*Chapter 1: Taken to Arkham City*
Bruce was in his room, wearing a suit and a blue tie. He has a pin on his suit with a Arkham logo with a red X on it. After two days of asking Mia to marry him, Gotham talked about it. Most of Bruce's friends are thrilled for them, yet others are against it. Mostly rich women. But that didn't bother Mia at all. All she does is ignoring the comments from people who thinks she is marrying Bruce for money. Mia only loves him as a person and treats him like how she treats others. That is also one of the reasons why Bruce loves her. Alfred walked in as Bruce is finishing up tying his tie.
"Do you need help sir?" He asked.
"No thanks, Alfred." Bruce said. "Any word from Mia or Axel? I've tried calling them."
"I'm afraid not, sir. But the last thing I hear from Mia is that she and her son were going out for some errands earlier this afternoon." Alfred replied. "I am sure they are fine and will get back to us after your speech."
"I hope so." Bruce said. He turned away from the mirror and face his butler. "Do I look good?"
"Indeed, sir." Alfred replied with a nod. They both walk out of the room and walk down the stairs to get to the main hall.
"Ahhhh!" Mia screamed as she was being shocked. She was strapped on the chair. She is wearing dark blue skinny jeans with black boots, a white top with a dark gray jacket. She was in a room she never recognizes. She isn't alone. She tried to ignore the pain on her neck where she was shocked.
"Good evening, Ms. Harlow." A deep voice said. "I am Professor Hugo Strange." Mia looked up at the man with a glare. This is the man who took charge of Arkham City.
"Where...is...my son?" She asked, breathing hard.
"Alive." Hugo told her. "He is a feisty one. Just like his father. Or perhaps his soon-to-be stepfather?"
"What're you talking about?" Mia asked. Hugo unstraps one of her hands and look at her engagement ring. "You don't know anything! What do you want with me? Let my son go!"
"Oh, I know everything about you, Ms. Harlow." Hugo said. "Your husband was killed in a fire years ago, and killed the one who caused it. You were praised by the criminals who were against William Sanchez. Yet, you regretted it." Mia made a sneer. "And this ring of yours. You are going to marry Bruce Wayne, aren't you?" Mia didn't say anything to him. She really wanted to wipe his smile off his face.

"This is Vicki Vale, reporting live from Arkham City. The controversial super-prison built right here in the heart of Gotham." Vicki said to the camera. She and the others are outside the gates of Arkham City, waiting for Bruce to appear on the stage to give his speech. "In a few moments, Bruce Wayne will be live on stage to explain the sudden interests in Gotham politics. The infamous playboy millionaire has ever been one to-"
"It's billionaire, Vicki." Bruce said, walking pass her. "Millionaires are so last year." The photographers started to take pictures of him as he is walking up the stage. Cameras are on him. "Thank you! Thank you, Gotham!"

"Mr. Wayne will be joining you momentarily." Hugo said as he circles Mia like a stalker. "Such a shame that you two won't be married anytime soon." The woman sneered up at him. He's trying to scare her.
"Fuck you." Mia spat. Hugo shocks her again, making her scream. He will make her watch her tongue.

"In prison behind these walls gang leaders are fighting a bloody war in the middle of our once great city." Bruce spoke, gesturing the gates of Arkham City. "Every inmate from Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison has been relocated to this facility. How can this be safe for the people of Gotham?" He wasn't wrong there. "Today, I'm starting a campaign to close Arkham City and make Gotham safe again!" He said in a strong voice as everyone started to agree. Suddenly, vans arrived at the scene. Men throwing tear gas as everyone started to scatter in fear. The TYGER group aimed their guns at Bruce.
"Wayne! We got Wayne!" One guard said. Bruce brought his hands up, but he was hit by the gun, knocking him out.
"I'll do anything! Just don't get Axel and Bruce involved!" Mia said, recovering from the fifth shock she had tonight. Hugo turned to her and smirked.
"Too late, Ms. Harlow. We already have Bruce Wayne." He said. "You all won't escape this city. But if you try anything, your son will die."
"No!" Mia cried out. She struggles in her chair. "You monster!" Then, the alarms go off.
"Sir! The boy has escaped! He's trying to climb over the fence!" A voice said on the walkie talkie. Mia gasped. Axel got away somehow, but it also means that he will be killed. Hugo unstraps Mia and brought her out of the room. They walk out to see many inmates shouting as the TYGER guards are everywhere. Hugo gripped on Mia's arm as he cuffs her.
"Do not let him escape!" Hugo ordered as he brought Mia with him.
"Don't touch him!" Mia yelled. Then, she turned to see Axel running through the area where the Penguin awaits. "Shit. Axel." Hugo started to chuckle.
"Mr. Cobblepot could take it from there." He said. A guard grabbed Mia's other arm. "I must speak with Mr. Wayne. Bring her to her son. I'd like for her to see the blood." He walked away. Mia struggled.
"Let go of me!" She yelled.
"Shh, stop." A guard whispered in her ear. Mia froze. She recognized that voice.
"Ben?"
"Shh. They'll hear you. I'll try to get you and Axel out." Ben whispered. "Just play along." He pulled her towards outside where the inmates were yelling, looking for a fight. Some of the men whistled at the sight of Mia. A disguised TYGER guard hits the fence, telling them to shut up.
Axel backed up against the garbage cans as Penguin and his goons went up to him. Axel kept his brave face on. He kept looking above the rooftops, looking for Batman, but he was nowhere to be found.
"There is no escape you little stinker!" Penguin said, aiming his umbrella at Axel. "Too bad your mother ain't here!"
"Stay away from him, you asshole!" Mia shouted. Ben brought a gun up, trained at Penguin. "Let him go! Please!"
"Ahh, the nurse is here. Hehehe." Penguin snickered. "Nice of ya to join the party! Soon, I will be seeing that Brucey-boy and I will beat the living crap outta him!" Mia glared at the little man. She couldn't help but to kick him in the face. Penguin let out a yell and held his nose. "Ahh! You bitch!"
"Axel, get out of here! Now!" Mia yelled. The boy looked around and found a ladder. He climbed up to get on the rooftops. The other TYGER guards ran up and see the boy getting away. One brought a gun up. Mia's eyes widened. "NO!"
"Kill the boy!" Penguin shouted. "I want him dead! He's a pain in the arse!"
"Target on sight." One guard said. "Permission to shoot."
"Permission granted." Hugo's voice replied.
"No!" Mia shouted and she ran up to the man, trying to take the gun away as her hands are still cuffed. A gunfire was heard. Axel rolled out of the way as he reached the rooftop of the building. He wasn't shot at least. "Axel! Axel!" Mia called. But the boy didn't move or reply to her. He can't be spotted by the TYGER guards. He needs to find help.
Mia started to cry as the disguised TYGER guard held her back. Ben had to get Mia out of here, but he can't risk getting caught either. He knew Bruce was caught, but won't know if he will survive here. All he knows for sure is that Mia will be kept alive. What did that insane professor want with her?
"Is he dead?" Hugo asked.
"Not sure. He climbed on the roof and I pulled the trigger when the woman grabbed the gun. No response or sight." One of his men replied. "The woman is unharmed as requested."
"If the boy isn't dead, he won't be alive for long out there." Hugo said. "Bring Ms. Harlow back to me."
"Let my fiancee go!" Bruce growled as he was cuffed in his chair. "She had nothing to do with this!"
"She and her son were involved because of you, Mr. Wayne." Hugo told him. "They know your secret. As do I. I feel like I should thank you." He looks straight at Bruce. The rich man could see his reflections on the glasses, glaring at the professor. "Capturing Bruce Wayne is so much easier than Batman. And now that we have you. Protocol Ten is ready to begin. It will be my legacy, a monument to your failure and if you try to stop me, I guarantee everyone will know your secret. And your fiancee will die." He walked out of the room, leaving Bruce alone.
Bruce couldn't believe this. Mia and Axel were captured earlier before he left for a speech. He should've been there for them.

"Ben, you better have a plan. I need to be out there looking for my son." Mia said as she was brought back inside. She sees Jack Ryder up front the gate with another man. "How did you manage to be here without anyone noticing?"
"I'll answer questions later." Ben whispered to her. "Play along, and I promise I'll find a easier way to get you out." Mia's tears fell. She is scared for Axel if he is alive outside of the prison. Hugo appeared by the security gates. Mia looked up to see Bruce coming up and a guard hits him and grabbed him by the back of the neck as the gate made a noise.
"Bruce!" Mia gasped.
"Lower your weapons." Hugo ordered. "Mr. Wayne will not be any trouble. Will you, Mr. Wayne?" Hugo smirked. "The cuffs can stay on. We don't want to make things too easy, do we?" Bruce was pushed forward, but Mia rushed over to him. Ben remained at his spot and acted like he is part of the group. The gate wasn't shut as Mia looked up at Bruce.
"Bruce, are you okay?" Mia asked, grabbing his jacket.
"I should be asking you the same thing. What have they done to you?" Bruce asked, barely cupping her face. "Where's Axel?"
"I...I don't know. He better be alive out there." Mia said. "They just broke in and took us away, arresting us. But, Strange has plans."
"Listen to me, I don't want to lose you. Do what Strange says from now on. I'll get us both out of here." He said.
"I would not count on it." Hugo said as he dragged Mia away.
"No! Please!" Mia begged as the guards took her away. "Bruce!" The gates are shut. Bruce turned, preparing for a fight with the prisoners. Hugo may threaten him about killing Mia, but something tells him that Hugo will keep her alive. He is planning something for Mia.
Axel started to shiver as he was on the grounds of Arkham City. But he can't slow down as he walks down the streets, avoiding any prisoners. He ran whenever he hears yelling or gunfire, he hides from any of the thugs who work for Penguin. Axel doesn't know where to go. The gates of Arkham City were shut tight, and he doesn't have anything to contact Batman or Alfred. He is trapped.
"Okay. Don't panic." He told himself, rubbing his arms. "Where should I go?" He looks around for any safe place to stay in. A helicopter flew across the city. Axel then spotted the old police department. "Please be empty and warm." He said as he ran down the streets, putting on a hoodie.

Axel managed to make it to the old GCPD building by crawling under the overhang door. But he noticed it was colder inside. He wandered in the building, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Is it colder inside than it was outside?" He wondered as he walked through the door. Axel froze as he entered the office, filled with blue crystals. "No way." Then, a freeze ray was pointed at the back of his head. Axel gasped, but didn't move. He slowly, shakenly, raise his hands up. "Well this is no better." He said, trying to keep his teeth from chattering.
"Turn around. Slowly." A voice demanded. It sounded cold. Axel turned his head back and couldn't believe what he is seeing right before him. It was Mr. Freeze. Now Axel is really in for it.
