Chapter 37: DM Quest 3: Master of Dragon Knight

"We're flying." Jonouchi gawked at the ancient aircraft. "We're really flying in the air."

"Earu." Yuugi beamed as the fairy fluttered to him. "Do you wanna come with us, too? Okay." he nodded. "Let's go, to the Dark Castle of the Sky."

"Onward." Jonouchi took the wheel.

In the real world...

"We're got the whole building completely surrounded." Kemo informed the three teens inside. "Give up."

"We won't let you guys lay even a finger on Yuugi and the others." Honda snarled.

In the Adventure Game virtual world...

"They're here." Yuugi warned as the castle defenses closed in to attack them.

"We're beat you to the ground." Mai grinned. "'Harpies Lady' and 'Rose Whip'!" she sent out her trademark Monster.

"'Giltia the Dark Knight'" Jonouchi also summoned a Monster.

"'Dark Magician'!" Yuugi sent out his signature Monster.

A bunch of 'Mega Thunderballs' bombed the hull of the ship and a 'Whiptail Crow' flew in to attack Yuugi when Earu jumped in, taking the attack himself.

'Dark Magician' returned and took out the 'Whiptail Crow'.

"'Swords of Revealing Light'!" Yuugi pulled out the Spell card to give his comrades some reprieve. "I'm sorry." he wept. "Because of me... I won't forgive you, Big Five!" Yami Yuugi took over after Earu faded into dust.

"We're hit the barrier." Mai stated, the ship's bow crashed into the castle's energy shield.

"Just a bit more..." Jonouchi hissed. "Break through. We did it." he nodded once the ship forced itself in.

"What the?" Yami Yuugi frowned when a burst of flames shot out from the castle.

"Damn." Jonouchi cursed and steered the ship off.

"Damn you!" Mai spat, the ship's hull catching on fire and she sent 'Harpie Lady' to take out the 'Darkfire Dragon'.

Yami Yuugi summoned the 'Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress' to help his comrades escape the burning airship.

Mai had also activated the 'Elegant Egotist, turning her 'Harpie Lady' into the 'Harpie Lady Sisters' to give Yami Yuugi and Jonouchi's Monsters a lift.

Inside the castle...

"Look at that." Mai pointed to the hill of 'Cocoons of Evolution' in the distance.

"''Cocoons of Evolution'." Jonouchi hissed.

"We can't let those hatch." Mai reminded.

"Just perfect." Jonouchi grinned as a horde of 'Killer Needles' and 'Hercules Beetles' emerged to defend the cocoons. "'Giltia the Dark Knight'!" he sent out his Monster to deal with the insects when a 'Man-Eater Bug' jumped on 'Giltia the Dark Knight', destroying it.

"They're trying to protect the cocoons." Yami Yuugi realized. "'Mirror Force'!" he activated the Trap card to take out the attacking horde and setting the forest on fire.

"We didn't make it in time?" Jonouchi gaped when the cocoons hatched and several 'Great Moths' emerged.

"But we still have other methods." Yami Yuugi remarked, summoning 'Kuriboh' and 'Catapult Turtle' and loaded 'Kuriboh' on 'Catapult Turtle'. "Using this, the 'Great Moths' will be annihilated." he pulled out the 'Multiply' Spell card. 'Catapult Turtle' launched 'Kuriboh' towards the insect horde, and using the 'Multiply' card, 'Kuriboh' was turned into suicide bombers to take down the 'Great Moths'.

"What's that?" Jonouchi wondered, the group entered the Cave of Death when a portal appeared on the roof. 'Blue Eyes White Dragon' popped out from the gateway and Kaiba and Mokuba jumped in. "So you're safe?" he sighed in relief. "We were worried."

"I don't need a loser dog to be worrying about me." Kaiba snorted.

"You've done well to make it this far." Oshita Konosuke chuckled.

"You failed to sacrifice me." Kaiba retorted. "That means the legendary Five God Dragon can't be revived. This game is officially cleared."

"We will not allow you to." Otaki Shuzo mocked and the Big Five transported the group into the interior of a circuit board, before they manifested as a 'Mythic Dragon'.

"So, this is the legendary Five God Dragon?" Yami Yuugi frowned.

"That's cheap."Jonouchi accused. "The Five God Dragon shouldn't be revived."

"A truly exceptional games always has a surprise ending." the Big Five taunted.

"I see." Kaiba noted. "So I presume this is your way of pulling an abstention?"

"Fine then." Yami Yuugi accepted. "We'll take on this duel."

"The Three 'Harpie Sisters'!" Mai played her Monster first.

"Behold the symbol below your feet." the Big Five mocked, the 'Harpie Sisters' found themselves stunned in place.

"'The Lord of Dragons'." Yami Yuugi recognized the mark.

"This is the Dragon's Sanctuary." the Big Five droned. "Only those of the Dragon-type can fight here."

"You dare challenge me to a duel of dragons?" Kaiba laughed. "I praise that optimism of yours. Come forth, 'Blue Eyes White Dragon'!"

"Get out here." Jonouchi summoned 'Red Eyes Black Dragon'. "'Red Eyes'."

"'Harpie's Pet Dragon'!" Mai followed suit.

"'Curse of Dragon'!" Yami Yuugi summoned his Monster.

All four Dragons fired their attacks, only to be countered by 'Mystic Dragon'.

"The fifth head defended the others." Yami Yuugi realized what happened.

"There's still one target left to attack." the Big Five chuckled. "We should start with the defenseless one. Disappear, Mokuba."

"Mokuba!" Jonouchi sent in 'Red Eyes Black Dragon' to fend off the attack, and dropping his Life Points to zero, thus ejecting him out of the game.

"That's not fair!' Mai glared. "It's against the rules to directly attack the players."

"Not fair?" the Big Five bragged. "We make the rules of this game."

"'When the strongest dragon teams up, the Evil God will be destroyed.'" Yami Yuugi recited the prophecy. "It's the legend that exists in this world. It's a hint for us to defeat them.' 'Gaia The Fierce Knight', become the legendary soldier." he threw out the 'Black Luster Ritual' Spell card.

"Did you forget the barrier already?" the Big Five mocked when 'Black Luster Soldier' was summoned. "So long as he is not a Dragon-type, 'Black Luster Soldier' cannot fight here. We shall get rid of 'Black Luster Soldier' right now."

"I won't let you." Mai snapped. "I'll be your opponent." she sent in 'Harpie's Pet Dragon' to attack the 'Mystic Dragon'.

"The weak shall disappear." 'Mystic Dragon' easily took out 'Harpie's Pet Dragon' and removing Mai from the game.

"Kaiba, use this chance to call the Ultimate out." Yami Yuugi instructed.

"Are you trying to order me around?" Kaiba demanded.

"Now isn't the time to say stuff like that." Yami Yuugi argued.

"I don't need your power." Kaiba retorted. "I can beat these guys on my own."

"Don't fool yourself, Kaiba." the Big Five mocked. "Disappear along with 'Blue Eyes'."

"Big brother!" Mokuba screamed, pushing Kaiba out of 'Mystic Dragon's attack and removing himself from the game.

"Weep in your own uselessness, Kaiba." the Big Five taunted. "You no longer have your beloved little brother by your side to comfort you."

"Stand up, Kaiba." Yami Yuugi snapped. "Do you want to waste what Mokuba just did for you?"

"Unforgivable." Kaiba snarled. "You'll pay, Big Five. Come forth, Ultimate Dragon! Show your ultimate form before us." using 'Polymerization', he fused all three of his 'Blue-Eyes White Dragons' to summon 'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon'.

"If you have the Ultimate Dragon, it is still not enough to stop our Five God Dragon's attack." the Big Five declared.

"We'll see about that." Yami Yuugi remarked.

"You couldn't..." the Big Five realized what Yami Yuugi meant. "'Black Luster Soldier' and 'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon'... by summoning these two together, you intend to summon that Monster?"

"I'll show you right now." Yami Yuugi pulled out his 'Polymerization' Spell card and fused both 'Black Luster Soldier' and 'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon' into 'Dragon Master Knight'. 'Dragon Master Knight' gains the Attack Points of every Dragon on the field." he explained, the new Monster drawing power from the 'Mystic Dragon' as well as 'Red Eyes Black Dragon' and 'Harpie's Pet Dragon'. "Galaxy Crusher!"

"This is impossible!" the Big Five cried out when the 'Dragon Master Knight''s attack hit 'Mystic Dragon', destroying it.

At the castle...

"You have done well defeating the Evil God." Princess Adena greeted Yami Yuugi and Kaiba. "Now this world has been saved. My saviors, now that the Evil God has vanished, it is time I revealed my true form to you." she reverted to her 'Mystical Elf' form and revived Jonouchi, Mai, Mokuba and Earu.

"That seems to be the exit." Kaiba spotted a portal open on the wall. "Let's go, Mokuba."

In the real world...

"Think I'll get you?" Honda snarled, fending off Kemo and his thugs after they forced the door open when the virtual pods opened to signal the trio's return.

"Where's Kaiba?" Anzu asked.

"He's safe." Yuugi replied. "He should have returned to our world.

"Too bad for you, Kemo." Mokuba glared. "Your plan just failed."

"Withdraw." Kemo ordered, pulling back his thugs.

"Thank god." Mai moaned from the other room, exiting her virtual pod.
