Author's Notes.

This is another short chapter, I didn't really know what to write for this one. Hopefully the chapters will start getting longer when the Chunin Exams actually start. I decided to have Shikaku be the jonin sensei of Shisui, I couldn't find any official mentions of who Shisui's jounin sensei was so I decided to chose someone I thought would fit decently well.

Feedback is always welcome.

I don't own Naruto.

Please enjoy.

Chapter 12

Shisui Uchiha, also known as Shunshin no Shisui, or Shisui of the Body Flicker. One of, if not the most talented Uchiha to ever exist, with only a few select Uchiha being able to match his talent. A genin who has already started gathering fame as a ninja for his mastery of the Shunshin technique, and is also the best friend and older brother figure of Itachi Uchiha.

Despite still being a genin he has better skill than most jounin, and could, arguably, already be considered S-rank. He's one of the only people my age who could beat me, if not the only one. This is why I know of him in my current life. In my previous life I knew of him for very different reasons.

Shisui Uchiha was a fan favorite character despite rarely showing up in the series. He was mainly known for his friendship with Itachi, his possession of the Mangekyo Sharingan, and his role in the Uchiha Clan Downfall.

Although right now, it's getting really hard to see him as anything but an Uchiha kid with an attitude and energy not at all suited for his clan. Not like I'm one to talk, I'm not exactly the perfect picture of a Hyuga.

I had just entered the Third Training Ground to meet my team. It didn't take long to find them, they were the only people there, and, you know, Tenseigan.

Shisui was standing upside down on a tree branch with a big grin on his face, talking to a somewhat flustered Suzu. I made my way over to them. Shisui noticed me first and sent a greeting wave in my direction.

"Hey there!" he greeted, grin still on his face. Suzu turned to face my direction, "Are you our new teammate?" I nodded

"I'm Kei, I'll be your teammate for the Chunin exams."

"Nice to meet you! I'm Shisui Uchiha, and that's Suzu Ide." Suzu sent a greeting grunt. She didn't seem as enthusiastic as Shisui did about my presence.

They both gave me a brief assessing glance, Shisui's was much less obvious, although they both briefly paused on my eyes, I wasn't wearing my sunglasses today. Shisui looked like he wanted to ask something but he didn't say anything. Suzu wasn't quite so reserved.

"Dojutsu?" she said curiously, seeming slightly interested. I nodded. "I've never seen one like that before, what does it do?"

"It's similar to the Byakugan," I answered, "Although it has a few different abilities." I telekinetically lifted a rock off the ground to demonstrate. They're going to be my teammates for a while so they should at least know a bit about what I can do.

"I see you three have already met," a voice from behind me said. I turned around.

While Shisui was the main reason I was interested in this team, there was one more, their Jonin sensei. Shikaku Nara, the current head of the Nara Clan and father of Shikamaru Nara. He's also the only person here who's aware of my true objective. I had noticed him entering the training field before, he didn't try to be stealthy, walking in at a lazy pace that only a Nara could pull off. He sighed as if just being here was tiring.

"Guess that saves time," He lazily spoke out, "Since you three will be together for the Chunin Exams, we're going to do some missions so you guys can become familiar with each other." Shikaku turned away and started lazily walking away, a silent invitation to follow.

I knew this was going to happen. I was alerted beforehand that we'd be doing some missions in preparation and I wasn't looking forward to it because it meant I would have to do something I had been trying to avoid.

One of the few good things about joining Anbu right off the bat was the fact that I didn't have to do these. Missions meant specifically for new teams of genin, and the only missions available for us given the closeness of the Chunin Exams.

D rank missions. Missions that are essentially just neighborhood chores like babysitting, or finding a lost pet. Funny enough they're one of the few things that I have experience in from my past life. I was one of those kids who would go around the neighborhood shoveling driveways, or mowing lawns for money, but that doesn't mean I enjoyed it.

I looked at Shisui and Suzu, who were already moving to follow Shikaku. They either didn't know or didn't care, because they didn't seem fazed at all. I sighed to myself and reluctantly started to follow. Ah yes, an Anbu member, and Shunshin no Shisui doing common house chores, it's almost funny.
