Chapter Forty-Four: Heading to the Weasley's house
In a little village known as Little Hangleton there is an old mansion that is called "the Riddle House." It stood on a hill overlooking the village, some of its windows boarded, tiles missing from its roof, and ivy spreading unchecked over its face. It was once a fine looking manor until in the mid 40's the Riddle family were mysteriously killed. Everyone in the village had believed it was the gardener, Frank Bryce, even when he was cleared by the police. Even though it's been 50 years Frank was still looking after the old Riddle House. One night he had awoken and saw something very odd up at the old house. He growled as he believed it was the local boys who had gone inside to punish him. After he put down the kettle he got fully dressed, his walking stick and got the old key to the manor before leaving. He let himself through the kitchen and was able to maneuver himself through the dark. When he climbed up the stairs he turned right and saw the far down room with its door slightly opened. He slowly edged closer so he could hear and see who it was.
"There is a little more in the bottle, my Lord, if you are still hungry." A woman said
"Later," A man with a strangely high-pitched and cold voice. "Move me closer to the fire, Baba Yaga."
Closing her eyes Baba Yaga did her best not to kill the small creature and placed the bottle down before moving the chair closer to the fire.
"Where is Nagini?" The cold voice asked
"Exploring somewhere in the house I believe." Baba Yaga said
"You will have one of your daughters milk her before we retire, Baba Yaga." He said "I will need feeding in the night. The journey has tired me greatly."
"How long are we going to stay here, my Lord?" She asked
"A week." He said "Perhaps longer. The place is moderately comfortable, and the plan cannot proceed yet. It would be foolish to act before the Quidditch World Cup is over."
"I see, those fools at the Ministry will be obsessed with security to make sure the Muggles don't notice." She muttered
"Indeed." He said
Frank didn't understand anything that they were saying but knew they were up to no good.
"So you're still determined, then, my lord?" She said
"Certainly I am determined, Baba Yaga." He said with menace.
"I'm just saying...why not use the spell I told you about. You won't even need the Potter boy." She said "All you'll need is just one of your boys…"
"Silence, Baba Yaga! I already told you no." He said
"They will be the least protective." She hissed "Dumbledore knows you will be after the Potter boy. If you want to use that spell then why not use someone else."
"Do not question my reasoning, Baba Yaga." He said "If it wasn't for the spell that binds you to me I know you will abandon me or even kill me."
"All true, my lord. But it was either me or that spineless coward Wormtail to help you." She said "I'm only saying that you have other choices. Thanks to your...special objects...they have made your old body a bit frale. With my spell..."
"I will not destroy the ancient line of Syltherin! So shut it!" He yelled before continuing talking in a calm voice. "I have my reasons for using the boy, as I have already explained to you, and I will use no other. I have waited thirteen years. A few more months will make no difference. As for the protection surrounding the boy, I believe my plan will be effective. All that is needed is someone that I can trust."
Baba Yaga didn't argue as it was true. But she did make a mocking tone about how if it wasn't for her daughters bringing in Bertha Jorkins he wouldn't know about the events that were happening. The man agreed to that but stopped when he said that he heard Nagini coming. When the man's voice changed into something Frank couldn't understand, the old man heard hissing and movement behind him. He turned to look, and found and slithering towards him down the dark corridor floor, was a gigantic snake. It was at least twelve feet long. Frank was too scared to move as it kept getting closer and closer. The snake eyes the old man for a moment but slither around him and enters the room. Frank couldn't help but shake and mentaly sigh in relief when the snake passed by but then raised a brow as heard the man was talking to the snake in that strange language.
"Nagini had interesting news, Baba Yaga." The man said
"And that would be?" She asked
"According to Nagini, there is an old Muggle standing right outside this room, listening to every word we say." He said
With that said Baba Yaga opened the door wide, making Frank stumble back a bit.
"Invite him inside, Baba Yaga. Where are your manners?"
The cold voice was coming from the ancient armchair before the fire, but Frank couldn't see the speaker. The snake was curled up on the rotting hearth rug.
"Girls, bring the man in." Baba Yaga said with a sinister smile.
Frank let out a little yell as two hands pulled him in. When they let him go he turned around to see three women letting out cackling laughs. They all had pale white skins, black eyes, dark hair, wearing dark dresses and cloaks and had red gems on their forehead. Next to them was a young woman dressed in strange gypsy clothes.
"You heard everything, Muggle?" The cold voice said
What's that you're calling me?" Frank asked
"I am calling you a Muggle." The voice said coolly. "It means that you are not a wizard."
"I don't know what you mean by wizard. All I know is I've heard enough to interest the police tonight, I have." Frank said "You've done murder and you're planning more! And I'll tell you this too, my wife knows I'm up here, and if I don't come back…"
"You have no wife." The cold voice said "Nobody knows you are here. You told nobody that you were coming. Do not lie to Lord Voldemort, Muggle, for he knows...he always knows…"
"Is that right? Lord, is it? Well, I don't think much of your manners, my Lord. Turn 'round and face me like a man, why don't you?" Frank said, roughly.
The three women let out a sinister giggle.
"But I am not a man, Muggle." The cold voice said "I am much, much more than a man. However...why not? I will face you...Baba Yaga, come turn my chair around."
Baba Yaga smirked and did as she was told. She turned the chair around to face the old man and he ended up dropping his walking stick and let out a scream before a flash of green light hit him. The old man fell to the floor and never got up.
He was dead.

When morning came Vanessa couldn't help but smile as she was awakened by kisses on her back. Hunter had come over last night as the two had decided to take their relationship to the next level. She turned around to wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him. He then started kissing down her throat before kissing her right breast for a few minutes and then started on the other one. When he was done he kissed back up her neck before positioning himself inside her. She winced for a bit but was able to feel comfortable for a few seconds. Once she gave him the okay he started thrust in and out of her. He sighed in bliss as she felt so good around him. He kissed her shoulder for a few seconds as he continued on thrusting inside her. Vanessa had to hold in her moans as she didn't want her parents to hear them. They continued on for a while until they started to hear footsteps heading to her room. Worried that it was her parents or one of the servants, Hunter quickly got out of the bed and grabbed his clothes and hurried under her bed. A good thing too because it was Miss Potts that came in to wake Vanessa up. The witch princess was able to cover herself with her blankets when the maid came in.
"Rise and shine, your highness." Miss Potts said as she opened curtains in the room.
"Thank you, Miss Potts." Vanessa said
When the maid was done she told Vanessa about what was for breakfast before leaving and closed the door.
"That was close." Vanessa sighed
"Yeah. Very close." Hunter said
He came out from under her bed with his pants on. Then he put on his shirt as he sat down next to her.
"You better go before someone notices you spinned the night here." She said
"Yeah, I don't fancy your dad mounting my head on the wall." He said
"Daddy always says that but I highly doubt he would." She said
"No, I mean your vampire dad. He actually threatened to cut off my head and mount it on his wall." He said
"Yeah...I believe he would." She said as she slid her nightgown back on. "I can't wait to see him."
"He'll be out soon, right?" He said
"After the Quidditch World Cup." She said, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Any word about Sirius's?"
"It would be going well if that damn Barty Crouch swallowed his pride at being wrong." He muttered "But from what I heard Wormtail is cracking so it shouldn't be long." He lifted her chin with his finger to kiss her one more time before getting up. "I'll see you later, love."
They kissed one more time before he got up to leave. Vanessa sighed and lay back down on the bed for a few minutes before getting up and took a bath. She was a bit sore down there but thanks to her vampire healing ability it didn't hurt as much as she had heard from her friends. Once she was done she got dressed and headed out to get breakfast but when she passed Harry's room. She heard him breathing hard and went to check to see if he was okay. After she knocked on his door he woke up in a gasp and he started rubbing his scar.
"Harry? Are you okay?" She asked
"Um...yeah...I think. Just had the strangest dream. And my scar started hurting." He said
"What was the dream about?" She asked
He took a few deep breaths to calm down and sat up.
"It was in a dark dim room...there had been a snake on a hearth rug...Baba Yaga was there with three women...and Voldemort too." He said "It was strange…"
"You dreamed about Voldemort." She said with a brow raised.
"I think so. I didn't get a good look at him." He sighed "What do you think it means? You don't think it means...that he's back...do you?"
He had told her about Professor Treawney making an actual Prediction, weeks ago. About the Dark Lord would rise again, greater and more terrible than ever before all because his servant was going to go back to him. Baba Yaga had escaped that night and still hasn't been seen. Vanessa believed it was possible.
"If so, I'm wondering why now. From what Sirius and Dumbledore told us the hag hates Voldemort with a passion after the curse he placed on her." Vanessa said "But I think we should be wary and to Not brush it off."
Harry raised a brow when he heard the tone on the word not. So she reminded him about how he didn't take the broom situation seriously when they thought Sirius was evil back then. Harry would have said something but kept his mouth shut when he saw the look she gave her.
"If you want any suggestion I say maybe you should write to Dumbledore or Lupin. I would say write to Sirius but I have a feeling the Ministry would end up reading it." She said
Harry nodded in agreement as Sirius did warn him to be careful with what he writes to him. So Sirius was suspicious about that too and that's why Harry was careful with what he wrote in his letters.
"Come on, I can smell the cook's special french toast." She said
She got up and left the room with Harry not far behind.

After breakfast they got a letter from the Weasleys saying that they will be picking Harry and Vanessa up around 5 pm. Arthur Weasley was able to get great seats for the upcoming Quidditch World Cup and had invited the Potters to join them. They had packed up for the next two weeks and waited for them at the living room fireplace after dinner. Ben had invited Chad over for dinner and for some reason he was trying to flirt with Vanessa. From what Pandora had told her, he and Audrey broke up again.
"So Vanessa...when you come back from your...freaky sport thing…" He said "Maybe we could…"
"Don't even think about it Chad. Hunter is still my boyfriend." She said "And you're still not my type. And...ew."
Harry did his best not to laugh at this. He had met Chad a few times and he had to admit that was very anxious and very self centered.
"I really don't see what you see in him." Chad scoffed "You are gonna be Queen someday. You should be dating someone with royal blood."
Vanessa was just about to tell him off until Arthur, Fred, George and Ron came through the fireplace. The sight of them made Chad scream and hid behind one of the couches.
"Sorry about that." Arthur said
"No worries, Mr. Weasley. He's always been a wimp." Vanessa said
He then greeted Ben and her parents before asking her and Harry if their trunks were ready. When they nodded Fred and George went to take them and winked their way. Knowing how her friends are she knew that they were up to something.
"Off you go then, Fred." Mr. Weasley said
"Coming." Fred said "Oh no...hang on…"
A bag of sweets had spilled out of Fred's pocket and the contents were now rolling in every direction...big fat toffees in brightly colored wrappers. Vanessa knew what they were and did her best to keep a straight face. Fred went to grab them and crammed them back into his pocket before stepping forward in the fireplace. He vanished the moment he said "the Burrow." Then George and Ron went inside the fireplace next. Vanessa said goodbye to her parents and was about to step in the fireplace until they heard a gagging noise. She turned around and saw that Chad was kneeling beside the coffee table and was gagging and sputtering on a foot-long, purple, slimy thing that was protruding from his mouth. It took her awhile but saw that it was Chad's tongue. Then she saw the brightly colored toffee wrapper lay on the floor before him.
"Well that's a new improvement." She muttered
"Not to worry, I can sort him out!" Arthur said "It's only an Engorgement Charm."
Not wanting to deal with this she left to the Burrow. When she got to the Burrow she was greeted by all the other Weasley children.
"Did he eat it?" Fred asked excitedly.
"Yeah." Vanessa said "So what was that?"
"Ton-Tongue Toffee." Fred said "George and I invented them, and we've been looking for someone to test them on all summer…"
The room exploded with laughter and she saw that two older brothers were there too.
"Bill, Charlie, it's great seeing you guys again." She said and went to hug them.
Charlie was the second eldest, built like the twins but was a bit shorter and stockier than Percy and Ron. He had calluses and blisters under his fingers. He had a broad, good-natured face, which was weather-beaten and so freckly that he looked almost tanned. His arms were muscular and one of them had a large shiny burn on it.
"Bill, nice earring, I like it." She said
"Thanks Vanessa." He smiled
Bill was the eldest of the Weasley children. Everyone always thought he would be like Percy since he was Headboy in his Hogwart years and worked at the Wizarding bank, Gringotts but he was much cooler than that. He was tall, with long hair that he had tied back in a ponytail. He was wearing an earring with a fang dangling from it. His clothes would not have looked out of place at a rock concert, and his boots were made of dragon hide.
It wasn't long till Harry came through the fireplace with a big grin on his face. Then Mr. Weasley popped in with an angry look on his face.
"That wasn't funny, Fred!" He shouted "What on earth did you give that Muggle boy?"
"I didn't give him anything." Fred said "I just dropped it… It was his fault he went and ate it, I never told him to."
"You dropped it on purpose!" Mr. Weasley roared
"How big did his tongue get?" George asked
"It was four feet long before I could shrink it!"
Harry, Vanessa and the Weasleys roared with laughter again.
"It isn't funny!" Mr. Weasley shouted "That sort of behavior seriously undermines wizard-Muggle relations! I spend half my life campaigning against the mistreatment of Muggles, and my own sons,..."
"We didn't give it to him because he's a Muggle!" Fred said
"No, we gave it to him because he's a great bullying, self centered git that has been trying to flirt with Vanessa nonstop, no matter how many times she tells him." George said "It was either this or Hunter would have done something much worse when he found out."
"He's right, Mr. Weasely." Vanessa said
"That's not the point! Mr. Weasley raged "You wait until I tell your mother…"
"Tell me what?"
Molly Weasley had just entered the room with suspicion in her eyes.
"Oh hello Harry, Vanessa, dears." She said with a smile before snapping her eyes back at her husband. "Tell me what, Arthur?"
It looked like Mr. Weasley wasn't gonna rat out the twins but in the end she got it out of him and she was furious. Before she exploded on them Vanessa and Harry had followed Ron, Hermione and Ginny to place their stuff upstairs. The witch princess felt bad for the twins as she knew it was their life long dream to open their own joke shop but their mother didn't approve of it. She pretty much knew how they felt as her parents felt the same way about her being a Magiczoologist or wanting to study dragons in Romania. They want her to be Ben's royal advisor but she wanted something more.
When it had settled down they had gone back downstairs to help with dinner. They were gonna eat outside as the kitchen was too small for a table of twelve. There was a bit of fun when Bill and Charlie enchanted the tables to duel each other in air. Percy ruined it when he had asked them to quiet it down as he had to concentrate on his work. He started working at the Ministry the moment he graduated from Hogwarts and works for Barty Crouch. The man was such a stickler for rules that it wasn't a wonder why Percy admires the man.
Around 7pm dinner was ready and everyone was enjoy eating the food that Mrs. Weasley made. It was enjoyable until Percy ruined it by talking nonstop about his boss. Most of it was drowned out by Mrs. Weasley arguing with Bill about his earring. Then there was Fred, George and Charlie talking spiritedly about the World Cup.
"It's got to be Ireland." Charlie said "They flattened Peru in the semifinals."
"Bulgaria has got Viktor Krum, though." Fred said
"Krum's one decent player, Ireland has got seven." Charlie said "I wish England had got through. That was embarrassing, that was."
"What happened?" Harry asked
"Went down to Transylvania, three hundred and ninety to ten." Charlie said gloomily. "Shocking performance. And Wales lost to Uganda, and Scotland was slaughtered by Luxembourg."
When everyone was done with dinner they had enjoyed some homemade strawberry ice cream.
"Look at the time. You really should be in bed, the whole lot of you...you'll be up at the crack of dawn to get to the Cup." Mrs. Weasley said, after checking her wristwatch. "Harry, Vanessa, if you leave your school list out, I'll get your things for you two tomorrow in Diagon Alley. I'm getting everyone else's. There might not be time after the World Cup, the match went on for five days last time."
"Wow...hope it does this time!" Harry said enthusiastically.
"Well, I certainly don't." Percy said sanctimoniously. "I shudder to think what the state of my in-tray would be if I was away from work for five-days."
"Yeah, someone might slip dragon dung in it again, eh, Percy?" Fred said
"That was a sample of fertilizer from Norway!" Percy said, face getting bright red. "It was nothing personal!"
"It was." Fred whispered to Vanessa as they got up from the table. "We sent it."
She did her best not to laugh.
