Of Untimely Conversations And Passionate Hours

"A passionate hour's never a wasted one."

- While Your Lips Are Still Red by Nightwish

That same evening, Hercules, Meg, Icarus and Cassandra had returned to Herc's villa after a long and hard day. Cassandra and Icarus had each retreated to their own, separate guest bedrooms as Hercules and Meg headed over to the bedroom they shared.

Hercules had taken a bath and Meg was now finally dressing the cut he had received earlier on.

His wound was a painful reminder that even though he was a demigod, he still could get hurt or even worse, killed. It pained her to once again come face to face with the fact that choosing her had made him mortal. Choosing her had made him vulnerable and she too had to live with that on her conscience.

As a small consolation she could see though that his half-immortal blood had already started to heal the wound, much more quickly than any mortal's body would. Meg sighed with relief: there were really some perks of being a demigod.

"It's already healing, isn't it?" Hercules asked, not even looking at the wound.

"Yeah, I see that being a demigod comes handy in your line of work," Meg quipped back as she finished her handiwork.

"It does, doesn't it? I do appreciate you worrying for me, though," Hercules murmured as he pulled her closer. His upper-body was still bare, some droplets of water still glistening on his moist skin.

"Hmmm," Meg hummed as she pressed herself against him, claiming his lips for a kiss. He pulled her closer, sighing against her mouth.

"Meg," he sighed as he lowered her to the bed.

"Yes?" she acknowledged the question she had heard in his voice.

"How did you make Hecate agree on helping us?" Hercules suddenly asked and Meg wanted to growl with frustration. Her mind was concerned in completely different matters (like getting rid of all their remaining clothes, for starters) and he wanted to discuss this matter now?

"I know you don't want to talk about it now, but it bothers me," Hercules offered meekly as he saw the meaningful look she gave him.

"Fine," Meg rolled her eyes, sitting back up.

"She told me that she would do it in order to annoy Hades. And she also said that I owe her a favor," Meg petulantly replied.

"That makes more sense. What kind of a favor?" Hercules narrowed his eyes as he considered Hecate's request.

"I don't know yet," Meg shrugged.

"Are you sure that was the best call? I mean, your history with that..." Meg made a face which made Hercules quickly change his tactics.

"Just, that deal makes me uneasy. I don't want to see you getting yourself in the harm's way yet again," Hercules meekly offered.

"And I didn't want you to get yourself hurt or killed! Seriously Herc, I didn't want to see you in that jam either. You think it was any more fun for me?" Meg challenged him, crossing her hands at her chest.

"I know, I know. I just... Don't like it," Hercules replied with disdain.

"Well, I don't like it either, but I didn't have much of a choice, did I? I was afraid we would lose: that you would be killed and all the other casualties the fight would cause and that our city-state would be leveled to the ground. So yeah, I know it wasn't the best call, but we didn't have any other options at that moment. Look, we can discuss on this matter the whole evening and the rest of the night, but it wouldn't change a thing. I simply couldn't risk it. Letting everything getting destroyed and – losing you," Meg softly whispered the last part as she placed her hand on his.

"So what do you suggest?" Hercules felt perplexed: he was touched to find how far she was ready to go to keep him and other people she cherished safe. But at the same time, he still felt concerned because of the deal his beloved had made with Hecate. Her history of making such deals had not been too pleasant and this new turn of events made him feel uneasy, to say the least. Those deals had a bad habit of coming back at her. And he would never allow her getting hurt because of him, not again.

Meg, on the other hand, had other plans.

"Well, we could always return back to our original plan," Meg offered, giving him a seductive smile and finally her efforts were rewarded with another kiss.

Yes, maybe these matters could wait until the next morning.

-A/N: Yes, I know this was just a teensy, tiny lil' chapter, but I wanted to put it out there. But on the other hand, this content is what we're here for, isn't it? And yes, I do mean to update more regularly from now on: maybe not monthly, but as often as I can. Thank you so much for putting up with me!

Kudos for Disneylove12: Yes, we are back at the action, hope you enjoyed this chapter as well!
