the Triumvirate. And so am I, most likely. The best strategy is just to lay low."

"Percy, they have my sister! And as they said, hundreds of other demigods!" Jason protested, and Percy stiffened. "I was just one in a thousand, a lucky escapee. There are demigods in captivity, forced in gods-knows what. We can't just to nothing about it!"

Percy frowned. It was stupid, it was irrational, it wasn't a good idea. But the thought of hundreds of demigods, who had gone through the same things he did, just a little more unlucky, stuck in lab while mortals experimented on them was horrifying. And once the image was in his head, no matter how hard Percy wanted to ignore it, tell himself 'it's not me, at least', he couldn't brush it off. Dang it, empathy.

He let out an annoyed sigh. "Where are we supposed to start, then? We know literally nothing."

Jason's eyes lit up. "Well, first of all, the easy way to grab information is from those agents. And they're already looking for us. If we could get them to reveal the location–"

"What, we'll storm the base? Attack their lair? Get ourselves killed?" Percy interjected. "We have powers, but we're not invincible, Jason!"

The blonde stopped. "You're right…we don't have the numbers." He disappointedly admitted, but the dejection disappeared as Jason's electric blue eyes flashed like the storm. "But we can get them!"

Percy drew back, a bit uneasy. "Wait, what?"

"We can find demigods like us! Out in the wild, wandering, and they can join our team!"

"Is this Pokemon?"

Jason was on a roll. "I'll bet there are demigods all over the country. They might not be too far from us right now!"

"Jason, don't get too ahead." Percy warned. It was a good plan, for sure, and they could still help demigods. But Percy had to be the cautious one here. "You mentioned you've been looking for demigods for a while, and I was the first one you found. It's unlikely one would just show up!"

Too late. "Come on Percy! No time to waste!" Jason began running off in a random direction, drunk with excitement.

"We just escaped, why are you–oh, forget it." Percy sighed, running a hand through his hair. Despite his exasperation though, he smiled. Jason's energy was infectious. And his hopeful nature was starting too rub off on him. Shaking his head, Percy jogged after the other boy.

In front, out of earshot, the son of Zeus had a big grin on his face. I'll find you, Thalia! I swear it!

So, I know, updates are slow, but whatever. Interestingly, I heard a rumor that if you right in Comic Sans, you'll right super fast or something. Hilariously, it kinda worked, so that'll probably be what I'm doing from now on. Anyway, I know Percy is a lot more cautious and smart and more paranoid, which is a bit OOC, but it works for this story. Jason is more hopeful and excitable, but hey, did you notice?

So yes, they will be looking for other demigods. Obviously, I'm planning for the Seven, along with some others. Who do you think Percy and Jason will meet first?

And finally, I have a Break the Fourth Wall scene. Just because. Get ready for randomness.

In a separate universe, far, far away, the Seven discussed an interesting topic.

"Wait, Pokemon? I never thought about that!" Percy's eyes lit up.

"Dude, how awesome would it be if we had a Pokemon battle!" Leo agreed.

Annabeth scoffed. "Pokemon at its heart is a strategy game. You boys wouldn't hold a candle to me."

The rest of the Seven glanced back and forth like a battle was about to take place. Piper took out popcorn.

"A candle? Girl, I excel at holding flames." Just for effect, Leo summoned fire. "Besides, strategy or no, it is a game! Leo the Gamer boy, right here, right now–"

Suddenly, Leo and Annabeth were at two different sides of a Pokemon arena. Percy and Jason stood at Annabeth and Leo's side respectively. Somewhere above, an announcer shouted, "POKEMON BATTLE, 1-ON-1! BATTLE BEGIN!"

"What is going on!?" Annabeth shouted. In the stands, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Nico, and Reyna cheered and booed. Coach Hedge started singing 'Gotta Kill 'Em All'.

"Oh, yeah!" Leo grinned madly. "Electric beats Water! Jason, use Thunderbolt!"

Grumbling something about not being the trainer, Jason complied. A bolt of lightning flashed toward Percy.

"Dodge it, quick!" Annabeth called, and Percy spun out of the way.

"Boo!" Piper shouted. "Dodging is cheap!"

"Use surf!" Annabeth called, and Percy summoned a huge wave of water at Jason.

"Fly!" Leo demanded, and Jason soared up in the air.

Annabeth gritted her teeth. Jason was descending fast, wreathed in wind. "Ice punch!"

A white coating covered his fist, and as Jason went to tackle Percy from above, as Percy swung a icy haymaker at him...
