Buck is back at work but no longer back in the good graces of his family. Besides Hen, everyone else is still bearing a grudge, especially Bobby and Eddie. Buck decides to take a break and go out of town, but what happens when he comes back to find everything is chaos. A switch at the last second, human error, a switched off phone, and relationships forever changed. Buddie.

A routine meeting with Chief Alonzo leaves Bobby reeling about certain aspects of the lawsuit. His eyes are opened to a few simple but harsh truths. Bobby heads back to the station to have a few much needed talks. Later on, there are other necessary conversations. Firefam and Buddie.

After the whole debacle with the lawsuit Buck is shunned from his family and isolated at the firehouse. Fate just piles it on as a route check up turns into waiting on test results to see if he actually has a life threatening illness. Could this be the catalyst to everyone patching things up?
