A few minutes later, Song, Benson, Wolf, and Kanan all sat at one end of a table in the larger tent. The Rogue Squad sat at the other end, eyeing them in interest. However, the ones that really disturbed them was Catra and Makuta. Makuta tapped his claws on the table as he looked them over, and Benson felt very intimidated by his gaze.

"Sooooo, someone gonna say anything?" Dave asked.

"Skorp tells me you sent a message out of some kind" Makuta said, ignoring Dave, "Care to tell us what's going on here?"

"Well" Song replied, "It's about my daughter, Kipo."

"What about her?" Catra asked.

Kanan spoke up. "She's half-mute, which basically means half animal. This allows her to shift between human and jaguar. Recently, however, she seems to have gone crazy and seems to be full jaguar, even in her mind."

"Did you notice anything on her that was out of the ordinary?" Waspix asked.

"Her eyes were glowing a deep purple" Song admitted, "No pupil at all, almost as if her eyes were glowing."

Makuta scratched the table with his claws and tensed up.

"What is it?" Catra asked.

"Magic" Makuta replied, "Has to be."

"You're suggesting there's a magic user here?" Pyroc asked.

"Most likely" Makuta replied, "Which means we'll need to stay on our toes. Fortunately, I know what we're dealing with, so I might know how to counter it."

"Do you now?" Kanan questioned, a quizzical look on his face. Makuta nodded. "Catra and I used to work for a magic user. Needless to say we picked up a few tricks on fighting them."

Catra nodded in agreement; she remembered full well how they managed to trick Shadow Weaver time and again when they were younger.

"So, you'll help us?" Song asked, her voice getting hopeful.

Makuta nodded. "Sure. We'll help with this one. Besides, it's what the message was about, so we might as well."

"First, we'll need to find this jaguar" Skorp pointed out.

Makuta nodded in agreement when Kanan spoke up. "I'm a hunter, so I can track things better than most. Something tells me you two cats can do the same."

"I mean," Makuta replied, "My sense of smell is pretty good, and me and my sister can see in the dark."

Kanan nodded, "I can provide something that belonged to Kipo. We can use that to follow the scent."

"Sounds good enough to me" Catra replied. Makuta nodded, than turned to the rest of his team.

"I need you guys to stay on coms and radar" he told them, "Catra and I will go with Kanan to hunt this things down, but I'll need you all on standby in case things start to go south."

Waspix gave a salute. "You got it."

Skorp raised a claw. "I feel like I should be nearby. Just in case you need immediate assistance. I can be underground if you need."

Makuta thought about it, but Catra spoke up this time. "I see nothing wrong with it. Fine, Skorp, you can join us, but STAY underground until you're sure we need help. I want to keep as much surprise as we can."

Skorp nodded. "I can manage that."

Makuta then turned to Kanan. "Ok, what do you have?"

Kanan reached into a pouch and dug around for a few seconds before pulling out a small piece of paper, unfolding it to reveal a decently sized tuft of purple fur.

"This fur came off of Kipo during our last encounter." He explained. "Think it'll be enough."

Makuta leaned forward and took a few sniffs before thinking a bit.

"It might" he finally answered, "Is it suitable for you?"

"Yes" Kanan replied, "I just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page."

"Right."

Song stood up, "I'll take Benson and Dave and head back to the city. Wolf, are you going with them or us?"

"Them" Wolf replied, "Kipo's my friend too."

"Yeah, I'll go with Song" Benson said, "No way am I getting shredded by that jaguar, regardless of if it's Kipo or not."

"Agreed" Dave said.

Song nodded. "Alright, we have our plan, and you have yours."

Makuta nodded in reply before turning to the team. "Alright squad, let's move out!"

Later, Kanan, Catra, and Makuta were at the edge of the jungle outside of the camp.

"You ready?" Kanan asked.

Makuta nodded while Catra replied, "As long as you make sure we can keep up."

"I'm sure you'll be fine" Kanan replied, "Now, you might want to stand back."

Before either of the cat twins could ask, Kanan got down on all fours and proceeded to morph into his Indoraptor form.

"What in the name of…?!" Makuta shouted.

Catra shouted and jumped back a bit. Kanan just looked back at them with an unamused looked before darting into the woods.

"Hey, wait!" Makuta shouted, jumping into the trees and running along them in order to follow Kanan. Catra groaned in frustration before jumping in after him. "Maybe let me know when you're going to follow the shape-shifting hunter next time!"

The twins were able to keep up by running through the trees, but Kanan still managed to keep a good pace as the three bolted through the jungle in search of the jaguar.

Little did the three know was that they were being watched. As they ran through the trees, the dark figure watched from a crystal ball, keeping an eye on them. Lonnie, Rogelio, and Kyle wated from a distance.

"What is it?" Lonnie asked.

"I have an assignment for you" the figure replied, "It appears these three are on the trail of my new pet. If they take it down, taking this planet will be significantly harder for the four of us. It has come to my attention you know two of these individuals."

Lonnie looked into the ball offered her and frowned. "Yeah, I know em."

Kyle looked over her shoulder and gasped. "What?! Both cats are here?"

"Apparently" Lonnie replied, shoving Kyle off her shoulder.

"Good" the figure purred, satisfied that they knew the cat twins, "Take them down before they get to the jaguar."

Lonnie nodded before turning to Rogelio and Kyle. "Let's move out."

The three then took off into the jungle, leaving the figure to chuckle to himself, the light of a nearby fire casting a bit of light on his skull-like face.

You probably know who this dark figure is by now. I won't confirm it till later, but feel free to guess.
