A/N: So in this story I currently don't have a pairing so I'm going to leave to you guys, give me answers out of Kanao Tsuyuri, Shinobu Kocho, Mitsuri Kanroji, no I won't add Nezuko and no I won't make it a harem, those are the choices and I know I've restricted it a lot since most female characters are demons but please keep it a human for the female choice.

-Rengoku estate-

Sat in a large tree in the backyard of the Rengoku estate was a blonde haired teen with orange eyes, kind of like his elder brother and his younger, his elder brother being the current flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, his younger brother being Senjuro Rengoku, his name was Naruto Rengoku, though he was kind of upset his first name didn't have Juro at the end he still liked his name, after all it was the last name his mother spoke before passing after the birth of Senjuro, Naruto sat there with his eyes closed before they shot open and looked around the garden and focused on the patio, as he stared there he saw someone he hadn't seen in a while, his brother, after all his brother usually stayed with the other Hashira's when he wasn't on missions, he jumped out the tree and walked towards his brother before speaking "Hey there Kyojuro-nii" he said with a small amount of respect. Kyojuro looked to his younger brother and smiled.

"Hello Naruto, still plan on becoming a Demon Slayer?" Asked Kyojuro getting a small nod from Naruto, Kyojuro seemed interested "Why do you wish to be a Demon Slayer?" Kyojuro asked making Naruto sit next to him in what they dubbed Naruto's thinking position, all Naruto would do was stare off while rubbing his chin before he punches his palm.

"I wish to protect, I wish to make new friends and I wish to journey, I also plan to master the breathing style you taught me and becoming the next Hashira with some of the techniques I will make" Naruto said surprising the Flame Hashira at Naruto's goals, Kyojuro nodded slightly and chuckled a little before he stood up.

"Then I believe before the Final Selection begins we should see what you can do then, little brother" Kyojuro said as he stood up and walked to the centre of the garden, Naruto did the same and stood opposite Kyojuro, this made Kyojuro gain a serious expression as Naruto's body was definitely stronger than when they had their last spar several years ago, after all Naruto was 13 and able to make Kyojuro sweat a little, so obviously 3 years to train and improve would make him stronger but Naruto wasn't the only one training, Kyojuro spent a lot of time training as well. Kyojuro then saw in the corner of his eye his youngest brother Senjuro, he smirked as he saw Senjuro's eyes sparkle at being able to witness his elder brother's having a spar.

As if on an unspoken signal both Naruto and Kyojuro unsheathed their katana's and stood there in the starting stances for the Flame Breathing style, the two stared each other down before Naruto took a deep breath through his mouth and said "Go no Kata: Enko" (Fifth form: Flame tiger) Once Naruto said that he made into a dash as he made multiple slashes at Kyojuro surprising him at the speed but he was able to block them all, after Kyojuro blocked the hits he took a deep breath himself and raised his blade.

"San no Kata: Kien Bansho" (Third Form: Blazing Universe) As soon as he said that he made a downward slash towards Naruto who blocked it and slightly parried it by tilting his sword to the side and making Kyojuro's blade following along the side, after Naruto got the block he slashed at Kyojuro and was stopped when he felt the resistance of Kyojuro's sword, once feeling it Naruto backed up and started to center himself while focusing on Kyojuro, after both centered themselves they both broke into a sprint towards the other, Kyojuro swung and Naruto blocked and then the opposite, only problem was is that Naruto knew he wouldn't be able to keep up with his brother's strength and pulled away from their sword lock and Naruto took a deep breath, once he took it he looked at Kyojuro and smirked.

He put his sword to his side and Senjuro recognized the stance from watching Naruto train it, Naruto closed his eyes and then spoke "Roku no Kata: Kien Kitsune" (Sixth form: Blazing Fox A/N: If someone knows what it would really be please tell me in the reviews) Naruto dashed forward and pulled his sword behind his back before swapping it to his left hand and when he saw Kyojuro go to block on the left quickly swapped to the right and put his blade to Kyojuro's neck "I win Kyojuro-nii" Naruto said and stared at Kyojuro, to his surprise Kyojuro started to laugh and Naruto kept his blade there. Until he felt a blade at his own neck making him sigh.

"No Naruto, I win, you forgot I'm still faster" Kyojuro said as Naruto nodded looking at where Kyojuro was, Naruto sheathed his blade and muttered you win as Kyojuro smiled "Though I really liked the look of the last move you used, what was it?" Kyojuro asked as Naruto looked at the flame Hashira stunned.

"I call it Kien Kitsune, it's a more trickster and speed based version of Enko" Naruto replied referring to the swapping the blade from on side to the other "If you get it down fast enough I believe it could beat anyone" Naruto replied and that's when he heard clapping from the building and looked over to see Senjuro "How long have you been there Senjuro?" Asked Naruto and Kyojuro answered instead.

"He watched the whole sparring match" Kyojuro said and chuckled at Naruto's stunned look as Senjuro nodded.

"Hey Kyojuro-nii, what happened to Mitsuri-chan?" Naruto asked wondering about Kyojuro's old pupil who would follow him about "I was kind of expecting her to follow you around like she usually does" Naruto finished as Kyojuro chuckled.

"Mitsuri became a Hashira as well, in fact she got a new breathing style Hashira spot as the Love Hashira" Rengoku said making Naruto nod as he looked to his brother and chuckled a little.

"See we told her she'd become a Hashira, I just didn't expect her to become a new Hashira so soon" Naruto said as Rengoku chuckled at him.

"Naruto, I would like to ask something" Rengoku said making Naruto nod "When you become a Demon Slayer, I would like for you to be my apprentice, would you do your big brother the honors?" The Flame Hashira asked surprising everyone in earshot. Naruto seemed the most surprised though and thought it over.

"Will I have to join you on high end missions? And what type of training will we do?" Naruto asked seriously as he started into Kyojuro's eyes.

"You would be following me on all missions but if I deem the opponent to strong for you to handle I will send you to go get back up, as for training, you will be following a schedule I come up with for you to increase your breathing capacity, strength and speed" Kyojuro said as Naruto nodded and started to think more seriously about this.

After 10 minutes Naruto finished weighing the Pros and Cons of being Kyojuro's apprentice before he spoke "I will be your apprentice as long as you promise to train me harder then I could ever train myself" Naruto said making Kyojuro nod, Naruto then continued "And when I get a mission you don't follow me on it" Naruto said making Kyojuro nod again and Naruto smiled and held out his hand "Then I accept to be your apprentice Kyojuro-nii" Kyojuro smiled brightly as he shook Naruto's hand and chuckled.

"Well then you'd best start heading to Final Selection, after all it starts in a week and I want you to have a couple days rest before doing the selection" Kyojuro said as Naruto nodded slightly, after nodding Naruto walked into the house after ruffling Senjuro's hair much to Senjuro's annoyance, Naruto walked to his room and started to pack some clothes to change into and kept his katana at his side, he was about to close his bag when he heard a gruff cough from the door.

"Yes Tou-sama?" Naruto asked neutrally to the man who held the least amount of his respect.

"So you're going to become a waste of space like Kyojuro huh?" His father hissed as Naruto glared at him "Don't give me that look boy, it's only a matter of time before your brother and you die" Shinjuro said as Naruto closed his bag and put it on his back and then walked past his father.

"Maybe you were a terrible slayer then tou-sama, but I swear it on kaa-sama's name I will become the best slayer and kill all demons" Naruto growled as he walked past and out of the Rengoku estate leaving behind a stunned Shinjuro as he let a small smile appear on his face.

"You're too much like your kaa-chan" Shinjuro muttered to himself remembering his wife's energetic personality, Shinjuro just sighed as he walked off into the living area of the estate.

-1 week later, Final Selection-

Naruto stood on the mountain where the Final Selection takes place, the mountains name is Fujikasane Mountain, the mountain was surrounded by Wisteria trees which were the only repellent to demons, although it worked mainly on demons it also affected humans and could poison them, Naruto looked around and took note of a lot of the examinees, one that caught his attention was a boy with auburn hair and a red scar on his forehead wearing a haori with waves on it, another was a girl with a small figure with flowers on her, there was another blonde who looked scared, his haori was covered in lightning strikes and someone without a shirt? Naruto was confused about the last one. Naruto stood there in a Haori with large flames coming from the bottom which curled into a ball in the middle, as he waited for the exams to start he noticed a short girl with black hair and what seemed to be her twin next to her, he assumed they were the examinees as they didn't look prepared for the exam at all, that's when Hinaki spoke up.

"Welcome all examinees to the final selection" she said and Kiriya continued "The exam is simple and the rules are simpler, you must survive 7 days on this mountain and not leave" Hinaki continued "If you leave the mountain you will be disqualified and if you die on the mountain you are disqualified" Kiriya one continued "And on these mountains are different demons that may have lived for hundreds of years" and they finished together "Good luck all participants if you survive you will become a demon slayer" and with that they both walked off, Naruto looked around before starting to walk through the crowd and into the forest and then started to run through the forest dodging trees and their roots as he ran, until he encountered his first demon, he took a deep breath before he used a tree to boost himself forward and cut the head of the demon off using the First Form Unknowing Fire.

'This is the start of the exams and I want, no need to survive' He thought to himself as he started to hunt more demons down, while he was running he realized that small amounts of moon light were even hitting the forest floor "So you have all survived up here because the sun light can't affect you and reach you?" He asked to seemingly no one as he then saw two demons break into a sprint from the tree line, he scoffed and took a deep breath as he muttered "Go no Kata: Enko" After muttering that he was on the opposite side of the demons and their heads fell to the ground as they turned to dust, Naruto climbed to a tree branch and sat there for a moment as he used the scent from the demon's dying to hide his own scent and sat in the tree, he sighed as he looked around and opened his bag showing he had some fruits he bought and ate an apple as he looked in thought 'I just have to survive 7 days using traps, my knowledge on demons and also my own strength' He thought as he looked down the tree and saw someone else 'I guess I could make allies' He thought to himself and then jumped off the branch, he landed next to the person who seemed to be sniffing the air like a dog "Are you a dog person?" Naruto asked making the person jump and turn around.

When he turned around Naruto realized it was the first person to peak his interest out of the other examinees "You have a strong nose?" Naruto asked and made the person nod, Naruto chuckled and continued "Well water boy, I'm Naruto, I won't tell you my last name as that wouldn't be useful" Naruto said as he sat down and passed the boy an apple, the boy accepted as he continued.

"Tanjiro Kamado, not water boy, though I use water breathing" Tanjiro said as Naruto nodded.

"Yeah I guessed from your haori and the fox mask, Kyojuro-nii said that there is always water style users who wear fox masks coming from Urokodaki these days, even the water Hashira was taught by Urokodaki" Naruto said surprising Tanjiro at his knowledge, Naruto sat there for a moment as he jumped up "I use flame breathing, though don't mix it up with fire breathing as fire breathing doesn't exist to our knowledge" Naruto said as he patted down his clothes and started to walk before freezing as his ear twitched "There's more demons coming" he muttered as he held his katana's handle "be ready Tanjiro" Naruto said as he took a deep breath and then looked to where they were coming from "3 demons and 2 of us, I mean this is over kill on our side" Naruto muttered as he drew his sword and looked to Tanjiro to seem him holding his blade in a ready position, Naruto took one final deep breath before kicking off the floor and muttering "Ichi no Kata: Shiranui" (First form: Unknowing Fire) after muttering that Naruto took off one of the demons head and then took another deep breath before muttering "Ni no Kata: Nobori en Ten" (Second form: Rising Scorching Sun) after finishing he heard Tanjiro say "Ni no Kata: Mizu Guruma" (Second form: Water wheel) after Naruto heard that he saw the head of the one in the air fall to the ground and Naruto smirked as he took a final breath and whispered "Go no Kata: Enko" after finishing he cut the limbs of the final demon and then the demons head off and chuckled "All done huh Tanjiro?" Naruto said as he turned to face a stunned Tanjiro.

"You just used 3 moves in succession without needing a huge breather?" Asked Tanjiro as Naruto nodded and then rubbed his head.

"I know I'm not as good as my nii-san but I will one day" Naruto said as Tanjiro was even more stunned "Kyojuro-nii can use like 6 or 7 before he needs to back off to take a deep breath" Naruto said as Tanjiro just nodded dumbly.

-Timeskip, end of the selection-

Naruto looked to the boy with a small smirk as he picked him up on his back "Come on Tanjiro, we have to get out of the forest after all you just killed the strongest demon in here" Naruto said as he looked up to see the sun rising "And that's the week over" Naruto muttered as he carried his bag on his front and Tanjiro on his back, once he had Tanjiro in a good position Naruto kicked off of the floor and ran towards the way they came in, 10 minutes into the run he heard Tanjiro ask if he did it, Naruto nodded and replied "Yep, you killed the hand demon" Naruto said with a grin as Tanjiro smiled himself, Naruto stopped and let Tanjiro off his back and they started to run along side each other, this continued for another 10 minutes before the broke through the tree line and appeared where the rest of the exam finishers were, Naruto looked around and frowned as Tanjiro looked around.

"Only 5 of us? We had 21 when we started" Tanjiro said as Naruto nodded and tried to find the one Tanjiro saved.

"The guy you saved didn't make it" Naruto muttered as Tanjiro stiffened and looked around to see Naruto was right. They stood in silence until Naruto heard the examiners and looked to them to see a table with ores on it "Scarlet ore" Naruto said as he saw the ores and smirked, he walked over and looked at the ores as Tanjiro asked.

"What's Scarlet ore?" Naruto looked at him for a moment before replying.

"Scarlet ore is a unique ore that absorbs sunlight, they are the only way to make Nichirin swords that can be used against a demon and kill them without having to wait for Sunlight, I'm guessing you used Urokodaki's sword here?" Naruto asked getting a nod from Tanjiro "That's his Nichirin blade, they are all unique to the user as they change colors allowing a way to tell the difference" Naruto said making Tanjiro nod while the two siblings at the front were stunned at his knowledge before they saw his features and realized who he is.

"You're Kyojuro's younger brother?" Asked Hinaki making Naruto smirk and nod.

"Yep I'm his younger brother and soon to be apprentice, I assume you two are children of Ubuyashiki-sama?" Naruto asked making the two nod and Naruto chuckled and smiled at them "Nice to meet you too" Naruto said before putting his hand on a smaller ore of the scarlet ore "I'll take this ore if that's fine" Naruto said as he took it and shook it next to his ear making him smirk and then stash it up his Haori's sleeve as he backed away, after everyone else picked up their ores they were handed their uniforms with Mizunoto on the back in Kanji Naruto smirked at his as he picked it up and put it in his backpack and started to walk away "I'll see you all some other time" he said waving over his shoulder as he started to go down the stairs.

A/N: Tell me what you think of the start, and the fight scene as I believe I'm not the best at fight scenes when writing.
