Five months later, Edward and Winry had arrived to Izumi's for a visit. It was the middle of winter and it was cold out. The young family had winter coats on and Ben had a cute red hat on to keep his head warm Winry held Ben while Edward was carrying the luggage. Sig had met them at the station and helped carry some bags.
They walked in and were greeted by Izumi in their sitting room. "How was his first train ride?" she asked.
Edward groaned "Terrible! He wants to get down and crawl everywhere but we wouldn't let him so he was mad and not afraid to show it."
Winry sighed "At least he did take a nap." Ed and Winry were weary from dealing with an upset baby. Ben started squirming and wanting down. "Guess he's ready to explore." She set him down and he began to crawl around.
Sig and Edward brought the luggage to the guest room. Edward set a suitcase on the bed and noticed an addition to the room. "You guys bought a crib?!"
"We wanted him to be comfortable," Sig told him.
"Don't you think that's going a little overboard?" Edward asked.
"Not at all. I doubt he'll be the only one that you'll have," Sig elbowed him. Edward's cheeks flushed a little. They did want more children but not right now."
Edward and Sig joined the rest of the group. The women were sitting on the couch watching Ben and trying to make sure he didn't get into any trouble. Ben eventually crawled to the coffee table. Winry told Izumi "Watch this." She pointed to her son. Ben put his hands on the table and pulled up to a standing position. He started side stepping towards them. He eventually ended up going towards Izumi until she could pick him up. He snuggled into her chest.
"He's going to be walking before you know it," Sig said. Edward grinned.
Izumi picks him up and carries him to a corner of the room. "Let's go over here. I have some new toys for you." She and Ben stacked blocks and he would knock them down and laugh.
Later that evening, Ben had fallen asleep on Izumi while sitting on the couch. Edward picked him up and laid him down in the crib. He went back and sat next to his wife.
Izumi made a suggestion to the weary couple. "You know, one night this week, you two should go out. We'll watch the baby here." They didn't hesitate to agree but tonight they were exhausted. They would explore Dublith while their baby was with his honorary grandparents.
