Finally getting herself together, she came stealthily out of the bathroom. Just then, she met Alya.

"Way to disappear forever. Kagami's been looking everywhere for you."

"You know Ladybug had to make an appearance." She explained and Alya nodded. "I think you should go find her, it seemed pretty serious." Marinette nodded and left to look for the dark haired girl.

"Marinette.." She turned to the sound of her name. Seems like Kagami had found her first. She was dancing with Adrien and she gulped painfully seeing them together but still walked over to them.

Kagami slid her hands off Adrien and removed his off her, "Thank goodness I found you, Marinette, I really need to go somewhere right now. Could you dance with Adrien for me?"

"What‽" Marinette was shocked and Adrien mirrored her expression too. "You..you want me to dance with him?" She could feel elephants dancing in her stomach, butterflies would be an understatement.

"Yup." Kagami guided Adrien's hand to Marinette's waist and positioned hers around his neck, "There. Perfect."

Marinette's mouth was wide open in shock and she blushed at being so close to him. Damn her pounding heart, 5 seconds ago she was totally simping for Catnoir.

"Kay then. Dance away, you two, I'll be back in a bit." She smiled softly at their red cheeks and pushed them even closer. She had a smirk on her face as she walked away.

Adrien was sure he wasn't breathing, his heart was running miles and his brain was slowly malfunctioning. She was so close and she was taking his breath away. His chest burned even more as he took a whiff of her scent. Sweet scent of strawberries, cinnamon and a blend of vanilla. It clouded his senses.

"Sorry, you don't have to if you're not comfortable." He looked down at her and was immediately entranced by the sparkle in her eye. "N-No! I mean, no p-problem, it's cute- cool! Cool! I mean it's okay." Her cheeks were even darker matching his.

And there again with the stupid stutters, she internally groaned but her thoughts were cut short as he slid his hands further around her waist till she was completely pushed against his chest. She was almost wheezing but eventually rested into his warmth as they started swaying to the music.

"Five more slow songs." She requested taking the DJ by surprise.

"That's a lot." Alya who just approached Nino at the music stand responded, making Kagami look up at her.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to set up my best friend with your boyfriend." Alya joked and Kagami smiled. She turned around to where they danced in each other's embrace. "They're both so clueless, I'm sure we need more than 5 slow songs."

Nino and Alya's jaw dropped in shock. "Wait a minute! You ARE trying to set up my best friend with you boyfriend." She exclaimed in shock, "B..but...?"

"Let's be realistic. Neither fate nor destiny can come between them, I was no different." She shrugged casually surprising them even more. "I just need Adrien to realize his feelings for her and once he does that, I'll break up with him. But I've been trying for a while and nothing's worked."

"Well dudette, you've got extra help now." Nino reiterated and Alya nodded. "So...you guys up for Operation Adrienette?" Alya stuck out her fist to them.

"Ship names already?"

"Just bump my fist already."

They shared a fist bump and looked over to where they danced.

"You're right tho. Knowing them, five slow songs are definitely not enough."

"I might have an idea." Kagami pitched in.

The songs were never ending. Not that he minded, it felt amazing to hold her in his arms. Her warmth was everything.

What exactly was wrong with him? He was dating Kagami, earlier he was so entranced by Ladybug and now here he was... loving how perfectly Marinette fit in his arms. Loving how his pulse quickened at their proximity, how every movement, every dance step seemed like they'd walked a thousand worlds together.

Crush? Nah..Heck,no. He felt something way deeper for Marinette. She made his heart burn.

The lights slowly faded and the place lighted up with a different type of light. A soft blend of pink making the setting extremely romantic. The song changed again to something more classic but heavy on romance.

He lowered his head till his lips slightly brushed her earlobe making her shiver at the heat. "Want to stop?" He murmured and chills raced her spine. She didn't trust herself to form coherent words so she simply nodded in negation.

He slowly withdrew from her and spun her around, pulling her back into his firm hold. "Good." He muttered, his breath all over her face.

"You?" She asked back in a whisper, their eyes never leaving the other's. If there was anything better than what she was feeling wrapped up in his arms, then that thing didn't exist. "Never." He breathed and her heart pounded erratically.

He slowly rested his forehead on hers as they continued to sway to the music.

She closed her eyes when she couldn't look anymore. She was losing it and the thoughts running in her mind as she stared into his eyes were scary so she closed her eyes. It was even difficult to breathe with his hot breath heating up her cheeks.

He cupped her cheeks with his free hand when she closed her eyes. He didn't want her to, he wanted to see her blue orbs sparkle. He rubbed her cheek with the pad of his finger. Pink dusted her cheeks, freckles perfectly splayed, he had to take in a breath. She was beautiful.

"Open your eyes." He ran his thumb across her cheeks making her shiver.

Her eyes slowly fluttered open to meet his beautiful green. He couldn't think anymore. When had they gotten so close? Their breaths mixed and the atmosphere around them thick with high emotions.

What neither of them knew was that they were right in the middle of the dance floor. Most couples seized dancing to watch them and cleared the way so they were the center of attraction. Alya had her phone up filming the pair. She knew Marinette would flip when she saw it and besides she was expecting a big romantic finishing act and a new couple by the next week at school.

The moment went on, his hand on her waist pulling her ever so closer. He lost his reasoning staring deep in her eyes, the blue nearly making him dizzy like he was under some spell.

"Marinette." He whispered softly as his fingers trailed her cheeks slowly approaching her lips. The thought of kissing her made his knees tremble.

"Adrien.." She whispered back as his thumb traced her lower lip, back and forth. She closed her eyes memorizing his touch while his eyes roamed her face, mentally implanting her features in his head.

He leaned in all the way til it was only a small separation between their lips. She felt his breath close and he lifted her chin so it was merely an inch between them.

He hesitated but looking down at her lips, he threw care to the wind. He wanted to taste her lips. In that moment, he lost all thought and close the gap as his lips brushed hers lightly.

"Marinette.." He whispered against her lips. His breathing was heavy, thick with emotion, almost ragged.

The sound of her name from his mouth was enough to pull her out of whatever trance she was in.

"A-Adrien...A..Adrien, w-we...we can't." She spoke against his lips. "We can't do this." She managed to say but her actions told otherwise as she let him take her lips in his. She pulled away in a split second. The best millisecond of their lives.

"Why?" He looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Y.. You're w-with her a-and I..I.." She tried to form words but they caught in her throat. "You what?"

"I'm in love with someone else."

It took just that. It took just those words to get his heart run over by a train. He snapped out of his trance and pulled away from her immediately.

As if on cue, the music stopped, the normal lights were back on and she was mortified seeing that they were the center of attraction.

"Ma.. Marinette, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have..." He whispered, looking for the words.

"I don't know what made me do that." Lies. He did. He knew exactly why. But he couldn't say. She was in love with someone else and it hurt so much that he didn't notice her hurt expression at his words.

"I..I understand.." She choked out, "It's okay, it was probably the moment. I..uh..I should go." She blinked back tears and rushed off before he'd get the chance to call her back. He reached out his arm to her but she was far gone.

"What are you waiting for? Go after her!" A random person in the crowd yelled and in a heartbeat, he did.

Her mind was scattered, her heart beating wildly, her brain racing with thoughts. The emotions clogged up in her throat and spilled as tears. She kept running till she was at the entrance of the building.

Adrien just tried to kiss her? And then he admitted it was a mistake? Even funnier, she turned him down for... Catnoir? She did the right thing, didn't she? If she didn't stop him, she'd lose her friendship with Kagami, if she hadn't already and things would be awkward between them if they weren't already.

Why was everything so complicated?

"Marinette, I think you should clear your head."

"Spots on!"

He ran after her. Rushing out as fast as he could. In no time, he was out of the building but she was no where in sight. He groaned. He knew he messed up. He should have said the truth. He was going to kiss her because she was driving him crazy. The best kind of crazy.

"Dance was wonderful, don't you think?" He stiffened at the sound of her voice. He internally panicked, how could he have forgotten?

He turned to her feeling guilty. For someone who's boyfriend nearly kissed her friend in front of almost half of Paris, she was doing pretty well. He felt somewhat relieved that Kagami wasn't mad but it still didn't justify him.

"Kagami, I'm so.. so... sorry. I know that sorry won't-"

"I'll say. Why didn't you chase her faster? She'd be far gone by now." She walked closer to him and Adrien could only look at her bewildered.

"You...You want me to go after... Marinette?"

"Well.. everyone knew you both loved each other, except well..you both. And yes, I'm officially breaking up with you now that you've finally realized it." He still blinked trying to process her words but he selected only a few to ponder on.

"Marinette's in love with me?" Kagami chuckled, "You didn't know?"

He nodded in negation. Then why did she reject him?

"You only find true love once, Adrien." She placed her hand on his shoulder, "Don't dare let her go."

"T-Thank you, Kagami."

"What do I do, Plagg?" He flopped onto the bed. "How can I feel the exact same way for two different girls?"

"I'm just so confused...I want Marinette but there's Ladybug and ugh..." He groaned and ran his frustrated fingers through his face.

Plagg munched on his cheese, sitting down on his desk. He'd been listening to Adrien ramble, well ignoring him for what seemed like an hour since they got home. If only he could scream that it was the same girl but it wasn't his secret to tell.

"If I help you, will you shut up?" Plagg scarfed down his last wheel and flew over to the blonde. "I guess?"

Plagg hovered over Adrien with two pieces of cheese. "Okay so this is Marinette and this is Ladybug." He gestured to each piece of cheese. "Eww! No!"

"You want my help or not?" Adrien sighed and Plagg nodded, "Good." He lifted one piece higher. "So now, tell me. What do you feel when you're with Ladybug?"

Adrien thought for a while before replying, "I feel amazing. She's amazing." He gushed, "I know I'm in love with her and every second proves it. Her beauty, bravery, kindness, uniqueness, everything about her takes my breath away. I just can't let go."

"And Marinette?" This time he lifted the second piece.

This time Adrien didn't think, he just smiled remembering earlier at the dance. "Warmth. She feels so warm and it's like she sets my heart on fire." He said mindlessly, "I feel extremely happy. It's a different feeling all over again holding her in my arms. My mind stops working when she's close. Marinette drives me to a point beyond crazy. She makes me complete, she feels like..." He paused for a while looking for the best word to describe it. "Like home..."

Plagg was speechless for the next few seconds before clearing his throat. "Well you're really an idiot if you don't know who to choose."

"I know." He placed his hand on his chest, "I'm in love with Marinette." And he knew...he'd do anything to get her to be in his arms.
