Horace was not her catch, but she was always very much his: far younger than he would ever have again; far prettier than he deserved; far more practised than she would care to admit. As Poppy learnt, older men have a way of appreciating younger women that one can, with effort, prize above their aesthetic preferences. Or, Horace is back, and Poppy is forced to remember the past.
