In this chapter, Daisuke meets the emperor and gains some teammates.

Chapter 2: Teammates
SCHOOL COMPUTER LAB
Daisuke groans in pain as she sat up, her whole body was sore and her head was pounding. She was also sure she had a few bruises on her back, she winced feeling the dull throb in her ankle.
"Hey, when you guys came out of the computer where did you come from?" Cody asked his eyes moving between the group on the ground and the computer.
"W-where? Oh! We came from the digital world," Daisuke said as Yolei walked over and helped her up.
Daisuke winced as she was helped to a chair, she sat down before taking her shoe and sock off to show her bruised ankle. Looks like she won't be playing sports tomorrow, Daisuke sighs as she put her shoe and sock back on.
"Looks like you won't be playing sports for a few days," Cody said making Daisuke sigh.
"I was afraid of that," Daisuke said as she put her foot down.
"I'll call Jun to come and pick you up," Cody said as he left to make a call while TK scratched his cheek.
"How are you gonna explain that to her or the teachers?" TK asked a little worried.
Daisuke narrowed her eyes in thought, she couldn't keep the truth from Jun since she also had dreams about these 'Digimon' so she would have to tell her. Her parents also needed to know, god knows they worry enough about them as it is.
"I'll just tell them that I tripped going down the stairs, it's happened before," Daisuke said with a sigh.
While she trusted Kari with some of her secrets the girl had yet to get Daisuke's full trust on the matter of her flashbacks, it mostly to do with personal reasons but Daisuke got a feeling in her gut that telling Kairi too soon would lead to headaches Daisuke would not want.
After a small chat of dinner and what everyone would be having Yolei and Cody left, Kairi then left with stern words to Daisuke about taking it easy with her ankle. TK gave Daisuke a handshake before leaving while Izzy and Tai stayed behind to help Daisuke, when Jun arrived Tai and Izzy helped Daisuke to her parent's car where they thanked the boys and went home.
"What happened, dear? You're too tense and look troubled," Haru, their father, asked as he helped his youngest into the living room of their home and sat her down.
"We need a family meeting, it's to do with the headaches," Daisuke said as her mother got her shoes off and checked her ankle.
Her parents shared a look before nodding and soon after her ankle was wrapped up, everyone was seated in the living room. Jun was fiddling with her shirt as their mother and father held hands, Daisuke took a deep breath before she began to tell them of what happened, of the computer room, of how she was pulled into the digital world, and then of the digimon and what the world was going through.
"Also, there was an Omnimon there," Daisuke said pausing to look down at her chest, she reached up and touched that spot.
"My gods, so that strange event at the news station, and the internet attack, was digimon related?" Hitomi asked slowly wrapping her head around things.
"Seems so," Haru said as Daisuke shook her head.
"I think our strange memories are connected to the digital world, when I was there I started getting more, it was so much clearer," Daisuke said as she lowers her hand and leans on her knees.
"This boy trying to take over, he sounds like a tyrant," Haru said with a cross as he crossed his arms.
"I think we'll be going back tomorrow, I want more answers," Daisuke said as she looks up a determined look in her eyes.
Hitomi sighs saying "We can't really stop you, but please be careful if you get caught in your memories or worse,"
"Even though it is digital, you can still get badly hurt," Haru said glancing down at Daisuke's ankle making her nod.
"Jun?" Daisuke asked looking at her sister who bit her lip.
"I'll wait for a bit, I need some time to think this over," Jun said making Daisuke nod, it was a big thing after all.
"I'll make a note for school tomorrow," Hitomi said as she got up and went to the kitchen to write a note as to why Daisuke it not doing sports.
Jun got up and helped her sister to her room and then went to help make lunch, Daisuke hums as she changed into some pajamas, the talk went better than she thought it would. She paused in putting her top on when she noticed something in the mirror, her birthmark, the Omega symbol. It was no longer the same light pink skin tone now, it was black. Like she had gotten it as a tattoo instead of at birth.
"Was this because of today?" Daisuke questions as she touched the mark, she sighs putting her top on and leaving her room to go and have dinner.
Later in her room, she was laying on her bed, she had written today's adventure down, and what she could remember of her flashbacks. She was thinking about Veemon and Omnimon, those two. Why did she feel like she knew them? They were so familiar, mostly Omnimon. He made her feel strange, safe, warm.
'I'll get some more answers tomorrow' Daisuke thought as she rolled over and pulled the covers over her body as she drifted off to sleep.
NEXT DAY
AT SCHOOL
Daisuke sighs as she stood waiting in the computer room, Izzy was already inside working on the digital gate. At least he was trying to, from the sounds of things he was not much-getting luck.
"Daisuke," Yolei said making the new leader look up at her friends.
"You guys okay?" Daisuke asked as she pushed away from the desk to face them as Izzy looks over.
"Yeah, though I couldn't stop thinking about the digital world, I feel like I need to go there," Yolei said as she crossed her arms.
Cody nods saying "Yeah, my dreams got more frequent the more I thought about it,"
"Dreams?" Izzy asked as he stops typing.
"Ah, yeah, Cody and Yolei have the same thing I do, we have memories and dreams related to the...digimon," Daisuke said as she turned around.
"I see," Izzy said as he remembers the meeting the older DigiDestined had.
During that Kari had brought up Daisuke having memories and flashbacks related to the digital world, then of her noticing how close Omnimon was to Daisuke. Maybe it was possible that Daisuke was a DigiDestined but lost her memories due to trauma or something else. Now that he was told this, was it possible that Yolei and Cody were her former teammates? He saw them pull out their digivices, it would make sense then for them to get the devices if they were former DigiDestined. But why would they get new ones? What happened to their old ones if they even had any. So many questions yet not enough answers.
Before Izzy could start asking some questions he heard a beep from the computer making him look over to see the gate open, he frowns wondering why it would open just now was it thanks to the new devices? Unfortunately, Izzy couldn't ponder over this as the rest of the group turned up, that being Kari, TK, Tai, and Sora.
"Those are the new digivices? How cool," Sora said as Daisuke, Yolei, and Cody held out their digivices.
"That's right, those are the ones that were released from the digiegg when I touched it," Tai said as the trio pulled the devices back.
"Looks like we'll be going," Yolei said as Daisuke nods.
"You'll need to be careful though it's a bit overwhelming at first, not to mention the clothing change," Daisuke said making Cody nod while Yolei tilts her head confused.
"Clothing change?" She asked making Daisuke nod and look down at her own clothing.
"Yeah, my clothing completely changed," Daisuke said remembering the mostly black outfit.
Izzy suddenly spoke up after checking on the other computers.
"My suspicions were confirmed, I just checked the other computers, none of them seem to be affected by this, the gate is only open on this one here, that's not all," Izzy said walking over and typing away at the one computer.
"The gate has never been open two days in a row before," Izzy said making Daisuke nod.
"Well then, let's go, all ashore who's going ashore," Daisuke said making everyone nod but before everyone could gather around the computer another voice spoke up.
"Tai Kamiya is that you? We haven't seen you in a while," The teacher, Mr. Fujiama said entering the computer room.
"Mr. Fujiama," Tai said shocked.
"And Sora and Izzy are both here as well, didn't you all graduate?" Mr. Fujiama asked as he walks over.
"Yeah we did and what are you doing here?" Tai asked making the older man strike a pose.
"I'm the new head of the computer club," Mr. Fujimama said making Yolei look at Cody.
"He is?" She asked making Cody nod.
"The last head just retired," Cody whispered making Yolei nod.
"Huh? But what do you know about using computers?" Both Tai, Izzy, and Sora asked.
Instead of being offended the man said "Not a single thing,"
The group sigh at his response before Tai smiled and moved to push the man out of the room.
"I just remembered there's something I've been meaning to talk to you about Mr. Fujiama," Tai said making the man confused but he nods and kept being pushed along.
"Um, sure what is it?" The man asked as he was pushed out of the room.
"Um, ha, I've been having problems adjusting to high school, it's the girls their so much older," Tai said turning the corner and giving a victory sign to the group inside.
"Thanks, Tai, we owe ya," Sora said making everyone nod.
"Alright, let's get going," Izzy said making everyone gather around the computer and hold up their digivices making the screen glow and suck them inside.
DIGITAL WORLD
Daisuke stumbles a bit before getting her balance as she looked around where they landed, unlike last time which was a forest, the gate had dropped them in a grassy hill area.
She looked down to see her outfit was once more black with the red jacket, she sighs looking over at Cody and Yolei only to pause and take in their new outfits.
Cody now had on some dark blue jeans with rips at the knees and the lower half of his legs, his feet were covered in some black combat boots and his top had changed into a white button-up top with a brown jacket over that, his belt was red and he had brown fingerless gloves on. Yolei on the other hand, she now had on a pair of purple shoes with black socks and some nice black jeans, keeping them up was a grey belt with a fox head on it. Her top had changed into a yellow T-shirt with a purple jacket, her glasses had remained unchanged.
Daisuke watched as her friends looked around taking everything in, she saw how Cody frowns as he reached up to hold his shoulder as Yolei's eyebrows drew together. She walked over and held their shoulders as behind them Kari and TK watched on while Sora and Izzy shared a look.
"This place feels...strange," Yolei said as she looks down and noticed her clothing.
"You were right, our clothing did change," Cody said as he took notice.
"Try to stay relaxed okay, it will be...overwhelming for a while," Daisuke said patting their shoulders making them nod.
"They are close," Sora said as she noticed the trio talking to themselves, Kari nods.
"I wonder how they met," TK said before stepping forward as the group got moving.
They began walking across the hills, Izzy and Sora calling out for their digimon unaware that they were being watched.
EMPEROR'S BASE
The Digimon Emperor smirks as he saw the kids from yesterday arrive, only with a few different ones. No matter, he could still deal with them.
"Hehehehe, I've been waiting for you to get here, now let the games begin," He said before growling as he looks down at his left hand as it spasms, he clenched it into a fist making it stop.
"How annoying, hum, Snimon attack!" The Emperor orders making one of the digimon under his control fly off.
BACK WITH EVERYONE
"Veemon! Omnimon! Where are you!" Daisuke yelled as she stood on a hill with everyone.
So far they couldn't find any digimon, not surprising since many would be hiding right now with the Emperor around.
"Veemon! Omnimon!" Daisuke yelled again and smiled when she got a reply back.
"Daisuke! I'm over here!" Veemon yelled in the distance as she ran over, Daisuke ran over to meet her as the group follows suit.
Daisuke knelt down to Veemon's level making the blue dragon smile, she winks saying "I brought Patamon and his friends with me,"
Daisuke looked up to see Patamon flying over with Gatomon running behind him and two other digimon, she watched as the one called Tentomon ran over to Izzy and the bird called Biyomon ran over to Sora. She smiled at seeing them reunite before frowning as she noticed someone missing.
"Where's Omnimon?" Daisuke asked looking around.
"He said he bringing some friends over," Veemon said as she looks around as well.
"He said he wouldn't be too long," Veemon said with a huff.
"I'm not, I just got delayed," A voice said making the group stop and look up to see Omnimon flying down with two other digimon.
One looked like a white and red knight, he had a shield and lance that he quickly puts away, his red cape moving in the wind. His golden eyes looking the group over with a curious look in them, the next digimon was of feline in nature, dark brown and white with a tail that ended in a fluffy bob, long wavy blonde hair coming from behind a mask that looked like a lion's head with green eyes shining from them, and around their waist was a red scarf thing of some kind, this digimon was also female judging by the raised chest armor in the shape of a female's chest and curved waist and limbs she also had these wings attached to her shoulder armor.
Cody gasped feeling his head hurt a bit, while Yolei bit her lip, both felt a tug in their chests as their birthmarks tingle.
"Omnimon, who are your friends?" Daisuke asked going over to him, the knight looked her over before nodding.
"This is my friend Gallantmon a royal knight and the knight of the hazard, this is Leopardmon also a royal knight and our strategist," Omnimon said as he gestures to his friends, his arm heads turning into armored hands.
"Greetings," Gallantmon said with a nod.
"Nice to meet you," Sora said as Izzy nods looking ready to ask so many questions.
"Hello there," Leopardmon said giving a little bow making Cody smile, his eyes flashing golden for a small moment.
"Hi, you have a cute tail," Cody said before blinking, why did he say that?
Leopardmon's eyes widen slightly at his words before glancing at Omnimon who nods, she bit her lip behind her mask and took a deep breath as she got a hold of herself even as that old line brought back so many memories.
"Thank you," Leopardmon said as Cody nods a small blush on his cheeks.
"Your royal knights?" Yolei asked looking between the three of them as Daisuke glanced around, why did something feel off?
"Yes, there are 13 of us," Gallantmon said he then sighs saying "Our leader Alphamon would have joined us but he has some problems to deal with,"
Before anyone could ask what problems he meant a shadow covered the group, Daisuke gasped looking up to see a huge mantis-looking digimon flying at them!
"Look out its Snimon!" Leopardmon yelled as the bug flew down at them.
"Sora move!" TK yelled tackling Sora out of the way as the bug flew at the group.
It flew over them as the rookie digimon attacked, sadly the Snimon avoided them, Leoparmond flew up with Gallantmon to block the Snimon from getting any closer, they couldn't use any attacks without fear of hurting the controlled digimon.
"Veemon, you need to armor evolve," Daisuke said making Veemon nod as Daisuke pulled her digivice out.
However, before she could activate the egg the ground below her gave out, she yells as she began to fall down.
"Daisuke!" Omnimon yelled as he jumped after her and caught her, he moves grabbing onto a ledge stopping their fall.
"Ugh, you okay?" Omnimon asked as his blue arm was holding Daisuke's waist and close to his chest.
"I'm okay," Daisuke said shaking her head from the sudden stop.
"Daisuke! Omnimon!" Veemon yelled looking over the ledge only to spot the digimon below the two.
"Below you! It's Drimogemon he lives deep in the cavities of the digital world!" Veemon said as she looked on in worry, Omnimon couldn't fight back while holding onto Daisuke.
"When I give the word hold onto me and I'll fly us out of here," Omnimon whispered making Daisuke nod.
"Veemon! Behind you, it's Mojyamon!" Tentomon yelled making Veemon turn only to yelp as a bone boomerang hit her on the head sending her over the edge.
"Veemon!" Daisuke yelled lunging forward to catch the dragon, only to jolt Omnimon off balance and send all three down to the Drimogemon below who caught them and went back underground.
Up above Yolei gasped in shock at watching her friend get swallowed by the ground, she felt a pain enter her chest as she fell to her knees. Her brown eyes flashed ice blue as she held her chest in pain, Gallantmon lands beside her and knelt down to check on her.
"Yolei, deep breaths," Gallantmon said making her look up showing her ice blue eyes that then fade, he gasped a mix of emotions hitting him before he got a hold of himself.
"We need to move to a safer place," Leopardmon said as Cody nodded.
Gallantmon picked up Yolei as she tried to fight the pain in her chest while Leopardmon fired off an attack to distract the controlled digimon before everyone escaped into the nearby forest.
WITH DAISUKE
Daisuke groans as she slowly woke up, her head hurts. She blinks before giving a startled yell as she found herself on the side of a cliff in a vast canyon! Her arms and legs clamped to the side of the cliff. She looks up and tried to tug at her arms but found them done tightly, she looks around remembering that Veemon and Omnimon fell down with her.
"Where am I?" Daisuke questioned when a voice made her look up to the top of the cliff above her.
"You're just hanging around," A young boy's voice, looking up Daisuke saw a boy dressed up with purple glasses on and spiky hair.
"Who are you?" Daisuke asked with narrowed eyes.
"I'm your worst nightmare come to life, frankly I'm rather disappointed that I was able to catch you so easily," The Digimon Emperor said with a smirk.
'Worst nightmare? Hardly' Daisuke thought before giving a quiet gasp as an image of a winged being, half white and half black flashed across her mind before it was gone, was that another memory?
Daisuke shook her head and glares up at the Emperor, she didn't like how smug he looked.
"Your the Digimon Emperor," Daisuke said.
"Speaking," He said mockingly making Daisuke frown.
"I expected someone...meaner looking, not a whiny stuck-up kid," Daisuke said feeling a bit annoyed, this made the Emperor growl at the insult.
"Quite the attitude you've got there, let's see if you are still so tough with your friends in danger," The Emperor said clicking his fingers.
A noise drew Daisuke's gaze to in front of her where a part of the cliff opens up and out came Veemon who was being held up the same as Daisuke with metal clamps while Omnimon had his limbs clamped but also his waist and neck to keep him from moving. The knight grunts struggling as he tried to break free but with his limited movements, it was hard.
"Veemon! Omnimon!" Daisuke cried as she saw them.
"Daisuke! You're okay," Omnimon said looking over at her as she nods.
"For now at least," Daisuke said as she glanced down, it was a long way to go.
"Hey, Daisuke! Hehehe, an armor digivalution would be good right now," Veemon said glancing down, on most days she wouldn't mind being up high but as a rookie digimon? No way!
"Just one problem with that, don't you need these?" The Emperor said holding up Daisuke's digivices and mini-computer, Daisuke's looks up before her eyes went wide before she blushed red.
'Hang on! I kept those in my inner jacket pocket! Near my chest!' Daisuke thought before getting a mix of embarrassed and angry.
"Y-You went through my clothes while I was out?! Y-You pervert!" Daisuke yells making the Emperor stumble on the spot.
"H-Hey!" He yelled his own cheeks turning a little bit red at the accusation.
Omnimon growls at this and looked ready to knock someone's block off while Veemon growls glaring up at the boy while Daisuke continued to yell at the boy for being rude and disrespectful to a girl.
MEANWHILE
After escaping the controlled digimon the rest of the group had made their way deep into a forest, Yolei has recovered from her panic and was walking beside Gallantmon who was on the lookout for any threats.
Cody was looking around the forest while Leopardmon was walking slightly behind him while being in her 'Leopardmon mode' turning her from two legs to four, she was quiet as they walked.
A beep then made Cody and Yolei stop, Cody spoke up saying "Hey, wait up,"
Everyone stops and turns to them as Cody said "This digivice is making noise,"
"My digivice is going off too, I think somethings nearby," TK said looking at his own device as the others pulled theirs out.
"A building of some kind," Sora said making Biyomon look at Tentomon.
"There are no buildings around here," Biyomon said making Tentomon nod.
"Yeah, just a temple," Tentomon said making Leopardmon walk over.
"A temple?" Cody asked making Gallantmon nod.
"Yeah, but it has been abandoned for some time now," Gallantmon said as the group was led over to the temple by following the devices.
"Well something must be in there to be affecting our digivices," Sora said as they arrived at the steps of the temple.
"So many steps," Yolei said as the group went inside the temple.
After going up many more steps, they arrived at the apex where they found two armor digi-eggs sitting on two pedal stools. Gallantmon stood back with his arms crossed as he watched the older children try to lift the eggs but it did not work, the two seem to realize something and then asked Yolei and Cody to move the eggs. The two shared a look, seeming a bit uneasy before stepping forward and easily lifting the egg.
This released the two digimon, Hawkmon, who was Yolei's new partner, and Armadillomon, who was now Cody's partner.
The two knights watched as the older kids gave words of encouragement, which helped Cody and Yolei to activate their Armor-digieggs making Hawkmon digivolve into Halsemon and Armalillomon into Digmon.
"There is one more thing before we go," Gallantmon said making the humans and digimon turn to the knights as Leopardmon went back to her bipedal mode.
Gallantmon steps forward and placed his hand on Yolei's Digivice, his hand glows as the digivice screen glows white. Data surrounded his hand before sinking into the device, it beeps once before going silent. Gallantmon nods, feeling the faint connection between himself and the device.
"From now on my power is yours to use, with the digivice you may summon me to your side," Gallantmon said with a smile behind his mask as Yolei looks stunned before smiling as she nods.
"Same with me," Leopardmon said as she did the same to Cody's device.
"Whoa, they also get royal knights as partners? Amazing," Izzy said as soon everyone got moving.
BACK WITH DAISUKE
After Daisuke had finished yelling her anger out at the digimon Emperor, she settled for glaring at the boy who had gotten his composure back.
"You know I have yet to test my dark rings on humans, maybe this will stop that temper of yours," The Emperor said clicking his fingers making a dark ring appear and go towards Daisuke.
"No! Leave her alone!" Omnimon yelled as he growls trying to break free.
"She's done nothing wrong!" Veemon yelled.
"She's trespassed into my garden, that more than enough for punishment," The Emperor said with a smirk.
Daisuke gulps as the ring got closer, unseen by her, her eyes turned red as a faint red glow crackled across her hands. Thankfully the dark ring never hit its mark as something else took it out.
"Lighting joust!" Gallantmon yelled as hit attack hit and destroyed the room, Daisuke gasped her eyes returning to normal as her hands stop glowing.
"Yolei, Gallantmon!" Daisuke said as the two came into view with Yolei riding a digimon with Gallantmon flying beside her.
"Help Veemon and Omnimon!" Daisuke yelled as she winced a bit feeling her shoulders sting a bit as her injured ankle throbs in pain.
Over with the two digimon the rock wall behind them breaks away, destroying the clamps and freeing them, Digmon caught Veemon before she could fall while Omnimon caught himself and quickly flew over to Daisuke.
"Hold still," He said and broke the clamps, he caught her making her nod.
"Thanks! Let's get down from here," Daisuke said as Omnimon nods and flew down to the safer ground level where the group had gathered.
"Daisuke, you okay?" Kari asked as Onimon touched down and set Daisuke on the ground, she nods as Yolei flew down and gave Daisuke her digivice back.
After that, it was quick work in taking down the dark rings controlling the digimon, with Flamedramon getting a good punch in to work out her frustrations. The Emperor left seeing as how he was now outnumbered. The armored digimon went back to their rookie forms and Daisuke meet the new digimon, she winced feeling the pain come back in her ankle. She hoped the next few days were digimon free so she could heal up.
"Daisuke," Omnimon said making her turn to face him.
"Yes, Omnimon?" Daisuke asked.
"Gallantmon and Leopardmon have become partners to Yolei and Cody, I wish to become your partner," Omnimon said making Daisuke's eyes widen before she nods and pulled her digivice out.
Omnimon reached over and touched it, some of his data going inside the device, it beeps making Omnimon pull his hand back with a nod.
"Thanks, Omnimon, we'll need all the help we can get," Daisuke said with a smile as she noticed everyone moving.
"Oh, time to go home, come on," Daisuke said reaching over and grabbing Omnimon's hand and leading him over to the group.
Omnimon smiled behind his mask as he felt the warmth of Daisuke's hand, he tightens his grip as they caught up with the group and began making their way towards the nearest TV.
5 MINUTES LATER
"So, this takes you back to the human world?" Leopardmon asked leaning over to look at the TV on the ground.
"Yep," Izzy said as he watched the feline digimon poke the TV.
"It is something to watch," Omnimon said crossing his arms beside Gallantmon.
"It's getting dark now, we should head back now," Cody said looking up at the sky, he didn't want to be late for dinner.
"Gather around everyone," Sora said making the humans come over and pull their devices out.
The TV screen glows and pulled the humans inside, Leopardmon blinks in shock, Omnimon wasn't kidding! She shook her head as she looks up only to notice something.
"Um, where did Veemon, Hawkmon, Patamon, Gatomon, and Armadillomon go?" Leopardmon asked making Omnimon and Gallantmon look down only to see Biyomon and Tentomon with them.
"Did they go with them?" Gallantmon asked looking back at the TV screen as the sound of crashing and groans was heard on the other side.
"I'll take that as a yes," Omnimon said with a sweatdrop on the back of his head.
HUMAN WORLD
COMPUTER ROOM
Daisuke groaned from the bottom of the pile as she felt a weight on her head, she felt someone's legs across her back and someone's torso across her waist.
"What happened to you guys?" Tai's voice was heard.
"Please don't ask," Everyone said.
"The new digimon went to their In-training forms," Tai said seeing the three new digimon.
Daisuke looked up at the small blue and white digimon on her head, she blinks as she looked over at Yolei who was looking at her new partner who was a flying pink ball of feathers, while Cody was looking at the cream ball with ears in front of him in shock.
Gatomon and Patamon got lucky, they landed on the desk, avoiding the human dog pile on the floor.
"Are we gonna have to do this every time we come back?" Kari said as she got her legs off Daisuke and rolled off the twitching Izzy who she squished.
"And I thought Digivolving was a tough job," Patamon said watching the group.
"At least we made it back safe and sound," TK said after getting his breath back, he had landed on a chair in a rather sensitive spot, ouch.
"Except Biyomon and Tentomon, I doubt the knights could fit here," Sora said as the screen beeps making everyone look up at it.
On the screen were Biyomon and Tentomon with the three knights behind them.
"Sora! Don't worry, we'll be safe here since the Digimon Emperor never attacks at night," Biyomon said as she waves to the group who slowly got up.
