Author's Notes.
Hello again. I wasn't quite satisfied with the last chapter so please accept chapter 5. This chapter is shorter than my other chapters by a fair bit. But man was it fun to write. It's a chapter completely dedicated to action and I hope you guys enjoy how I wrote the action in this chapter cause I shook things up a bit and I think it turned out pretty good. That's all for now.
Feedback is always welcome.
I do not own Naruto.
Please Enjoy.
Chapter 5
The five basic chakra natures. The foundation of all elemental ninjutsu. Something so vital to a shinobi that our very nations were named after them.
Every shinobi has an affinity with one of these natures, usually said affinity is passed down via bloodline, making it common for entire clans to share the same affinity. Although shinobi are not restricted to the nature of their affinity, few people have achieved mastery over all five chakra natures due to the sheer amount of training needed to achieve it. There are of course ways to shorten the process of mastery of all five natures.
The possession of the Rinnegan is one such way, since Rinnegan users have a natural affinity with all natures. That affinity also extends to the Tenseigan and as such, me. Of course the advantage given to me by that is limited given the way I fight.
The Gentle Fist is a taijutsu form that attacks the organs of the body directly using regular chakra, so the usage of nature transformations is rather pointless. That's not to say they're completely useless though. Applying a wind transformation increases range, applying a water transformation can increase our defensive capabilities, and the application of lightning transformation is damn good for taking out water clones.
Jūzō's clone charged at me. His sword slicing through the air. I dodged and reached out with my electrified hand. He pulled back, but it was too late. All I need is a slight contact, to catch his clothes, or touch his sword, metal and water are awfully conductive after all.
His clone dissolved into water, and another came to take its place and the cycle continued.
He'd attack, I'd defend and counter attack, and he'd send another clone. It was working. For now.
Neither of us have infinite chakra and I was running low, but so was he. He kept sending more clones, each with less chakra than the last.
I was holding my own. I was holding my own against an S-rank shinobi. Maybe it's because he's injured, maybe it's just because I'm fighting clones, or maybe it's because Kakashi's taking up more of his attention, but I'm not dead yet. Exhausted and hurt, but not dead.
He seemed to realize this was going nowhere. We were at a stalemate, with Kakashi keeping the real him at bay, and his clones not being able to get past me, so he changed his plan.
"Hiding in Mist Jutsu!" he said as he retreated.
Smart. Kakashi's sharingan doesn't give him clairvoyance, and the chakra in the mist will interfere with my chakra vision.
I knew the fight wasn't done but I couldn't help but feel relieved when he disengaged. My sweat was mixing with the blood from my wounds and my breathing was rough, making mist of its own.
I took another deep breath and pulled out a kunai. With the fog limiting my vision, dodging will be harder, and blocking a sword with your bare hands is not smart.
I kept my senses alert. My sight was limited, I can only taste the mist in the air, I've never been one for catching scents, and I'm in too much pain to get anything from touch. Hearing it is then.
It was quiet though. All I could hear was mine and Kakashi's breathing.
Finally something attacked. Two Water clones, opposite sides. One's attacking with a stab, the other a vertical slash.
"Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm!" I shot at the stabbing one and turned to block the slashing one. His blade met my kunai with a loud clang and I dropped to one knee. My leg gave out but I was still holding it back.
My Vacuum Palm cleared the mist so I could see his other clone dissolve into water. It cleared the mist enough that I was able to see Kakashi standing with his electrified hand shoved through the chest of a water clone. I could see it clearly, that his body was tensed up and that his eyes were slightly widened. He froze.
He froze and I didn't have time to know why. Because another Jūzō was in the air and coming down fast, sword prepped to cut Kakashi in two.
