In as much of a nutshell as I can manage (I can be a little long-winded at times), everything about me that I feel comfortable sharing with you. So, the basics: My name's Lindsay, I'm Dutch and 29 years of age. But don't let the number fool you, I can still be incredibly immature and have come to terms with the fact that I will always remain a kid at heart. This shows in the fact that I sort through skittles and only eat the red ones, run outside excitedly at the first sight of snow, and stubbornly holds on to the belief that UFOs do exist.

Despite that, I also have a very serious side to me and an academic mindset. The American English language and culture have always fascinated me and have been as passion of mine from a very young age. I've written stories in English for as long as I can remember, grown up with American English, and speak it more fluently than I do my mother tongue. So, I have a preference and feel drawn to a certain language and culture, who doesn't? As a result, I also got my BA and MA in English Language and Culture and American Studies. And although I thoroughly enjoyed my college experience, finding a job afterwards in a Dutch speaking country was harder than I thought it would be. Much harder. Because of this I had to resort to plan B, which was to go to school for an extra year and get my teaching degree, teaching English, what else. So far, I like it a lot more than I had anticipated.

Besides school, I also have a life, a life that includes big chunks and large doses of the American language and popular culture daily.

-- I write, as much as I can when I can.
-- Music is what I listen to whenever I can and I still buy CDs. My collection of R&B and pop is quite an impressive one, even if I do say so myself.
-- Television shows are what I am addicted to and then order on Amazon so I can watch them over and over again. The good, the bad, and the guilty pleasures, I can't resist most of them.
-- And I read every night before I go to sleep, usually while watching one of those TV-shows, but just because I have seen them before. I read fast (a side effect from deciding to take 3 literature classes in one semester) and everything from literature to young adult fiction.
-- Fanfiction is what I turn to for my own creative outlet, but also when I finished watching a TV-show or reading a book and can't get enough of a certain pairing.
