Avid fanfiction reader and writer here. I've been writing on and off for close to twenty years by now. Even though I'm German, I've been writing my stories in English since I was fifteen or so. Needless to say, the first attempts were terrible, but I'd like to think that in fifteen years of writing in English I improved a lot.

My journey started with NCIS back in the day (under an old account), evolved to NCIS: LA at some point, but my undivided attention is on the One Chicago franchise right now. Chicago PD is the one I'm most obsessed with, so that's what my stories focus on.

Writers are actors on paper. - This is a sentiment that I firmly believe in and live by as an author. When I write my characters I dive deep into their personalities, what they are going through, what they might think and feel in certain events and circumstances. It's like playing this role as I write it, so it's really not that different from playing a role on screen, only without the camera roll. For me, that's very important in the process of writing something because if I don't think and feel the same way as the character I'm writing in that moment, I don't believe I can portray them in a believable and realistic way. This might not apply to every author out there, in fact it might be very different for the majority of writers, but for me it's essentially what writing is about.
