Let's start this off here. Thank you so much for all the love this story got in the YEAR it's been out. Yes its been a whole year since the day chapters 1,2,3, and 4 came out. Many things have changed since then and I hope that this little story and I could be a part of your lives as long as we could. Thank you all so much for inspiring me to write this as I'm sure I've inspired you all.

Let's Be Honest

The star above Krownest lit the glistening snow bright as day broke across the lake outside. The air was still and peaceful as morning came in, well, except for 3 individuals.

Ezra, Yui, and Mai were running around the lake. Why? Early morning endurance training, that's why. Their master had woken them up around 05:00 to start their first official day of training. He'd told the two that the first day would be very lax and that it would be more of learning than training. However, this didn't stop him from having them all run a lap around the lake. Granted, it wasn't a very big lake, but the crisp air made it hard.

Yui and Mai fell back a bit as Ezra reached the 3/4 mark in the run. The lake was situated on a mountain and therefore there was less air to breathe. The padawans were used to warm air when they trained, not freezing cold.

Eventually, the end was in sight. A little log cabin looking house near the lake side. This was their home now. At the front door, Ezra stood talking to Sabine whilst sipping his cup. The two younger girls made their way up to him panting.

"Master Bridger. Couldn't you have given us time to adjust to the weather before running in it?" Mai complained. Yui stayed quiet. She was never one to complain. Much of that was due to her past.

"The more you breathe, the more your lungs work. The harder you breathe, the faster they work. The more they work, the faster they adjust. It took me a couple of weeks of running every morning to get used to air. Sabine over here was born in this frozen wasteland, so she's a natural." This earned him a light swat on the shoulder.

"Even pregnant I can outrun you Master Jedi." Of course she was teasing, the padawans found it fun.

"Really?" Yui asked as she gratefully took her cup.

"No, she can't, she's just stubborn." Ezra turned back to his wife and kissed her lightly. "And please no running while pregnant. The last time you shifted around too much, we got twins. You wanted a boy, so let's try a new method."

Now Yui and Mai were confused. "What do you mean Master?"

The light chuckle he let out didn't answer her question. "Nothing, Yui." He figuer at their question and beckoned them to follow him to the living room. "Come. I guess it's time you learned about me and my past." As the trio walked in, Sabine had all the girls in there too.

Celeste and Anna were drinking some juice while Mira was eating a space waffle. Sabine sat in between all three of her daughters and grinned. "They should have a history lesson too. We haven't told them everything after all."

Once hearing the idea of a story time, Celeste got excited. "Yay! Daddy's gonna tell us a story."

Ezra sighed in defeat and sat in his chair facing his wife, daughters, and padawans. "Well, since Mai and Yui are the newest ones here, they get to ask the first question about me."

Yui thought long and hard. There were plenty of things that she wanted to know. Right as she settled on a question, Mai answered.

"Uh, I want to know about your friend Hondo that we met at the space port on Eldia." The dark haired girl sat back down and prepared to listen.

Sabine shot her husband and questioning look. "Wait, you ran into Hondo?"

"Yea, we needed to refuel and I'd learned that's where he was. Figured he'd help us. Anyway..." He took another sip from his cup. "I met Hondo back when I about your age. He had commandeered a ship that belonged to a business partner of ours." His arm gestured to his wife. "Chopper and I worked with him for the day and we just stayed in touch after that. He was there when we liberated Lothal." A solemn look stayed in his eyes before shaking his head. "Alright, next question."

Celeste's hand shot up before anyone had a chance. "Ooh! ooh! I have one Daddy!"

"Alright, what could that be?"

"Where did you meet Mommy?"

Both adults chuckled. That was an interesting memory. "Sabine, you wanna take this one?"

"Oh no. She asked you Ez." The Mandalorian giggled and wrapped an arm around her children.

With a slight huff, Ezra smiled. "Well, that was not long before I met Hondo, maybe a year. I was their age." He pointed over to his two Padawans. "I'd been just walking around the streets of Lothal and stumbled across the crew of the Ghost pulling a heist. I'd hopped on one of their bikes and took the supplies before they could run off with it. As I drove, a certain colorful Mandalorian landed on the back of my bike and detached the crates."

Before he could continue, Sabine cut him off. "Well, you did take our stuff."

"Yeah, well. How was I supposed to know that you had weapons?" He chuckled as Sabine tossed a pillow at him. "Back to the story. When I got aboard the Ghost, Sabine took her helmet off and I saw that she was a girl."

"And then began the longest two years of my life that you would not stop throwing constant pick up lines at me." She shook her head.

"You see where we ended up. Clearly something worked."

Sabine crossed her arms over her little baby bump and huffed. "Yeah, and I couldn't be happier."

"Next question."

The twins looked at each other and nodded. "We wanna know about your Mommy and Daddy."

Ezra sighed and leaned back. (He sighs a lot doesn't he). Sabine was about to tell them no, but stopped her. "It's alright Sabine. You guys wanna know about my parents? Okay. Let's see. My parents were the most loving parents you could ask for. They always made time to play with me. Much like how I do with you three. Actually, you're named after my mother Mira." He paused as Mira got off the couch and sat on his lap. "When I was about seven or so, my parents were taken by the Empire. They were charged with treason. You see, they were the original voices of freedom on Lothal. Speaking out against a tyrannical leader. In the end, it cost them everything." His lightning blue eyes fell darker at the memory of Ryder telling him of their demise.

The depressing atmosphere was soon rectified by Sabine. "Ok, enough sad stuff. I got a question."

"Oh no. What is it that you ask, my loving wife?" Ezra's smile was soon shared by Mira.

"This one isn't for me. I wanted you to tell the girls how they were named, since you told Mira." She giggled as Celeste huddled up beside her.

"Interesting." He threw a glance to his padawans. "I bet this doesn't interest you two at all."

"No, no. It's fine." Mai smiled.

Yui was next to speak up. "Their names are all over the place, I was wondering where they came from."

"Haha. Okay. Who to start with? Let's do... Anna."

"Yay!" Anna bounced up and down on the couch.

Sabine laughed at her daughter. "Calm down silly."

The warm atmosphere returned as Ezra started. "Of course, you all know that Mira and Anna are twins. One thing you might not know, is that Anna's full name is Cuyanna. 'Cuyan' in Mandalorian means 'survivor'."

Yui looked over at the blonde headed little girl. "Survivor." Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper.

"Anna here was almost lost at birth. Mira came out okay... but Anna wasn't breathing." He picked his other daughter up with the force and set her next to Mira on his lap. "My Master and I worked to bring Anna back to us. Afterwards, Sabine named her Cuyanna."

Anna turned and hugged her Daddy. "Thank you Daddy." She didn't really know what she was thanking him for or the magnitude, but she was taught to always say 'please' and 'thank you'.

"You're welcome baby. Now, Cel." Mira and Anna traded with Celeste and let their younger sister sit with him. "Celeste, as you all know is not our daughter by blood. She's the daughter of one of our dearest friends. Valarie. Valarie was the caretaker of the twins when we first lived here, back when they were infants. Due to complications at birth, she passed on. However, she begged us to take her daughter in. Valarie said that her baby's eyes reminded her of a hyperspace lane. Therefore she named her Celeste." The youngest girl slipped down into the crack between Ezra and the side of the chair and snuggled in.

Yui then spoke up to voice her question. "Master?"

"Yeah, Yui?" Ezra smiled looking up from his daughter.

"What made you become a Jedi? Was it to get your parents back?"

He sat in silence a moment before giving his answer. "Well, at first I was sure they were dead, so I wanted to do my part in helping my people. Then I met an old friend that knew my parents were alive. After a few weeks of hunting, we found someone who might know where they were. He is now the governor of Lothal."

Sabine looked up from her twins. "Ryder."

"Ryder?"

Ezra chuckled at the Padawan's response. His children had met Ryder Azadi on one of their trips to Lothal. "Yep, Ryder Azadi. The current and probably only governor of Lothal for awhile. Ryder was also arrested for treason and was locked up where my parents were. We learned of a breakout and tracked Ryder down. He told me that my parents helped in the breakout, but they didn't make it."

A gloomy mood set in the room as Sabine stood from her couch and hugged her husband. She'd seen him go through a lot of hardships, but nothing was worse than after he lost his parents for good. "Hey, we don't need to talk about that anymore."

Yui felt horrible that she brought it up and let a tear slip. "I'm sorry Master. I-I didn't know."

The Jedi Knight stood and looked over to his youngest padawan. He then opened his arms for a welcoming embrace. "It's alright Yui. We've both been through a lot. I promise you..." He looked over to Mai. "Both of you, this family will take a lot of force to break apart." Yui just wrapped her arms around him and sobbed. However, they were not tears of sorrow, but joy. She had found her new home and a new father to love her.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't know if this is the end or not. I'd like to give it an ending here, but there's so much more to tell. Thanks to all that have stuck around since last year, and as always I hope ye enjoyed.
