Hermione and Draco sat out in the garden, Hermione quietly casting a glamor charm on her neck. Draco peered at her from over his paper.

"I told you to leave if things get bad."

"Who's to say they got bad?"

He folded his paper and put it on the bench beside him, knocking a bit of snow off the bench. He looked at her, his nose turned up a bit.

"Are you aware that she can kill you?"

"She won't. She can't, and it pisses her off."

Draco raised his eyebrow as he saw a strange glint in her eyes. He lent forward a bit and lowered his voice.

"Granger, you enjoyed it didn't you?"

"What, of course not."

"Are you scared?"

"Well no…"

"Not even knowing you're about to be sitting across from her at a table?"

"No…"

Hermione turned a light shade of red at Draco's questions and he threw his head back and let out a good laugh.

"Wow, Granger! I never would have guessed you were that kind of person."

"Stop it Draco."

She huffed, scooping up a snowball and throwing it at him, hitting him in the chest. He looked stunned at first but then got up and scooped up his own. Hermione got up and backed up further into the garden. Draco threw it only for Hermione to block it with a flick of her wand. The two of them began to run through the back garden pelting each other with snowballs. Bellatrix watched with Narcissa at the kitchen window.

"See. It must be wrong if anything she would be perfect for Draco. They seem to enjoy eachothers company."

"Believe me Bella, Draco won't enjoy her company like that."

Narcissa giggled at her sister's dumbfounded expression.

"Never mind I guess not."

Bellatrix sipped her firewhiskey and watched the two running from each other. Two hours remained until dinner and Narcissa was actually cooking for once which took Bellatrix by surprise. Bella looked at her sister from the corner of her eye to see her staring and smiling.

"What is it cissy…"

"She's alot like you. Top of her class, brightest witch of her age. You could just try to get to know her Bella."

Bellatrix looked back out the window in time to see Hermione tackle Draco to the ground before running off again. He stumbled grabbing a huge armful of snow and ran after her.

"She is a pretty little thing isn't she Cissy."

Narcissa smiled while stirring a pot of vegetables.

"Does that mean you'll try?"

"She's Potter's friend, she will get in my way when the Dark Lord lets me go on missions again. Especially now that she knows I can't hurt her."

"Do you care if she does. Each mission has an objective. Potter is to stay alive until the Dark Lord chooses to kill him himself. I really see no reason she can't protect her friends without missing your objective."

"The prophecy says that our bond will end the Dark Lord. I can't do that. I-"

Narcissa slammed the spoon she was using down on the counter and turned to her sister.

"No. You do not love Tom. Your misguided obsession with him drug our family into his little sideshow. You don't love him and you know it, your afraid of him… how did you feel the night he made you torture the Longbottoms? Neither Tom or your husband told you little Neville was in the other room. You were crushed. I remember you came here and surrendered when they came to get you. You are not like them Bella."

Bellatrix lowered her head, trying to hide her eyes. She stifled a bit and downed the rest of her drink and left the room. Narcissa rolled her eyes, throwing her head back. She instantly regretted her rant.

"Bella, I'm sorry."

There was no answer and Narcissa wiped a tear from her eyes and continued making dinner as she looked out the window to see the two younger wizards panting out of exhaustion and laughing.

Bellatrix made her way up to her room and unlaced her boots, kicking them across the room and falling onto her bed. She was tired of fighting with her sister. Though she knew she was hitting the nail on the head she still struggled with her own thoughts. She couldn't wrap her mind around the words that orb spouted. They fell like poison on her ears.

She rolled over on her stomach pulling a pillow underneath her chin. She thought of how Narcissa was just trying to help and how the mudblood even seemed somewhat willing to try. She hadn't lied to her sister. She did find her quite pretty, quiet though.

Bellatrix sighed and closed her eyes and thought of what she should do. It felt wrong to go against her Lord but could she really stop it? If she went along with it would he kill her? Would such a straight laced girl even think of being with someone as sadistic as her? She lay there deep in her thoughts and drifted off to sleep.

A bit later she was woken by a knock on the door and the sound of it creaking open a bit. She groaned and Hermione's voice came from the other side of the door.

"Bellatrix, Narcissa sent me to tell you dinner will be ready in thirty minutes."

Bellatrix stared into the darkness of her room in silence, thinking to herself. Hermione waited a bit for a reply before she started to close the door. Just as the door was almost latched she heard Bellatrix speak softly.

"Come here pet."

Hermione's body went rigid as she opened the door and entered slowly.

"Close the door."

Hermione did as she was asked and Bellatrix, without a wand, raised her hand and the fire came to life. With the room lit in a dull orange light Hermione could see a Defeated looking Bellatrix sitting on her bed.

Bellatrix lightly patted the spot in front of her, signaling for Hermione to sit on the bed. When Hermione finally sat down Bellatrix looked at her studying her face.

"What is your pan with all of this, pet?"

"I don't have a plan, I agreed to see where this goes."

Bellatrix tilted her head and narrowed her eyes at the young witch.

"My sister put you up to this then?"

"No it was my choice."

Hermione's shoulders tightened more than she ever thought possible. She was terrified but determined not to show it. Her heart pounded when Bellatrix smiled.

"Your thoughts are a mess pet. Calm down I'm not going to hurt you, at least not until we make our choices."

"Oh...thank you."

"Don't thank me, I am not yet ready to decide. For Narcissa, I'm willing to try. But for the meantime I should make this clear…"

She lent closer to Hermione, making her shake.

"Since we seem to share a fate. You should think wisely about helping your friends, or just stay out of it at all."

"What is going to happen?"

Bellatrix seemed to playfully mock her.

"Awe, I'm sorry that's all the time we have I'm afraid, maybe next time I'll tell you more."

Hermione gave her an unamused look but it quickly faded into confusion as Bellatrix inched closer. Bellatrix brought her face within inches of the other girl's stopping just where she could feel her shaky breath.

Some part of the deatheater's mind wanted answers while the other part was screaming that it was wrong and she wanted to fight it so bad. She hesitated thinking of consequences that could come from even touching her but her thirst for answers won over as she lightly pressed her lips onto Hermione's.

Hermione returned the kiss briefly before quickly pulling back and running from the room, leaving Bellatrix with a content grin. If she was going to try this out she was going to have a bit of fun.
