Bakugo entered the room quietly. He walked over to the chair and removed his backpack, placing it on the floor beside him. Katsuki was surprised to find the teen alone in the room. He sat down in the chair, turning his attention to Izuku.
The boy slept seemingly peacefully. He leaned forward in his chair, lightly pressing his hand to Izuku's head, feeling relieved that the boy's fever had come down a bit. He took hold of the remote that lay beside Izuku, turning on the tv. Bakugo didn't care what was on. There was something about the hospital that made him feel ill at ease. He would use the sound as a distraction.

Katsuki waited for several minutes, his eyes locked on Izuku. When the boy didn't stir, he began rummaging through his bag, removing a small thermos with All Might's likeness printed on it, and placed it on the over bed table.

"Come on, Deku, I don't have all night." He grumbled at the sleeping teen. "I've got stuff to do. I can't just sit around here all damn day." Even as the harsh words left him, Bakugo found himself fixing the blanket around Deku. He noticed that the water pitcher was empty and sighed.

He exited the room, turning down the hall until he came to the vending machines and pulled out his wallet, inserting the money and selecting a bottle of water. Katsuki repeated the action until he had three. He made his way back to Izuku's room, pouring two of them into the container.
He sat back in his chair, leaning his head against the cushion. Deku's eyes slowly began to open.

"Kacchan?" Izuku called out sleepily. "What are you doing here?"

"About time you got up," Katsuki replied, ignoring the question.

"Is everything okay? What time is it?"

"I'm not your personal watch, Nerd. You wanna know, you figure it out. I thought I told you to stop asking me that." The blond growled.

You did. I didn't think I'd see you back here. You can't expect me to stop caring, you know. I know you don't like it, but that's who I am."Izuku said. Bakugo sighed heavily, reaching for the remote and turning off the tv.

"Sometimes you care too damn much, Deku. That's what gets you hurt."Katsuki replied. "If you get yourself killed, how the hell am I supposed to kick your ass?"

"I-I mean, you could still do it, I guess. If you really wanted to, I just would be able to-"

"What good's that gonna do me?" Izuku shrugged weakly.

"Not much, but it's possible."

"Shut up, Nerd. You feeling any better?"

"I guess. I still don't feel great, but the doctor said if I can get stronger, I can work on getting out of bed. I'm ready to be up, but my body doesn't seem like it's ready to go along with me."

"Then you're gonna need to start giving it something to work with, don't you think?" Bakugo

"What do you mean?" Izuku questioned, watching the blond reach over to the thermos on the table.

"Do you really think your mom doesn't talk to mine? I heard about you giving everyone a hard time today and when they tried at dinner. What's going on, Deku?"Izuku turned his head away from his rival.

"I-I don't know." He said softly.

"The hell you don't." Bakugo countered. "Come on, Nerd, what's your problem?"

"The chicken broth makes me feel sick. I did try it a couple of times, and I still can't eat it." Bakugo scoffed.

" What was it that made you sick?"Bakugo inquired.

"I'm not sure. I just couldn't handle it. It was terrible."

'That's why I don't eat hospital food." Katsuki twisted the lid off of the thermos and poured the liquid into it. "We're gonna do this the same way we got you to drink water, small sips," he instructed. Izuku shook his head.

"I don't know, Kacchan. It's not going to be good for me to throw up after the surgeries I've had."

"I'm not your mom, Nerd. I'm not going to make it easy for you to get your way on this. You'll be fine. small, slow sips." Bakugo repeated, holding the lid out to his rival. Izuku hesitated but reluctantly complied. He was surprised to find the broth easier to handle than what had been offered earlier in the day.

"I don't know how you screw up something broth, but the people here have messing with food down to an art. I think bad food's their quirk." Izuku chuckled softly at Katsuki's words. "I didn't put much in here. I want you to work on drinking what you can. It'll stay warm in here for a while, so take a break if you need to." Katsuki replaced the lid and set the thermos on the overbed table, taking hold of the backpack and offering it to his former friend. "At least now you can tell your mom you had something. Where'd you ship her off to anyway? Thought she'd be hanging around."

"She'll be back soon. She went home to look after herself for an hour or so. It wasn't easy to get her to go. What's in the bag?" Izuku asked curiously.

"Just some stuff. The cable here sucks, and it's just taking up space at my house. I figured I'd let it clutter up your room."Izuku sat silently for a moment, concerned by the abnormal behavior.

"Are you sure you're doing okay?" Katsuki shook his head.

"What the hell did I just say to you, Deku?"

"I know, but-thanks, Kacchan. I appreciate what you're doing. But they let you go home today. Shouldn't you be taking it easy? Didn't you say after you got out you weren't going to-"

"I said when you get out of the hospital, that's it. Your dumb ass is still here. You don't hear very well." Deku frowned.

"I-I don't deserve this. If you knew what happened that day...I'm the reason you-I never wanted you to get hurt."

"We'll talk about that later. You're gonna explain everything. You're not off the hook for that. Right now, work on getting better so I can kick your ass when you get back to school." Bakugo replied. "enjoy the break while it lasts. And stop stalling. Do what you have to do."

Bakugo again offered the broth, keeping a hand on the container as Izuku drank the warm liquid.

"It's actually kind of frustrating, you know?" Izuku said, turning to cough.

"Being sick isn't supposed to be fun, Nerd." Bakugo sat on the edge of the bed, replacing the lid and setting the thermos down.

"It's not just that. I want to be able to help people, but I'm more of a liability to everyone. Sometimes I wonder if I should've-"

"Stop it. You know better. You know what your problem is? You think about things too much." Bakugo poured some water into the cup and offered it to Izuku.

"Just take it easy, you'll feel better when you're moving around." The dark-haired teen took a sip of water.

Thanks, Kacchan. You've really gone out of your way for me. I-"

"Yeah, whatever. Remember that one movie we used to watch when we were kids? The one with the aliens that had weird heads and shark teeth? you used to freak out when I put it on?"

"Yeah. What about it?" Bakugo reached into the backpack and pulled out a portable DVD player, along with a small cd case.

"I had nothing else to do, so I figured I'd put it on and see if it has the same effect. "Katsuki smirked.

"Come on, Kacchan, really?" Deku rolled his eyes.

"Hell yeah. Maybe we'll watch one of the other ones after that."

"You know, you never did answer me. Why did you come back?" Katsuki looked away from the boy, continuing to set up the movie.

"It was this, or hang out with the hag all night. Not much to do around here." He said after a moment of silence.

"Do you want me to move so you can lie back too?"Izuku offered.

"No. you stay right there, I've got enough space." The blond pulled his feet onto the bed and pressed play.

"Do you want a pillow?" Deku asked.

"I'm good. You'll need it more than I would. Don't think I forgot about the broth, I want it gone before the hag gets back."

"I didn't think you would. Kacchan?"

"What?"

"I...kind of miss this, "Deku admitted softly. Bakugo glanced over at him but said nothing. Bakugo scoffed.

"Stupid Nerd, watch the movie."
