A/N: Let's get down to business, shall we? Just letting you know, Earth 616 is the MCU in this rewrite. Like the old version, I based this on a Marvel Comics reference.

Earth 616

June 19, 2016

9:00 am

In an abandoned and empty building, a blue portal opened as Barry ran through it in a flash of orange lightning before stopping in his tracks. The portal closed behind Barry as he looked around the abandoned building and was surprised to see that it was empty. Barry then took off his tachyon device as he held with both hands, looking down on it. He knew what he was going to do, he was going to destroy it and with it, his chances of getting back home. Barry gave one last look at the device. Barry vibrated his hands, destroying the tachyon device to pieces.

In a flash of orange lightning, Barry picked all the pieces and ran in circles. Then, a portal to the speed force suddenly opened as Barry threw the pieces into the portal, which closed as the pieces went through. Barry then sighed deeply, he didn't want to do what he had done but he had no other choice. This was the only choice. Barry reminded himself. There was no other way. Barry then held his backpack by the grips before walking out the abandoned building. He finally found a door that led outside to the streets. He looked out to see the streets of a crowded city, stores of places he didn't know. Barry put on a cap and pulled up his hood, hiding his face as he left the building, walking through the crowd. Barry's mission was about to begin, all he had to do was find a base of operation. Before he could do that, however, he would need to learn where he was, he would need to learn about the area. The heroes, villains and all the kinds of people who lived in it. Barry kept walking through the crowd, continuing his journey, ready to begin his mission.

A Few Hours Later

Sewers

Barry was walking through the underground sewers, slowly moving his feet through the little but dirty and muddy waters on the ground. In his journey, he had packed many things in his backpack, one of those things included Gideon's hard drive. Gideon had informed Barry of a secret room in the sewers through x-ray vision and scanning. Barry was making his way to the room, over the past couple hours, Barry had learned much about the earth he was on. According to Gideon, he was on Earth 616 (a long way from Earth 1). This earth apparently had a group of heroes called 'The Avengers', a team of superheroes who had been active since 2012, when they saved Earth from an alien battle that occurred in the very city Barry was in: New York City. The Avengers had also prevented a deadly crisis in Sokovia caused by a rogue A.I. named Ultron in 2015. However, after an event called 'The Avenger Civil War', the Avengers had split. Some now worked as Avengers only with the U.N.'s permission while others opted to be fugitives.

This earth also had a similar organization to A.R.G.U.S., they were called S.H.I.E.L.D., an acronym that stood for Strategic Homeland Intervention and Logistics Division. A rather long name. The organisation had been active for decades until 2014, when an evil organisation called Hydra infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and destroyed the entire organisation. S.H.I.E.L.D. was in the wind and they had been hiding ever since. Barry couldn't remember the exact details but he knew that is was something like that, he also knew that there was no Central City, no S.T.A.R. Labs, no S.T.A.R. City, no Barry Allen, none of that. As of now, however, he was focused on finding the secret room. Barry held Gideon's hard drive in one hand, using Gideon's blue holographic head as light to guide himself through the underground sewers. Suddenly, Barry stopped in his tracks as he saw a circle-shaped door, completely blocking his path and a rusty, brownish-copper handle on it.

"Gideon, is this the room?" Barry asked his A.I.

"Apparently so, Barry Allen." Gideon replied.

Barry then switched off Gideon, placing her hard drive in his pocket. Barry then rolled up his sleeves as he held the handle with both his hands. He pulled as hard as he could when the right side of the door slightly opened, revealing a room behind it. Barry pulled the door as it opened from right to left. The door leaned against the left side as Barry saw a room behind it. Barry walked past the five-inch wide door as he entered the room, closing the door behind him. The room Barry was in seemed a lot like and abandoned science room, there three, long tables: one on the right side, on in front of Barry and one on the left. On the right side, above the tables, there were also six medium-sized computer screens. On the right table, there was a large keyboard and a mouse, which must've been wireless connected to the computer screens whereas the other two tables were empty. The room was just a little larger than Oliver's old base under the Verdant night club back on Earth 1, which was good, as Barry would have much more space to work out.

Barry headed to the right table, placing his backpack next to the keyboard. Barry pressed the on-button on the keyboard as the computer screens immediately switched on.

"Good it works." Barry said.

Barry then saw that all the screens demanded the passwords to be typed, he took out Gideon's hard drive placing it on the table that was below the computers. Immediately, Gideon's holographic head emerged from the hard drive.

"Gideon." Barry said, plugging Gideon's hard drive into one the keyboard. "Get me access to the nearest satellite."

"Hacking nearest satellite." Gideon said as she began hacking the nearest satellite.

Then, many lines of code of appeared on all the computer screens. Barry knew what to do, he began typing on the keyboard, breaking the firewall as well as the encryption to the satellite. Barry knew exactly what he was doing, he wasn't that much of an expert at it but he was fast and he had learned a few things from both Cisco and Harry. Barry was able to break the encryption as well as the firewall of the satellite as he saw holographic blueprints of the world on all six computer screens.

"Good." Barry said, he had gained access of the satellite.

Barry then continued typing on the keyboard, entering some commands into the computers. Then, the holographic blueprints of world zoomed in on New York City. Barry looked at the prints carefully, according to the maps, Barry's new base (which he decided to call The Flashcave) was just on the outskirts of New York City, which was a good thing, it meant that he would be able to easily hide from the authorities. They would be looking for Barry as he was about to begin committing vigilantism.

"Time to get to work." Barry said.

Later

Night

The Flashcave

Hours and hours had passed as Barry continued working around the room,, he had been exhausted and he started to sweat, so he had removed his jacket. Barry was only wearing a grey, short-sleeved t-shirt, some long, beige khaki pants. After all of Barry's work so far, he had set up some lights around the corners of the ceiling, which was over 25 feet off the floor. Barry had also set up a pull-up bar and a salmon ladder. As of now, Barry was getting ready to build his suit. Having left his old suit back on Earth 1, Barry had to make a new one. He had different plans for this suit, instead of red, it would be black. Instead of spandex, it would be made of bullet resistant, lightweight metal. Instead of a cowl to go with the suit, there would be a separate helmet. Barry had many changes for his new suit and unlike before, he would have to make it himself as he didn't have Cisco to make it for him. Barry took a small stack of papers as he threw it on the table near the keyboard to the computer.

Barry looked down at the papers, spreading them out. There were multiple papers of designs for Barry's suit: one for his helmet, on for his torso part of the suit, one for his arm and leg part of the suit and finally one for the entire suit over all. Barry looked over the designs as he summoned Gideon.

"Gideon," Barry called out as the A.I.'s blue holographic head was visible. "Begin the 3-D print for the suit design."

"Beginning 3-D printing design for Flash suit." Gideon said as all the computer screens showed the process of 3-D printing for Barry's suit.

Barry knew it would take a couple hours, he had already set up everything else he needed in the Flashcave. Barry went over to the salmon ladder and the pull up bar he had set up, he decided that it would be good to work out while Gideon was completing the holographic design for his suit.

2 More Hours Later

Barry was hanging from the pull up bar, his hands were tightly gripped onto it, his shirt had been removed, revealing his scarred back and bare chest. Barry slowly pulled himself up and down, there was a block of concrete tied to his waist by some chains and as a result, Barry's pull ups were slow and heavy. Nevertheless, he was able to do them as he continued counting the number of pull ups in his head. 97...98...99...100. Barry then let go of the pull up bar, dropping onto the ground as the concrete block landed on the floor with a loud thud. Barry phased through the chains, freeing himself from it as he walked toward the computers and the keyboard table. Barry saw that the design was nearly complete. Barry waited a few more moments when Gideon finally spoke.

"3-D holographic design complete," Gideon said as Barry looked at the 3-D holographic design of his suit. "Design status: success, completed."

"Good," Barry whispered. "Gideon, how long will it take to build the suit?"

"If you have all the materials, it will take a mere few hours." Gideon replied. "My estimation is that it will take until 3:00 am tomorrow morning if you start now."

"Well, it's best I start now then, isn't it?" Barry asked rhetorically.

"Will you not be sleeping, Mr. Allen?" Gideon asked.

"No not tonight." Barry said before silently speaking to himself. "I don't think I'll be sleeping for a pretty long while. Anyways, time to get down business."

June 20, 2016

2:45 am

After gaining the materials he needed and working nonstop for hours through the night without sleeping, Barry was finally able to get the suit built. He was currently adding some finishing touches to the helmet, specifically the grey visor for it. Barry had designed the visor in a way where he could upload Gideon to it, he also added a voice modulator to it, just in case. After some more finishing touches, Barry was finally able to get the helmet complete as he looked down at his success. The helmet was finally complete, it was mainly made of black metal, which would cover the back of Barry's head, the sides of his head and the top of it. There was also the grey visor, which would cover the top half of his mouth while leaving his mouth and chin exposed. Barry held the helmet in his hands before placing it on his head, wearing it. The helmet was dark, the only thing Barry could see through was the visor, which was made of a special one-way mirror material. Barry then decided to test it.

"Gideon." Barry called out as blue light glowed on the visor.

"Yes, Barry Allen?" Gideon asked.

"Connect to the helmet." Barry said.

"Connection complete," Gideon replied instantly. "Upload successful."

"Activate voice modulator." Barry demanded.

"Voice modulator activated." Gideon said as Barry tested his new voice modulator.

"Testing, one, two, three. Testing, one, two, three." Barry said in his new modulated voice. "Huh, it works. Gideon, voice modulator off."

Barry's voice modulator switched off as he took off his helmet, grinning at it like a madman. It worked, it really worked. On the bright side, I won't need Cisco's help with making suits anymore. Barry thought to himself as he was immediately saddened by the thought. He missed his old home, he missed the team, he missed Central City, he missed everything. Still, the city would be better off without Barry, The Flash and his team had failed Central City. Plus, Barry couldn't go back there. Not without the painful memories of losing the people he had loved, the people he cared about. Barry placed the helmet on the table before turning around to face his new suit. It was made of black metal rather than the red spandex from his old suit. All the gold was replaced with silver-lined metal, there was a silver, lightning-shaped belt at the waist of the suit. The helmet was separate from the suit rather than having a cowl attached to it. It was better and more convenient if it was a helmet, if the suit was metal rather than spandex. Besides, Barry could no longer bear to be like The Flash he once was. He would still go by the name The Flash but he would be different, much different than what he was before. Barry looked at his suit with readiness, it was time to begin his mission.

Then, Barry saw a sewer plate on the ceiling from the corner of his eye. Barry walked near the corner of the room as he saw the sewer plate on the ceiling. Barry didn't know where the sewer plate led, maybe it led to an abandoned building that Barry could use. Either way, wherever it led, there was only one way to find out where it led. Barry grabbed his ladder as he placed it under the sewer plate on the ceiling. He climbed the steps of the ladder before finally reaching the sewer plate. Barry pushed the sewer plate before climbing out of the Flashcave and into a building. Barry looked around the building he was now in, it was empty and clearly abandoned.

"What the hell is this place?" Barry asked himself as he decided to do some looking around and find out more about the place.

15 Minutes Later

Barry had done some looking around the building, from what he could tell and what Gideon told him, the place was a new but abandoned mansion. The mansion didn't belong to anyone in particular, despite having a lot of furniture to make it look like that. This was good for Barry, he now had an entire mansion and the Flashcave to himself. Now, Barry had an actual place to stay besides the Flashcave. What was even better was that there were tons of equipment that Barry could use. There were computers, laptops, scanners, PC's and many other pieces of technological equipment that Barry could use back in the Flashcave. Barry was currently walking down the halls of the mansion as he looked around it.

"Nice." Barry said, his voice and his face devoid of any form of emotion.

Barry then walked over to a small carpet that he had set, he rolled the carpet over, revealing the sewer plate which was the entrance to the Flashcave. Barry pulled out the plate as he climbed down the ladder, he placed the sewer plate back into place before entering the Flashcave. Barry climbed down the ladder before jumping onto the ground. He stood still, looking around the Flashcave, scanning it with his eyes. Barry then went over to the computers and the table with the keyboard and mouse.

"Gideon." Barry called out, summoning his A.I.

"Yes, Barry Allen." Gideon said, her voice was clear as ever and this time, she wasn't seen, nor did she have to be.

"Gideon, get me the crime status here in New York." Barry ordered, he knew that it was time to begin his mission.

Elsewhere In New York

S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Phil Coulson and Alphonso Mackenzie, as well as a group of eighteen S.H.I.E.L.D agents, hid in the abandoned building across the bar. The agents had gotten a lead on the Watchdogs, an anti-Inhuman militia/hate group that had been targeting and killing Inhumans for more than a year. S.H.I.E.L.D. had finally got a lead on a somewhat small group of Watchdog members and the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. wasted no time in ordering a silent, stealthy assault. S.H.I.E.L.D. had been a month or so away from reintroducing themselves to the public and so, the new director wanted this mission to go as discreetly as possible. As of now, Coulson and Mack had been looking out one of the windows of the abandoned building, watching the bar. Behind them, a few of the eighteen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents sat behind desks, monitoring the bar via security cameras and footage that S.H.I.E.L.D. had managed to get access to.

"They haven't made a move yet." Mack noted.

"No, they haven't," Coulson agreed. "And, assuming that they haven't seen us, they're not going to make a move."

"Hmm, just wish Bobbi and Hunter were here with us." Mack said.

"At least the new director brought them back to S.H.I.E.L.D." Coulson said, trying to cheer Mack up.

"Yeah, they're back."

"But Daisy's not."

"No, she isn't."

"We'll find her," Coulson promised. "And when we do, we'll bring her back."

"What if she doesn't want to come back?" Mack asked hesitantly.

"She does," Coulson said immediately, not wanting to accept the dark truth. "She's just not thinking right. After Lincoln died, no one can blame her."

"Yeah, let's hope so." Mack whispered.

"Agent Coulson," one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents called out as both Coulson and Mack turned to face him. "The meeting with the Watchdogs is wrapping up."

"Alright everyone, get ready," Coulson ordered as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents loaded their guns. "Remember, the director wants this to be discreet and stealthy."

Outside the bar, on the other side of the building, a group of five Watchdog soldiers stood tall, armed with their machine guns as they guarded the bar. It was usually their job to guard Watchdog meetings and for the past year, they had kept up with it without any complaints or issues. The soldiers walked around the entrance door to the bar, guarding it, keeping their eyes peeled for anything or anyone that looked threatening or suspicious. Suddenly, a streak of orange lightning whizzed past the soldiers as their machine guns disappeared from their hands. The soldiers stared down in shock.

"What the hell was that?" one soldier exclaimed.

"I don't know!" another one yelled.

"Must be an Inhuman, keep your eyes checked, boys." another one of the soldiers ordered.

The soldiers then checked their pockets, hoping to find their pistols, their knives or any of their more portable weapons. However, the watchdogs were shocked to find that all their weapons were gone. They had none of their weapons, they were completely disarmed. Then, the soldiers spotted an unknown dark, figure standing a few feet away from them. The figure too far away and as a result a appeared as nothing more than a shadow standing and blending with the darkness. Then, the man stepped closer, into the soldiers' field of vision as they could finally make out the man's appearances. The man had been wearing a black, metal-armored suit, lined with bits of silver. He had a black lightning shaped emblem on his chest. The man also had a helmet with black metal covering the back, top and the sides of his head and a grey, silver visor covering the top half of his face while leaving his mouth and chin exposed. The Watchdog soldiers stared at the man in shock as they whispered to one another.

"Who the hell is that?" one soldier asked.

"No idea." another soldier replied.

One of the five Watchdog soldiers walked forward, standing between the man and the rest of the Watchdog soldiers.

"Nice suit, asshole," the soldier sassed as the others chuckled. "Go on and get the hell out of here."

The man didn't make a move, he didn't step anywhere, he said nothing. He simply stood still, doing and saying nothing.

"Are you deaf, go and get lost!" the soldier yelled.

The man still made no move.

"Alright, you know what," the soldier said, walking forward. "Why don't you tell me? Who the hell are you supposed to be?"

The soldier then charged at the man, throwing a punch at him but shockingly, the man caught the soldier's punch easily as the other soldiers stared in horror. Then, in multiple flashes of orange lightning, the man began his violent assault on the soldier. He repeatedly speed-punched the soldier in the stomach, breaking his ribs over and over. The man then threw two speed punches to the soldiers face, bruising him extensively. The man then continued speed punching the soldier repeatedly as the rest of the soldiers did nothing but stare in shock as they watched their comrade get beaten to a pulp. The man then punched the soldier off his feet and onto the ground as he got onto his knees, kneeling over the soldier. The man then threw two final punches onto the soldier, he then leaned his head down, whispering in a way where all five soldiers could hear him.

"I'm vengeance ." the man said in a dark, modulated voice.

The man then rose to his feet as the soldier passed out in pain, his injuries finally taking their deadly toll. The man then looked at the four remaining soldiers, who all stared at him in fear and panic. Suddenly, the man charged at the four soldiers and in a flash of orange lightning, he knocked them all unconscious as they laid on the ground, defeated and bested. The man then ran into the bar at super speed in a flash of orange lightning.

In the abandoned building, Coulson, Mack and eighteen agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were watching the security footage of the Watchdogs' bar meeting. They had been waiting patiently for the right time, their cue to bust in and arrest them. Suddenly, the screens fizzed out as the footage disappeared. All that was left was a blurred screen of white and black. Coulson, Mack and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents all stared in shock and confusion.

"What the hell's going on?" Mack demanded.

"I don't know," one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents replied. "We've lost all visual inside the bar. None of our equipment is working."

"How? That equipment is EMP proof." Coulson said.

"I don't think an EMP did that to our stuff." Mack said.

"What do we do?" another S.H.I.E.L.D. agent asked.

"I don't know." Coulson sighed.

Inside the bar, a certain Jacob Smith, a lieutenant of the Watchdogs, was wrapping up a meeting between himself and a group of ten Watchdog soldiers.

"Boss, this 'Quake' vigilante is causing a lot of problems for us," one of the soldiers said. "She's taken out nearly a sixth of our stuff all over the damn country. If we don't deal with her soon, we're gonna be arrested by the cops. Man, we might even end up in jail."

"Then, focus on her," Smith ordered. "Her and her only. Focus all your fire, all your weapons on her. Don't stop until she's dead and when she is, bring me the body."

"You got it, boss." the soldier replied.

"Now get on outta here." Smith ordered.

The soldiers nodded as they all held their guns and began to slowly and secretly make their way out of the bar when suddenly, a streak of orange lightning sped around the entire room, knocking five soldiers out cold as they fell on the ground unconsciously. Smith and the five remaining soldiers were startled by the attack as they all held up their guns, their eyes tracking the room for any movement. Smith took the opportunity to run as he took off, running into a room as he closed and locked the door behind him. The five soldiers held up their machine guns, looking for the man who had attacked them.

"Who the hell was that?" one soldier exclaimed.

"I don't know but we better stop him." another soldier replied, unaware of a certain shadow behind him and his comrades .

"You won't get the chance." a dark, modulated voice echoed through the entire room.

The five soldiers turned around to see a man in a black, metal-armored suit. Before the soldiers could do anything, the man grabbed two soldiers by the back of their heads before bashing them together, knocking the two soldiers unconscious instantly. The man then ran at super speed, taking out the three remaining soldiers in flashes of orange lightning. The man then stood over the unconscious bodies of the ten soldiers before running out of the room at super speed. In a different room of the bar, Jacob Smith sat on a couch, behind a table as he took a sip of his glass of whiskey before placing it on the table. Suddenly, Smith felt a whooshing sound on his left as fear took over his body. Smith got onto his feet as he held up his gun, looking for the streak of lightning. Suddenly, a streak of orange lightning whizzed through the room as Smith was knocked off his feet and onto the ground. Smith looked up and saw a man dressed in black, metal armor kneeling over him. The man stared down at Smith angrily and blackly as Smith grimaced.

"Who the hell are you supposed to be?" Smith spat as the man forcefully pinned him onto the ground.

The man kept Smith pinned down on the ground as he spoke with a dark, modulated voice. "I am vengeance , I am fear, I am the one who will do whatever it takes to keep criminals like you out of the streets. Mark my words, Smith, your days in the outside world are over. You're going to be in a padded cell for a very long time."

"You think you can just throw me in some prison cell and problem solved?" Smith said sarcastically before chuckling. "Let me give you some news, speed freak: it doesn't work that way around these parts. You think we're all there is? I'm barely the beginning of the chain, brother. Besides, I got friends in the D.A. They'll make sure I never see the inside of a cell for even a second."

"Oh I know," the man replied. "I'm going after them too, they're my next targets. I promise you, Smith, as long as I am alive and breathing, none of you will be safe from you. Not the criminals, not the corrupt. I won't spare any of you, none of you will know my mercy."

Smith stared at the man in horror as fear and panic overtook. He completely believed this man, this person. Smith didn't even know who (or even what) this man was. An Inhuman An enhanced? Whatever or whoever this masked vigilante was, Smith was terrified and afraid of him like never before.

"What are you?" Smith rasped, his voice masked with panic as he trembled in fear.

"I'm the goddamn Flash." the man replied before punching Smith in the face, knocking the man unconscious.

The Flash then rose to his feet, standing over Smith's unconscious body as he looked down at it with rage, hatred and disgust. Outside the bar, Phil Coulson, Alphonso Mackenzie and the eighteen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stood outside the door. Coulson then motioned to the agents as Mack kicked the door open with a loud bang. Coulson, Mack and the eighteen S.H.I.E.L.D. then stealthily entered the bar. The agents were shocked and surprised to see that the ten Watchdog soldiers, suspected to be in the bar, were laying on the floor, unconsciously. Mack bent down on his knees, placing two of his fingers on one of Watchdogs' throat as he felt a heartbeat. He turned to Coulson and nodded positively, indicating that the Watchdog soldiers were alive.

Then, the sounds of glass breaking echoed through the room as Coulson, Mack and the S.H.I.E.L.D. immediately held up their guns, aiming at the door of the room where the sound had come from. The agents then slowly made their way to the door as they walked past it, they then looked to see Jacob Smith, a lieutenant of the Watchdogs, laying on the floor, unconsciously. Smith's face was covered in blood and his nose was supposedly broken. Then, with a grunt, he came to consciousness as he weakly spoke.

"He's here," Smith rasped weakly. "He's still here."

"Who?" Coulson asked.

"The...the..." Smith tried to speak but he passed out before he could say anything, his injuries taking their toll once more.

Suddenly, the lights flickered as Coulson, Mack and the agents heard the sounds of whooshing, indicating someone or something's presence at super speed. Coulson, Mack and the agents held their guns as they walked throughout the rest of the bar, their eyes tracking every bit of the room for whoever else was inside. Mack was searching the living room of the bar when he overheard the sounds of whooshing behind him. Mack instantly turned around, only to see nothing, he didn't need to see anything. Mack didn't need to look to know that someone (something?) was in this room with him, he could feel it. In a way, he could even hear it. After a few moments of silence, Mack finally called out, catching the attention of Coulson and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

"Whoever you are, stop hiding," Mack yelled out. "We know you're here. Show yourself."

Suddenly, a dark, modulated voice echoed through the entire room. "I'm not your enemy, Agent Mackenzie."

The agents startled at the voice as they all held up their guns, scanning the room for the source of the voice, not that they were able to find it. Mack, however, was more shocked as to how this person knew who he was.

"How do you know who I am?" Mack demanded.

"I know who all of you are," the voice echoed through the entire building. "Phillip Coulson, Rebecca Piper, James Davis. I would go on but I think you get the point."

Two of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Piper and Davis, exchanged shocked glances.

"Who the hell is this guy?" Piper whispered.

"No idea. How does he even know who we are?" Davis asked.

"Don't look at me, I don't know." Piper replied.

"This is your last chance," Mack yelled out. "Turn yourself in or we will open fire!"

"I don't have time for this." the voice sighed.

Then, out of nowhere, three sets of grey, metal, cylinder-shaped devices rolled across the floor as Coulson, Mack and the agents all stared at the devices in horror.

"Grenade!" Coulson yelled out as the devices went off.

However, instead of setting off an explosion, the devices released tons of gas: smoke. The smoke spread throughout the entire living room, clouding the agents' visions as all they saw were dark figures, barely indicating each others' presence. The smoke went viral as it spread room to room, clouding the entire building. Then, the agents saw a flash of orange light as they heard a whooshing sound, indicating the man's absence.

"He's gone!" Davis yelled out.

"We got bigger problems right now!" Mack yelled back.

"Everyone open the windows and the doors," Coulson ordered. "It'll get the smoke out!"

The agents all obeyed Coulson's instructions as they opened the windows and the doors in the building, hoping the smoke would clear. Slowly, the smoke flowed out the building, through the windows and into the open air. The room was finally clear again as Coulson, Mack and the agents all exchanged glances.

"Who the hell was that?" Piper exclaimed.

"I don't know," Coulson admitted. "He's new, some unknown vigilante and he just vanished."

"Yeah and guess what he took with him." Mack sighed.

All the agents noticed that the Watchdog soldiers' machine guns were gone, and the vigilante had taken them.

"Why would this speed guy take the Watchdogs' guns? What would he want with them?" Davis asked.

"I don't know," Coulson said as he turned to face Mack. "Better tell the Director."

"He's not going to be happy about this." Mack said.

"About what? The fact that there's a vigilante with super speed on the loose, that we couldn't catch him, that we don't know anything about him or that he just did our mission for us? Which one?" Coulson asked.

"All of 'em." Mack replied dryly.

Later

Flashcave

Barry set his helmet and his gloves on the table as he was dressed in his suit, only without the helmet and gloves, revealing his hands and face. Barry then took one of the machine guns he had 'borrowed' from the Watchdogs as he placed it on another table, full of scanners and other forms of scanning equipment.

"Gideon." Barry called out.

"Yes, Barry Allen?" Gideon asked.

"Run a scan on the gun, get me the details once I come back." Barry ordered.

"Of course, I take it you will still not be sleeping?" Gideon inquired.

"No, I have work to do." Barry replied.

"Very well." Gideon said.

Barry typed quickly into the computer, searching for evidence on corrupt members of New York City's justice system. He knew that there had to be corrupt members in the court, especially the D.A. as per Jacob Smith's words. Barry would find them, all of them. He wouldn't rest until he had hunt down all of them and bring them all to justice. Barry didn't care how far he had to go, he would never rest until his mission was complete. Even if it meant that there was no completing the mission.

Elsewhere

New York City

4:37 am

On the rooftop of the Playground, Phil Coulson, Alphonso Mackenzie, Tony Stark, James Rhodes and Jeffrey Mace (the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.) walked together as a pack of people. Coulson and Mack had just explained to Mace, Rhodey and Tony what had happened during their mission. They told the trio everything, about the vigilante, the smoke bombs, the super speed, everything. There was nothing about the mission, they didn't tell them. The group kept walking across the rooftop as Tony began speaking suddenly.

"So let me get this straight," Tony said in a as-a-matter-of-fact tone. "The guy takes out the Watchdogs and this Smith guy, beats them all to pulps. You guys go in, you look for him, smoke comes everywhere, the guy takes the guns and he's gone?"

"That would be a very, very simple way of putting it, yeah." Coulson agreed.

"What do we do about this guy?" Rhodey asked.

"Yeah, I mean, can we trust him?" Mack asked as they all faced Mace.

"I'm not sure," the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. admitted. "He did aid us in capturing a powerful lieutenant of the Watchdogs and some corrupt members of the justice system in this city just now."

"Just now, what're you talking about?" Tony asked curiously.

"I just got a report about some corrupt members of the city's D.A. begin put behind bars," Mace said, shocking the entire group. "The people claimed to have been captured by a streak of orange lightning and a man dressed in a black, metal-armored suit."

"Kinda matches our guy's description." Mack pointed out.

"So..." Rhodey said. "...do we trust him or no?"

"He seems to have somewhat good intentions," Mace admitted. "But I'm hesitant about him. For now, we hunt him. I wanna know everything about him, who he is, what his powers, when he went through Terrigenesis. I mean, he's gotta be an Inhuman."

"Only reasonable explanation." Coulson agreed.

"Right, I wanna know everything," Mace ordered. "If he seems good enough, maybe then, we can trust him."

"But for now, you guys are going after him?" Tony asked.

"That would be our plan of action as of now, Mr. Stark." Mace said respectfully.

"Honestly, Director," Rhodey sighed. "I've been down this road before. The vigilante always becomes the hero, it's superhero stuff 101."

"Captain America was a hero, Mr. Rhodes," Mace said. "He was the white knight of America and now, he's a lawbreaking fugitive on the run. If there's anything a world with superheroes has taught us, it's that things don't always go the way we expect them to. We have to be prepared for every possibility, we need to expect the unexpected."

"Okay then." Rhodey said as Coulson then spotted something in the corner of his eye.

Coulson then stepped forward, Mack and Mace on his right while Tony and Rhodes were on his left. The five men all stared at what Coulson was seeing: it was the vigilante, standing on the roof of building, far away.

"Is that..." Rhodey began. "...him?"

"Oh that's definitely him." Mack replied.

"Damn." Mace whispered.

"Who is he?" Tony asked.

Coulson then responded with the answer he thought was best, for now. "I don't know yet, but something tells that we'll know. And that we'll like it."

"Like it how?" Mace asked.

"In a way where he's not our enemy," Coulson replied. "A way where he's our friend, an ally, a protector, a guardian. Whatever we need him to be."

"So this guy could be on our side?" Rhodey asked as he and everyone else continued staring at the sight of the vigilante.

"Guess we'll see." Coulson said.

On the other side of New York City, many city blocks away, The Flash stood on the rooftop of a building, gazing down on the rest of New York City below him. Flash gazed down at the building where Coulson, Mack, Rhodey, Tony and Mace all stood on the rooftop, watching him closely. Flash knew what this meant, S.H.I.E.L.D. would hunt him, they would go after him. The same way they had been going after this new 'Quake' vigilante. Flash didn't care, he would take it, he would handle. This was only the beginning of his mission, this was only the arrival of The Flash and he was just getting started.

A/N: That's it for this chapter, hope you enjoyed and I hope you're liking this story.

The bar scene was inspired by a scene from the animated movie Batman: Year One. The ending of this chapter was inspired by the series finale of the TV Show Gotham.

For those of you already know about the Piper character, I know that her first name isn't revealed. So, I decided to give her a made-up first name. It kinda made sense to me for Barry to know Piper's full name than just her last one if he's going to put a good first impression on S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yes, Tony Stark and Rhodey, Iron Man and War Machine are here. I decided to have a cameo with them. I will use them as well as some of the Avengers later in this story and in this series.
