Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 38
The next morning Derek woke up and smiled down at his wife, his wife, ohhh how he would never tire of saying or hearing those words, his wife and now as he laid looking down at her he realized just how beautiful she indeed was. She opened her eyes and said, "morning", he said, "good morning Mrs. Morgan, how did you sleep"?, she smiled and said, "heavenly hotstuff, heavenly" as his lips descended down on hers.
When they pulled apart he said, "Merry Christmas", she said, "Merry Christmas to you too my love" as she caressed his cheek, he sighed happily and said, "can you believe it, we're married, us, you and me we're finally married". She laughed and said, "it all feels like a dream, especially last night, you, my love were amazing last night, you were like the energizer bunny, you kept going and going and going" causing him to laugh as she kissed him.
He glanced at his watch and said, "we better get up and get dressed, we've got to be at mommas soon", she bit down on her bottom lip and said, "how about we grab a quick shower before we get dressed"?, he said, "have I created a monster"?, she said, "you have Mr. Morgan you certainly have" and he then watched as she threw the covers back and ran from the bed.
He grinned and said, "I'm gonna get you", she said, "if you catch me you can have me" and he said, "ohhh I love those stakes" and took off running behind her causing her to squeal. They made love in the shower twice before drying off and getting dressed so they could head over to Frans for a huge Christmas dinner with their family and friends.
Fran and the girls were in the kitchen getting ready to take up dinner when Derek and Penelope came through the front door, she looked up and said, "Merry Christmas kids" and they smiled and said, "Merry Christmas". They took off their coats and made their way to join the others and Dave said, "for a few minutes we didn't think the two of you were going to be here".
Derek said, "of course we'd be here, this is Christmas and Christmas is the time of year that you spend with the people that you love and their is nobody that I love more than the people in this room". T-bone high fived Derek and said, "Merry Christmas man", he looked at Penelope and said, "and Merry Christmas to you too Penelope" causing her to giggle and say, "Merry Christmas to you too T" as she threw her arms around him and hugged him.
Fran clapped her hands and said, "now that the entire family is here we can eat", everybody clapped their hands and smiled as they watched Fran, Desi, Von and Sarah carry in the food. Derek said, "you need any help momma", she said, "no baby, we're good, we're good" as she sat the last food platter on the table.
As she stood at the front of the table she said, "I would like to give grace today", everybody held hands as she said, "this Christmas is special, it's special because we have two new members, we have my daughter-in-law Penelope and my soon to be husband David Rossi and our family is so much richer with you two in it", Derek grinned and said, "amen momma, amen".
Fran said, "I am so thankful to get to have another Christmas with my family, we've had a rough year but we're here and stronger than ever and I pray that this coming year and every year after is prosperous for us all and that we all have good health and are able to be together again next year and every year after that for a long, long time, Amen" and everybody said, "AMEN" Fran grinned and said, "alright let's eattttttttt" and started pjassing the platters around.
Over the next several hours everybody had a great time together, eating, laughing, remembering Christmas's past and talking about the future and how they too hoped that they would all be together for a long long time. The adults were all laughing and talking in the dining room when the children started squealing in the living room, they all ran through the house thinking that something was wrong but it turned out to be snowing.
Penelope said, "ohhhh look angel fish it's snowing, it's snowing", Derek wrapped his arms around her and said, "this is great, we're married, it's Christmas and it's snowing, what more could a man ask for"?, Fran leaned in to Dave and said, "grandbabies" causing him to laugh and nod his head yes in agreement.
The later it started getting the more and more snow was falling and Dave said, "it looks pretty bad out there", Sarah came into the kitchen and said, "what turned into flurries has turned into a blizzard and they are advising that we stay off of the roads". Fran stood up and clapped her hands and said, "alright it looks like we are going to be having one big giant slumber party" and the kids said, "yessssssssssss" and Fran looked at her girls and said, "alright let's get things set up for later so that everybody will have a place to sleep tonight".
Derek leaned in and kissed his wife on the lips and said, "Merry Christmas baby girll", she said, "Merry Christmas my love" and as the night drew on and the later it got the more fun they were having. Soon it was time to go to bed and everybody had a place to sleep and plenty of cover to keep them warm and before she turned in for the night Fran said for the final time that night, "MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY".
Everybody turned and looked at each other and at her and said in unison, "MERRY CHRISTMAS" causing a huge smile to grace Fran Morgan's face as she headed off to bed on Christmas night because she was surrounded by the people she loved more than anything in the world.
