A week later, Alphonse met Izumi and Sig at the train station, and escorted them to Ed and Winry's home. They had on coats because it was still very cold outside. Al opened the front door and Edward greeted them. But Edward was greeted with "Where's the baby?" when Izumi walked in.

"I'll go get him," Edward went upstairs to get the baby. 'I didn't even get a hello from her,' he thought. Edward saw the sleeping baby and picked him up gingerly. "Someone's here to meet you." He brought the baby downstairs. "Here he is," Edward said presenting the baby that was slowly waking up from a nap.

Izumi had stars in her eyes. She and Sig looked over the baby in Edward's arms. Izumi sighed "Edward, he is precious."

Winry came downstairs. She had just finished showering and getting dressed. She had basically been living in pajamas for the past week. Izumi saw her and spoke to her "Winry, you look great. Have these two been taking care of you? They haven't been slacking off, have they?" Izumi looked at the boys threateningly. Edward and Alphonse straightened up.

Winry shook her head. "I haven't lifted a finger since Ben was born. I promise they have taken good care of me."

Ben started fussing. Edward tried bouncing him but it was no use. Winry went to get him. "He's probably hungry. It's about that time." She looked down at the sofa that she normally used to nurse the baby. "I guess I'll take him upstairs."

Izumi would not have it. "Nonsense! This is your house." She started ushering the men out of the room.

"But she's my wife! I've already seen it!" Edward complained.

"Out!" Izumi pushed them into the kitchen. Then she joined Winry on the couch. Winry started nursing the baby, and Izumi asked about her birth process because Edward had not given a lot of details. Winry gave her the whole story. By the time she finished the story, the baby had finished nursing. Winry gave Izumi the baby so that she could snuggle him.

Winry also told Izumi of some feelings she had lately. "I just feel like a cow. All I do is produce milk and feed him." She seemed kind of down.

"Oh Winry, I've heard it's a hard adjustment. Have you even left the house since he's been born?" Winry shook her head.

"I think you need to get out. We can watch him in between feedings. Just even go for a walk with Edward or go into town."

"That'd be nice." Winry said.

The next day, Winry and Edward went into town while Izumi and Sig watched the baby. Getting out felt nice for Winry, and she came back with a smile on her face. So every other day she would take a walk, and when the weather warmed up, the baby would go with them into town.
