Little Snow's Guardian

Chapter 4

Looking for a relationship to come out of darkness.

Looking to fulfill their limitless desires.

When the rainy sky drizzles, does the land tangle?

Honey, can you hear the anxiety of the girl's dream?

"What are you doing here?"

His friends' smirk couldn't help but get wider.

"Oh what are we doing here? We've been knocking on your door for the past five minutes and no one has responded. And so we tried to call you. But when we did, we heard someone scream. We had to break down the door and sprint into your room. And we understood why she had to scream."

Jack's expression was unreadable. Embarrassment, shock, mortification everything was embedded in it.

"Sorry for your door by the way." They apologised.

"Jack, are you alright? And why is your door broken?" Tooth's voice of concern made him look at his door. Indeed it was broken. How strong were his friends?

"Nothing love. He is fine. He just had to do his husband's duties after all." Bunny said with a wink, which Toothiana didn't grasp. She shook her head and turned to Jack.

"Where's Elsa?" She asked him which made his friends smirk again.

"She'll come now. Please have a seat."

"Come now?" Olaf joked with him.

Jack sent a bloody murder face to him to shut him up. Olaf just laughed louder.

"Frosty!" An angelic voice sang in his ears. He turned to see his niece trotting towards him. With a smile he picked her up.

"Hello princess."

Sophie laughed and hugged him tight. Just then he saw his rest of the family enter. Manny, Anna, Iduna, Kristoff and Sven. And where was Elsa's beast?

Bark*

There he was. The dogs were more excited than the humans. "Woah slow down buddy." Kristoff took them outside before they could cause a fuss around here.

"Ah Jack my son." Manny hugged him tight before he could raise a sound of protest. He had really large hands. When he pulled away Jack whispered a question. "Did you put that same body spray which I utterly disgust?"

Manny smiled. "Yes I did."

His eyes fell on Iduna, his mother in law. "Mrs. Winters! Please have a seat." He said. In truth he had a huge respect for Elsa's mother and loved her sister Anna. Elsa was a really different kid back then.

Iduna rolled her eyes. "Just Iduna is fine." She winked and took her seat on the couch. He smiled broadly.

"Where's Jamie by the way?" Tooth's smile vanished quickly. She looked around with a frown. "He was right here with me. Where would be-"

"It's alright he's with me." Elsa ascended down stairs with her hand clasped with Jamie who had a huge grin on his face.

"How did you get there?" Sophie enquired her big brother with an adorable pout.

"I have my ways." He said, smirking at her.

The Frost couple tried their best to ignore each other. Jack knew how angry Elsa was at him.

"Elsa!" Anna jumped to hug her sister. "I missed you." She mumbled.

"I missed you too silly." She whispered, rubbing her back. Her mother was sitting there, watching her kids interact. Such a lovely sight it was to enjoy.

… … …

"I'm so happy that you are coping up great with things so far." She heard her mother say. "You know after…" And she knew what her mother was about to say. She managed a smile.

"Yes mother." Even if she wasn't that great, she was doing fine. "And I'm happy that you're here."

And then there was a sweet smile from her mother. She loved to see that from her. Her mother had gone through a lot. After her father's death, god knows how devastated that woman became.

"Okay, why are we so serious here?" Anna tried to lighten up the mood, while carving every delicious thing her eyes caught. "We are here for a party, women."

"Yeah. And let's set the table before Anna ends up eating everything." Toothiana teased.

"Hey!"

… … …

"The food is actually good." Manny loved the food actually. The table's half dishes were served to him. "Good job to both of you."

Next to Manny, Anna rivaled him in devouring. Poor Kristoff though, he couldn't get a dessert.

Jack smiled proudly. Well he helped Elsa in cooking and that was a really great job who has never gone to the kitchen in his lifetime.

"By the way mate." Bunny started. "Olaf and I need to ask you something."

Please don't ask about the incident this evening. Jack prayed.

"Who was that 'devil' on your phone?"

Manny choked his food, while others looked at him befuddled. Elsa looked at him curiously. Devil?

"Devil? What no... I don't remember anything like that." Lies. His brain chided.

"Well I do." Olaf uttered. "I was the one who told you that the 'devil' called you."

"Jack, is Pitch Black troubling you again?" Manny's voice boomed.

"No no. It's not him."

"Was it Vanessa?" Olaf asked him. He wasn't teasing, Jack noted.

Elsa laughed silently beside him. His face grew red again. Why would this Vanessa girl wouldn't leave him alone?

"It's not her. I don't have her number." He reasoned.

"Then why would you name someone as devil?" His friends asked him and he just wanted to smack them for that.

"Let's just eat for the moment. It might be something personal for him." Iduna replied calmly and everyone nodded. Jack wanted to round the table and hug her tightly for ending this conversation.

"Jack." Elsa called him silently. He turned to see her getting very close. He waited in bated breath. "Can you please pass the salt?"

Oh right, salt. He nodded and reached his hands towards the salt shaker and handed it to her.

"Thanks." She mumbled.

He cleared his throat to gain her attention. Elsa turned and looked questionably at him. "What?" She asked.

"Should I kiss you?"

"What?!" She whispered a shout.

"Shh!" He looked around to see everyone eating. He sighed. "I thought that...maybe… because you know that Kristoff and that Kangaroo are doing nothing but romance at the table. And we are just eating. Won't they doubt us?"

"So?"

"So? I asked you whether… should we do something like that?"

Elsa sighed. "Jackson, you want me to kiss you because you passed me the salt?"

"Then how does romance work?"

"If you shut up and eat, it'll work well." And she still couldn't believe the fact that she actually kissed him on their wedding day. Their faces were mere inches away. Just before they could turn their faces away, someone spoke,

"Ah, so the newly married couple is Romeo and Juliet I presume." The couple shot open their eyes and slowly turned to see everyone looking at them with an amused smile. Jack's blush from before was nothing compared to the one on his cheeks now.

"Yeah, we saw it too. This evening." The buddies giggled and loved to make their friend all flustered.

Romeo and Juliet? More like Tom and Jerry. At least this was enough to make--fool-- them that they are a very idyllic couple. Oh but the guilt was immense, it was creeping down their hearts. How heartbroken would they be if they learnt that they are not Romeo and Juliet?

… … …

Some time later, Elsa sat down under her roof outside in the quiet night, seeing the little kids and the canines playing around the yard. The others had champagne in their hands, chatting contentedly with each other.

Well, she declined the offer of drinking, knowing that she would get sick easily. Not her alone, Olaf and Anna too. But now Olaf was beside her, giggling at the jovial scene before him.

"Elsa." She looked beside to see Olaf trying to gain her attention. "May I speak with you in private?"

An odd sense of discomfort oozed when she saw his serious gaze on her. And that wasn't Olaf. She nodded and led him under a small tree that stood closer to them.

"I've always been a nerd and tyrannized. Often bullied by someone because of my appearance. I wished I died back then."

Elsa had no idea why he was talking so sentimentally. As a brow beaten person, she knew how awful it was to be bullied.

"But then I met Jack Frost in my high school. I was as quiet as I always have been. But he was the only person who came looking for me. Along with Bunnymund, I found a family."

"I thought I should do something to thank him. But I never could. We always made sure to do what was the best for him. And It seems like the biggest good thing we've done is getting him married to you."

But it wasn't. She always felt that she was the least person on earth to be worthy for a thank you. And she knew how Jack regretted marrying her like she did.

"Thank you Elsa, for making him a happy man today."

She nodded with an unsure smile, no words came from her. She felt like the most useless person when he thanked her for what she had never done. She has been lying to her whole family till this day. Her parents, her sister, everyone. Why? Because you are a coward. A voice told her.

"Elsa, you are the first person I truly loved. You always make my heart beat anew. I promise you I won't leave you for anything that hurdles us."

"Then why don't we just get married right away?"

"Hmm it's pretty late. Doesn't matter huh?"

"Nope."

It hurt a lot when a promise had to be broken because of the course of nature. It's because you don't deserve any love. She had always told herself that she shouldn't expect anything from anyone. Because when she did, it always turned out to be a disappointment.
