42. Chapter 42

Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 42

After getting Penelope upstairs JJ and Emily got her changed and dry and then put her on the bed where Derek helped her get comfortable, or as comfortable as she could anyway. Fran had then asked JJ and Emily to go get her a few things as she worked to get everything else ready so that she could help bring her first grandchild into the world.

Meanwhile downstairs Charlotte, Sarah and Desi were working on and watching dinner while Dave was on the lookout for the paramedics but he knew that they wouldn't make it on time because of the 5 car accident on the freeway, all emergency vehicles were dispatched there.

Penelope however was in the capable hands of Fran who had been a nurse for years and years and Reid who had delivered several children out in the field during cases. Penelope wasn't worry a bit, she was anxious to have this baby so that she could hold it and kiss it the way she had been dreaming about doing since she found out she was pregnant.

Now Fran was ready to deliver this baby and she could tell by the exhausted look on Penelope's face that she was more than ready too bring her son or daughter into this world. Derek was behind her on the bed and she was laying with her back against his chest and stomach and she was holding his hands and getting ready to push on the next contraction.

Penelope squeezed Derek's hands and pushed and pushed until Fran told her to relax and then she collapsed against her husband, who kissed the top of her head and said, "you're doing so good baby girl, so so good" and Penelope said, "I love you Derek", he said, "and I love you to baby girl".

It was only a few seconds after that when she was hit with another conrraction and this one was so strong that she almost shot off the bed from the pain. Derek held her hands and counted for her and then when he reached 1 Fran told her to relax and she did for a few seconds until she was hit with another painful contraction.

Fran looked up at her and said, "on the next contraction we're going to deliver the head okay"?, Penelope nodded her head and bit down on her bottom lip as she felt another contraction starting. She squeezed Derek's hands and pushed and pushed and when Fran told her to relax she stopped pushing and fell against Derek and blew out a deep breath.

Derek said, "how's it going momma"?, Fran said, "good, the head is out and on the next contraction we're going to deliver the shoulders" and Penelope said, "here it comes, here it comessssss" as she was hit with the strongest contraction so far.

After the shoulders were half way out Fran said, "keep pushing honey, that's it, that's it" and then she stopped pushing when the cries of her baby filled the room.
