Hey everyone! I hope you are enjoying this story so far. Let me know if you are. Another action scene here that I have to give credit to Band of Brothers. And as always I do not own the characters from FMA but as always I love to write with them.
A month later the weather had warmed up. It was a sunny spring day and the flowers were blooming. The meadows had blossoms that lined the trenches that the soldiers had dug on either side. Near the tree lines, there were several hideouts that were connected by the trenches. These hideouts held soldiers and guns.
Now some of the trees were blooming. They had white flowers and they almost looked like fluffy cotton from the distance. Little did they know that one of these white flowered trees hid a dark secret.
A sniper, Riza Hawkeye, had her white coat on to disguise herself in the tree. She took note of the hideout of the enemy and aimed. She was patient and waited. A small team of four soldiers including Edward, Alphonse, Gray, and Gardner were in their own trench waiting for Riza's signal.
Hawkeye took aim and saw an opportunity. She fired and killed an enemy instantly, seeing the blood spray from his head. Edward and his team started shooting at the hideout which the enemy responded with their own retaliation. After several rounds were fired, Edward spoke to himself through his teeth "Fuery, you need to hurry up."
Master Sergeant Fuery was leading his team around the tree line in order to be behind the enemy's hideout that Riza and Edward's team were firing at. He gave hand signals to Private Connell and new recruit, Private Dragneel. They pulled the pins of their grenades and sent them flying into the enemy's hideout. The explosion silenced the gunfire. Fuery and his team went into the hideout and Private Dragneel saw that one of the Cretean soldiers was still alive. He aimed his gun and tried to shoot but his gun jammed. In response, the Cretean soldier started loading his weapon. Dragneel panicked and began to try to unjam the gun. The Cretean soldier aimed but Fuery came up and shot him in the chest.
Once Edward saw that the soldiers had been eliminated in that hideout, he ordered his team to follow him. They ran near the tree line and Hawkeye joined them. They jumped into the enemy trench to make way to another enemy hideout. Some of the enemy soldiers saw this and started running away on the field toward the treeline. Private Gardner took aim and shot some of soldiers in the back and they collapsed on the field. Edward threw a grenade at one of the soldiers and when it hit the soldier, it exploded on his back. The Cretean collapsed.
Gray and Alphonse moved up the trench towards the hideout. Gray spotted 2 soldiers trying to get more ammunition out of boxes. Gray shot them and they collapsed. Edward's team advanced into the hideout after eliminating the Cretean soldiers that held it but one was still alive. He held his hands up and surrendered. Despite being an enemy, he was still human and didn't want to die. Edward got some rope from his bag while Gray held the man at gunpoint. Edward then tied their new prisoner up with his hands behind his back. Even though he was tied up, Gray never took eyes off of him.
Another team that had Brosh, Ross, and Scarlett ran to another trench on the other side of the hideout. That way they could each come from opposing sides of the hideout but they had yet to make it to the hideout. Edward was concerned so he had Alphonse and Gardner go down the trench that they were supposed to go into. A little ways into it, they found the rest of their team. Second Lieutenant Maria Ross was hovering over Sergeant Danny Brosh who was laying face down still conscious but in a lot of pain. Ross was holding pressure on Brosh's left butt cheek. Private Scarlett was keeping a lookout.
Alphonse and Gardner helped Brosh to the hideout and laid him facedown. He cried out in pain. Edward looked at his comrade's wound. "Oh shit!" Edward hadn't meant to say that out loud but he did. Alphonse had received some training as a medic so he treated Brosh until the official medic could make it to him. He got the bleeding to stop and gave Brosh some morphine. The gunfire had ceased and Fuery and his team joined up with Edward's.
The mission was a success and they claimed part of Amestris back. Brosh would be sent to the Medic tent. Fortunately, the bullet that hit in his ass was still lodged there and had not penetrated any major organs or severed his sciatic nerve but he was sent to a hospital to have the bullet removed and recover from his wound.
Author's note: A gunshot wound in the butt can be quite deadly. It can penetrate the bladder or intestines that leak out feces and urine which can cause sepsis. Surgery would be necessary. It can also hit the sciatic nerve which connects the spinal cord in the back to the nerves in your legs.
