Eloise Midgen
Ron was strolling through the corridors of Hogwarts, looking for his best mate (or rather soon-to-be former best mate), Harry Potter. Two days had passed by since the first task of the Triwizard Tournament ended and Ron realized that he needed to make amends with Harry. The two had a fight after Harry's name spewed out from the goblet of fire because Ron just accused Harry of cheating his way in for more fame and glory, deliberately ignoring Harry's protests that he never put his name into the goblet nor did he want any fame and glory. Watching Harry facing the hungarian horntail made the youngest Weasley boy realize the reasons why the tournament had been discontinued in the first place. Ron headed outside when he realized that Harry wasn't anywhere inside. When he made it out into the woods, Ron spotted Harry over by some kind of pond and he was accompanied by a girl with shoulder-length dark-brown hair. Ron tiptoed closer and saw that Harry and the girl were feeding a white swan and her cygnets. Harry and the girl turned their attention to Ron when they heard his footsteps, making Ron widen his eyes to see that the girl was Eloise Midgen (remembering that she was quite pimply), a Gryffindor girl in her third year.
"I was looking for you, mate," Ron bluffed, his collywobbles leaking out into his voice. "Just thought I'd apologize for my behaviour these past few weeks."
"Well, you're too late, Ronald," said Harry coldly. "You could've and should've done that the morning after the champion selection. Waiting until now to do that still makes you a coward. You should've taken into account of how hurt I was when you abandoned me, considering everything we went through. I have no use in being friends with a fair-weather person. If Neville, Dean, Hermione, Lee and the rest of my fellow quidditch teammates, including Fred and George, and even Eloise can be by my side despite the rest of our housemates turning against me, you should've done that. If that dragon managed to kill me, you would've lost your chances at making amends. The deadline was before the first task began, the nature of the tournament was enough for you to realize that but you ignored it."
"I knew about your insensitive comment about my pimples, Weasley," Eloise responded, her blue eyes filled with anger. "Even when Harry told me about it and how you didn't even wanna be around me. You didn't think about how upset it made me, but sorry won't cut it. Everybody knows about your insensitivity to other peoples' feelings."
"I came back," Ron asserted. "That's something, isn't it?"
"No!" snapped Harry. "Neville's my best mate now because he was there and did anything he could the way a best mate should be. You've broken my trust Ronald and don't expect to earn it back."
"Besides," Eloise told Ron. "Harry taught me how to do the patronus charm during the time you ignored him."
Eloise cast the charm to prove to Ron that she could. Her corporeal patronus took on the form of a swan, the birds she and Harry were feeding. Ron widened his eyes in shock to see a third-year girl manage to cast a spell better than he could. The Hogwarts students knew that Ron was notorious not only for his terrible manners (including his table manners), but his terrible work ethic and laziness. In other words, Ron would always get jealous when someone did something better than him or if they accomplished something because he felt it was too much work and instead wanted his dreams and desires handed to him on a silver platter. Then Harry cast the patronus to show Ron his corporeal patronus being a stag.
"One of those days I was teaching Eloise the patronus charm," Harry started revealing. "We accidentally kissed each other on the lips, which provided a happy moment powerful enough for us to conjure our respective corporeal patronus forms."
"I think it's time for you to get your just rewards and leave me and Harry be." Eloise told Ron.
The mother swan gave off some kind of call and very quickly, a herd of swans began flying in the direction. Then the herd flew down and began pecking Ron relentlessly as punishment for abandoning Harry in his time of need and for his insensitive comments regarding Eloise's acne. It even made Ron scream like a banshee as he ran away while shielding himself with his arms. The swan that summoned the herd to chase Ron away while pecking him was also honking in amusement as Harry and Eloise laughed. Harry and Eloise went back to interacting with the swan and her cygnets. With Ron dealt with for deserting him, Harry was free from his negative influence and could be with friends willing to be a positive role model. For the first time ever, Harry's luck was taking a turn for the best.
The End!
Author's note: I'd like to give a shoutout to the user 'HufflepuffBadger1978' for suggesting that Eloise learn the patronus charm, that her corporeal patronus form be a swan, and that Eloise show her corporeal patronus form to Ron as her form of punishment for Ron's insensitive comments about her acne problem.
