"No!" Harry yelled to Sirius and Remus. Ohhhh how he wants to kill the bastard. Even after planning out what he was going to do, he really wanted to kill the damn rat.
"Harry… This man is…" Remus started but the newly revived Harry cut him off.
"I know what he is, but we'll take him to the castle." The two marauders looked at him like he was mad. The traitor had started to beg, but unlike last time, Harry wasn't about to hear it.
"Stupefy!" The rat took the beam of red right between the eyes. Harry knew that he needed to get out of here fast, he could bloody well explain himself later. He pointed his wand at Snape and stunned the git as well. He hurriedly looked at Remus and demanded an answer.
"Remus, what day is it???" He yelled. He was not letting the rat escape.
"What Harry, why does it…" Harry was not having the obliviousness of his favorite DADA Professor cause any delay.
"Is there a bloody full moon tonight???" Recognition showed on the marauders faces. Harry already knew it was obviously so he started to bark out orders.
"Sirius stop looking at the rat and help Ron get out of here. Hermione, you need to levitate Snape out of here and I'll follow behind with the rat." He watched as nobody moved so he stomped over to Sirius and pushed him towards Ron.
"We have to GO! Moony I'm sorry but you know you can't come. Hermione, please, I will take the blame for Snape, but I'd really rather not become a snack for my bloody uncle right now. We need to Go." This finally shook Hermione out of her shock. She did what Harry asked and they all quickly were leaving the Shrieking Shack.
"Moony, do not leave this bloody shack. I will take care of Sirius.." And with that, Harry followed Hermione out the tunnel. Icarus said that he didn't need to worry about Snape waking up and causing a scene. He has had the power to send off a hundred dementors each of the three fucking times he's had to. He hasn't had the time to even think about how to interact with Hermione, let alone the bastard who was supposed to be his best mate. He didn't plan this part out, he was focused on making sure Sirius would end up a free man, but he has no idea how he is supposed to act around the red-headed git. Hermione was a different story, the three times he road Buckbeak before, he did feel something different for Hermione, and it didn't make any bloody sense for her to have any feelings for Ron yet, Molly didn't start dosing us until after the World Cup. Merlin, he felt so stupid. So fucking stupid. It's always been Ron and his jealousy. Yeah, Hermione was closer with him than she was with Ron. Harry thought that this was the case since he hasn't been such a bellend to her from the moment they met.
He saw his actual friend looking back at him every few seconds. Without a clue of what to say to her, he went for a simple apology, because he thought that it could do no wrong.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you Hermione. I panicked and just wanted to make sure that my last remaining family member will make it out safe." He stupidly forgot that this was third year Hermione, not the Hermione that has been through hell and back hunting horcruxes with him.
"Harry, you don't need to apologize for anything I'm just worried about you, so much has happened so fast." He saw the concern in his best friend's eyes, he thought about how his many lives would have gone if the Weasley's didn't bloody interfere. He could always see how brilliant Hermione was, he could totally see that if he was to have a soulmate, it would be Hermione, why was he so bloody blind. So, so stupid.
Harry softened his gaze, he really missed this relationship with Hermione, one without war and countless deaths. "It is all rather fast, and I think my adrenaline from a few minutes ago is finally settling down. Thank you, Hermione. I appreciate you." Hearing this made her beam at him, a cute, bucked-tooth, beam of smile. He could see light at the end of the tunnel and they were soon making there way out from under the whomping willow.
When they were a safe distance away from that terror of a tree, Harry had asked them all to wait. He lowered the rat to the ground and ended the levitation charm, he immediately re-stunned him as he said, "I'm not taking any chances." He watched on with a bit of pride, and just a tad bit surprised, as Hermione followed him in re-stunning Snape. The giant double doors of the main entrance of Hogwarts were closed, and before he could stop his slightly loony Godfather, he started banging on the door and yelling for someone to let him in.
"What the fuck Padfoot?" He yelled, consciously aware that his language has been terrible and that he should apologize to Hermione for that too.
"Why not pup? I got the bloody proof of my innocence right there!" He gestured to the traitor that Harry was currently levitating. "If they hear Sirius Black yelling to let him in, the more people will be here with their wands out, just to see the damn rat."
Harry thought that actually made a good deal of sense, and Harry saw that it made a good deal of sense when half the staff had their wands pointed at his Godfather when the doors opened.
"Stop pointing your damn wands at me like I'm some crazed killer, the real traitor is right there being held unconscious by my bloody Godson." None of the wands moved from there position on Sirius. Some did however, glance towards Harry, and were shocked to see a very alive Peter Pettigrew. Harry's head of house was the one to ask who exactly Harry had with him. Harry was about to speak, but Sirius decided he wasn't done ranting, so Harry hit his godfather with a silent, Silencio.
"This is the man who betrayed my parents, the man that framed my godfather and condemned him to Azkaban, this is the very much alive, Peter Pettigrew." This was enough of a shock for the staff to lower their wands. This was the last thing they were expecting when they heard Sirius Black at their front door.
Harry continued, taking steps to make sure he would see his godfather freed before the summer holidays began. "Professor McGonagall, if you would please allow us to come inside to wait for Madam Bones to arrive, and could you please keep that idiot Fudge away from my last surviving family member. I would really prefer if he didn't see Sirius until after Pettigrew is taken into custody."
The head of Gryffindor house took a moment before letting Harry and his contingent into the castle. She began to lead them all to the hospital wing before Harry had stopped her.
"Professor, if you and I could go to the headmaster's office instead, we can hopefully make this much quicker for Madam Bones and her aurors." Minerva agreed and waited for Harry when he turned to Hermione.
"Hermione, please keep Sirius safe, I will remove the silencing charm when I get there. If you don't feel comfortable answering any questions about the situation, just tell them they're to ask me." He looked into her eyes, trying to convey how thankful he is for her. She gave him a quick nod and led an annoyed, and silent, Padfoot, to the hospital wing.
When they arrived in the headmaster's office, the minister of magic, the head of the DMLE, ten aurors, and a bloody dementor, were waiting for them. Harry walked straight up to Madam Bones, dropped the levitation charm, causing Pettigrew to land on the floor with a dull thud, and spoke, "This is the real Peter Pettigrew, the true traitor of the Potter's, and an unregistered rat animagus, who has been hiding as the Weasley family pet since that Halloween night."
Staring at the minister of magic, Harry continued, "I suppose a bloody trial is in order for the head of the Noble and Ancient House of Black, don't you think minister?" Harry's look was deadly, the useless minister's face started getting increasingly redder, while the head of DMLE took to responding to boy-who-lived. Harry knew that he wasn't supposed to know that Sirius was the head of House Black yet but they didn't know that.
"Mr. Potter, I can assure you that Mr. Black along with Pettigrew will stand trial as quickly as possible." She turned towards the minister, "I will personally take Mr. Black into the ministry and make sure he has proper protection during transit. I assume you are aware of his whereabouts?" Harry nodded as the stern woman looked pointedly at him. She had two of her most trusted aurors take Pettigrew back to the ministry and into a high security holding cell. She was following Mr. Potter out of the office when he turned around and questioned her.
"Are you actually going to bring a dementor into Madam Pomfrey's hospital wing? I think I would rather let the dementor get to me first." This made the head of the DMLE turn to berate the minister for even thinking that, and it also accomplished keeping the minister away from his godfather for the time being.
When they arrived in the hospital wing Madam Pomfrey was working over a much put out Sirius Black. Harry and company made their way to the matron who was slightly amused and saying.
"Ms. Granger said that only you, Mr. Potter, were to release the silencing charm and I for one thought that was a great idea. I am going to have to start asking her to do that to you when you find your way into my care." She concluded with a smirk. Harry did end the silencing charm so that Madam Bones could question his godfather. He gave the man a smug wink and made his way over to Hermione, who was sitting beside Ron on his own bed.
Harry pulled a chair over to sit next to Hermione, his head was killing him, he sat down close enough to Hermione for him to drop his head on her shoulder. He said nothing, but let out a long sigh, he was not ready to fake his attitude towards the red-headed git, he would rather just talk to Hermione and maybe take a long nap. It was only a few hours since he was killed by Voldemort, this was turning out to be the longest days of his life.
"Harry…" Hermione said while taking Harry's arm and wrapping it up with her own. She could feel just how exhausted he was, she wanted him to talk about what all he was feeling after all the craziness of the day. Harry placed his hand, from his free arm, over Hermione's own hands, and lifted his head to look at her. She could see that Harry would talk to her later about it. He wanted her to know that he would talk once they were alone.
They were looking into each other eyes for a few seconds until a certain red-headed git cleared his throat.
"Yeah, don't say anything to your best mate, it's not like he just had his leg bit in two or anything." Harry knew that Ron really was put off by the lack of acknowledgment he received. Harry, however, could not be fucked to deal with Ron right now. He was still looking at Hermione when his face turned into a frown, he gave Hermione's hand a comforting squeeze before walking back over to Sirius' bed. Harry missed the glare Hermione shot at Ron, the only reason she didn't follow Harry over to Sirius was because she thought he probably wanted some alone time with his godfather.
Harry sat down on one of the beds next to Sirius, if he wasn't distracted, thinking about what all he needed to do to make things right, he would have heard his godfather and the head of the DMLE having an argument about what Sirius could and could not do at this time.
"Not bloody likely Amelia. I'm not going anywhere near the ministry until I know that I won't be kissed on sight. Until I am a free man, I am not going anywhere with you." Sirius was yelling at the director and really had the look of a crazed murderer. The haunt in his eyes from his time in Azkaban was prominent in his glare. Madam Bones responded in kind, she was not the type of woman to lose and argument, let alone be yelled at by someone two years her younger. Harry couldn't put together anything they were saying, really only hearing bits and pieces, until Dumbledore walked up to him with a greeting.
"Harry, I must say that you did a magnificent job today, your maturity showed greatly in your actions with Peter Pettigrew. I am sure you could do with some rest; I can handle the rest for you." Harry saw the ever-present twinkle in his eye. This man has been the reason for every single one of his deaths, someone he looked up to, a grandfather, part of the small group he considered family, but it was a man full of deceit, a bastard who only cared about himself. Just like the dealing with Ron and the Weasleys, he wasn't sure how to act yet. He decided to stay silent unless Madam Bones or Sirius needed him. Albus assumed that he was correct in his belief that Harry needed rest when the boy chose to close his eyes and not respond. The old man turned his attention to the boy's godfather and the head of the DMLE. "Amelia, I am sure that Mr. Black can stay here until the trial, if everything goes right, he will be at the ministry getting exonerated tomorrow. I will let Madam Pomfrey know of the arrangements, good day!" Albus was trying to avoid all talks with Sirius, he was sure the man despised him, he was the head of the Wizengamot, the sole man to bring him to a proper trial. Albus had no plans of being caught up in this mess.
Harry still had his eyes closed when Madam Bones spoke to him. "Mr. Potter, since the decision has already been made up, I have no choice but to leave my post beside Mr. Black. I will leave two auror guards here for his protection. You and your friends will be expected at the trial and I will make sure you are aware of the time." She gave him a curt nod and was about to walk away to grab the aurors when Harry made a request.
"Madam Bones, I would like my godfather's protection to be handled by Kingsley and Tonks, I honestly don't trust any of your orher aurors for his personal protection." Harry knew he wasn't going to leave his side regardless, but in case he fell asleep, he didn't want there to be any chances of losing his godfather. After a moment, the older woman agreed, and the two aurors quickly joined Sirius at his bed. Sirius was trying to put up a fight against the sleeping drought, but Madam Pomfrey dosed him up nice and good, wholly expecting the old marauder to protest her every move.
"Wotcher, Harry Potter, not sure how you knew who I was, but I am glad you asked for me, this whole situation was going to be a nightmare worth of paperwork and I just can't get my head concentrated enough to do all that. Thanks for saving my cousin here, I knew he could never betray the Potter's like that." Harry missed Tonks, the upbeat metamorphmagus, she had lost her life along with her husband Remus, just hours ago. Seeing everyone that he has lost is taking a toll on him and it was contributing to the massive headache he had.
He responded to her shortly and said that he was going to try and get some rest. He drew the curtains surrounding the bed he had claimed, he wasn't expecting to sleep, but he wanted the time to think about what he is to do next. The summer break was approaching fast, and he had no plans of spending any time with his bloody relatives. He has had enough lifetimes of torture from them and had no plans for allowing that to continue, blood wards be damned.
Harry had one arm across his forehead, while the other laid limp at his side. He knew that Hermione would find her way over to him eventually, but he thought it was funny just how quickly she did once he made himself alone. She took a seat next to his bedside and held the hand that was sat limp beside him, he could admit that the whole soulmate business could very well be true, but he didn't want to force any type of relationship with Hermione and seem all out of character. Without showing any other sort of acknowledgment to the girl, he flipped the hand she was holding over so that he could intertwine his fingers with her own. This was normal for them, this was Harry and Hermione, best friends, them against the world, and he was simply happy to be here with her. The thought of what happened to her after his many deaths was a plague inside his head. He wanted to distance her from Ron, he wasn't sure how soon Sirius would be free, but he knew that he didn't want to be alone all summer, especially if he was trying to avoid the Burrow at all costs.
"Hermione?" He said, his bright green eyes finally meeting hers. "Would you want to spend some time over the summer together? I don't know how long stuff will take with Sirius, but I can't go back to the Dursley's, not after I discovered the truth of all this. I need a family, a real one, with people that care about me. I'd rather not deal with my relatives for most of the summer." He held her gaze, he was pleading with her, in all honesty, more so that she wouldn't spend time with Ron, then fearing whatever the Dursley's would do to him, he knew he wasn't returning regardless of her answer.
Hermione's gazed softened even more if that was even possible, "Oh Harry… Of course, I would love to spend time with you, you don't even need to ask Harry, I'll always be here for you." Harry could no longer keep her gaze, knowing all that he did, going through all that they did together, he was having trouble keeping his emotions at bay.
He didn't trust himself to say much, he gave her hand an assuring squeeze, and said, "Thank you Hermione, for everything." With Hermione there keeping him safe, he was quick to find the sleep he desperately needed. With all the time travel business, along with his 9th death, he had no clue when the last time he actually slept was, he didn't care, he was taking the opportunity regardless.
Harry woke up with a start, somebody had been shaking him awake and because he has been at war for the past year, he had his wand in his hand and pointing at the culprit in a flash.
"Relax Potter, I was only just waking you up, no need to take my eye out." Even with his blurred vision, he could see the pink hair, courtesy of Tonks' abilities. He lowered his wand and searched for his glasses, the auror had realized this and placed them in his hand. Harry looked at her with an annoyed expression, she laughed at him and said, "Don't be mad at me, I'm just doing my job here. Bonsey was able to push for an emergency Wizengamot meeting since this whole incident relates to the end of the last war. We only have about an hour until it starts and to be honest…" Tonks paused, giving Harry a once over. "You look and smell like shit. We already have enough of that with Sirius over there so you should go and grab a quick shower before coming back here. Like I said, there's only about an hour of time until then so make it quick. Oh, try to fix that mop of yours as well." The young auror couldn't help but take a jab at Harry's hair, the boy himself thought it actually felt nice for someone to just joke about like that. It's been so long since he's had anybody to do that with him. He smiled at the mother of his future godson. He was making his way out when he remembered Hermione was there when he fell asleep, he imagined that she would have already been up and showered by now, so he was hoping he would see her in the common room. He didn't spare more than a quick glance at the curtain-covered bed that his former best mate occupied.
Harry was correct to assume that Hermione would be in the common room already, he wasn't sure what time it was, but by the look of outside, he imagine it was close to 7 in the morning. His friend was asleep on the chair that she liked most. Harry felt bad, he imagined that she stayed awake watching over him for too long, he didn't even know if she got any sleep at all. He decided to let her sleep until he came back from his shower. There was no point in waking her up now.
The quick shower gave Harry some time to think about how things were going to go today at the ministry. In his previous lives, he always had the pleasure of meeting one Delores Umbridge before the start of his 5th year. He could see the bitch saying something to him or Sirius. God he wished he could put her in her place before she could muck everything up. He added keeping Umbridge out of the school to his list of must needed changes for this timeline. He started to think of ways that could bring down the toad before the end of the summer. However, since most of his plans rely on him being hidden away with Sirius, he let the issue go until it became more prudent.
Hermione was awake when he made his way back to the common room. She may have been awake, but if her eyes weren't open, you'd have no idea. Harry totally forgot that along with last night, Hermione has been taking every single class offered and was probably halfway around the twist with stress. Harry had made his way up to Hermione and managed to offer his hand before she recognized that she wasn't alone in the room anymore.
Harry gave Hermione a sad smile, she matched this and took Harry's hand. The two were dressed in nicer robes, ones that would pass off alright enough in the ministry. They made the trek back to the hospital wing in silence. Harry honestly had a lot to say, but didn't want to blow his cover with Hermione.
They walked into hospital wing hand in hand, this did not go unnoticed by Ron, whose bed was no longer surrounded by curtains. Harry let go of Hermione's hand, he had bigger stuff to worry about than the git's feelings of jealousy. He thought that Hermione might stay back and talk with Ron before they had to leave, but instead Harry felt her saddle up next beside him, taking his arm, much like she did last night. Harry felt uncomfortable, not because of Hermione, Hermione could never make him uncomfortable, no, he was uncomfortable with having knowledge that the two were destined to be. He knew he loved Hermione, but he never saw any kind of romantic relationship happening between them. He was aware of the potions messing with their minds, but knowing all of this while Hermione had no clue, It felt wrong.
Harry continued pondering when he and Hermione finally reached Tonks. She told them that Madam Bones had taken Sirius, along with Kingsley, to the ministry early in order to avoid unnecessary commotion. Tonks sent Harry and Hermione a wink when they didn't spit apart when asked to follow her. They made it through the FLOO, the security checkpoint, and into the Wizengamot chambers, without separating once. This helped finalize Harry's choice of what to do about him and Hermione. Icarus said that they had to be together for Harry to complete his destiny, so Harry decided to start as soon as possible.
Seated at the witness bench, a slightly nervous Harry started talking to his closest friend.
"Hermione?" He started. Hermione's head was resting on Harry's shoulder and she gave him a grunt in response. He thought that Hermione exhausted was kind of cute, if she could be like that without overworking herself, he thought it would be totally cute.
Keeping a level tone, Harry asked, "Have you ever read anything on soulmates before?" Harry was pretty sure she had, Hermione always knew a little of everything. She had learned a crazy amount during the time they were in the tent together, she always seemed to be reading something new and different. "I know a little bit about them, from a book I read on soul magic. They are pretty rare so they don't have much information written on them. Why Harry?" Hermione looked at him with one eyebrow raised.
"I just wanted to know how people figure out if they have a soulmate. Maybe learn a little about what it means to have one?" Harry knew this was out of character for him, it wasn't like him to ask questions about something they weren't currently studying. Hermione seemed to think he was a bit out of character as well, she was glad to answer the questions, but this never happened. She also thought the timing was strange, they were in the middle of his godfathers trial.
"Well Harry, there's a couple different ways; there are spells used in medicine to gauge somebody's magical core and if you compare two cores side by side you could tell if they were soulmates by the matching flows of magic in their cores. This one isn't of much use since they're so rare and the spell is typically only used when someone has damaged their magical cores. Some wizarding couples that happen to be big romantics test if they have a soul bond through a small blood rite. It doesn't affect anything if the couple isn't fitted to be, but if true soulmates were to do it, they say that the couple would know it. Kind of dumb that they wouldn't say what would happen, but maybe it's all a hoax anyway?" Hermione turned to face Harry for the first time since they entered the ministerial chambers. She saw determination behind his eyes, determination, and hope, it was powerful, Hermione couldn't hold his gaze for long and took to looking at her shoes.
"Hermione, how does the blood rite work? Is it complicated? Does it require anything to complete it?" Hermione was starting to seriously get concerned for her friend, for all she knew, he has never even heard of any types of soul magic.
"Harry are you sure you are alright? Why are you so interested in soulmates all of a sudden?"
Harry didn't want to keep tiptoeing around this, he was already uncomfortable enough, adding Hermione's concern for him just made it worse.
"Hermione, would you go through the rite with me? Just so that I could see how it works?" After he asked, he wondered what exactly happened in this rite, Hermione's face was as red as any of the Weasley's hair. Hermione picked up her head to stare into Harry's eyes. She was searching for something, something that would tel her if Harry would go through with it. Hermione wasn't against it by any means, especially if she would get to do it with Harry, they just have never been like this with each other before.
"Umm… well you see Harry… we would have to hold hands after we both cut open each others palm. . This would let the bloods mix and allow for the rite to move forward. After that… allwewouldhavetodoiskiss." Harry didn't hear the last part, Hermione went back to being embarrassed and mumbled her way through the end. The list of charges were being read and they wouldn't have much time to talk until they were called as witnesses.
"After we hold hands, what is it we do Hermione ?"
Hermione felt like she was on fire, she didn't expect this to be the way she would get her first kiss, but if Harry really wanted to kiss her, she wouldn't dare deny him. She honestly couldn't believe her luck, she wondered if Harry liked her too? Hermione decided that she would do it right then and there. It wouldn't take long and she would be able to heal them both afterwards. She grabbed Harry's hand and made it palm side up. She took out her wand and whispered the cutting curse, she finally realized what she was doing when Harry jumped a bit while being cut. Her eyes widened in shock, she looked at Harry apologetically but received a thankful look in return. Harry gently grabbed her hand to mimic her own action, she could tell that he didn't want to hurt her, he was treating her like a doll. Harry made a small cut on her hand, Hermione barely flinched as Harry made it as painless as possible. He intertwined his fingers with hers and looked at her to lead the way. Hermione couldn't meet Harry's gaze but began to lean her head towards his own. Harry recognized what was about to happen and reached his free hand out to Hermione's cheek. She looked up and saw so much affection behind his eyes it took her breath away. Harry was bringing his head down to her lips and when the two of them met, a bright light exploded above their heads and a phoenix emerged from it. It was only a little longer than a peck, but the light accompanied by the phoenix caught the attention of the entire Wizengamot. Hermione was shocked that something actually happened. They were soulmates. She thought about what she had read, no wonder they didn't say what would happen, the feeling couldn't be described.
Harry was not prepared for that. That bastard Icarus never warned him that it would cause a bloody scene when it happened. If it were not for the completeness he felt, he would have been really put off by all the stares. He just didn't have it in him to remain upset, he felt like a million galleons, he has never felt so happy in his many lives. The soulmates didn't have time to enjoy the moment as someone familiar cleared their throat.
"Well, I imagine congratulations are in order." The old headmaster voiced to the Wizengamot. "It is not every day that such a bonding occurs. I am very happy for the both of you." The blue-eyed wizard gazed down at Harry and Hermione, it seemed like his eyes were twinkling even more than usual. The rest of the judiciary body seemed confused about what just happened, so the chief warlock decided to fill them in.
"It would seem that Mr. Potter and Ms. Granger have just completed a soul bond. A truly magical experience." The members of the Wizengamot were shocked, soulmates were thought to be a myth, true soulmates only find each other once every hundred years or so. To happen at a time like this was unprecedented.
It was obvious that the members of the Wizengamot wanted to finish the days trials. Even though many had different feelings about what had just occurred, they all had questions to ask. Harry thought that he had many questions to ask, and he wanted to talk about what had just happened to Hermione. They gave each other a knowing look, one that told the other that they would be talking as soon as all of this was over.
In the haste to finish the trials of Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black, the judiciary body did not question the answers both men had given under the truth serum. It was obvious to them that Peter was the traitor, he was cowering in fear while being delivered his sentence. The rat managed to escape the death penalty, they believed it made sense for him to take over Sirius' life imprisonment.
Harry was ecstatic that he had been able to free his godfather just as he had planned with his reaper. Along with starting the soul bond with Hermione, he has made two giant positives in his last attempt at life. Harry desperately wanted to leave with Sirius as he made his way to St. Mungo's for treatment, but the members of the Wizengamot were quick to make sure that he would not be going anywhere.
Harry had been casting glares across the chamber when an elderly member of the court rose to her feet and spoke. "Please allow the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Longbottom to welcome the new Lord and Lady Potter into our society." Harry realized that this lady was Neville's Gran. He should have remembered the vulture hat that made an appearance on boggart-Snape. Harry watched on as each member of the wizarding body followed Lady Longbottom's footsteps to send a welcome to him and Hermione. Harry was staring at everyone in shock as Hermione brought her mouth close to his ear and whispered, "a soul bond within wizarding society is seen as a step above marriage. It makes us legal adults and forgoes the age requirement of becoming a member of the Wizengamot." Harry turned to her in shock, Hermione was flushed and clearly embarrassed, he had no clue that this was part of the package a soul bond brought.
"Yes indeed, welcome Lord and Lady Potter to our hallowed halls. The two of you have done something that has not happened in over 300 years. You have ascended into your place within our society and at a record age, I might add. The previous couple was 20 when their soul bond formed, granting their membership among us." Harry was in a state of information overload and just wanted to get the hell out of there, some members of the body noticed it and one of them voiced a means for Harry to escape. "I Madam Bones head of the DMLE and Lady Bones, head of the most ancient and most noble house of Bones move to have the Lord and Lady's induction to this body take place during the scheduled gathering aligned with the solstice." A mixture of reactions was a result of this statement, but the chief warlock was the one who made the final decision. "I shall pass forth your motion Lady Bones on the basis that our younger members here have exams to be studying for. I ask on behalf of the new Lord and Lady to avoid formal contact with them until they have been properly inducted." Harry still wasn't sure what to do with the headmaster, he was told that he had not tried to be malicious, he was just blind to see just what was under his crooked nose.
Dumbledore went on to dismiss the members before him and provide a portkey for Harry and Hermione. The shocked couple had never used this means of wizarding transportation before and it showed when they both unceremoniously fell atop each other. Harry looked at his best friend, already questioning his decision to complete the blood rite. He really shouldn't have been such an arsehole to Icarus when he needed to be paying attention.
