Chapter 40: Yuugi's Tough Battle - God Orguss' Fierce Assault
How do I make Otogi understand? Yami Yuugi wondered. There's got to be a hint in this game. "Dice roll." he took his turn. How can I make Otogi understand the heart of the game he made himself? There's only one way to reach Otogi's heart. "I've gathered what I need to activate an Effect. Using two Magic Crests, 'Thunder Ball' moves forward in a straight line, destroying both enemy and allied Monsters. I use two Magic Crests. Rolling Crush." he took out 'Blast Lizard'. "I activate its Special Ability. I use three more Magic Crests and use 'Rolling Crush' once more." he took out 'Gator Dragon'.
"Monsters can only attack once per turn." Otogi remarked.. "But a Monster's Special Ability is a special exception. Yuugi, the fact that you actually discovered that, I thought you were nothing but a shy nerd at first."
"Frankly, I thought this game was nothing but nonsense when I first heard about it." Yami Yuugi retorted. "However, I finally get it. Dungeon Dice Monsters is really fun. I can see why you wanted to spread this game over the entire world."
"Of course." Otogi snorted. "You really think you can get out of this by praising me? A match is a match."
"And the game is just getting started." Yami Yuugi agreed.
"It's my turn." Otogi took his turn. "Dice roll. My Summons failed?"
"It's my turn." Yami Yuugi took the fresh hand of dice. "Dice roll. A successful Summon. Dimension Dice." he inserted the die into his chosen spot, Summoning 'Knight of Twin Swords'. "I can' launch an attack on any of your Monsters yet. I'll store my Movement Crest in my Pool."
"You seem to be finally getting used to the game, Yuugi." Otogi noted. "If you don't want to use the Crests you rolled when you Summon a Monster, you can store them away in the Crest Pool." that Yuugi, he's started to learn this game at an amazing speed. I've got to completely crush you before you learn all the rules of the game. "It's my turn. Dice roll. I got a pair of Summon Crests. Dimension Dice." he inserted his die into a new spot. "I Summon Level 2, 'Battle Ox'. Moreover, I use four of my stored Movement Crests to move 'Battle Ox' into position." he shifted 'Battle Ox' right next to 'Knight of Twin Swords'. "'Battle Ox', attack 'Knight of Twin Swords'. It gets stronger when fighting against Warrior-type Monsters. It's Attack Power rises from 10 to 30 points."
"I use 'Knight of Twin Swords' Defense." Yami Yuugi countered. "It's got 10 Defense Points. 'Knight of Twin Swords' has 10 Defense Points, and took damage of 30. so it now hes 10 Hit Points."
He's completely mastered Defense. Otogi cursed.
"It's my turn." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "Dice roll. At the cost of its Special Attack, I use two Attack Crests." he successfully blocked off 'Battle Ox's attack. "'Knight of Twin Swords': Twin Sword Multiple Slashes." he took out 'Battle Ox'. "Otogi, it looks like we've come right back to the start line."
"I admit it was really magnificent for you to be able to beat my 'Battle Ox'." Otogi burst out laughing. "But you're hugely mistaken if you think some newbie can completely master Dungeon Dice Monsters. This game isn't decided just by Monster battles."
"What are you trying to say?" Yami Yuugi demanded.
"Still haven't noticed it?" Otogi mocked. "Take a close look at the field.
"Oh no." Yami Yuugi gave the field a look-over and gaped in horror.
"I guess I have to explain it to you." Otogi sighed. "Listen, you use the dice to Summon a Monster, as well as expand the field. You've meant to connect it to your own Dungeon corridor. That means Yuugi stands no hope of winning against me. He just has to find out how to Summon his Monster in the enemy's Dungeon. But to do that, he has to defeat my entire Monster army and get within striking distance of me, the Dungeon Master. My turn." I got it. His eyes fell on the die he wanted. "Yuugi, look at this die." he picked up the black die. "This is known as the 'Rare Black'. Take a good look at what happens when you roll the black die. Dice roll. The Summon's a success. Dimension, Rare Black." he inserted the black die into his chosen slot. "I Summon Level 3, 'Warp Vortex'. This is a Warp Item. I can warp a special item and one of those things. But the true power of the Warp Item is the dimension the Rare Black places on the field. It's an entrance, a warp leading directly to another location, becoming an exit."
I see. Yami Yuugi realized what Otogi had planned. There's still one place left on my field where I can play the Dimension Dice. When two Warp Vortex are on the field, his Monsters can teleport between them.
"So, you finally realized." Otogi taunted. "Once I get my other Rare Black, I can teleport my Monster to your side of the field in an instant. Using this Rare Black combo, my victory is assured."
"Dice roll." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "The Summon's a success. Dimension Dice." he inserted his die into another slot.. "I Summon Level 3, 'Strike Ninja'."
"The 'Strike Ninja'..." Otogi mused. "Nice Monster. But can he beat the speed of my Rare Black combo? It's here. The black die." he picked up his second Rare Black die. "Once I Dimension this, the Rare Black combo will be complete. Dice roll. Your life is spared for now." he noted.
"Otogi, it seems you've overlooked something." Yami Yuugi saw his new set of dice. "I have one as well." he revealed the Rare Black die in his hand. "The Rare Black. Dice roll. A successful Summon. Dimension, Rare Black Die." he slotted in the Rare Black die, Summoning the second 'Warp Vortex'. "I then use 'Strike Ninja's Instant Movement." he had 'Strike Ninja' enter the 'Warp Vortex' and reappear on Otogi's side of the field. "'Strike Ninja', attack 'Ryu-Kishin'." because Otogi's Dungeon covers the entire field, my Dungeon space connects to it. Using the 'Warp Vortex' ti get past his battle line is the only way to prevail.
Before he Summons the Warp Crest, I have to stop his 'Warp Vortex'. Otogi pondered his next move. 'Strike Ninja' is an especially tricky Monster due to its Instant Movement ability. He moves three spaces when you use a Movement Crest. Yuugi's bound to attack me next turn. If I don't Summon a Defense Monster this turn, I'm screwed. "A failed Summon?" he hissed.
"Dice roll." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "It's a Movement Crest. Run, 'Strike Ninja'. 'Strike Ninja', attack Dungeon Master Otogi." he had 'Strike Ninja' take out one of Otogi's Heart Points.
"To harm me in Dungeon Dice Monsters..." Otogi laughed. "Just as I expected of the Duelist Kingdom's victor. You're really making me excited, Yuugi. But you won't be touching me again." he rolled his next set of dice. "Good, I got some Summon Crests. Here goes, Dimension Dice." he inserted his die into a new slot. "I Summon Level 3, 'Orgoth the Relentless'. 'Orgoth the Relentless' Special Ability allows me to take three Magic Crests and raise its Attack from 10 to 30. And then, I use a Movement Crest on 'Orgoth the Relentless'. 'Orgoth the Relentless', attack 'Strike Ninja'. Diamond Blade. I beat him." he remarked when the attack hit.
"You really think so?" Yami Yuugi countered. "Take a good look at the Dungeon."
"Impossible." Otogi was stunned to see 'Strike Ninja' dodge the attack.
"The moment 'Orgoth the Relentless' attacked, I used a Trap Crest to activate his Special Ability." Yami Yuugi explained. "'Strike Ninja' has the Effect to dodge any attack."
Invisibility. Otogi realized. It camouflaged itself like a chameleon. He was able to avoid the attack that way. It's hard to imagine this is the same person who's playing D.D.M for the first time. Muto Yuugi, is it possible he beat Pegasus without tricks, but with pure talent?
"It's my turn now." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "'Strike Ninja', attack." he took out Otogi's second Heart Point. "Just one more attack and I win."
Yuugi, I won't let you do as you please. Otogi swore. This is a fight betting my all on the line to get back my broken dream. "My turn. 'Orgoth the Relentless', attack 'Strike Ninja'."
I don't have any more Trap Crests in my Crest Pool. Yami Yuugi looked at his side monitor. I no longer have a way to stop his attacks.
"Diamond Blade." this time, 'Orgoth the Relentless' took out 'Strike Ninja'.
My only Monster in enemy territory has been beaten. Yami Yuugi mused. My opponent has four Monsters at his disposal and I only have three Monsters. What can I do?
