Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 41
Over the next several months item after item on Derek's to-do list were getting checked off and he was glad because it was getting closer and closer to Penelope's due date. They had decided to wait to be surprised on the sex of their baby when he or she was born even though several members of the family had tried to get them to find out.
Penelope's pregnancy had gone amazingly well with her very rarely being nauseated during the first trimester right down to no swelling to her hands and feet. Derek still rubbed her feet for her every night when they got home from work, a thing that she had grown accustomed to and was totally spoiled by.
During the summer Derek, Penelope and the rest of the team flew to Chicago for Dave and Frans wedding and then Dave had taken her to Hawaii for a two week honeymoon. While Derek and Penelope were in Chicago they had managed to talk T and Charlotte into coming to Virginia for a visit and when they got there they loved it so good that they bought the house across the street from Derek and Penelope.
Penelope loved having Charlotte so close, they could visit and she loved having girls nights with all of her girlies there with her, especially now that she was pregnant. The girls had all thrown her an amazing baby shower and she got anything and everything she would ever need for the baby, she still couldn't believe all of the stuff she had gotten.
The team was still staying busy with cases and now that Penelope was on maternity leave she still was able to talk Derek into letting her help them with cases when they really needed it. Thanksgiving was now less than a week away and Penelope was 2 weeks late and feeling every minute of it.
They had decided to go ahead with the family dinner and hope for the best, so far Penelope wasn't showing any signs of going into labor and she had tried everything that anybody would tell her and still nada, nothing, no baby.
Monday came and no baby, Tuesday came and no baby, Wednesday came and once again no baby so they figured that they would be okay with Thanksgiving. Penelope was now sitting in the living room on Fran and Dave's couch watching tv or trying to anyway she kept getting distracted by a little pain in her back.
Derek would come into the room and ask her if their was anything he could do for her and she said, "yeah make me go into labor" and he said, "what can I do sweetness, we make love like 10 times a day and still nothing, well not nothing the sex is amazinggggg but no baby is what I meant".
Penelope laughed and said, "I love you hotstuff", he said, "and I love you" and leaned over and pressed his lips gently against hers in a kiss. When they pulled apart she said, "can you help me up please, I want to try to walk around a little after I go pee", he held out his hand and said, "uppppppp you go" and as she stood a warm bloody liquid flooded her feet.
Derek said, "uhhhh baby girl", she said, "no I didn't pee on myself Derek, my water broke", then it hit her what she had just said and she screamed, "MY WATER JUST BROKE, MY WATER JUST BROKE" and it was only a few seconds before Fran, JJ, Emily and Reid were by her side.
Fran said, "alright let's get you changed and get you to the hospital" and as she took a step she grabbed her stomach and doubled over in pain. Fran said, "have you been having pains today sweetie"?, Penelope bit down on her bottom lip and said, "just in my back, I didn't think it was labor though".
JJ looked at Fran and Fran said, "let's check you out and see how far along you are okay"?, Penelope nodded her head yes as Reid and Derek helped her lay down. She raised Penelope's skirt and said, "oh honey we don't have time to get you to the hospital, that baby is crowning, he or she is ready to meet you".
Derek said, "what do we need to do"?, Fran said, "first we'll get her upstairs and get her settled, then we'll call her OB and then the medics and see how long it's going to take them to get here". Derek and Reid helped her upstairs while JJ called her OB and Emily called the medics, it seemed that baby Morgan was going to e as stubborn as his or her parents.
