Chapter 54: Double Duel, Opening Act

Jonouchi, where are you? Yami Yuugi was running frantically on the streets with Ami in tow as they searched for Jonouchi and the others.

"Muto Yuugi, am I right?" Rare Hunter Two stopped Yami Yuugi in his tracks with his partner. "If you wanna get by us, you have no choice but to defeat us."

"Of course in a duel." Rare Hunter Three added.

"Rare Hunters?" Yami Yuugi recognized his opponents. "Move it, you bastards."

"No way." Rare Hunter Two declined. "If we let you go, Marik-sama will have our heads."

"And besides, if you refuse to duel us, your friends will pay a high price." Rare Hunter Three threatened.

"So then, which of us should go first?" Rare Hunter Two inquired.

"You go first." Rare Hunter Three suggested.

"That won't do." Rare Hunter Two corrected. "You wanna janken for it?"

"Will you bastards cut it out?" Yami Yuugi barked, his patience wearing thin.

"Sorry Yuugi." Rare Hunter Two shrugged. "But there's no helping it. We have to play you one at a time."

"Then, come at us as a tag." Kaiba stepped up. "You weaklings. I'll pair with Yuugi."

"A Tag Match, you say?" Rare Hunter Three echoed.

"We certainly have the right number of people." Rare Hunter Two noted.

"But don't misunderstand, Yuugi." Kaiba set up his deck. "I have held the Battle City Tournament for only one purpose: gathering the rare cards and eliminating the Ghouls. I cannot allow such an evil group who counterfeits cards continue to prosper. I'm not lending a hand for that nobody of yours. Or, since you just obtained a God Card, maybe you don't need my help?"

"This is better than our original plan." Rare Hunter Two chuckled.

"Indeed." Rare Hunter Three agreed. "If we get rid of you both right here, Marik-sama will be overjoyed."

"You're not going to win by sprouting such meaningless threats." Kaiba snorted. "My turn. Magic Card: 'Pot of Greed'. Its effects allows me to draw 2 cards from my deck. I will then Summon 'Lord of Dragons' to the field. Also the Magic Card 'The Flute of Summoning Dragon'."

"Two 'The Flutes of Summoning Dragon'?" Rare Hunter Three gawked at the two flutes in 'Lord of Dragons' hands.

"When 'The Flute of Summoning Dragon' is activated while 'Lord of Dragons' is face-up on the field, this Magic Card allows me to play up to 2 Dragons from my hand." Kaiba smirked. "Come forth, 'Blue Eyes White Dragon', 'Hyozanryu'."

"Impossible." Rare Hunter Three gaped. "Four Dragons right off the bat?"

"The first player can't attack." Kaiba commented. "My turn will come to an end here. Now, come at me. Even if I'm up against weaklings, I won't hold back."

"A Monster in Defense Mode." Rare Hunter Two played his turn. "My turn's over."

"My turn." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "I place 2 set cards."

"Mind your own business, Yuugi." Kaiba snapped. "I have no intentions of asking you for your help. Me alone is more than enough for these weaklings."

"Then why don't I sit back and watch?" Yami Yuugi joked. "I place 'Kuriboh' in Defense Mode. Now, it's your turn."

"We're in deep trouble." Rare Hunter Two stammered.

Leave it to me. Rare Hunter Three assured. Even if he gathered those Dragons right off the bat, I hold a Trap in my hands that will destroy those Monsters in an instant. No matter how rare the card is, the Ghouls can make them. He grinned, drawing 'Mirror Force'. "I place 1 set card. I also Summon a Monster in Defense Mode and end my turn."

"Trap?" Kaiba guessed. "Magic? No matter what it is, it's useless. 'Blue-Eyes', become God's power. Behold, Yuugi. Come forth, 'Obelisk." he used all three of his 'Blue Eyes White Dragons' as tribute for Tribute Summon 'Obelisk the Tormentor'. "This is the first God Card, 'Obelisk the Tormentor'. I sacrifice my two remaining Monsters. I activate its Special Effect."

"Our Wall Monsters..." Rare Hunter Three was stunned when their face-down Monsters were destroyed.

"'Obelisk', attack." Kaiba ordered.

"You fell for it." Rare Hunter Three grinned. "Trap activate: 'Mirror Force'."

"Such a trick won't work against God." Kaiba declared. "Go." he had 'Obelisk' punch through the energy shield and taking out both Rare Hunters in one single attack.

"This is Kaiba's God Card..." Yami Yuugi was stunned by 'Obelisk's sheer power. "Where's Jonouchi?" he hurried over to the defeated Rare Hunters.

"So these weaklings only had one Puzzle Card each?" Kaiba picked up the dropped Puzzle Cards. "This is for your collection." he tossed Yami Yuugi a Puzzle Card.

"We're going to look for Jonouchi." Yami Yuugi replied. "Ami, let's go."

"Wait." Kaiba stopped the cousins. "Mokuba, contact Headquarters. Using our systems, we'll be able to locate that nobody the moment he starts a duel, no matter where he is. But the moment we locate them, be prepared, for the conclusion between you and me."
