Dear Diary

I had the pleasure of meeting up with an old friend at the airfield recently, called in by the Group Captain because of a missing airman; while I was discussing the case Jack appeared about a dead woman outside the perimeter fence.

Daggers, I'm sure I saw daggers between Jack and the GC, Jack seemed jealous – he called me Mata Hari ... it seemed the 2 cases were connected, and they were. My missing airman and the dead woman were one and the same!

My feminine wiles did manage to get me and Jack into the base to find further evidence even though it was quite obvious that things were being covered up. The GC became difficult but he did ask his aide to give me a full tour of the base, wherever I wanted to go, whatever I wanted to know.

Jack and Lyle (the GC) were jealous of each other, it came off them in waves. Lyle wanted to relive an escapade in Madagascar but really it wasn't my best move, you know I have feelings for Jack I don't think I have ever really had for a man, I suppose father and Rene rather knocked that out of me, but Jack is different and I didn't want him to fight Lyle for me – I suppose appearing in just my lingerie and Lyle's coat at the fence was not the best move, and it hurt watching him walk away.

When I got home, having identified the quote in the scrap of paper by the woman's body (she had acquired a name, Virginia Forbes) I also worked out that she was the missing airman and Mac confirmed it, she also confirmed that Virginia was being poisoned with ricin in her cigarettes.

I have the most amazing household, just through a little conversation with Dot and Mr B it also transpired Lyle's aide worked for the Chemical Weapons Service during the war, we might be able to answer the question of the poisoned cigarettes that were found and lifted from beside Virginia's body It was all so convoluted, sabotage of the air force, murder, treason and a final chase with Jack on a motorbike and me in a place.

I found poisoned bullets in the aides office, he was the one who killed Virginia because he believed her to be a him and having a homosexual relationship with another airman.

The GC didn't tell me everything about who was doing what, who was who and in a way he used me.

I wish Jack knew how much of a hero to me he is, saving me over and over again and not necessarily from obvious threats, but sometimes from myself.
