Disclaimer: I don't own high school DxD nor any other anime franchises some references might come from, if I did I wouldn't be here trying to write this.

*pant*...*pant*...*pant*...

those were the only sounds that could be heard in the unnaturally quiet forest, these sounds were coming from a young boy that could around 8 years old, he had light silver hair and hazel eyes, he is currently wearing a dark green t-shirt and black shorts and black shoes, the particular thing was that his clothes were on tatters and covered in blood and the boy himself had a lot of bruises and cuts all around his body and right he was leaning against a tree a regaining his breath and trying to shake off some dizziness.

This boy here that appeared to be running for his life is Vali Lucifer, the son of Ravezan Lucifer, Grandson of Rivezim Livan Lucifer, and Great-grandson of THE Lucifer himself, and the reason for his current appearance was because he is actually running for his life, escaping from devils that served his grandfather and they were pursuing him after he escaped from the abuse of his father on the orders of his grandfather, he has been on the run for many hours now but right he seems to be hitting his limit.

{c'mon Vali, get up, you're almost there if you keep going, you'll be free} spoke a grave voice inside the mind of Vali with a tone of urgency and slight worry. The voice that spoke was Albion, more commonly known as the White Dragon Emperor that during the great war between angels, devils, and fallen angels, started a fight with his sworn rival, Ddraig, the red dragon Emperor, that caused all three factions to come together to slay them and their souls to be sealed inside artifacts created by the God of the Bible called Sacred gears and bestowed to humanity as a way to enact miracles.

"I know Albion, *pant*... I know, just give me some time to regain my breath, this is the first time using the Divine Dividing and it took a lot of me" said vali while standing up from the tree he was leaning on and started to walk through the dark forest ahead.

{that's the thing Vali, you don't have time, the devils are almost onto you, you don't have enough mastery over the wings so you can't use their top speed and while your flying speed is faster than the devils you aren't fast enough for them to completely lose your trail} Albion explained to Vali, and he understood now why the urgency of his voice earlier.

"I see… I guess there no choice then, I just hope I'll be able to maintain it a while longer" Vali signed and then summoned his sacred gear, Divine Dividing, a pair of white dragon wings with eight blue energy "feathers". It was with this that he managed to escape from his father's grasp after the death of his human mother a week ago, Vali managed to divide his father's strength and blasted him with his demonic power knocking Ravezan out, and at that moment vali made a run for it and has been running away for hours now.

back to the present, vali was starting to take flight once again but before he could gain any more distance he was suddenly hit with a blast of demonic power directly to the wings and dismissing them, Vali hit the ground and let out a pained groan due to landing on some of his injuries and before he could get up, he was kicked on his stomach and making him turn to his back on the ground just to see the faces of a group of devils sneering at him.

"Finally gave up running huh. You filthy half breed, I don't even why lord Rivezim even bothered to order us to bring you back alive, if it were up to us we would have already killed you but lord Rivezim orders are absolute so you are coming back with us'" the apparent leader of the group of devils spoke with a face full of disgust while looking down at Vali who was trying to get up only to get kicked again.

Vali started to lose consciousness due to both his injuries and the exhaustion caused by the usage of his sacred gear {I'm sorry vali, that was the last of your strength, you won't be able to resummon the gear in your current condition and other options would kill you before you could something else about this situation, I don't have ways to help you} Albion apologized to his host and Vali could hear that the Dragon was truly sorry about this situation

'No… please I don't want to die, not yet… not until I get my revenge' those were the thoughts of Vali who could feel his consciousness slipping away, his eyelids getting heavier as he struggling to keep them open but to no avail, but before he could fully lose consciousness, he noticed what appeared a… red magic circle? And from said magic circle came out a figure, a man that appeared to be in his early twenties with crimson red hair and blue eyes with a hint of green that seemed to almost glowing in the dark, it was then that fully passed out.

Sirzechs Lucifer was tired, mentally more than anything, being the satan that is in charge of the internal affairs of the devil government can be that way, sometimes he wonders what the hell he was thinking when decided to take the role of Satan Lucifer but then remembered that there wasn't anyone else of filling up the role of Lucifer so he kept going, his biggest headache at the moment was the council of devil elders, they are starting to push towards the idea of setting up an arranged marriage between the young generation of House heirs, especially the houses of Agares, Bael, Glaslya-Labolas, Phenex, Astaroth, Sitri and… Gremory.

Sirzechs signed to that, he doesn't agree with this, especially considering that they want to set her cute little sister with someone she doesn't even know 'or anyone for that matter, nobody deserves to be with her, let alone marry her' Sirchezs scoffed at the idea but the elders are too insistent on the matter saying that not doing anything will lead to the extinction of the purebloods devils.

Sirzechs knows that the elders are just afraid that the reincarnated devils would become the majority of the devil society and overthrow the purebloods, and the worst part is that Sirchezs wouldn't blame the reincarnated devils if they were to do such a thing.

There is a reason why the Gremory family is famous for treating their servants as family, and that's because other houses don't, sure other houses do treat their servants with respect and even kindness but very few come close to the Gremory famed love, but that doesn't change the fact that the majority of the reincarnated devils are mistreated.

Sirzechs alongside the Satans, Serafall Sitri who took the title of Leviathan, Falbium Glaslya-Labolas who was named the current Asmodeus, and finally Sirchezs best friend and the inventor of the Evil piece system that is used for the reincarnation of devils Ajuka Astaroth who took the position of Beelzebub, have been fighting for the rights of reincarnated devils but they don't hold too much power to enforce this with elders.

Sirzechs sometimes wishes that he could just eliminate them with his Power of Destruction (PoD) and be done with but they barely survived a civil war and he doesn't want another one knowing that if it were to happen then the devil race will surely go towards extinction.

Getting up from his seat to fix himself a drink to calm his nerves but before he could do it he suddenly stopped as he felt a signature near the wards that were around the Lucifer territory he had claimed after his coronation as Lucifer, he felt a weak signature of what appeared to be a devil but with something else he couldn't place for a moment until it hit him 'a sacred gear? And it's a powerful one, possibly a Longinus but how did it come into the possession of a devil?', what caught his attention was the fact this signature came from a direction where there was rumored activity from the Old Satan Faction.

He decide that he was going to investigate on his own, there was the possibility of being a trap against himself but the possible threat of a devil wielding a Longinus that's allied with the Old Satan Faction is something he can't ignore, he could also call his peerage for assistance but right now they aren't available and he couldn't afford to wait for them, even his Lovely wife and Queen, Grayfia was unavailable, today he gave her the day off her duties and went to spend some time with her mother and sister in law, Venelana and Rias Gremory.

So with his decision made, he opened a transportation magic circle and to his destination, and just a couple of seconds later he reappeared behind what seemed to be a group of devils surrounding what appeared to be a… 8-year-old boy?

His magic circle caught the attention of the group of devils and the moment they saw him they paled and started to tremble and sweating bullets, "W...w...what is HE doing HERE?!" exclaimed one from the group towards one of his comrades of devils towards his comrades but the others were not in a better situation, all of them knew the man in front of them and they knew that he is stronger than even their master, even if they would never admit that. and before somebody else could utter another world they started to faint and all of them fell unconscious.

Sirzechs lowered his hand and dispelling the magic circle in it, hypnosis magic was really useful when he didn't feel like fighting and he was good with it, it even worked on Grayfia who is a Satan class devil and he still managed to put her asleep with it, granted he had to face her fury after she woke up but still, to be able to affect her was an achievement to him.

he decided to put every single devil there to sleep and maybe get some information about the old satan faction and also to learn the reason why they were after a boy, speaking of the boy, he was still unconscious, so he decided to check up on the boy, he seemed to be mostly fine, if you exclude all the bruises and gashes that covered his body, but overall there is nothing fatal, amidst his scans Sirchezs discovered that this boy is the source of the signature he got back in his castle and that meant that this boy was the wielder of a sacred gear, 'But that would be impossible, devils were capable of being born with sacred gears only humans can, so either somehow this kid reincarnated into a devil…' in was then that Sirchezs took a good look a the boy's face and his eyes widen in both surprise and recognition, he has this same face before during the civil war just the person was a lot more older that this boy before him and then it clicked inside his mind '... or he's a devil/human hybrid, that would explain as to why he was being pursuited, the Old Satan Faction would never tolerate the existence of a hybrid even if he were to carry the blood of Lucifer, they are more concerned about their pureblood status even more that elders in the current devil council if that's somehow possible and they outright rejected the evil piece system as well, but first i need to confirm my suspicions' those were the thoughts of Sirchezs before gently picking up the boy in a bridal stile and then teleporting back to his castle, he will send someone later to pick up the group from the old satan faction later, taking care of the boy takes priority.

When Vali woke, he expected to be in some form of cell or dungeon back in the castle of his grandfather or to simply not wake up at all, yet he never expected to be in what he could call the fanciest bedroom he's ever been.

'Albion? Are you there? Where are we?' Vali rapidly fired all these questions to Albion while he looked around his surroundings and his guard up, he could feel Albion waking up from his slumber.

{I'm here partner, we are apparently in Lucifer castle…} Albion could feel that Vali was starting to panic so he tried to reassure him {Calm down partner, this isn't the home of your grandfather, rather the home of the other Lucifer or how your father calls him, 'The Fake one' Sirzechs Lucifer I believe his name was}

'And how did we get here, did he bring us here?' spoke to Albion through their mental link while he was getting from the bed he was resting at, he also noticed that his injuries were gone, most likely healed, and while Vali was inspecting the rest of his body for any lingering injury Albion answered his previous question, {apparently after you passed out he arrived and dealt with the devils surrounding you, after that he carried you and brought you here to heal you and let you rest}

'what should I do now' Vali asked after digesting the information Albion have him {he will be here any minute now to check on you, let's see what are his intentions with you and we'll go from there, I felt no ill intentions towards you so we can at least hear him out but still don't lower your guard yet, from what I felt he's even stronger than your grandfather and there is no way you can fight someone like that, even if you try to divide his strength as you are right now the wings will immediately overload disabling them}

Vali had to suppress a shiver at that, he had felt the sheer power that his grandfather Rivezim had and knew that it will take many years before he could even challenge him let alone kill him, and to make it worse he also had an ability that supposedly disables any sacred gears so that meant that Albion wouldn't be able to help him, so to hear that this new 'Lucifer' was stronger that his grandfather was a bit terrifying.

Just when he was coming to terms with that he suddenly heard the door being opened and saw a red-haired man with blue eyes with a green tint in them, Vali immediately tensed up but was caught off guard by the warm expression on the man's face so unconsciously he relaxed a little, after all the only other person that looked at him with such a warming expression was… his mother.

He was snapped out of his sad reminiscing when he heard the man speaking to him "I see that you're finally awake, you have been passed for more than a couple of hours, I was starting to get worried" he finished with a small chuckle but stopped at seeing vali seemed a bit uncomfortable and wary.

"I'm sorry about that, maybe I should introduce myself, my name is Sirzechs Lucifer, one of the current Satans but before that, I was known as Sirzechs Gremory, so what's name little guy?" Sirzechs said in a cheerful voice and smile.

Vali hesitated for a moment, should he reveal his heritage? He doesn't know what would the reaction of this man would be if he found out that he was a descendant of the Satan Sirzechs is currently replacing, but considering what Albion told him about him then he would find out about his heritage sooner or later so he decided to take the easy way and comply, for now, so he replied "My name is Vali… Lucifer" he ended with a lower voice and lowering his head a bit.

At the lack of answer he started to get nervous so he decide to look up again and saw the reaction Sirzechs had given him or rather the lack of it, Sirzechs still had the same smile and warm eyes, the only difference was the slight raising of his eyebrows and what appeared to be… amusement?

The confusion on Vali's face must have been obvious when Sirzechs started to chuckle again still with his amused face, "you knew?" Vali couldn't help but ask that question, "I had my suspicions that you were a Lucifer considering how much you look like your grandfather but it's still nice to hear your name" Vali's eyes widened at the fact that this man not only knew of his heritage but also of the fact that he is Rivezim's grandson, "H...how?" Asked a stunned Vali, Sirzechs only chuckled softly and answered "well I have been interrogating that group of devils that were after you and they have been very informative, a devil-human hybrid descendant of the original Lucifer and the current holder of the Divine dividing making you the current White Dragon Emperor, what an unexpected event, the chances of existence should be impossible yet here you are"

If Vali was on alert before then right now he is right now on a verge of a panic attack, he never would have thought that Sirzechs would find out about his sacred gear so soon, he hoped he could hide that for a bit longer, "w… wh… what are you going to do with me" Vali said with a bit stutter at the start but managed to compose himself at the end although he didn't notice that his body was trembling slightly, he was thinking on what Sirzechs would do to him, from killing him so he can't be a threat to his position, keep him alive as some form of bargaining chip to be used against his grandfather or to be experimented on.

It was official, he was terrified.

Sirzechs noticed that Vali was trembling so decided to comfort the child, he came close to Vali and lifted his arm to Vali's head level and saw him flinch, which made Sirzechs frown, the information he got from the Old Satan Faction devils gave him a bit of an insight into how was Vali's life but seeing the pure terror that Vali was experiencing means they must have downplayed the amount of abuse Vali must have gone through and that made him angry, a child doesn't deserve this kind of treatment no matter what.

He considered this child a miracle, it's kinda ironic considering that this miracle was a benefit for the devil faction, he believes that this child could be a better Satan than him, Vali already has the blood of one and adding also the power of the Vanishing Dragon and Vali could even surpass him as a Super devil and he will make sure of it.

Yes, Sirzechs has already decided to adopt Vali, and nobody will oppose it, after all, who better raise a Lucifer than the current Lucifer, he will guide him and give him the love he deserves, 'I guess that I and Grayfia will get to be parents a few months sooner than expected' were the thoughts of Sirzechs.

Sirzechs snapped from his thoughts when he saw the still trembling Vali was beginning to shed tears and that did it, he embraced Vali on a hug and could feel Vali stiffening so he decided to comfort him, "I'm sorry if I scared you, it wasn't my intention and I swear upon my name of Sirzechs Lucifer that I will never hurt in any way nor I will let anyone else hurt you, I don't care if you are the descendant of the original Lucifer or that you're a hybrid with a sacred gear I wish to adopt you"

Vali's eyes widened after that, "why would do that?" Asked Vali with a bit of a shaky voice, one of the things he craved was a loving family, especially after the death of her mother. "No child deserves to go what you went through and also because I believe in the potential that you have, you could be someone that even surpasses me and I want to make sure that happens" was what Sirzechs said

"So? What do you say? You want to be part of my family?" Sirzechs asked with a cheerful smile while still hugging him and patting his back, "I…I… guess so, I don't have anywhere else to go" Vali spoke hesitantly while trying to dry his tears, "I swear that you won't regret it, now come there is someone else I would like you to meet" Sirzechs said while separating himself Vali, grabbing his hand and guiding outside the room, Vali didn't put any resistance at all it wouldn't matter anyway against someone like Sirzechs.

They exited the room and headed to what seemed like the main hall, where someone else was waiting.

Vali was distracted admiring the decorations of the castle whirl they were walking that he never say the person they were supposed to meet, that is until she spoke.

"Is that him dear? Oh my he looks so cute" a woman whose beauty was matched by very few people, she had silver hair much like his own that reached to her back and had a long braid on each side of her beautiful face with small blue bows at the end of it, she had red eyes that shined like rubies and also wore red lipstick, she appeared to be wearing loose clothing and the reason for it was her belly, the woman was pregnant and by the size of the bump, she seemed at least into her 4 months.

This woman was none other than Grayfia Lucifuge,' The Silver-haired Queen of Annihilation', she is Sirchezs's Queen, Maid, and Wife (not necessarily in that order).

Vali was hiding behind Sirchezs, a wave of shyness suddenly with him and this only made Sirzechs giggle a bit but was quickly shut up by a stern frown from Grayfia, she quickly softened her gaze and walked towards Vali, while he still kept his head down, a sad expression invaded Grayfia's face, she now understood why her husband was pretty adamant on adopting Vali, at first she was a bit hesitant on the matter, considering her family's history with the Lucifer's but after seeing this poor boy in front of her, her maternal instincts went into overdrive and any doubt on adopting the boy was gone.

"Hello Vali, my name is Grayfia Lucifuge and I wanted to welcome you to your new home" Grayfia spoke in a soft yet warm voice, Vali looked up to see her face and was caught off guard by the warm expression on her face, for Grayfia the stunned look on Vali's face was too much for her and she brought him into a hug while caressing the silver locks of his hair.

Vali got himself lost on the warm embrace of Grayfia that he didn't even notice that he was also returning the embrace which made Grayfia tighten a bit more her embrace, with a few tears escaping from his eyes he spoke in a soft voice that if it weren't for the sharper senses of devils then Sirzechs and Grayfia would have missed it.

"Thank you"

And that's it for the prologue, I am new to writing and I really wanted to try my hand at writing so I decided to start with this story, it has been an idea that has been in my head for a while now, what if Vali was picked up by Sirzechs instead of Azazel, and this is what I managed to come up with, I find Vali really interesting as a character so I wanted to see how it goes with this new direction, besides I have yet to find a good Vali fic on this site or one in where divine dividing is the 'main sacred gear/companion of the protagonist so decided to give Albion some love I hope that you enjoy it and maybe I can keep updating it.

I want to clarify that English is not my first language so if spot any kind of grammatical error, then let me know, please.

on another topic, Vali will be a bit OOC, he will still hold some of the qualities of the original Vali but it won't be a carbon copy of the canon Vali, he will actually have a peerage and a harem in where both Rossweisse and Kuroka will be members and those members won't change but other spots are open for suggestions, it can be of both genders, I don't believe it would fit Vali to have a peerage made of only his Harem members
